Fantastic experience: We took a group of 18 high school students from Ontario to Montagne D'Argent for a camping Outdoor Ed trip. Facility was amazing, and the Instruction and Support from La Liberte Nord Sud was exceptional. From full service rental equipment for rock climbing, to perfect rock faces for beginner instruction, to professional and highly competent instruction. Our students called this one of the best Outdoor Ed trips ever.

The climbing is really nice and the area very well managed and has a great vibe. The camping is easy and clean and the whole experience was great. We can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic experience: My daughter Denali, 11 years old, returned thrilled from her stay at camp. She made friends, shared good times, and practiced activities that she loves more than anything! Her counselor Camille was very caring, and even though she didn't know anyone upon arrival, she integrated easily thanks to her and the entire organization. Outside of the outdoors, among her highlights: The meals, ah ha!

Fantastic experience: Camille was an absolutely incredible guide who's passion for climbing shone throughout the day. She helped my dad, who is a beginner climber feel safe and supported. At the same time, she also respected that I came with a lot of pre-existing climbing knowledge and experience. I particularly appreciated her encouragement to explore and discover the rock rather than beta spray. I was grateful to have her as a guide and would recommend her to anyone beginner and experienced alike!!

Fantastic experience: Our instructor Camille, was very knowledgeable and passionate about rock climbing. This was my first time outdoor climbing, having just joined indoor gym the week before. At age 63, I felt very safe with her guidance. We hope to do it again!

Fantastic experience: I think I can speak for the whole group when I say we all had a great weekend learning about multi pitch techniques, safety and rescue maneuvers, anchors and knots. Despite the bad weather on the second day, Dayna managed to keep it interesting, useful and fun for all of us. He was incredibly patient with us and addressed all of our questions and worries in a very comprehensive way. It was my second outing with LNS and had a great time again. Would recommend rolling with them!

Fantastic experience: Eric was my guide for Ice Climbing last week. He is hands down the best guide I've worked with and I've had some good ones. It's not easy to coach someone to significant improvement in a half day, but Eric has a knack for teaching in a way that quickly analyzes your skill set and then setting up the perfect challenges that will push your abilities while also not feeding you more than you need in the moment. My current skillset was feeling like I could complete a WI-3 traverse, but that it was challenging. By the end of the day, I was doing it multiple times, learning alternate techniques and feeling like if I was fresh I could challenge myself even more and I was far more comfortable than when I walked in. I also expanded on my technical skills. I would love to go back and would highly recommend him to someone looking to expand their skillset.

Fantastic experience: We had a great time climbing with Antoine and Justine, one day at Montagne d’argent and one day at Weir. Really nice routes and coaching! We covered a lot of climbing styles, slabs, cracks and a cool off-width (trad and sport). Weir had a real mountain crag feeling, with steep pitches and some hard routes to aim for in the future. Thanks a lot for the great time!

Fantastic experience: I took a Trad Level 1 course with Marie on the weekend of May 13 and 14. It far exceeded my expectations. We had a good overview of the material and its usefulness, so we had a good foundation. The exercise of placing gear on the ground was really nice for getting feedback. The top-roped climbs were great for placing gear. I really appreciated Marie's patience, empathy, and humanity. She is very dedicated to our learning, supports us well, and doesn't hesitate to remind us of the basics when we ask. There was no pressure during the course to do something if we weren't comfortable, and I appreciated her understanding on that level. I really liked that she agreed to check my gear on a route. She is a real fountain of information and an inspiring and impressive woman; she adapts to everyone. I can't wait to see her again or climb with her! I feel that I have all the information to be 'autonomous,' of course, practicing on easier stuff to start and gain confidence. In short, I am very happy to have come across Marie for my course!!!!!

La Liberté Nord-Sud allows us to develop safe autonomy in an environment where dangers are present and often well-hidden. I recommend the rock climbing, ice climbing, traditional climbing, rescue, and high mountain training with their qualified instructor well beyond industry standards.

Leo not only gave great technical instruction, but encouraged us to be resourceful, responsible, and safety oriented. While we were climbing, someone took a bad fall on another route and Leo responded with all the seriousness and professionalism that the situation required. Thanks again! The course struck a nice balance between hands-on instruction while not being too hand-hold-y. The site was a beautiful winter wonderland. Very satisfied!

Fantastic experience: This introductory course on understanding maps and the compass was excellent and well-structured. The instructor, Olivier, knew his subject well and explained the content thoroughly. However, I would have spent less time in the morning on the basic principles of trail hiking and would have appreciated more practical exercises with maps and the compass to better grasp the material.
