Fantastic experience: We loved the trip to Whitehorse with an overnight in Vancouver. All the staff at Fresh Tracks Canada were very friendly, helpful and informative. I had many questions and they were answered promptly and thoroughly. I found the best way to communicate after the initial was with email. There is not one thing I feel needs improvement with them. We viewed lights 2 nights. The first night we got to see quite a show! We took a lot of pictures and while the pictures were certainly more bright than the live lights, the lights were amazing! The guide was very helpful with setting up my camera and they have several tripods for you to use (although I brought my own and left my camera up all evening). They also took pictures throughout the night and gave us an email address so we could get an email from them and access to the flicker account which had their pics on it. We could download what pictures we wanted without cost. That was nice! We also liked the dog sledding, snowmobiling, and the Hot Springs/spa. We would do those tours again. All the tour guides, drivers, staff we interacted with in Whitehorse were great. Very friendly and informative. We stayed at Best Western Gold Rush Inn. It is and older hotel and it's elevator is small and slow. But it's there! And we were on vacation! There are stairs also. The room was large and the shower was the best ever! Their restaurant had good food and many tv's with a lot of hockey on. But what do you expect, it's Canada! Nice place. The hotel is centrally located and it was easy to walk around the main downtown area for shopping, go see the river, 10 minute walk to the grocery store and lots of restaurants around. We were happy with all the places we ate. This was a fun trip and the folks at Fresh Tracks Canada made the whole thing much easier. PS, rent the winter clothing package, it really helped keep us comfortable up there.

Fantastic experience: Fresh Tracks Canada planned the most amazing trip for our family and they tirelessly and patiently answered hundreds of questions and emails from me. Thank you for being so accommodating and on top of it!!! We truly had the most special and most memorable trip. I have been considering this trip for 3 years now and I had been struggling on which location to pick for this trip - Whitehorse, Yellowknife or Churchill. Fresh Tracks could provide so much detailed information about each of the locations and had personally visited all 3 multiple times. That kind of detailed insight really helped me! Hands down Whitehorse offers both a great Main Street with great restaurants and shopping and a cute city feel with incredibly gracious people AND a luscious outdoors just barely on the edge of the city to enjoy so many outdoor activities including the necessary dark spots for viewing the NLs. Whitehorse was easy to get to from Vancouver compared to the other destinations and by far - Northern Tales (the preferred partner for Fresh Tracks Canada) is the most organized and well thought out and attention to every detail and every person company to use for a trip of this caliber with the most passionate and knowledgeable guides!!!!! Everything was perfect from start to finish and Fresh Tracks Canada was the one orchestrating all of that for us. So thank you!!! Thank you so much!!!! Truly a trip of a lifetime !!!

Fantastic experience: Elodie and Greg went out of their way to coordinate our train/land trip across Canada. Lake Louise and the magnificent Rockies had been on my bucket list since I missed a family trip in the 60's. Every time we asked to change/upgrade something, Elodie responded within a day or two. WE worried about Jasper and Lake Louise with the horrific fires, but she took care of every detail. The train w/2 sleeper cars--1 for each of us and adjoining worked perfectly. Lovely country and thankful we toured via train!

All accommodation, activities and transfers were fantastic. Every transfer and pick up for activities were on time. We received a very detailed itinerary, I loved that we had input into how long we wanted to stay at each place and not having to conform to a set itinerary. I've never had such a trip that went so well. From the time we got off the plane in Vancouver, we started the 2nd half of our tour with Fresh Tracks to Whitehorse @ Yukon. Fresh Tracks made our trip special. A special mention to the Sky-High Wilderness Ranch, Northern Lights Tour & our VIP transport staff. All of our needs were met.

Fantastic experience: A train ride across the entire country of Canada had been on my bucket list for a long time. Fresh Tracks helped make that dream come true. I began in Halifax, Nova Scotia and traveled to Vancouver. It was a 20 day trip with 4 overnights on the train and 15 nights in absolutely beautiful hotels. In each city a tour was arranged. The tours varied from a private walking tour on trails in Jasper (where I came very close to a grizzly bear), to a private walking tour in Old Quebec City, to a food tour in Toronto, to a van ride to the outside areas of Jasper where we saw so many big horn sheep and elk, etc. The trains, that I took, were exceptional with fabulous food great service and informational talks. The Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Vancouver was another spectacular part of this trip. I don’t think there was anything I would have changed. All the people who were supposed to pick me up for a ride to the train station or a tour were always on time.

Fantastic experience: Just arrived from our trip with Canadian Railways program Fresh tracks. It was everything we hope it would be and much, much more. Transportation, accommodations, food, tours and particularly the people we met were amazing. I would do it again in a heart beat.

Fantastic experience: Fresh Tracks organizer was excellent through the entire process of our researching, planning and the rollout of our Rocky Mountaineer loop 11 day adventure. All the transfers, hotels, tours, restaurants, and tour guides were excellent. The Rocky Mountaineer was also wonderful and we went from Vancouver to Quesnel by train and from Banff to Vancouver by train. It was a super way to see beautiful landscapes and experience the Rocky Mountains. The staff on the trains were positive and informative and breakfasts and lunches, snack and beverages were delicious.

Fantastic experience: Fresh Tracks Canada vacation was spectacular. The staff and advisors (Norah and Kyana) could not have been easier to work with and created a detailed itinerary which accommodated our schedule. Rocky Mountaineer train ride was a treat and Banff/Lake Louise excursions were fun filled and jam backed with beautiful views of numerous locations in Yoho and Banff National Parks.

Fantastic experience: From the start of my Enquiry until the end of our trip the Fresh Tracks Support was great. We had an amazing itinerary which fulfilled all we wanted to see. Our drivers were always waiting and all the hotel accommodation was first class. Great Bear Lodge is amazing in a beautiful location. We went to see bears and we saw bears. Not as many as we had hoped but still very close.

Fantastic experience: One of the items on my bucket list was to take a train trip across the Canadian Rockies. For my 75th birthday, my wife gave me that trip. The people who took care of us on the train and in the hotels were outstanding. The conversations we had with our fellow travelers were warm and interesting. The mountains were awe inspiring. And we saw the Northern Lights, one of the other items on my bucket list. It truly was the trip of a lifetime.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to come back and add to my 5-Star rating of Fresh Tracks Canada. We had a great time, and everything was planned and executed without any issues. Our Canadian vacation began in Montreal, where we spent three nights. We then traveled Business Class by train to Quebec. After spending three nights in Quebec, we continued our train travel by Business Class in a sleeper compartment to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for three nights. At each city location, our transfers by private car were already organized by Fresh Tracks, and in each city, one night's dinner location and one whole day tour were also prearranged by Fresh Tracks. We totally appreciated the pre-planning by our Lori, our Fresh Tracks travel coordinator. Our itinerary was designed by Lori after we provided Lori with our trip ideas. During our entire trip, we never had anything go wrong with our itinerary expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in eastern Canada and would definitely use Fresh Tracks for our next Canadian rail vacation. Maybe the Canadian Rocky Mountains!

Fantastic experience: Fresh Tracks Canada and Lori Foster organised 5 days in Yellowknife for me and I can’t speak highly enough of her service and support. The trip was so well priced and organised. I wouldn’t have known what activities to do, but it was all organised for me. Communication was great and I felt supported through the whole booking and experiencing of the trip. Fantastic experience: Our son booked a 10 day tour of Canada with Fresh Tracks to celebrate our 35th Wedding anniversary. This included a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer train and various hotels and excursions. Jessica was fabulous, even though we are in Europe she telephoned us several times and kept in touch via email, giving us advice and recommendations. We were meant to originally visit Jasper but due to the wildfires this had to be rearranged and Jessica and Duncan kept us well informed of the changes and did an amazing job. The whole trip was unbelievable and even when we were in Canada and ask to cancel one excursion, we got a response within 30 minutes and even a refund - which was unexpected but very appreciated. The hotels were top notch and we were treated like Royalty! I cannot fault them and would certainly recommend Fresh Tracks to anyone thinking of visiting Canada. Thank you for a truly memorable trip of a lifetime. You took all the stress out of a busy trip.

Negative experience: I would not recommend Fresh Tracks as you tour company if you plan to take the train across the Canadian Rockies. They did a poor job with our group of six and they were overpriced. Our itinerary was very late in getting to us and we missed out on the start of the tour. On trying to check in to one of our paid for hotels, they didn’t have my name for my reservation. I would recommend booking direct with tre train company, Rocky Mountaineer.

Fantastic experience: I took the Fall Colours and Northern Lights tour and couldn’t have been more thrilled! All arrangements and tours were ABOVE and beyond what I could hope for! PLEASE continue to work with Joe at North Star Adventures - of the 3 separate companies who were leading the northern lights hunts, Joe was by far the friendliest and most accommodating! And our group had the pleasure of him leading our day time tours as well and his unique ability to be a local indigenous guide added so much context and background! I also appreciated the small group size - it made getting to know our fellow travelers very easy! There were a number of big coach bus tours supporting similar activities but our small size and nimble ability with the smaller van was ideal for navigating the back roads and getting to out of the way places that Joe knew to go as well as made it a much more personal experience and not just a herd of people all doing the same thing. All-in-all, I’d highly recommend Fresh Tracks for their personal attention, competitive prices, and exceptional local arrangements!

Fantastic experience: We highly recommend Fresh tracks Canada for booking your trip. We did the Mountaineer from Vancouver to Banff, the private chauffeur from Banff to Jasper(with many stops for sightseeing and helicopter tour) and then from Jasper to Toronto on Via train with Tour itinerary in Toronto. This was my husband’s lifelong dream, and last year he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gerighs disease), I wanted to make his dream come true, so I booked the vacation in April, but his disease progressed and I was a little concern about doing it, but after talking with Andie Gulp our consultant with Fresh Tracks, she went over our expectations and made it happen, we had our dream vacation, so grateful for the service and friendship we made along this trip.

Positive experience: Rocky Mountaineer (gold leave) The views and food good were very good. Snacks (inbetween meals were ok). Trains got in very late .. no time for dinner ... just went to sleep. Bus was had a problem and we had to wait to be taken to the hotel (another late night). Another time bus driver took us to the wrong hotel. Another time the person checking us onto the bus (in the morning) couldn't find our name. He didn't turn over the page. Our name was on the back. We were at the hotels probably less than 12 hours .... not enough time to enjoy them. They were just a sleeping places. It was wonderful that they gave you your room keys so you didn't have to check it and they put your luggage in ur room and took it the next day. Dinner at the Cactus Club was very good. Thought we were having dinner with the group. Dinner at the CN Tower was ok. View was great. VIA Rail (prestige) Very enjoyable... great views. Food was fair ... not as good the Rock Mountaineer. Beds are very stiff... about 4 inches of foam. Nice pillows and comforter. Staff ignored the sign that we did not want our room cleaned which was unsetting. Checking into the via rail is a small area and was very dis organized. Our small luggage was tagged and brought to our rooms and our stored luggage was tagged as prestige. Our friends was not. They carried their luggage and their stored luggage was not tagged prestige. Fresh Tracks - Communication on the dinners could have be better as it was thought it was with the group. Directions from the Toronto train to the Fairmount ... walk out the ramp and the hotel is right across the street. Much easier than what was given to us. While the sun rise tour in Jasper was added (and it was a nice gesture) it was a waste of time. It was dark in the morning and none of us got out ... maybe 1 person.

Fantastic experience: Loved the door to door bus and luggage transport service. Comfortable lodging, accessible, quality restaurants, especially given Jasper’s gradual reopening after wildfires. Special thanks to David with Sundog and Daniel with Tripsheperd, both were entertaining and knowledgeable. Loved the short walk from the Toronto train to the luxurious Fairmont Royal York, although the hotel’s echoing lobby music was always too loud for my comfort level. FTC did an amazing job of putting together all of the large and small detailed pieces to make this a delightfully memorable trip of a lifetime. This company can talk you through adding your own itinerary to the planned ones or adjustments to their listed routes, transportation to and from different areas, guided tours, hotels specific to your preference of room type, location, pre and post cruise rooms or tours, train reservations on VIA or Rocky Mountaineer, and so much more. There are dedicated people to talk with every step of the process. I had Greg at first and Jessica Dinitz later . Both are so helpful and knowledgeable. They or colleagues are there for you before, and even during the trip. We had changes because of the fire in Jasper, and they followed daily until it was all resolved. I will use them again.

Fantastic experience: Vancouver to Edmonton to Banff to Calgary (no Jasper due to fires) Fresh Tracks Canada designed an amazing trip with a wide variety of experiences with unique overnight train ride in private sleeping berth, hiking, biking, helicopter ride, and much much more. The vacation was a wonderful mix of group tours with plenty of time for our own adventure. Excellent communication throughout planning and even during trip. When last minute changes were necessary due to fires in Jasper, FTC advisors emailed and called and clearly explained alternative options. Extra care was given to compensate for the change. The detail in the final itinerary was extraordinary, with local phone numbers and meeting times and places. It served as an excellent reference throughout the trip. Highly Fresh Tracks Canada.

Fantastic experience: We organised a trip through Freshtracks. They were fantastic from start to finish. From the initial.consultation, I was listened to, and my first quote touched on everything in my Canada wishlist. I was able to extend stays in certain cities and really make my trip my own, with tips and suggestions from Freshtracks. In the lead up to the trip, we had regular communication. Only days before we were set to depart, the tragic fires hit Jasper. As this formed part of our trip, they communicated with us immediately, and gave us options for alternate travel plans. They handled this awful situation so professionally and quickly, it was a real credit to them. We had an itinerary we could print, but also access electronically that automatically set the day to match the current date, so I could see everything we had on and where we needed to be. I could also send it to family so they could follow along and also know where we were in the event of an emergency. The companies they use for tours are fantastic. Good local people who took us to the standard tourist spots, but also showed us those other gems you may not ordinarily see. They had stories of the local areas, and good recommendations for other things to check out and places to eat. The tours were mix of small group and private car. We travelled Toronto>Montreal>Quebec City>Halifax>Calgary>Banff>Edmonton>Vancouver>Victoria>Whistler. Trip was a mix of air, rail and coach. Everything was comfortable and we were well taken care of every step of the way, and made connections and friendships we wouldn't have had we planned it alone. I will absolutely book with them again, they really made travelling a breeze.

Lest this sounds over the rainbow, I will note a flaw in this trip, the rain on the last day approaching Vancouver! But I did not find a weather guarantee in the literature... Well done!!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful trip to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, all planned and arranged by Fresh Tracks. They made it incredibly easy from our arrival at the airport to our dropping off the rental car back at the airport 9 days later. The suggestions on routes to travel and places to stop added significantly to our enjoyment of the provinces.

Fantastic experience: We just returned from a western Canadian trip organized by FreshTracks. They did a wonderful job or coordinating a train and all our hotels and transfers. i highly recommend them and will use them, again for any travel in Canada.

Fantastic experience: This was our first time traveling with Fresh Tracks Canada - who I found just by chance on an internet search. From our first interaction with Nick, Fresh Tracks went above and beyond what is typically expected. Nick even called us from home to give us a quote after office hours to ensure that we were able to get our preference in seating on both the Rocky Mountaineer and Canadian Via trains. Justine, you provided us with a flawless itinerary and updates as needed - and the dinners at the restaurants were delightful. Just as we left our home for Vancouver, the Jasper fires really took hold. Within hours of our arrival in Vancouver, we received a phone call from Jessica in Customer Service with alternate plans to ensure that our trip was minimally affected - and the alteration even included an unexpected helicopter flight on our way to Edmonton. Our deepest appreciation to Fresh Tracks - with a reminder that you are only as good as your individual employees - and you really have a first-rate team. Our thanks to each of you for a memorable experience!

Positive experience: My wife Karen and I recently undertook the Fresh Tracks Canada "Canada Coast to Coast by Train" trip from Vancouver to Halifax. Many thanks to Kylee Dubois our Senior Customer Experience Specialist for organising and coordinating our awesome trip!!!! We made some fantastic memories of this awesome country and its friendly and welcoming people. The highlights:- 1. Kylee Dubois for her friendly, professional, prompt and expert assistance. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for Kylee; 2. Onboard The Canadian Train from Jasper to Toronto. A fantastic experience thanks especially to the wonderful concierges being Martin, Merrillyn and and then Kevin (Kev), Marty and Dori. The chefs and servers were also terrific. Even though the train was about 8 hours late arriving in Toronto, it didn't matter at all, especially since Kylee Dubois re-arranged our dinner reservation at CN Tower without us even needing to ask her! 3. The Niagara Falls Day Tour from Toronto. The Falls were spectacular and breathtaking and the boat ride was thrilling. Also, our tour guide Sasha was wonderful; 4. Everything else apart from the couple of lowlights mentioned below. The lowlights (usually we don't complain about anything when we travel but...):- a) The Rocky Mountaineer train trip. Very disappointing and certainly didn't live up to its reputation. Unfortunately the scenery viewed from the train wasn't as spectacular as we had anticipated (perhaps our expectations were too high?). However, the main issue was the complete breakdown of the airconditioning in our rail car on our first day. It was so hot and unbearable for most of the guests that the Rocky Mountaineer staff ended up stopping the train and sending buses to collect all of the guests on our rail car and then drive us to Kamloops. This totally ruined one whole day of the two day Rocky Mountaineer train trip i.e. 50% of this experience. However, we understand that the Rocky Mountaineer experience is not under the control of Fresh Tracks Canada. Unfortunately The Rocky Mountaineer company has not even bothered to respond to our concerns submitted directly via their feedback survey!!!! b) Our D2S Limousine driver who picked us up when we arrived at Quebec City. He was rude and impatient and "barked" at us because the train was a bit late!!! He obviously didn't comprehend that "we weren't driving the train"!; c) Our terrible experience with The Ocean Train including the Sainte-Foy train station in Quebec City. The facilities at the train station and onboard this train were old, dirty, cramped, really cold and, all in all, quite abysmal. Unfortunately the station staff and the onboard train staff were unhelpful, unfriendly and totally uncaring. Our supposed "concierge" named Sam summed up our trip on this train when he told us as soon as we boarded "don't bother trying to adjust the air conditioning in your cabin- it's not working"! Our train trip from Quebec City to Halifax was so horrendous, we cancelled our Private Peggy's Cove and Halifax Sightseeing tour scheduled for the morning after we finally arrived in Halifax. Fantastic experience: Wow! We just returned from our Fresh Tracks vacation and it was amazing! Twelve days of carefree ease, great excursions with knowledgeable guides, numerous transfers with friendly drivers, fantastic food and not one snafu! Everything was precision planned with care for the traveler. This was the vacation of a lifetime and we will definitely recommend Fresh Tracks to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Kylee Dubois was a lifesaver for this trip. I had it all booked and then things started changing on my end because my friend wanted to fly and meet me in Canada. Tylee worked her butt off to help me pull off the changes. The train ride and the accommodations were incredible. I will do it again.

Fantastic experience: Everything was first-class. We did, however, prefer the hotel experience at the Rim Rock in Banff over the Fairmount Chateau Lake Louise. Glad we had two nights there instead of the Fairmount which seemed impersonal with no lobby to speak of, no place to sit and enjoy a drink, people-watch. The Rim Rock was just the opposite. Otherwise, all good.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed our time traveling across Canada via train. Saw some beautiful country, toured some wonderful sites, enjoyed some delicious food, and the accommodations were great. The Canadian Rockies are amazing and a beautiful site to see.

Fantastic experience: Every one was very professional, and very prompt in their responses. The fires affected our tours, but company did its best to provide us with excellent driver and alternate tours.

When our train ride from Toronto to Vancouver was interrupted in Edmonton due to the wildfires in Jasper, they booked hotels, arranged for transportation accordingly. They were in continuous contact with us until we reached Vancouver. We’ll definitely use this company in the future!!

Fantastic experience: We are very satisfied with the arrangements made by Fresh Tracks and have no complaints whatsoever. We had to reschedule our trip four times, the first couple of times due to Covid and the last two times due to personal circumstances. Fresh Tracks gracefully made the many changes that we had with the trip through these different iterations. All of the Fresh Track's staff -- Kylee, Alekh, Megan, Amy and others -- were great. And Fresh Tracks was able to preserve most of the money we had paid when we needed to cancel the trip last year at the last minute, for which we were very grateful.

Negative experience: Good experience on Rocky Mountaineer, but then, that had nothing to do with Fresh Tracks. First Fresh Tracks shuttle tour in Banff, showed up over an hour late. Shuttle from Banff to Lake Louise was a high-speed trip with a few short stops, and arrived early, so some guests had to wait over an hour for their room to be ready. View of Lake Louise, and new construction site from our tiny room at Chateau Lake Louise. Very good shuttle trip from Lake Louise to Jasper. Driver was knowledgeable, informative, and considerate of passengers. This was one of only three real high points on trip. Left on time, arrived on time. Eight hour delay leaving Jasper on VIA train. Train to Toronto was OK, except for delays. Arrived in Toronto over two hours late, and had to have dinner reservation changed to 9 PM. Hotel room overlooked the empty Blue Jays stadium. Interesting for about 30 seconds, then focus on small room. Would have been nice to have view of city, or even a back alley. Room in Montreal was small, dated, and appeared to have some construction dust on baseboards, although rest of room was clean. The location was OK but not practical for us, park across the street, and metro stop nearby, but view from room was the wall of the building across the alley. Up, down, side to side, nothing but building. Hotel in Quebec City was better, but not great, looked out on rooftop of a building, with view of the very top of the Chateau Frontenac off to the left over some trees. I didn't feel that the location of any of these three hotels was up to the overall fees charged for this trip. Talking to other travelers on the tour, we were certainly not staying in the standard, or location of others. It was also told to us that these were not hotels that Fresh Tracks usually uses, and the person was unaware of why these were chosen for us. The train to Halifax, was an overnighter, and the cabins in the "newer" VIA train were not as comfortable as the very old cars used on the Vancouver to Toronto run. If you want to take this train, to say that you did, you should, but the comfort level is rather lacking. And food service and quality is poor. We enjoyed Halifax. New hotel, decent sized room, and comfortable. Private tour was enjoyable, and driver ( Raj ) was happy to take into account our time and comfort level. So, there is the explanation of out trip. Now, I must say that this trip was not worth the money paid. It seems that once we received our final itinerary, we should have spent a lot of time researching, verifying, and questioning the Fresh Tracks decisions. And as far as I am concerned, that is not what we should have to do for a trip of this kind. If you are considering a trip with Fresh Tracks, I would suggest you continue looking. If you have a trusted travel agent or traveler friend, be willing to look to them for advice. All of the others on our tour, were from outside Canada. I don't know if the Fresh Tracks agents for other countries, would be more influential in their bookings, but I am afraid that regularly hearing "Sorry", and "My apologies" so often doesn't hold much water with me for this sort of tour, at this sort of cost. Fresh Tracks should be ensuring the comfort and convenience of their customers up front, rather than offering apologies after the failure of their efforts. I would not recommend Fresh Tracks. Please consider looking. elsewhere

Fantastic experience: If you are thinking of traveling by train coast to coast in Canada, Fresh Tracks Canada is where you should book your trip. They did a great job planning our itinerary which included hotels, trains and tours.

Fantastic experience: Laura Anne and I had a wonderful trip to Western Canada recently. We traveled from Vancouver to Calgary. We spent time on the Rocky Mountaineer train and at the Calgary Stampede. We saw beautiful scenery and wildlife in the Jasper National Park and Banff National Park. We are grateful to Jessica and her team at Fresh Tracks Canada for helping us to plan the "trip of a lifetime."

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from a 4 week trip to Vancouver, the Rockies including the Rocky Mountaineer, and a week's Uncruise from Juneau to Sitka. Prior to the trip we requested some changes which were put in place without any trouble. Everything just worked - accommodation, tours, pickups, etc. Many thanks to Rob and Heather for the advice, planning and regular prompt follow ups to any queries. No hesitation in recommending Fresh Tracks to anyone.
