Fantastic experience: My partner and I decided we needed a break from the northern winter gloom and we're so delighted that Brooklyn Munson was able to help us design our upcoming vacation. She was prompt and professional even though she was handling a massive workload with a lot of others booking for the same reason as us post Christmas holidays. We are looking forward to our vacation and will be utilizing and referring Brooklyn's expertise for all of our vacation needs.

Negative experience: We did all the work, travel agent had no advice, no suggestions or opinions. Didn't even let us know that the price was changing and as a result had to pay $1K more because we tried to get back to her and she was OOO. We recently moved to Nanaimo we were testing this one out for bigger, longer trips. Needless to say we wont be using this travel agency.

I was deeply sorry to read your review. Our office has proudly served the Nanaimo community for over 40 years, and we do not take feedback like this lightly. Many of our clients have become more like friends and family to us over the years, and we always strive to provide a warm, knowledgeable, and seamless travel experience.
Upon reviewing your file, I noted several email exchanges — including communication that took place even while your agent was away attending a personal event out of town. We do understand how frustrating pricing fluctuations can be. Unfortunately, these changes are often out of our control, as they depend on real-time availability and inventory at the moment of booking. That said, we do our best to explain this clearly to all of our clients.

While we always submit all room requests to each tour operator, these are subject to availability at the time of check-in, particularly at properties where rooms are allocated on a “run of house” basis. In such cases, while requests are noted, they unfortunately cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Typically, front desk teams will invite guests to check back the following morning to explore possible room changes or alternative solutions, depending on availability. I'm sorry if this option wasn't made clear or didn't lead to a satisfactory outcome during your stay.

Fantastic experience: This week I visited the Marlin Travel office at the Country Club mall in Nanaimo and talked at the desk with Brittany. My request was whether they could organize a 2-days curator itinerary for the end of December when our granddaughter will visit us in Nanaimo for the first time. Whilst the agency was not able to do this type of customized program, Brittany was extremely helpful and kindly provided me with very good ideas and suggestions which are being very useful to plan a journey including major highlights in Victoria. I’m very grateful to Brittany who was diligent snd open minded, kindly providing advices beyond the limits of the travel agency services. Thank you Brittany!
Negative experience: Spoke to an agent about a snorkelling trip. I explained to her that I had made several trips to various locations so we could narrow it down. She told me she would do some research and get back to me "in a few days". That was three months ago. Crickets.

Positive experience: Was not happy with the recommended hotel in Mexico. Got no response when home , from agent. No follow up. Would not go with this company again.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Marlin Travel. I had Barb recently make arrangements for Holiday to N.Z. Within days flights had to be rearranged,rebooked on short notice because of urgent family matter. When I informed Barb of changes that were required she was very accommodating and had new arrangements in place promptly.Thus it was a great relief for myself that plans came together in such a short time period.It meant a lot to me be there sooner than later! Greatly Appreciated!
Negative experience: Was looking to book a 10 day vacation with my partner after looking at reviews online. Once we got there we saw it was by appointment only which wasn't stated on their website. They greeted us and said to come back in 30 minutes. We came back 30 mins later and waited for 1.5 hours as they took someone else while we were waiting and didn't apologize or let us know it would be any longer. Will be looking to go with another travel agency.
