Fantastic experience: Guide Jasper was perfect. Our original whale watching reservation with another company got mixed up and lost, Hanna at Springtide squeezed our group of 10 in on the spot on one of their Zodiacs. We had kids, adults and senior citizens and had a wonderful time. We saw orcas, humpback whales, sea lions and seals.

Fantastic experience: I can not say enough about this tour group. The staff are amazing. Big shout out to Katie, Aly, Ian and Jonas. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We were fortunate enough to see Ollie the resident otter, a pod of humpback whales, a pod of Orcas and a large number of seals. If you have the opportunity do yourself a favour and book a tour with this great group. You will not be disappointed

We saw humpback whales, sea lions, harbour seals and a family of orca whales. The ride was not too rocky and very enjoyable. Beautiful views of Mount Baker and the North Pacific Ocean

Fantastic experience: We had a great tour with Jaspir, Katie, and Moly. We were fortunate to see several humpback whales in beautiful weather. There was always attention paid to giving the whales and sea lions enough space. The information and care on the ship were excellent. You could feel the crew's great enthusiasm for nature and the animals. It was a wonderful experience that we can only recommend with Springtide.

Jasper, our able bodied captain also provided lots of insight. Aly was very professional. We saw something like seven different humpbacks and an orca getting his dinner in the form of a seal. Fantastic experience: What a day! Captain Kate brought us out into wide open water & following the prompt of an Orca tail, she steered the zodiac over. The next hour plus was a breathtaking display of playful or a fun - a T party - we were told when pods become one family as if for our joy. Thank you Kate. Your skill and excitement made our day.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful tour with SpringTide Friday afternoon,September 20 with Aly and Katie sharing interesting facts and information as our naturalists and Jasper the Captain with the help of everyone on board tracking down over 8 humpbacks and Nielsen the lone orca hunting a sea lion! We were so lucky to see the these amazing creatures led by the fabulous crew!

Fantastic experience: I was able to achieve my bucket list because of springtide! They were so helpful and Ian was amazing in showing us how to spot the whales. It was an amazing time to share with my daughter and we were so lucky to spot whales! In case you get a cancelled reservation from other companies try calling springtide they all work together in filling up enough boats to go out for the day!. I would definitely recommend springtide for anyone looking to book in Victoria. We rode on the zodiac and it was so much fun with my 12 year old! Can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Last week on 3rd Oct 2023 we went out with the crew , they were all friendly, polite, professional and knowledgeable from the minute we walked into the office. We were very excited at the prospect of seeing some Orcas and if lucky enough some Humpbacks. It was a clear sunny calm day just perfect, we set off , not a full boat so plenty of room to move around. Coffee and Tea available, washroom and you can borrow a jacket and pants if you need to as it does get chillier once they get moving. We indeed were lucky saw a pod of Orcas ( identifed by crew as IT23), and Humpbacks and a Humpback even breeched right in front of us, It was wonderful. So glad I chose to watch and live it rather than try and take pics the whole time. The time flew by and both my husband and I loved every minute. Well worth the money.

Fantastic experience: We went on the Sept 1/23 2pm tour and it was nothing less than AMAZING. We saw 3 hump back whales. Two who were extremely playful and very interactive with our boat. So gentle and entertaining. Understandably, not every tour will be a once in a lifetime experience, such as ours. The crew were so extremely knowledgeable and friendly that it made the trip even more memorable. Great job to the Captain, and naturalists Sophie & Katie.

Fantastic experience: We had a brilliant afternoon! Even though the weather was a little rainy and cool we were able to borrow jackets and trousers to keep us warm and dry. We saw a number of hump back whales and orcas .. it was incredible and our guide Katie was great. I was worried about being sea sick but I really didn’t need to be as our trip was very smooth and the waters calm.

Fantastic experience: Great experience on the water, saw many Humpbacks and learned a little about the marine environment. They provided some hot chocolate, tea and coffee on board, as well they had extra layers for passengers not prepared for the cooler conditions out at sea. If I could make one recommendation to the operator, it would be nice to also have water on board as well.

Fantastic experience: Had a wicked time on the Zodiak Adventure. Well worth the money. My group was very fortunate as we got to see a baby whale that was breaching for about 15 minutes consecutively. Jasper was great and was very good at gathering everyone’s attention. Jasper was also very informative and knowledgeable about a lot! Would highly recommend, I would do this tour again without a doubt!

Katie and Kate(I think) were our guides and did a super job, very kind and knowledgeable. Also Linda the photographer were lovely. We saw humpback whales, seals, sea lions, Waldo the sea otter and all in all it was just great! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with them, from the moment we walked in for some information till the moment we walked off the boat. We seen one whale floating around the boat for at least 30 minutes before we moved on to come across a whale that was kelping and also floated around the boat for at least half a hour. After that we continued the trip towards the Little Rock formations with 3 types of seals and a sea otter. We had a wonderful day with the crew and the weather was great.

Fantastic experience: We grabbed two seats on the zodiac adventure and Tyson was our captain! He was very friendly upbeat and easy going, he didn't chat our heads off and let us enjoy the silence and the beautiful scenery. Thanks so much for such a magical experience, humpback whales, and killer whales, seals and the most spectacular sunset I've ever seen ever. The movie life of pi? The sunsets, the colors, it's identical. 10/10 my only complaint is there's really no age restriction, so we had to accommodate the little one who would scream if we went to fast, and honestly I paid 300 to go fast. If I wasn't going to see whales I wanted a zodiac adventure, not me feeling horrible the entire time the kids screaming and ruining videos. I do wish it was cheaper if you have no age restrictions. I brought my 14 year old son and the little ones talking non stop and side eyeing the captain to slow down spoiled it for him, we came to get away from his little siblings....

Fantastic experience: The tour was beyond my expectations as I did not expect a lot and was prepared not to see any whales. But the captain made it to the right spot in the right time, we saw four creatures you would never meet in any zoo. Stuff was friendly and gave a lot of explanations. Be careful with weather - take an extra layer of clothes. I watched passengers wrapping up with all possible piece of cloth.

Fantastic experience: What a great trip! We took a sunset tour on the zodiac and it was fantastic. Our skipper, Tyson, was knowledgeable and engaging and got us to prime whale watching locations where we saw orcas hunting, as well as, a few humpbacks on our way back to the harbor. Such a good time if you're looking for a fun adventure in Victoria!

Fantastic experience: Our family of 4 was originally scheduled with Five Star Whale Watch but due to a mechanical issue they moved us to SpringTide. All staff on the trip were friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to enjoy the job. They were prompt, gave an informative but fun safety talk. The boat was clean. Snacks and extra jackets were offered. They even had suggestions about seating for stability and wetness. We all enjoyed the boat ride as it was a smooth beautiful day ( both fig and sunshine in same trip) Saw seals, sea lions, porpoises, and humpback whale and many different birds. Great trip.

Fantastic experience: Knowledge, engaging crew and captain, easy to book and board. Great view from anywhere on the Marauder IV. We lucked out and got a "once-per-year" spectacle from "Divot" (sp?), a grandmother humpback. Lots of breaching and fin-slapping, plus some sea lions and a local sea otter. Highly recommended.

Positive experience: It was mine and my son's first time to the island and so many people told us to go whale watching. Springtide wasn't our first choice but I'm so glad we ended up doing a tour with them! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: SpringTide let us redeem our "It's a Fluke" from a previous visit back in 2019. We went in today with no expectations and were in absolute awe to have the privilege of watching a calf learning to tail-flip. To experience Mom's tail coming out of the water once was incredible, but to see it happen over and over again was beyond words. The captains positioned the boat with great expertise and were very patient in letting us watch. The staff were kind and very knowledgeable. A majestic memory we will treasure forever!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I had an incredible time aboard Marauder. The captain and crew were a joy to be around and it was easy to tell they were all deeply passionate about the wildlife. We saw loads of humpbacks, porpoises, sea lions other creatures that call the Salish sea home. I was super impressed by the hospitality on board. We were offered hot beverages and warm clothing but most of all it was the crew’s eagerness to answer questions in detail that was the highlight of the tour. 10/10 would recommend whale watching with Springtide!

Fantastic experience: Unreal experience! The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly, thank you Kate, Katie and the whole crew! We saw seven Humpback whales, and one even gave us a little wave. My boyfriend and I did a two-week cross-Canada tour and drove from Ontario. Visiting Victoria was our favourite part of the trip. We can't wait to come back!

Fantastic experience: Excellent whale watching tour company. We took the larger of the two boat options. It was comfortable and spacious. We saw at least 10 humpback whales as well as seals. Highly recommended. Complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were included. The trip time was 3 hours. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: The entire day was relaxing and fun. The boat ride by itself is enjoyable, and they have some jackets and pants if people don’t bring enough layers for any reason. We saw lots of humpback whales, porpoises, and seals. We will do this again next time we have family visit. Well worth the trip.

Fantastic experience: the tour was great! the stuff was friendly and had deep knowledge about the animals and the landscape. especially wilma was amazing! we were able to see orcas, sea lions and a wonderful landscape. during the trip you are provided with free coffee and hot chocolate. if you are hungry there is an opportunity to get snacks but of course these are not free. one note: please make sure to bring warm clothes with you. you will be on the sea around five hours and it can be really windy. overall we had an amazing time and would recommend this trip for everyone!

Fantastic experience: Visited on July 3rd, 23. Tyson was our skipper and boy, he's a born entertainer! What a great experience & I can happily check this off my bucket list. We saw a pod of Orcas(4-5), A massive Humpback Whale, Several Seals, & a wonderful scenic view. I rode the Zodiac and it's the perfect choice if you want some thrill in this adventure!

Fantastic experience: We eagerly gathered at the office first thing in the morning to walk down to the boat. It was organised and friendly. The captain was great (Ian I think from the UK) and his crew were awesome. The trip was very fruitful and we saw seals, sea lions, and lots and lots of humpback whales!!!! There were at least 5 which was apparently unusual for this time of year. Very well organised and lots of great information on the way back showing examples of whale artefacts.

Fantastic experience: We had an absolutely amazing experience with SpringTide. Every one of their staff members were so friendly and helpful, we were smiling from start to finish. We were lucky enough to see Humpbacks, Orcas and even a Gray Whale! Not to mention all of the other amazing biodiversity the area has to offer. What really made the experience special was the knowledge and excitement from the Captain and Crew, they really welcomed us into their world and helped us appreciate the magic of the Salish Sea. You cannot visit Victoria without going on a tour with SpringTide Whale Watching!

Fantastic experience: This was a bucket list item checked off for sure. The one thing I wanted to do the most in Victoria was go whale watching, and to our luck the weather was impeccable the day we went, it was sunny and warm. The boat ride was so therapeutic and the scenery is breathtaking. We managed to see humpback whales and sea lions. Unfortunately we did not see any Orcas which was a little sad. But overall this is truly a unforgettable experience I definitely recommend anyone visiting BC, specifically Victoria, to go whale watching.

Fantastic experience: They're very good and we were able to spot humpback whales and their team was persistent enough to take us further into sea when we didn't find them at the first spot, journey was around 3hrs. Heather was a good guide and the entire team was wearing smile all times and helping people on board.

They said our tour was one of the best tours they had done in years because we just had such great weather to find them and they were so active. So many whales to see and very knowledgable staff. Fantastic experience: This tour is worth every penny. The staff know their stuff. They are safety aware and the naturalists on board provide excellent details about the marine life you see while out there. The captain and crew work very hard to gi e the best experience. We saw a humpback breach fully out of the ocean and it is a sight I will remember forever.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time showing our parents the beautiful Pacific Ocean! From check-in with Erin, Izzy’s witty puns, Heather’s knowledge, and captain Ian’s expert whale tracking, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect trip. I have been a couple other times with other whale watching companies, and I thought it was normal to spend over an hour (out of a 3 hour trip) just to get out on the water to where the whales are... it was such a relief to be able to spend most of our tour time ACTUALLY watching humpback whales! They even provided free buffs for all passengers during COVID, and the boats were at less than half capacity, which made for the ultimate viewing experience— no competing for views with other passengers! It felt very comfortable and like they were properly following procedure. All in all, I definitely plan on coming back to SpringTide again; I can’t explain just how impressed I was with their services, especially compared to other companies in the harbour.

Fantastic experience: (Visited September 2019) My wife and I took part in the Zodiac Tour and absolutely loved the entire experience. The staff in the centre were really friendly and helpful and Alex our captain was fantastic as well. We got to see a humpback whale just out of the harbour and then got to go out and see a pod of Orca’s which was amazing.

Fantastic experience: We had a great time with SpringTide Whale Watching, definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Victoria. These people make sure that you are exposed to as much wildlife as possible during the experience. We chose to go on the Marauder IV yacht but still were able to see just as much as the zodiacs - although going on the zodiaks looks really fun! Great service all the way from booking through to docking.

Fantastic experience: Amazing! Spent the morning with captain Ian, he took us out and we saw humpbacks and sea lions, and killer whale. He took the time to talk to us and give us some info on these amazing animals. They work closely with other tour groups to find the animals, This is a once in a lifetime experience and a must.

The captain was so knowledgeable of the whales, different environments and cool secret spots. The boat was so fun and fast.. and safe! We saw SO MANY Whales and saw whales jumping out of the water. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Not only did we see tons of whales, we saw eagles, seals, and sea lions. Even as a Victoria local, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour!!!

Fantastic experience: These guys were great. Originally told me no because I was traveling with my parents (70+) and my 8 year old and we wanted to go in November but when the day came and the weather was good they actually called me. Then we missed the early feet from Vancouver so they waited for us to arrive. Ian was the captain, made us feel all very welcome and safe, they put us in giant full body flotation suits an doff we went. 3 hours out to Race Rock off the point of Vancouver island, out into the middle of the Strait if Juan de Fuca, back to the Trial Islands and back to Port. Lots of sea lions, seals, bald eagles, and even got to chase some porpoises. It was cold... but the suits did a good job of insulating you so it wasn't feeling and a bit wet... But that was all expected right? We were on the open ocean in November!! Highly recommend experience!

Fantastic experience: I had absolutely the most amazing trip with SpringTide! The staff were friendly and professional - while the whales were going through a small channel where boats couldn't enter, they took us over to Race Rocks to view seals, sea lions, and even a sea otter! All during the time some other whale watching companies were just sitting and waiting for the whales to come out the other side of the channel. Such a great trip - worth every penny!
