Fantastic experience: Barcelo Karmina Palace Deluxe, Manzanillo Mexico My wife and I enjoyed our trip for her 50th Birthday. Hotel is very clean and the staff are happy and lovely. They gave us a bottle of champagne one night and a chocolate covered strawberries delicately decorated another night and a delicious cake another all because our travel agent asked to make her birthday extra special. The food in the restaurants are fantastic but big kudos go to the buffets! What a delicious variety and well presented. The city of Barra El Naveda is my favorite excursion. It is the tropical tour which isn't that tropical but visiting this town was so delightful. There are so many Canadians there and surfing.absolutely beautiful! The only downside is we both were bitten horrifically from no see ums. Suffering horribly now with swollen itchy bites. However, our bad for not bringing bug spray. I also found out this is the season for them and should be OK from April to November. I highly recommend the hotel. They have their own bay with water sports to go out into the ocean and if you like to hang out on a long beach there is one right beside it. One more note is that the city is very safe and people don't bug you when you walk around town. They have little crime and most have jobs. My two cents. Fantastic experience: When we were planning a Sikh destination wedding we had no clue what we were doing. We found Megan and she was a god send. She had so much knowledge of what hotels and vendors are available to the Sikhs who are planning a destination wedding. She went above and beyond to help us plan a beautiful wedding. Not only did she help us plan the wedding but she took care of the all the details, which was a huge relief. She also took care of booking all our guests and special considerations without any issues. She is prompt, knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of working with Megan to book our first family trip with our baby to Mexico. She had made the experience booking very easy and answered all of the many questions that I had. There is always some stress travelling for the first time with a baby under one, I feel that she helped me plan to ensure the trip was as smooth as possible. Fantastic experience: We booked our destination wedding through Megan and I can not even begin to tell you how much help she was. Planning a wedding is hard enough, planning a destination wedding is almost close to impossible unless you've got the money and time to go back and forth from your home to your destination. Megan not only acted as our Travel Agent for a big group of 30 people, she helped make sure everyone was okay in regards to flights, days and time even when one of our connecting flights needed to be rescheduled, she also acted as a middle man between myself (the new bride) and the resort planner whenever we didn't hear back from them. When we struggled, she would always be there to reassure us that everything would be okay. Whenever we had questions about anything, she had tons of information for us to help assure as that we would be okay. There were many times when I was on the verge of a breakdown and Megan was there. Her just communicating back and forth about my countless questions and concerns made planning a wedding you can't see so much less stressful. I am so happy that we went with Baconko Travels as our destination wedding travel agency and you can be sure the next time we have a big group vacation to plan, we will be back with Megan again. Fantastic experience: Booked our trip through this company for our friends' destination wedding, and on top of it, it was our first time in Mexico. Megan was our main contact and she was very easy to work with, was prompt with her responses, and when our flights ended up changing, she made sure the transition was quick and clear and painless. As this was my first time in Mexico, Baconko provided an information package that gave us tips and advise on what to look out for. The info package was wonderfully helpful, and I was able to mentally prepare myself for some of the pushy sales people at the airport trying to sell time shares, and prepared myself to find the right shuttle bus even though someone might hold up a sign that corresponds with our final destination. All in all, I found Baconko and Megan to be very helpful. They were prompt with their responses when I emailed them, and they provided the right amount of information when I requested it. Would definitely book through them again!

Negative experience: They were hired for a destination wedding. Just to star things off they booked a flight with a stop over when direct flights were available. Once we landed in Mexico there was a bus waiting for us so we started getting on the bus, the agent(who was traveling with us) said that there was another bus that we could get on...the second bus was not required and was on the bill. No one got on that bus. After she said we could get on that bus if we wanted she left and was nowhere to be found, a friend of the bride had to organize the bus and get the check list done before the driver would leave. We finally got to the resort two hours after landing when the bus ride was only 25 min. She was not there to greet us. With many wedding events planned over the three days she seemed to do the minimum amount of work required. This is not a company I would recommend or ever use again. Not to mention the poor customer service, we asked around and almost everyone in the wedding party was charged a different price What's up with that? Beware!
