Fantastic experience: Our first contact with Carmelina was a few months ago when we called McTavish Travel for assistance in booking a holiday. At the time we didn’t have a specific destination in mind but had ideas of what we were looking for. Carmelina listened to our wish list and offered options that “fit the bill” for us to consider. We chose a Galapagos Cruise with Celebrity Cruise lines. The vacation, starting with comfortable, on time flights, with Copa Airlines and the cruise itself exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail from Celebrity and the quality of the naturalist guides and all staff on the cruise was outstanding. This was our first trip booked with Carmelina and we are already working on our next adventure with her assistance.

Fantastic experience: After years of booking all of our travel online ourselves, we decided to return to using a travel agency to do this for us. Our agent at McTavish is Carmelina Pirrocco-Crawford. She has done an amazing job planning and booking all inclusive trips, hotel/flight trips to Bermuda, the UK and beyond. She is very efficient and makes well thought out recommendations that will enhance your trip, based on your budget and the criteria you lay out for her. Traveling these days is stressful enough and so to have peace of mind that a professional has done all of the arrangements for you is well worth the modest fee that you pay. If you face any issues along the way, you have someone to call for advice and assistance. I have recommended Carmelina to friends.

Fantastic experience: Carmelina has booked flights, cruises and resorts. She has dealt with getting refunds when an earthquake happened, provided advice when strikes threatened and given great recommendations. Most recently we took a cruise with my elderly Mother and her advice was invaluable.

Fantastic experience: A year ago, my wife and I decided to take a ten-day trip to Venice, Loreto, Perugia, and Florence. Not knowing where to turn, we enlisted the help of a friend in the agency business asking him for the name of an exceptional travel agent. We’re thrilled that he pointed us to Carmelina Pirrocco-Crawford, who has been a godsend not only for that trip but for several more following that. The Customized Italy Package which she provided couldn’t have served us better. The hotels were excellent; the connections superb; and her suggestion to cut the tickets and vouchers and staple them in order like a cheque book made our daily planning extremely efficient. In addition, she provided a pre-travel checklist to ensure that we had everything we needed prior to departing. Beyond that, she has also made plane reservations, car rental arrangements, and travel insurance for three trips to visit family in the States. With each of those, she has been as prompt and meticulous as she was with our Italian jaunt, always ensuring that we’re happy with the arrangements both when booking and after we have arrived home. Obviously, Carmelina will continue to be our go-to travel agent in the future.

Carmelina worked her magic with Air Canada Vacations to get me the exact accomodations I wanted at the resort I am staying at next winter in Haultulco. Every day went smoothly - the hotels were excellent, tours were well paced and transitioning from one city to another went exactly as planned. Negative experience: Been serviced by McTavish Travels for over 24 years. Suddenly over the past two months things have changed. I get no response for over 5 hours on the telephone even though I am number one in the quene, no emails or online message returned. Are you functioning anymore? Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Carmelina enough for all her help with planning my trip. From figuring out what type of trip, where to go, everything I needed to have/pack & even details for a last minute flight. I ended up going to the Philippines where I had the chance to stay in Manila, La Union & Palawan. The differences between each place were unbelievable. Manila is very modern, & clean & I felt very safe. La Union has a cute surfing town San Juan that has a great beach, cute shops & lots of restaurants. Palawan was breathe taking for its natural beauty, from the beautiful big green mountains to the clearest blue water. The tours we went on were great & so were the tour guides! Overall, it was everything I could have asked for. I will make sure to always book with Carmelina for my next trips!

Negative experience: Find a different agency. Tried working with two different agents at this place and neither of them ever followed up with me. I called three times and was very specific with what we were looking for to go on our 10 year anniversary. Worst customer service.
