Fantastic experience: Very good tour with an experienced guide. We saw whales, orcas, seals, and sea lions, and this was done with the necessary respect for the animals. It was a great pleasure for us to see that the guide enjoyed spotting the animals himself. The boats are narrow, allowing you to look well on both sides of the boat (we were on the BC Tica boat). A real recommendation.

Fantastic experience: Last week we had the opportunity to do the tour with Captain Jim. Our expectations before the activity were low, knowing sometimes it is complicated to see whales. However, we were very grateful for the amount of whales that we saw. We saw Orcas, humpback whales, sea Lions and seals. The explanations from Captain Jim were very interesting and doing the tour in a Zodiac was a really good choice. We went really fast to the places in which there could be whales. Thank you very much Captain Jim!

Fantastic experience: How awesome! I saw some humpback whales today. How cool!!!!! Captain Jim was perfect! I loved the space suits that’s were so graciously provided! This was the best time. The fog was heavy at the start and for most of the trip but it was so cool. We could hear the whales blowing but couldn’t spot them in a lot of cases. It was amazing. We were able to get several sightings, amazing. We went to “sea lion island,” at least that’s what I’m calling it! It’s really called Race Rock. Sea lions!!! How COOL! So loud!!! Do this for sure!!! Very enjoyable!

Fantastic experience: I can only give 5 stars, we saw everything, orcas, whales, California sea lions, and much more, the captain was excellent in explaining everything. Obviously, the tour is in English due to the presence of tourists from all over the world, but the English he used to explain things was really simple and understandable. I really recommend it to everyone!!

Fantastic experience: We had a great tour with Captain Brad on the BC Orca. The weather was amazing and Brad quickly took us to the first orcas. The boat is also great. 700 horsepower and very quiet. Good for both humans and animals. The highlight was the humpback whale that was in a playful mood. Great experience. Great provider. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: We had a great tour today! We saw a pod of orcas hunting, Scuttle the solo humpback and then a group of humpbacks further up the straight. Captain shut off the engine and we got to listen and watch the humpbacks all around us. Very cool experience!!

Fantastic experience: BC Whale Tours Victoria offers amazing tours for whale watching. Our captain was the very professional and knowledgeable Brad. He managed to find two pods of orcas and explained in detail the interaction between 2 families of them meeting and greeting. On the way back, he managed to find a few humpback whales breaching and showing us their grand beauty. This was an experience of a lifetime for my wife and I on our anniversary. The boat was clean and comfortable and we felt safe and in great hands with Brad.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with BC Whale Tours and would especially point out how enthusiastic and friendly our captain Brad was. He explained so much not only about Orcas, but also about Harbour Seals, Birds, the whole eco system and the harbour itself. We felt in good and safe hands and were able to follow a pod of 10-11 Oracs for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Brad was even able to identify them and tell us to which family they belong. He also respected the regulations when it came to keeping distance to these amazing animals, which is important to us as well. Thanks you Brad and BC Whale Tours.

Fantastic experience: Captain Gordon, you've done it again!!! We were so privileged to have him as our Captain. Pleasant, knowledgeable, and so engaging with our children. It was absolutely fantastic. We had what some might call the "tour of the year". A ?pod? of dolphins, two humpback whales, and the most unbelievable orca experience ever. Two pods (CA & BC) and transients all together, communicating above the water. There must have been 2 dozen of all different sizes. It was unforgettable. Truly a feather in the captain's hat. Fantastic experience: We went on this amazing wildlife trip with BC Whale tours last week. My family and I really enjoyed the thrill of the super fast BC ORCA boat. It was such an incredible opportunity to learn about the marine wildlife from captain Harold, who was very knowledgeable about marine wildlife and the west coast. We had so much fun and we would definitely go again on this trip when we visit Victoria again. Thank you BC Whale Tours for such an amazing experience!

Fantastic experience: Went on BC luna with a 6 and 3 year old. Inside cabin was perfect for them. A little bumpy but very manageable. Kids got a bit stir crazy not being able to run around but were excited to see the whales and were able to move around the boat safely with one parent hovering. Definitely had to hang on to kids while the boat was moving however. Brought food and warm clothing. Saw orcas, humpbacks, and seals. Captain had the appropriate don't-gun-it toward the whales approach as opposed to other companies. Very accommodating. Appropriate level of adventure for small kids. Highly recommended. It was fantastic!

Fantastic experience: Captain Jimmy was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We had incredible humpback sightings, but unfortunately the orcas were hiding yesterday. Up close to hear and smell the sea lions. These boats provided a great, uncrowded experience. There was dry storage under the seats and only 2 to a seat, for great viewing all around. We felt safe, comfortable and warm - would definately recommend this to others!

Fantastic experience: We had a really great experience on the water with BC Whale Tours and captain Grant. The boat was great and a much smoother ride than we anticipated. The suit kept us warm and their is a bathroom on board. I wouldn't plan to use it but it's nice knowing it's there of necessary. During the tour we saw 4 Orcas, about a dozen humpbacks, and spent ample time by the lighthouse observing (and smelling) the sea lions and seals. Captain Grant provided great information and had good feel for how long to spend in each area. Knowing what we know now, we would absolutely book with them again

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing whale watching trip. We were so lucky to have absolutely beautiful weather and such calm water! We got to spend time with a humpback whale and we also got to see sea lions and seals and we were in the midst of a harbour porpoise feeding frenzy which meant we saw so many porpoise all around us. It was a real delight. Gordon was our captain and he was kind, gentle, humorous and fun, paying special attention to the kids on board. It was a small group of only 8 of us so everyone had plenty of space. Just based off my own personal experience I would really recommend this company and a lovely morning tour.

Fantastic experience: We loved it! BC Tika is a fun and fast ship and the provided survival overalls are warm and cozy. Jimmy did everything to make this a great experience. Much better than the big boats, if you like some action (we didn’t get wet at all!).

Fantastic experience: My partner and I had a fantastic experience with BC Whale Tours this week. We saw sealions, a grey whale and orcas, including a large male and a family of four. The company equipped us well with warm, protective suits. The captain, Mark, was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about marine conservation. He went above an beyond to take us to the spot of an orca sighting earlier in the day, which was well worth the extra time and appreciated by all. We would highly recommend this trip.

Fantastic experience: I selected this company on the basis of other Google reviews. I was very lucky with the weather (warm, sunny & relatively calm) and impressed by the ease of booking on line & the helpfulness of the staff. The "Orca" was perfect size & captained by Brad a veteran of 20 years in this business. We saw nothing for the first hour or so but Brad's experience and knowledge ensured that we were not disappointed. Altogether we had three+ sightings saving the best for last, a well known mother & calf (her 5th) who have been returning to this area for years. Greg was the perfect "host" who kept us well informed, and safe! NOTE: a cell phone camera will not do justice to the scenery or sightings!

Fantastic experience: There are many whale tour options in Victoria. I chose them because they had the best rating and now I know why. I love Zodiaks, you are closer to the water and the ride is fun. Our captain was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the types of aquatic life we came into contact with. We saw orcas, humpbacks, walruses and seals. It was a great trip and i would recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I had an excellent time, provided life suits helped with the chill out on the open water. The TIKA zodiac travelled very fast and was fun even without the added bonus of actually seeing a whale. Boat operator was cool and courteous of the other whale companies on the water, ensuring we offered a chance for other company clients to get a view as well. All in had a great time!

Positive experience: The tour was ok. We saw humpback whales. Our captain thinks speaking to the whale.... "come on big boy show us your tail" is helpful. NOT HELPFUL. Every video I had featured his ridiculous baby talk. Very dissapointing.

Fantastic experience: Saw transient or Biggs killer whales (matriarch 109A, her adult daughter and two juveniles), harbor seals, sea lions, shore birds and lots of great views. Shoutout to Captain Jimmy of the Tika. Truly a great way to make memories and spend time in awe of our natural wonders here in the PNW. Key info - the captains are very experienced and know the area well. Ours handled the boat in rough winds and white caps like a champ. There is also a bathroom on board! Oh and they give you marine/survival suits to keep you warm and safe. I'm a bigger lady (20w), my husband is 6'3", and my mom is petite at 5", and they had plenty to fit us all.

Fantastic experience: I went here in the summer for my dads birthday and the staff were so kind and fun to chat with, my sister had an anxiety attack and the staff comforted her. We saw a lot of orca families!! The way back got pretty bumpy, but it was a fun experience! :))

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! We saw 2 species of whales, humpbacks and orcas. The captain, Gord, was great and got as excited as the rest of us when the whales were near by. He was very respectful to give the animals space. If the whales approached the boat, the motors were turned off. At one point, the humpbacks used the boat to block the krill from escaping and scooped them up right next to us. I think they enjoyed checking us out as much as we enjoyed watching them. Gord was able to point out several pairs of humpbacks along the way up toward Sooke. Just outside the Sooks Pointe Resort, we met up with a 2 pods of orcas swimming along the shore. There was a huge male with a dorsal fin 5 ft tall. Spectacular to see. There was a baby and mom and 2 or 3 others. Oh, and did I mention the scenery. There is nothing like exploring Vancouver Island from the water. Best way to spend the day in a heat wave. Easy location, right downtown Victoria, in the harbour. Felt safe the entire time and no one got sick. Definitely recommend this outfit.

Our guide Gordan was respectful of the whales whilst getting us close and letting us observe several humpbacks. Gordan was so knowledgeable of the residents and transients. Fantastic experience: Great time spent on the water with a company that is respectful of the whales. We saw Orcas on our trip in April but told there are other types of whales depending on the season. On a windy day be prepared for a fun choppy ride!

Fantastic experience: We booked the whale watching on the “gentle” and more comfortable boat Luna, which we recommend for families, as we could freely move around and decide whether to sit outside or inside. We saw a group of Orca whales and also had the impression that our captain Grant took care not to disturb the animals, while explaining amongst others the differences between migrating and residential orcas. He and Tarah were open to answer any question, so it was altogether super-informative. We also spent a bit longer on the boat, as the distance to the whales had been rather long and we had quite some time to watch the whales before heading back.

Positive experience: It was a bit more expensive then I would have liked but I had a really fun time whale watching! 5 stars for the experience, 3 stars for price, so 4 stars seems fair XD

We were extremely lucky to see 2 pods of very playful Orcas, and Jeevan went out of his way to ensure we had a chance to see Scratchy the Humpback whale. It was a comfortable (albeit very choppy) ride and we are very grateful to have gleaned a lot of information from our knowledgable and friendly captain. Would highly recommend the experience to anyone seeking out a little adventure during their travels!

Negative experience: I had been looking forward to this trip for months. We got a return ferry from Port Angeles and spent the night in Victoria to do this trip with the expectation of seeing orca whales as this is a guarantee the company has. We were out for 4 hours and didn’t see any orcas. I felt very let down, I could tell the captain was trying hard to find us orcas. We saw a bald eagle, some sea lions and the scenery is beautiful but I could have seen these things without being on a boat. Yes a perk to this company is a free ticket on standby that can be used any time but I’m not sure if I’ll be ever back this direction as this was part of a road trip and I live on the east coast. We didn’t get the 20% back either. I think this is because there was a 20% off deal on during the months of April and May. Felt like I wasted a couple hundred dollars.
