Fantastic experience: This past July, 2025, my husband and I went on a 16 day adventure to Italy. My dream trip I have been waiting to take for a long time. We went to the Amalfi Coast, Montepulciano Tuscany, Siena, and Cinque Terre. Jeff at Murdoch Travel made my dream trip possible. Thanks to his knowledge, advise, help with planning, communication with his suppliers and with me on a regular basis, we were able to achieve an amazing trip. Something I will never forget! In fact we have been with Jeff since he started his career in the travel industry some 23 years ago booking many vacations for us. If any issues arose with any of our bookings Jeff was always on top of things and sorted them out promptly. Thankfully, we really never had many issues over all these years but rest assured if there was an issue Jeff dealt with it advocating on our behalf. Fantastic experience: Just wanted to share the positive experience I had with 2 of your employees from your Waterloo office ~ Laurna and especially Angela. While in Italy last month boarding a train for our Mediterranean cruise, I had my wallet & passport stolen. While there wasn’t much cash in the wallet, I needed to get my passport replaced. Angela was able to put me in contact with the Canadian Embassy to make arrangements to get a temporary passport and apply to renew my passport so that I can meet up with the cruise. Angela also arranged for my flight from Rome to Palma de Mallorca once I obtained my temporary passport. She definitely went above and beyond!!

We used Alex’s expertise and planning for our destination wedding in Jamaica with roughly 70 people at the Grand Palladium Resort. Alex was great and always able to answer my questions. Fantastic experience: Alex at Murdoch is amazing. I've just finished my 2nd vacation that she handled the booking for. First trip was to Rivera Maya Mexico, this one Playa Pesquero, Holguin, Cuba! Fantastic experience: This is a bit late but I'm finally getting around to writing reviews for our destination wedding we had last April (April 2024). Could not say enough good things about our experience with Jeff. He was patient and very knowledgeable when it came to choosing the resort we wanted, gave us multiple options all with detailed reasons why it would be a great resort & different prices ranges and ultimately helped us in choosing Breathless in Cancun. Jeff & his team were excellent in organizing all our guests and provided me with someone I could confidently direct my guests to so the burden was off me for planning/booking and organizing 30+ people. We had smooth sailing the entire trip, absolutely no problems and I couldn't recommend Murdoch travel enough. The resort was amazing, the wedding was perfect and we really did just have the best & relaxing time with all of our guests. Highly recommend when planning a destination wedding for sure!

Negative experience: Traveled as a large group to Europe. We're told we were unable to book seats so this left multiple minors sitting on their own for a trans Atlantic flight which is a major safety concern. And the rest of the group sitting in middle seats that no one else had booked. The costs the group paid to ride middle seat with their kids sitting alone is unacceptable. Murdoch was emailed by many families with their concerns and they were basically ignored. We're told our sporting equipment would be included in our costs and had to pay additional baggage fees at the airport. Some families x2.

Fantastic experience: My fiance and I were looking at a destination wedding and through our research discovered Murdoch Travel in Barrie, ON. Jeff and his team focus on destination weddings and do they ever know what they are doing. We took a party of 30 to RIU Palace in Costa Rica, and you would think with over 30 people it would be a nightmare to get everyone booked. But not with Jeff. The entire process was seamless and extremely easy for not only my fiance and I, but everyone who booked with him. Any questions or requests anyone had he handled immediately. He even got my brother booked with only weeks left prior to departure and way passed the cut off deadline. Fantastic experience: We would like to thank Murdock Travel and all they did to help make out trip to Cosa Rica a 5-star experience! We’ve travelled a few times before and did not receive the same level of service. The payment options, timely response to questions, and reminder emails that included the summary of important details like baggage allowances, check in times, important facts about passport expiries, travel insurance reminders, and Costa Rica departure tax amounts was such helpful information that made us feel more confident and the trip less stressful.

Negative experience: Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with the owner Jeff. We were part of a large group of 35+ people for a wedding anniversary and it was a nightmare experience. We thought that having the owner taking care of our group that we would've been provided with quick, knowledgeable service but it was the opposite. It was like pulling teeth to get an answer or information from Jeff and when he finally responded, it was usually incorrect information. We ended up doing all of the work ourselves and communicating with the other group members because we could no longer trust the information he was providing us. When we arrived at the resort there were multiple booking errors and there was no reservation for my son. We gave Jeff my sons passport and when we arrived at the resort there was no reservation booked for him. How is that even possible?? We got it sorted with the resort but after a long trip the last thing you need is to spend close to an hour trying to figure out where the booking agent made a mistake. If you're looking to pay someone to do nothing and do all the work for yourself then Jeff is your guy. We travel every year and unfortunately would never use Jeff ever again. Please reconsider using Murdoch travel for your vacation.

Fantastic experience: Jeff and team was fantastic every step of the way for our 3 week trip to Australia and cruise in New Zealand! First trip since Covid. We were given up to date information all the time and kept abreast as to what our tasks should/ would be. Very quick to answer our phone calls while planning . We had only one snag and that was we didn’t get an actual location for our cruise ships’ departure. I googled and found two ports. Once we were there ( great idea to be ahead a day!) we asked many locals and got mixed responses due to the size of the ship so once arriving we google searched ( thanks google!) and discovered very large ships like the “Ovation “could not fit under the Harbour Bridge so banked on Circular Quay but allowed ourself more time to commute to the other location just in case we were wrong. That part was stressful but we were glad we got to the right port… with more than enough time to kill waiting. I called the cruise line ahead but nobody I spoke to gave me a clear answer so I blame the cruise line. Now Murdoch Travel, in case anyone else goes on the Ovation of the Seas from Sydney Australia, the port is “Circular Quay “ !! Happy travels! We will definitely use Murdoch Travels and their team in the future!

Negative experience: Well let's start with response from Jeff Clarke. Doesn't respond unless he wants money I had to spend 12 hours on hold with transat to get option plus I actually wanted club class but like usual crickets just book yourself. Now the resort (loose term) dreams saffire I refer to this place as nightmares. The rooms are damp and smell of mould the food was at a level of a Cuban 3 star at best. I had tonmake friends with the chef so I could get special menu at lunch which I tipped well for and was absolutely deserved. Mardo and Eduardo were a blessing in disguise. I've been to Mexico at least 50 times I only use Karisma resorts and will never wavier from their properties again. The comparisons are not possible to describe other then this is not a 5 star even a 4 star maybe a 3 star at best. I'm always positive and went as my brother git married but we both agreed never will I do another destination wedding booked by this company all they care about is money. This was by far my worst Mexican experience I'm actually going back for 2 weeks in February and 10 days in March but fortunately it's at a karisma resort 5 star service not the trash we got at nightmares. Don't book that resort if you want to enjoy yourself.

Fantastic experience: I've know Jeff and Ron from a past life, so it was a little easier when choosing which travel agency to book with. Though, even if I didn't know them before they are absolutely FANTASTIC. We did a family vacation for the first time in yeeeeears and honestly I don't remember the process prior being as easy as the team at Murdoch Travel made it be. We had the pleasure of having Alex being our agent and she was nothing but a pleasure. We did have a small hiccup a few times were AirCanada wanted to make things difficult for us but having the team at Murdoch made our lives easier! They made sure we didn't have to worry about a darn thing and it was completely true. All I can say, is that all our vacations will be booked through the team at Murdoch Travel. We went to Jamaica and it was absolutely a dream. ♥️

Fantastic experience: We have used Murdoch travel before. Loved it. So four of us booked a 13 day bus tour of Scotland, England, Wales, south Ireland and north Ireland. We arrived a day early which was good! Great hotels. Nice that that the tour looked after many things. Murdoch travel handled all our questions easily and kept us up to date as necessary. Fantastic experience: I was very happy with the service. Ron helped us by selecting several possible options for our week getaway in the sun. He was honest and the resort that we ended up with was fantastic. We had a wonderful time and Ron checked in with us three times. Once to make sure that we had everything that we needed for travel, once at the beginning of our stay and then when we got home. I will definitely use them for future stays!!

We reached out to Jeff to help us book our honeymoon and he was able to help take all the anxiety of booking away ! With the availability of booking things on you own now a days, I have done it in the past, and with it not being my every day job, it was stressful ! I decided to reach out to a travel agent to help with that anxiety. Jeff really made the experience so positive and instead of being stressed to book, we were excited! Jeff shared his personal experiences with travelling to help us pick the perfect trip and steered us into the right direction. Fantastic experience: I first reached out via email to Murdoch Travel in mid July 2021 to inquire about flights to India for a tour I booked. Alex Jorgenson replied promptly advising I wait until closer to my departure date to purchase tickets due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic in India. I value her expertise and professionalism. My second correspondence with this agency was my wanting assistance planning a trip of a lifetime to Lapland Finland to stay in a glass igloo and see the Northern Lights, a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl (btw, I saw the Aurora Borealis 5 out of 7 nights just last week, Nov. 2021). Melissa Del Re recruited another travel agency to create a package for me and handled all of the forms and documents required. She answered all of my questions in a timely manner and even communicated with me on my day of departure about a potential airport disruption. Melissa is a friendly, helpful and enthusiastic travel consultant. I highly recommend Murdoch Travel. Their customer service is excellent and they have a genuine interest in your vacation satisfaction.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé and I booked our destination wedding with Jeff and his team. They had their work cut out for them with 80+ people coming to a wedding in Jamaica from 5 different destinations in Canada. All of our guests were able to book their vacations through our wedding website which Murdoch travel set up for us. They booked everything with such ease and everything was so organized. Unfortunately, covid changed our plans, but even the cancellation process was handled in such an organized manner and so professionally. Fantastic experience: My wife and I recently booked our family cruise with Jeff and he was very knowledgeable and extremely patient with us. We have been on numerous cruises as a younger couple but this is the first time booking as family (our children ages are 7, 7 and 5). We were having trouble deciding which rooms to book and asked Jeff to hold the rooms that were our first choice. There was no charge to hold the rooms and since we were indecisive Jeff took the liberty to monitor our second and third room choices as well. It took us almost a week but right before we finalized our booking we decided that our second choice room better suited our needs. Fantastic experience: My husband and I booked our 10 year anniversary trip to San Francisco with Jeff. He was very helpful in dealing with some issues that came up with checking in and getting seats reserved for our flight. Negative experience: Started working with Jeff for weeks planning a wedding and was finally ready to book, when I got the contract it was completely different then what I requested and was actually asking for full payment 6 months before the trip (none of this was mentioned until I got the contract). I found the communication poor, when trying to resolve I was treated rudely and I would not recommend any bride to start this way, as now I have to look for a new agent and start over (losing weeks of work and efforts). Disappointing and do not recommend.
