Fantastic experience: Great tour by Andy (owner/operator) - some wonderful food stops owned and operated my local chefs/families and great inclusion of some history of Victoria. Highly recommend this tour - and if you can, do it early in your time in the city as Andy has a great list of restaurants to try out while you are here!

Fantastic experience: We booked the tour during a very slow period and were the only two on the tour. That didn't dampen tour guide Andy's enthusiasm. The information and food were both excellent and we came away knowing Victoria much more intimately. I highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic experience: Whenever I go to a new town or place, I would just walk around and go to places to eat, with the help of google’s and blogger’s recommendations of course. So this is actually my first food tour ever and so far, the bar’s set so high up. Andy’s amazing, and that’s an understatement. The food’s, of course, delectable. All our preferences and allergies were listened to and expectations were met. We liked that it wasn’t just a boring food tour, but it was a heritage walk as well. It was a very informative and scrumptious outing. Highly recommend this organization. Thank you so much Andy!

Positive experience: Our guide was awesome and the tour was great! One thing though, I was expecting to taste some Chinese food as our tour was through Chinatown, but all the food was of other origin that were sold by other immigrants.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I had an opportunity for a get away weekend and food tours are a great way to explore the area and find the food gems in a city. Andy was superb from start to finish. Some highlights: * I received clear directions on where to go and what to expect along with a reminder email * Andy was there early to welcome attendees and once we got started he described exactly what we would be doing * I was surprised to see how many attendees were back for their 2nd or 3rd time over a period of many years. Shows how good they felt it was. * Each stop was clearly explained and the food was of sufficient quantity to allow you to really experience it. * Along the way we learned a good bit about Victoria history * At each place we stopped not only were they ready for us, but the proprietor stepped out to tell us more about their business, what they do, and why they do it. * At the end, Andy had a QR code which allowed us to capture in Google Maps a recap of where we had been so that we could go back on subsequent days (which we did to several of them). The guide also had a list of other suggestions that were not on the tour this time -- or were other local favorities. We checked several of them out like "Floyd's Diner" and "Churchill's Pub" and were not disappointed. * As a final example of superb customer service....we wanted to take back a nice bottle of wine to thank the neighbors who were caring for our dogs. Andy had suggested a specific winery and told me what shops I could look at. I forgot the name and emailed him that same evening. He promptly replied to my email with the info I needed and we picked up the wine on our way out of town. This was a fantastic way to start our Victoria vacation. We're already planning to take our college aged kids with us on a future tour. I can't recommend A Taste of Victoria Food Tour highly enough!

The food selections were delicious and varied, the history and storytelling was lively, fun, and engaging. Andy did a great job with all ages and has a genuine passion for sharing his hometown with visitors. Don’t book any other tour, just make sure you get in to this one! We went back to more than half of the vendors over the next day. And the bonus link to Andy’s recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing, high tea, etc were so helpful on our trip. Only wish we’d had it the day we arrived!! A must-not-miss in Victoria!

The 7 stops we visited were a good mix of historic, established, and new; sweet and savory. It was a good amount of food where you felt you could eat all of it but were not hungry by the end. I would definitely go again to visit some of the other stops in his rotation!

Fantastic experience: We had so much fun with A Taste of Victoria’s Food Tour! Andy was so passionate, taking us to SEVEN of his favourite local gems. I can’t emphasize enough that even as a Victoria local (and dare I call myself a Foodie) I have never been to most of these places! I was BLOWN AWAY at the selection of vendors we visited. Real top notch. Andy has a total of 15 vendors he rotates through and each place always serves up something different, so every tour will vary in the best way possible! After the tour Andy gives you a list of all the places you went, the rest of his vendors to visit on your own, and even discounts to try at other local establishments, just because you went on the tour! We absolutely recommend this tour to anyone, tourist or local!!!

Fantastic experience: Taste Buds Allured! Tour guide, Andy was great! His energy and enthusiasm for the city, its history and current vibe made the experience very enjoyable. Andy introduced the group to delectable sweets, savory samples and healthful and indulgent elixirs from cuisines around the globe. All of which for travelers could be considered hidden gems in the wide open. The tour is well worth the time and cost. Although I wandered and walked the entire city solo, I'd have missed all but one of the spots had I not joined this tour. Tip: Be sure to join the tour hungry, otherwise you could miss the fabulousness of the experience.

Fantastic experience: This tour was fantastic -- Andy himself, his food & drink selections, and the history we learned along the way. Andy was friendly, entertaining and very knowledgeable. You can tell he's incredibly passionate about his city & was excited to share as much info as possible with us in the 2 hours. He told us some great stories about the city, the buildings/streets, and the people. The food on the tour was delicious, plentiful and perfectly ordered between savory & sweet. Even Andy's intro of the food and the background on the restaurant/owners was so interesting to hear. My partner had the regular tasting & I asked for vegetarian -- I've never had such a great vegetarian experience on a food tour before (in fact, I expected not to be catered for as well, which has generally been the case on my previous food tours, so I ate breakfast right before -- big mistake as I ate a LOT of great food on this tour!). Andy didn't ask for tips at the end, but we do know it's customary to tip in North America. We didn't have any cash and we assumed there would be an electronic method to tip, but there wasn't, and we've never felt so bad because of just how good Andy & the tour was. We'd highly recommend this tour for both tourists and locals. Thanks for a great day Andy!

Was a perfect way to have lunch and be together with our friends and also learn a bit about Victoria history. Food tasting was excellent! Andy did everything he said he would do and showed us some new spots to get some great food!

Fantastic experience: Very well done! Felt like it was a good mix between learning the history of the area and getting to try a lot of local, yummy treats. Everything we ate was so unique and different from what I would normally order, I enjoyed trying new items. We went as a family of 3, with our 16-month old daughter in a stroller and didn't have any problems. Andy was so authentic and easy going and made the time a true joy. Highly recommend the tour to visitors and locals alike!

My only minor complaint was when we paused for some history in the Fan Tan Alley. We were very close to a Philipino bakery that smelled divine. It was a bit of a distraction from the really interesting history that Andy was sharing. Plus, I wanted some of the bread.

The food was fantastic, and there was a lot of variety. We were full by the end of it! Although we live here we didn’t go to a single location we had visited before. Fantastic experience: A Taste of Victoria Food Tour with Andy (the owner) was a highlight of our day. We had 6 excellent food tastes that I would have never got to try without going on this tour. Andy was friendly, knowledgable, accommodating. We left very full and loving Victoria even more than we did before the tour. We loved that Andy lives in the area and took us to local places that love food, love making a fresh, remarkable product, and love to share it with others.

Fantastic experience: I've only taken one food tour previously in Rome and loved it. Andy our guide and tour owner was fabulous, immensed us in local history and background of the area and the restaurants etc where we visited. Including a back alley..., The food - an eclectic variety, so delicious I returned the following day to two locations for lunch, dinner and the patisserie ou-la-la was directly from France! I highly recommend this " Taste of Victoria"

Fantastic experience: Andy said he grew up locally so he had inside knowledge of the food/stories of Chinatown and downtown Victoria area. We loved the range of foods/drinks/dessert we tasted as we walked along. He accommodated lactose free and vegetarian folks. You won't need much dinner after taking this informative tour. Fantastic experience: We decided to do this tour while in Victoria after reading reviews online and we were not disappointed. The tour guide, Andy, is also the owner of this company and he is very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour takes two hours, where participants slowly walk from one speciality cafe to the next. The tastings are delicious and in good sized portions. Very highly recommend this tour. Great job Andy!

Fantastic experience: This tour far exceeded our expectations. Andy is an excellent tour guide and his knowledge of the area (born and raised there) made for an interesting tour - plus the food was FANTASTIC! As I had read in previous reviews, don't eat before you take this tour - the food is excellent and plentiful... And because most were small locally owned establishments we would have never known about, it was especially nice to sample their cuisine and meet them personally. We didn't have much time in beautiful Victoria but this tour was a superb into to the city. Also, I am a wheelchair user and there was another on our tour as well - and Andy was very tuned into our needs and mobility challenges and we had no problems participating with this tour.
