Negative experience: I purchased the CAA premier service based on the towing distance to get my vehicles back home in the event they left me down. I had a vehicle that was broke down and I was looking to get it towed to my residence as it is kept there during the winter months and I would repair it myself over the winter. I had called CAA and asked if this was something that was covered and was told "yes". After trying to arrange the tow I was then told that it isn't covered and has to be towed to a repair facility. This was frustrating since I was told different, and the way I was treated was completely unprofessional. I was even more surprised that when I said, "since I do 90% of my own repairs that maybe this service isn't for me". I was told "probably not". I know numerous people who have had a vehicle towed to their residence. The conversation was clear that they were blaming me even though I was misinformed by there own staff. I thought this offered a piece of mind when traveling but my first and only experience was completely unacceptable and left me doubting they would be there if i needed them again. I have I reached out to PR and also the CAA ombudsman and after a week I still haven't received a response. Not even an acknowledgement. I expected to be contacted and some effort to be made to apologize at the very least. I had to make alternate plans (even though i have a membership) to get the car home. I guess she was right, it isn't for me.
Fantastic experience: I have to say having CAA has been a blessing I have had my membership for a few years nothing bad to say the drivers are great personality there to help you they respond fast to as they can not only friendly staff that answer the calls always polite and friendly thanks Caa you got me out of alot troubles from being broke down or stuck the price is fair and always good to have look into getting a membership for yourself or a great gift for a family member
Negative experience: Had my vehicle towed to Subaru dealer by CAA. Dealer unable to repair. Contacted CAA to have towed to a commercial private lot. They refused said I was only allowed 1 tow per breakdown. Had to hire a tow truck $250. later. Not a happy customer. Cancelling my membership and recommending to others save money hire a tow truck if you need
Fantastic experience: My first time ever with CAA as I always figured I would never need,, however today I did. My initial call to the Company was handled to the fullest of degrees unimaginable and to the employee whom came to my assistance was beyond being Fantastic. Negative experience: I was in a different province and left my car at my mother's. She tried to start it and it was dead. I called CAA in Calgary and they said given I would not be home Friday until very late and wouldn't have access to a vehicle for the weekend she said we could probably help BUT not to quote her. She transferred me to CAA Atlantic, not only was the woman ride in general but explained the policy is to be there with the vehicle, no exceptions. I've been a member since 2021 and I am not renewing for that reason. Thank you so much for me wasting $200 on a tow

Negative experience: this has to be the WORST COMPANY IVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH...I needed a tow on labour day & didn't get a tow til over 24 hrs later. ..& I am unlucky enough to have CAA INSURANCE AS WELL..& guess what 2 days of trying to file a claim on the 1800 number ..on hold for over 4hrs & still no claim is filed..I actually had to contact my broker to try an reach out to caa lol...IlI CANT WAIT FOR MY POLICY TO RENEW SO I CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE... WORST COMPANY EVER

Positive experience: I stopped in to obtain an international driver's permit before a trip to Europe. Service was friendly though it took a while to be acknowledged by anyone. They were busy but I definitely felt invisible until someone not behind the counter, but at a desk offered me assistance. Registering for the permit, I asked them about the benefits of membership and if it would be advantageous to my permit registration. I ended up getting a newer class of membership that does not offer roadside assistance since my car comes with that. Instead, I get the discounts which may be beneficial in the long run. Time will tell. On the plus side, no pressure to sign up for membership. On the minus, I had to pry that information from them. It's like they don't want members!
Fantastic experience: Simply the best. They have bailed me out a few times already saving me at least $1000.00. If you don't have CAA I advise you too get it even if you only get the 3 cents off of gas a litre and never need a tow it's worth it.

Negative experience: You would think an INSURANCE company would cover things on your vehicle like a windshield but I guess they can pick and choose who they want to help and who they don't. So after 4 days of having my vehicle and spending $50 in cabs to get to work and another $50 in gas going back and forth (45min to where my vehicle was being held for absolutely no reason) without my vehicle it was returned to me with NOTHING FIXED. Was hoping by switching insurance providers I would have better treatment but that was definitely NOT the case. I'm disgusted by the waste of time money and energy I spent on this company...DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Negative experience: I had switched to CAA many years ago after shopping around and found their auto insurance rates to be very reasonable, I later moved my house insurance there as well. In 2022 I had a minor accident and in 2023 my wife had a minor accident, no one hurt later we received a registered letter saying that CAA is dropping us as clients. I spoke with 2 CAA representative and was told that it is CAA’ policy to drop any customer who has 2 accidents in a 5 year period and that this is how they keep their rates low. Great insurance company as long as you don’t have to use their insurance.

Fantastic experience: CAA has been great with policy pricing. Cut my auto and content insurance in half from a company I'd been with for years without claims. Its just kept rising and I called CAA and they quoted me by half! Plus with membership you get insurance discounts and road side assistance and free towing. Well worth the switch! They also insure off road vehicles!
Negative experience: Avoid using CAA Insurance. After receiving this year's jacked up renewal for my home insurance I quickly found another provider -- at a much, much lower rate. There was more than enough time to cancel the upcoming payment for the new insurance. I contacted the broker, Steers Insurance, and they confirmed and assured me the payment would not go through. However, the broker is now blaming CAA Insurance's accounting system for the reason why the payment -- without authorization and with the assurance from CAA Insurance themselves -- went through anyway. Now I have to wait until late May to receive the refund for the payment. Don't deal with CAA Insurance. You, too, will regret it.

Fantastic experience: I don’t know if this is the location the tow they sent me came from but I had to write this somewhere. I had a guy name Jonny pick up my car (Kia soul for reference) today. He was super friendly, made me feel so much less stressed even though I’ve had 3 solid days of insanity with my car. He made my experience so easy and chill. It literally chilled me out. So I don’t know if anyone reads this but give Johnny a big raise!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I've been a CAA member for over 15 years now. When you live in a city, CAA is must. And we save money on travel, hotels, pizza (Papa John's give 25% off!!), and whole list of things, so it pays for itself. If you break down in traffic in a big city, CAA is a must... just for one tow alone, it is worth. I signed up for peace of mind. Think of it as insurance, but unlike regular insurance, it pays for itself.
Fantastic experience: After over a year of CAA membership I finally needed a tow. There I was in the heat of "May weather" sitting in the parking lot of a church with a broke down car, God sent Brandon came to the rescue. He was pleasant, professional and courteous. I was given a lift along with my car to the mechanic. He even took his time to have a chat while we venture into the garage. It made the bad situation to a a really good experience. I thought Brandon was fantastic! He works 4 days on, 4 days off but I feel like he deserves more rest that 4 days, after all he works super hard! Kudos to you Brandon. Thank you for saving the day!

Negative experience: We bought 60 days o travel medical from this dartmouth ns office and things were fine (no claims) untill we tried to extend the coverage for a couple of days at the end . We were informed that since we were going over the 60 days our premium would be approx $5 dollars a day higher than previously paid.This was not a problem untill they said that the $5 a day would also be added to the entire 60 days of the policy--- they wanted Approx $225 to extend the policy for 2 days ----- what a scam -----This was not explained at the start and I checked with the manager in the halifax office and was told that I should have only been charged the $5 on the extended days --- seems like the right hand doesn't what the left is doing------ if you deal with this office get the extension ppolicy in writing ---we came home 2 days early Ian A
Fantastic experience: It was a Friday night around 6:15. My husband and I stopped and parked our vehicle in this empty parking lot behind a big white building in Dartmouth , NS, to try to figure out how the GPS worked when a woman came out of the building and walked over to us. We wanted to go from point A to Point B but we were completely lost. She started to give us directions but quickly noticed we were not familiar with the city. This kind lady then offered to lead us to our destination and we followed her in our vehicle. When we arrived and expressed our heartfelt thanks, she told us she worked for CAA. Her name is Tanya, our earth angel. Thank you so much. You went beyond your duties to help a stranded couple. We are forever grateful. Negative experience: I wish I could give 0 stars. Nowhere on their website when scheduling roadside assistance online, does it say that you absolutely must be present when your vehicle is towed. I spent $100 for this service only for the guy to show up and tell my partner, no, I will not take this vehicle (and not even call me to say he isn't taking it??) then proceed to turn my vehicle on TWICE, when the issue could in fact be made MUCH worse, irreparably worse, by doing so, without my permission. So you won't take a vehicle when the owner isn't present but you'll literally get inside and turn it on? Twice? Without knowing what's wrong with it? Actually ridiculous. And customer service did nothing to help/refund/apologize when I called. Horrible company. Horrible.

Negative experience: After 2 years of Premium membership I finally required roadside assistance. I was refused service because my truck has a flatbed instead of standard truck bed. No one asked when they sold me my membership, but they asked and refused me when I needed them. The same local tow company that they use had no problem with my truck. So.I am out 2 years of membership dues and $125 plus tax for today's tow. Rotten deceptive thievery in my opinion.
