Fantastic experience: Just got back from a great trip in Portugal arranged by Neil Cruickshank from Durham Travel. He arranged everything as per our budget and made suggestions to best maximize our 11 days there and put us close to the city centre or within walking distance. Hotel in Porto was beautiful with a delicious breakfast and was our favourite hotel, but the other 2 hotels were great too. If we would change anything, it would be to have stayed in the town of Albufeira for our stay in the Algarve.

Fantastic experience: Back from a fantastic trip to Catalonia Royal Tulum about a week ago and still processing this amazing family vacation! We are so thankful to Teresa for finding this incredible gem of a resort for us. Fantastic experience: What an amazing honeymoon! We went to Sandals Grande in Saint Lucia and it was such a beautiful stay. Teresa made planning and organizing this trip so easy. Fantastic experience: Neil helped us book a flight and a river cruise to Switzerland. After our flight was cancelled to Switzerland, we didn't know if we would make it in time to the cruise. When I called Neil the next morning, he dropped everything and got on it right away. By noon he had us booked on another flight to Munich that evening with a stopover there and then on to Switzerland. We made it to the cruise just in time. We are so grateful for his help. Fantastic experience: John booked our flights, car, transfers, tours and some of our hotels for our 3 week driving tour of France. This is our 4th or 5th time using Durham Travel and it's always been a good experience. Designing and planning a trip is an iterative process. John always suggests options and takes the time to match our expectations to the plan through each iteration. He's always informative, polite and professional. I highly recommend Durham Travel regardless of how simple or complex your travels are.

Negative experience: I walked in to this place to get some help or information on booking a trip. The lady that talked to me was so rude and stand offish. I left this place feeling so down, I wouldn’t want to use this travel agency at all.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Durham Travel for almost two decades. We have always had a fantastic experience. Still having a store-front desk space with multiple agents means you can pop in anytime and ask away. They always have answers for questions and lots of information for whatever destination you are looking to travel to. Different agents have different expertise and they all come together to find the best trip for you! You can always call and double check info if needed. They are always welcoming to phone calls! We recently traveled to Cuba, there is lots of things happening with shortages. John made sure to call after our trip to find out exactly how everything was. ( Fantastic by the way, Iberostar Playa Pilar) They also always call after a trip to find out how it was, they use that info to help the next guest with their trip! Especially with resort life being very up and down, they like to know the true experience so they can share that with their other clients. 100% recommend! 40 trips later as a family and we will will always book here!!

Fantastic experience: Teresa was amazing! She supplied the four of us in our travel group excellent customer service from picking our location, to sending us leather suitcase tags with our initials on them to reminding us prior to the 24 hour mark to check in to our flights and select our seats for both arrival and departure as well as sending us an email during our vacation just to check in and make sure we were happy! I appreciated these special touches immensely. We loved Sandals Barbados! The resort was beautiful, the beach was breathtaking and the people that worked at the resort were incredible! The food was divine! My favourite restaurant on site was the Indian restaurant. I will definitely return to this resort and all future vacations I will definitely have Teresa arrange for us. I miss the double stand alone bathtub on our balcony at night listening to the crickets and the frogs serenade us while we sipped our wine. Oh the lovely sounds of Barbados! Fantastic experience: Wonderful place to spend a week with the family. The room was great. Pools were fantastic. The beach was great too. Plenty of room, nothing was too crowded. Great choice of restaurants, if you wanted something different or a change, and 2 buffet style restaurants, which had many options to choose from, and slightly different choices for food every lunch and dinner. Would stay again.

Fantastic experience: I recently booked an air plane ticket from Toronto to Auckland NZ. Sounds easy but there were many components involved. I.E. what class I could afford, what each class offered in comfort. Since the trip is long it's in 2 legs, so there was layover time, plane change, seat selection etc etc. Neil Cruickshank of Durham Travel very carefully walked me through the complete process, clarifying everything so wonderfully that I was able to complete the whole process within an extremely short time frame and to my total satisfaction. He is to be commended for his professionalism and his pleasant demeanor during all interactions. I would recommend him to anyone needing a great Travel Agent!!!

Fantastic experience: We have been using Durham Travel since they first opened. We have always had outstanding service and amazing vacations. After a two year hiatus from travelling due to Covid, we worked with Neil Cruickshank to find a warm destination in February. He spent time listening to what we like and sent us off to Paradisus Rio de Oro in Holguin Cuba. He gave us all the details on what we needed to do to travel there and answered any questions we had in a clear and timely fashion. We had such a good time we didn’t want to leave. Next, John and Neil had us on an amazing Mediterranean Cruise with Oceana. It was for a special occasion and had been deferred due to Covid. Once again they found a trip they knew would suit our tastes. We were guided through all of the steps and the trip went off without a hitch. Each port was outstanding . Oceana had excellent health safety protocols in place as was promised. The food and service was incredible , also as promised. I highly recommend Durham Travel.

Fantastic experience: Neil. It is a month and a day since we returned from Hawaii, thanks to you! Sorry for the delay in recognizing what a great job you did for us in our time of need. After my wife fell, I had tried to contact; a local travel agent, none exist anymore, a local Air Canada representative at the Kahlua airport, none exist anymore; Air Canada by phone, for hours, no response there anymore; the Air Canada WEB site, a monumental tangle of counter instructions and blind alleys. I was in despair, I could NOT get us off the island! So as a last resort, I email you, and in spite of the time zone challenges you understood our situation and took action to enable our 'evacuation' within a couple of days [ not easy even for the professionals?]. Our return trip then worked out smoothly. Thanks a million. If and when we do decide to travel again we will contact you and your office and hope you remain in business, to provide an invaluable service for travellers.

Fantastic experience: My flight got cancelled from the Bahamas back to Toronto due to a power surge with my airline in November. I hadn't left the hotel yet but my room access was just about up. I had to find alternative accommodations very quickly. I immediately contacted Neil. Neil.was absolutely wonderful and professional. Neil immediately sprung into action, shopping around for the best room rate for the night. In less than 15min, everything was done . He was able to secure a room at another hotel for the extra day. The hotel was safe, clean , secure and near Downtown Nassau. My room had a beautiful view of the beach across the street. By the time I made my way I over, the reservation was completed and my room was ready. I am very thankful everything Neil did. I started a search for travel agencies in the Newcastle area, and saw the Durham Travel Agency in Courtice. We always look for the smaller name people and decided to book an appointment with them. I had researched the choices in Las Vegas and we found a decent price for the Bellagio and asked Christine Herdsman to quote us on that and she did. We were rusty on the whole process, but Christine’s patience and professionalism made the experience 5 star in our book. I also had special needs as I have certain medical issues and needed some extra attention. We were accommodated to a tee, and our booking was painless and complete. There were followups done by Christine before we left on vacation and we had booked only a couple weeks prior to leaving. Christine even emailed us after getting back home, which I have never experienced before, a class act from a class company. We plan to always use Durham Travel for any and all travels in the future.
