Negative experience: We were trying to book a 70 person group wedding to DR. Initially we were dealing with a great agent but she went off on maternity leave. Our group was then handed over to another, this experience was not pleasant. We couldn't get call backs even after more than a week of reaching out and waiting, the agent seemed to get short with us or our guest when enquiring about putting down deposits. Truly made us feel like we were a burden and our wedding wasn't at all a priority. Went to another highly rated agency in the search and it's been exceptional service.

Fantastic experience: I've used Valente's twice for a trip to Malta. They did a good job at finding us the dates we wanted. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. There is a parking lot and even street parking right in front, but you have to pay a meter. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to plan a vacation or trip.

Rima it's disappointing that you would give us a 1-star for something that was out of our control and not our doing. All we did was issue an airline ticket for you. You were denied boarding from the airline for passport issues. We do not make up the rules even though we fought to get you a 1 year extension to re-book, and you were fully aware of this 1 year extension. Not our fault you called back AFTER that 1 year. The credit had expired. I applaud my staff for the effort to try to correct an issue you had with your documentation and had you re-booked within that year all would have been fine. We said "sorry" because we care about each and every one of our clients but can only do so much and what is in our control.

Fantastic experience: Hi Julie Bernie and I wanted to send you a heartfelt thank you for organizing a trip of a lifetime for us to Cook Islands, New Zealand and Fiji! From the cancelation of the original trip due to COVID, fighting for a refund for us during this time, and keeping us informed of the goings on with New Zealand opening up post COVID. You really went above and beyond to get this trip pulled together for us. We had such a wonderful time that created memories of a lifetime and strengthened our relationship as a couple too! The resort in Aitutaki Cook Islands was such and amazing start to our trip – we will have memories etched in our minds of the unbelievable turquoise blue ocean water our villa looked out on and the privacy and isolated feel of the private island. We moved on to start our journey through New Zealand, where highlights included the last minute visit you arranged from Auckland to Weheke island, which was such a great way to spend the first day of summer. Whitianga was super cool and scenic and thank you for getting us through the troubles with the glow worms tour – which was a very cool experience! You reassured us that we would not have trouble driving on the other side of the road when some of touring was required to be completed that way due to companies out of business from COVID, we actually did find it as easy to adjust to as you told us it would be and had no reason to be so nervous about it. The quaint area of Martinborough was so nice and we really enjoyed the personal service from the boutique hotel, where the bar tender even kept the bar open several hours late for us to enjoy ourselves. Glad we added the stop in Wellington – that was fun. In the South island we enjoyed the scenic isolated nature of the area – we asked for mountains and you sure delivered. A highlight was our treck through the Abel Tasman (even though I hurt my foot I still consider it a highlight!). The advice you provided in dealing with my injury on the trip saved the trip for us and we were able to get treatment and continue on only missing one tour! The George hotel in Christchurch made me feel like I was staying at the Ritz! Bernie was able to golf twice at some very amazing and scenic golf courses – and I was able to caddy for him. We went out with a big bang in Tokoriki Fiji! What an amazing resort that I give 10 stars. We felt like we were celebrities there – everyone knew our names from day one right down the landscapers! Truly a high end resort which we would recommend to anyone looking for some private isolated time at a luxury resort. So happy you arranged for us to be upgraded here to the private villa! It was so cool we didn’t even know we had neighbours it was that private and we had our own infinity pool and private beach area just for us. The pool was a life saver given that I couldn’t get into the ocean due to my foot injury. We couldn’t be any happier with the trip and have had a dream come true for us! As you know Valente Travel and you have been our agent for several years, but never for a trip this big! It is our pleasure to give Valente and 10 star rating and will continue recommend you and Valente to anyone we come in contact with and tell everyone about our amazing experience you arranged! Negative experience: Our experience with Valente has been absolutely terrible. We first requested contact over a month ago and were never contacted. We then followed up by phone a week later and reached someone who was supposed to call us back after they wrapped up with an in branch client - they didnt. Another week went by and we had to follow up again. We got to speak with someone this time who assured us they would work on our request "first thing in the morning" and call us back. Again, they didnt. After a few more days of waiting, we followed up yet again and were told we would hear back Monday March 5th. It is now March 16th and we have yet to receive that call. These are facts, draw what conclusions you may from our experience and navigate your choice of travel agency accordingly. A month should not go by without getting any assitance. I would be embarassed to own this business, and hear about the lack of professionalism, or even common courtesy, clients have to experience here. Do Better.

Thank you for your message Andrew and i will apologize if you feel like you've been intentionally ignored. That is certainly not the case. I believe you may be off with several of your facts. I am the owner of this office and take complaints like this very seriously. I have checked our phone logs and spoke to all of our agents and do not see any registered calls from you or your number. You say someone was going to get back to you on "Mon, March 5". March 5 is a Sat. Did you happen to get the agent's name in any of those calls? You did in fact email us (not call us as you said) on Feb 15th at 10:06pm. We replied to your email request the next morning at 11:12am. I have emailed you this correspondence for your reference. As you may recall you had asked about a honeymoon for the dates of "Feb 12-23". You did not give us the year so our agent assumed you meant 2023 (as you emailed us on Feb 15) and replied back to you stating that rates were not out yet but she will contact you when they were. (Rates generally don't come out for many airlines until about 9-10 months before travel). You did not reply to that email so maybe it went into your spam folder? Anyway our agent followed up and emailed you back middle of April to tell you that rates are now out for Feb 2023. That is when she got your email back stating that you had booked elsewhere. We can only assume because the date you gave us had already passed that it was for travel in 2023 and/or you decided not to follow up with her email. Again, it's pretty harsh to give us a 1* rating when you've never used us. If in fact you did call and didn't get a call back, again i show no record of that but if that happened I apologize. I trust that had you used our services you would have been happy as the overwhelming majority of our clients are but I'm guessing you've decided to move on. Best of luck on your honeymoon and i wish you nothing but the best in your future together.

Also with Jackie, booked a 7 day cruise this coming February 2023. My Mom and sister will be joining us for their first cruise ever. Hi Theresa, thanks for your comment however we did respond to your facebook message immediately on the day you returned. On March 23 at 8:51 am, Lisa in our office wrote: "Thanks for messaging us. We try to be as responsive as possible. We'll get back to you soon."...then shortly after at 11:36am, she followed up with the following..."Good Morning Theresa, We just want to know if you had a good trip, how you liked the resort/destination or it you had any problems along the way that we would need to know about. By our customers giving us feedback it allows us to keep up to date on things we may not be aware of to let the next person know." You then gave us your feedback which was the following..."I would highly recommend the resort. The staff was amazing. The location of everything was great and easy to get around. I would recommend they take bug spray. I have a few hundred Cuban Mosquito bites (noseeums). very annoying but Benadryl and numbing lotion are getting me through. Also, the food at the adult pool bar is phenomenal. Highly recommend it. I do feel bad for the 2 brides and the way the whole wedding situation was handled. I realized Jacki is no longer there and (in my opinion) that is a good thing. I believe there was a lot of extra stress put on the brides over situations that should have been handled differently. For example, neither of the brides were even told Jacki was with the company any more and we found out when they went to book excursions. A simple phone call to inform then the situation would have taken a few minutes. I won't even get into the timing of Air Transat pulling what they did yet when a few of us tweeted about it they wanted to know the details so they could look into it. All I know is there was a lot of extra stress we all went through but it ended up a perfect vacation and one of the happiest bridal days I have ever experienced".Later that day, i personally wrote back to you at 5:36pm (same day) the following..."So sorry about the confusion Theresa and the situation with Jackie. She (Jackie) assured us when she left that she was going to let the brides know that she had left, (but obviously didn't) and in retrospect we should have followed up sooner ourselves to let you know but we were left very short-staffed to be honest. However, really glad it worked out in the end and that you enjoyed the resort (minus the mosquitoes)!"That was our last exchange. In short, the travel agent you used is no longer with us and we did follow up after your trip as you can see above. I'm sorry you feel we're only worth a 2 star rating, but unfortunately i cannot control circumstances when an employee abruptly leaves our office and doesn't do what she said she would do. Negative experience: The service my husband and I received was very poor. After an unforeseen situation arose with our travel plans my husband emailed the travel agent to see what could be done so we wouldn't lose the entire value of our trip. She was less than helpful. I then personally called and spoke with her. She was rude, very short with me and not at all empathetic. It was very evident that she was more concerned with making a sale than gaining a customer. I even emailed her my concerns and she didn't even have the courtesy to email me back saying "I'm sorry you felt this way, thank you for your feedback, etc." My husband and I travel often and we will never again book with Valente Travel.

Positive experience: Used this place when I decided to go to Mexico with my wife for our honey mood. They did what they do I guess and got us what we we're looking but in a way I felt like they were pushing us towards a specific place as if they had a lot of space left and wanted the extra commission. Could be that and couldn't be I'm not sure that was the first time I went there and the first time I went to Mexico. We stayed at Grand sunset princess in riviera Maja and it was a great 1 week get away.

I'm very happy you enjoyed your vacation at the Grand Sunset Princess as it is a resort we recommend on a regular basis. Very few complaints there. I'm sorry to hear that you felt you were pushed in a certain direction due to extra commissions, but I can tell you that that is not a practice I preach here as we always want the client to get the best property / value for the amount of money they want to spend. In fact Sunwing (who is the wholesaler) pays us the same commission percentage on all Mexico properties. We don’t stress “preferred” resorts as some agencies may as we feel booking the best property for the dollar for our client will bring them back again and again. Negative experience: Terrible customer service. We had to rebook our trip due to the recent hurricane in the carribean (bahamas). Sandals was offering to book at any resort within 1 year yet our travel agent told us we could only rebook at Jamaica or Grenada resorts. Not sure why we were being offered less than what the resort we booked with was offering? care to explain valente? profit margins hmmm?...When we finally pushed for St Lucia we were given alot of pushback but finally got what we wanted...kinda...Upon travelling to toronto we had our passports stolen or lost which unfortunately is not covered by travel insurance...kinda odd seeing as how this probably happens to people. Well when we called the travel agent we were pressured and told we had to get rush passports and fly out the same week minus a couple days and no money back or we could rebook our 7 day vacation but only for 3 days. It took multiple conversations and metioning a lawsuit in order to get our 7 day vacation back and booked where we initially wanted in the bahamas. Each encounter with the travel agent was poor and we were not greeted or wished to have a good vacation. I do not expect to be pampered by the travel agent however a pleasant hello and goodby are normal for most human encounters. The travel agent seemed discusted by us and clearly did not care for our situation. I fully recommend book on your own or at least never think of booking with Valente. Upon discussion with other collegues I was told valente has a history of unpleasantries. Thankfully we were able to take our anniversary vacation but only after many unpleasant discussions and close to coming to arguments. Valente will gladly take your money but dont expect any service. Valente will also threaten to delete reviews like this and if they chose to that is their own doing as they are not transparent and quite opaque. Travel agents are in the service industry but valente is only in the money making industry. The receptionist was rude when I initially picked up my airline tickets and had to convince them that yes I was a paid customer and yes I had tickets to pick up. Unfortunately I have more decency then to mention names however the manager of the establishment needs to realize that he could be running a much more profitable business if he would change up some of the senior agents there, more specifically just one. Having worked in service all of our lives and managing service businesses my wife and I do not believe this agent is worthy to hold the title. As this is only the first review, I will also be submitting formal complaints to Sandals about how this agent was devious and attempted to push us to take less then our 7 day vacation and initially did not honour the same deal Sandals had offered when the hurricane hit. Thankfully my wife and I have a backbone and refuse to be pushed around by a less than half rate travel agent. Spend your money wisely folks because the experience we had was extremely stressful and completely lacking in service. You should not have to chase your travel agent around to get simple answers and solutions to common world problems. Thanks for nothing, we will not be back. Return business is an asset in the service industry and it is shame we could not develop a lasting relationship with a trusting company who legitimately want to do good business practices. Management of Valente please take note before you ask google to delete this review, Ill check back next month and repost if deleted.
