Negative experience: During the pandemic I brought a fish I caught to be mounted. While at the location the guy was nice and helpful and I paid a deposit fee. I reached out a year after that since I was told it would take 4 month and had heard nothing from them. Sure enough they never started and then were asking for 1200 more dollars. I’ve never received any follow ups and would not trust them to do your catch.

Most animals were presented in their natural habitat, which really helped to bring them back to life. CJ was very personable and took time to educate us about how he manages to create such fantastic works of art. Incredible!!

Fantastic experience: I had them working on a heritage piece (spirit grizzly bear) that had seen better years. The rework was fantastic, and the piece came back fully meeting my expectations. I have them working on a pronghorn mount for me now, and I'm looking forward to seeing it soon. Word of advice... creative process involved (something I automatically integrated into timing for delivery), so I took the expected date and pushed it out in my head to avoid frustration and disappointment. It took several additional weeks.

Fantastic experience: Artistry in Motion is a large facility in Uxbridge Ontario. A showroom and workshop make up the building which is approximately the footprint of 2 barns. The workshop is complete and all encompassing for designing all sizes and types of molds, to final finishing of steel and wood bases for stands. Having everything in house allows for a smooth and quick turnaround. CJ and his team are artists with an eye on designing the most effective mounts. I dropped off a white tailed deer with a large cape at the start of the hunting season. We reviewed the options and elected to do a pedestal mount. CJ turned this around in 7 weeks. Comments from friends have been high on the “wow” scale. “It looks so real…expect him to walk around”. I would highly recommend Artistry in Motion for any taxidermy work. Positive experience: The mount I received looks fantastic and is exactly what we had discussed during the initial consultation. Cj provided a lot of guidance on what was possible and what would look best - he is absolutely an expert. As other reviews have mentioned the showroom is quite impressive. While the end product is 5 stars, the process took a very long time and I wish there was more transparency and communication on the expected time frame beyond "call back in a couple weeks" for several months - this uncertainty drops my review by a star.

I am editing this review, asCJ asked me if I new how to do an online review at the same time he took my phone out of my hand and proceeded to type his own review as u see above . Here is my version : Which one of the weeks were amazing?.he told me in early July he would need 6 weeks to complete the work as follows:remove and glue the teeth ,he didn't. replace a piece of the jaw with a piece of bone he did. I advised him upon putting a 300.00 deposit that I would be providing my own peice of wood so he could mount my deer skull on.no problem he said. 12 weeks later he said it was ready.i showed up only to be asked where was the bracket on the back of my piece of wood. I replied, your the taxidermist I would'nt know what a bracket looks like .! I was asked to hold the wood I had made, vertical while he held the piece and he pilot drills two holes into the scull and secured it with two deck screws. Worst display of craftsmanship I've seen in a while. The horns were painted nicely except where it was in the vise which he applied stain as I was on my way out the door .his showroom is spectaculer, he however is no one ( for 675.00) I would recommend to work on anything.

Fantastic experience: CJ and team are exquisite artists with a reverence for animals I have yet to encounter in other people. I have travelled the world and met many generous people, CJ and his family are top of the list. His generosity extended to my education as a woman who never met a taxidermist nor had been inclined to stuff an animal previously. He suggested, upon finding the Barred Owl, that I come see what he does to decide “how best to honour the owl.” On our first phone call, CJ explained how to keep the owl safely on ice with towels to protect it both from freeze burn or rot. Upon meeting him at the MASSIVE, CARED FOR and BRILLIANT art studio and museum, I was floored by the magnitude of detail in each animal’s presentation that was on display, and on which he was working. He walked me through the entire process, offered a reasonable time frame, creative ideas, and very reasonable price for the effort which I could only imagine would take hours to place all the feathers where they would eventually end up. I read a review of someone complaining about things not done correctly, and I can’t imagine that based on my interactions with CJ and team, that any potential for a “defect” would have been explained prior to working on the animal. As he explained before we agreed to a contract of work, CJ mentioned, “here, the foot is broken, and we will try to put it in the correct angle... here, there are some feathers and part of the breast that may not attach without seeing some bone...” and so, if anyone brings an animal to Artistry in Motion, I would suspect that the same degree of inspection of the arrival and delivery of the animal to CJ, would be noted and the effects of the death of the animal explained in relationship to the work he must do to preserve it and present it artistically such that there would be no surprises, only sheer awe. My son is 6, and he was absolutely enthralled by the meeting of this now wonderful protector in our home. We feel truly blessed to have a beloved creature in our home, a masterpiece of CJs and Artistry in Motion, while having our relationship with the living world deepened because of our interactions with CJ, his family and team. After all it’s your trophy fish, buck, bear, etc... and you want it to be perfect. First and most importantly the white tail mount they did for me looks incredible! Furthermore the people there are super easy to talk to and true professionals. If you don’t believe me call them up and go for a tour! Highly recommend you go with these guys, I will be back!

Fantastic experience: I harvested my deer in Thunder bay Ontario, I live in Southern Ontario, from the time i called Artistry in Motion they where nothing but helpful and accommodating for the drop off driving all the way from northern Ontario. The turn around time on the mount and the price where way better then any other shop i had contacted. I came to pick up my mount and the job they did left me speechless it was so beautifully done. Fantastic experience: My Grandfather was an avid hunter throughout his lifetime. When he wasn't hunting, he was preparing to go hunting. It was his passion which everyone knew him for. The last time he hunted was late 2013 to early 2014 before he suddenly passed. He had left a bear in one of the freezers. In August of 2020, we took the bear to CJ hoping we hadn't waited too long. He assured us it was in fine condition and he could work on it. We picked up the bear last week. What can I say? It's categorically stunning. The attention to detail is superb. CJ was super friendly too. He answered all of our questions and showed us how to maintain it. I'm so pleased with the end result. We now proudly display it around our front door. Thank you CJ for helping us keep our Grandfather's memory!

Negative experience: The 30 inch walleye i took there came back the wrong color, looked like a bass at first glance before seeing the actual fish. My fish also came back 4 inches shorter as well. I am definitely not impressed with the final product of a once in a life time fish. I would not recommend using artistry in motion for any sort of taxidermy.

Fantastic experience: Artistry In Motion mounted the last three of my trophy animals-a Beceite Ibex and two water buffalo. They handled all the shipping from start to finish and the finished product was very proff. done. Junior kept in contact with me through the whole process (covid times) and the mounts were deliverd to my door step! Hunting Internationally and getting animals sent overseas can be a hassle but this experience was very positive.

Negative experience: I'm really suspicious of these reviews after the work we received. My husband picked up his bear rug today, and it is disappointing. It just looks like rushed work without any attention to details. Missing Hanging hooks which were requested, paint already coming off hours after pick up, glue everywhere and a very patchy work on the fabric itself. I hate to give bad reviews to any business, especially during these tough times. But customers have the right to know the reality of the work, especially when paying thousands of dollars and handing in their hunting trophies. Also I had to spend all evening sewing on hooks on the hide to be finally hanged!

Negative experience: CJ is an interesting character, one I would be wary of. My bear rug was covered in debris and was missing hanging hooks which I requested. The paint on the stomach is already flaking off hours after pickup and also found spots of glue on the hair and rug. My buddy’s soft tan black bear had more then 10 holes in it, which two or three were our own doing. The paws also had holes in them. The leather was ok, it was not properly fleshed out. Also after paying we were asked to give him a 5 star review. He told me to come with him to show me how to write a google review.
