CAA Store - Don Mills

Fantastic experience: Had to get an International Driver’s License. This CAA store made it super easy. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. Too bad Service Ontario can’t be as efficient or as pleasant as CAA!!!

Negative experience: Hybrid drivers be warned, they do not replace 12v batteries on hybrid vehicles. This is not advertised. Very disappointing.

Positive experience: Here for international driving permit and travel insurance. The staff we encountered is very attentive and helpful. Overall, it was a nice experience. The only complaint is …. there’s no clear indication where the line is for different needs in the store! There are different areas with staffs for different offerings of CAA but no idea where to line up to be the next in line! Very confusing

Negative experience: Terrible customer service.

Fantastic experience: Went to confirm the status of my membership. Shantol was able to quickly confirm my question. She also followed up on the status of my order, due to the postal strike. She also helped me solve my issue with the CAA app. The problem seemed so simple, just use your full name that is registered to your CAA card. Why didn't the app mention that? Store was super clean, service was promptly available. Note there are other available CAA stores in the surrounding GTA area! Thumbs up Shantol!

Negative experience: We visited this location for the first time. I was very disappointed by the bad attitude of the staff. It was as if we were bothering them. They were chitchatting among themselves. They didn’t have much of a knowledge and when I asked questions they were answering but in a way of brushing me off. I felt like I have to leave the store. They were not welcoming at all! Will not go back to this location again.

Fantastic experience: Great experience, went in for International Driving Permit. Took less than 20 minutes to finish. Highly responsive team.

Negative experience: Purchased an International Drivers Permit for the first time to rent a car for my honeymoon in Korea, as our trip was based around having the rental car. However, CAA did not stamp the license correctly and we were unable to rent a vehicle during our honeymoon and leaving the permit we paid for useless. At the time of getting the permit, the CAA worker seemed very distracted watching the Olympics through her monitor, and most likely forgot to stamp all the required fields on the International Drivers Permit which caused a major issue on our end and did not allow us to rent a vehicle during our honeymoon. This was very disappointing and frustrating on our end that a CAA employee could be so unprofessional to not correctly complete our required permit? Do better

Positive experience: Friendly employees but it’s understaffed. Always a line up, even if you arrive at opening time. Lined up for 14 minutes for a quick photo. The store is too warm as well, so you might look shiny/sweaty in your photo!

Negative experience: Just wanted to buy a money belt. Huge line for people waiting to meet with agents. No way to just make a simple purchase and leave. Store filled with merchandise and no way to easily purchase it. And as you’d predict with this type of management, they are closed on Sunday.

Positive experience: Lately it has been hard to find an open office. The one in Newmarket is closed and the next closest one was also not open. Luckily I found this one...but it was a leap of faith. I couldn't trust the times listed on the map and the telephone never connected to a real person. Despite this, when I got to their office, they were professional and efficient. Lots of cool travel stuff on display.

Positive experience: A pretty busy location. Service was great. Wouldve given 5 stars but no one answers the phone when i try to call no matter the department. Has happened on multiple occasions.

Negative experience: Passport office rejected the CAA photos taken here due to ‘flash’ on the cheeks. Utter waste of time and money. Learn to take proper photos!

Fantastic experience: Went there to get international driver's permits and received great service from Joseph. Everyone was really friendly to the customers there.

Negative experience: Staff are helpful but only if you can endure the long line up and wait of an hour or more to get to one. There should be more staff and perhaps starting at 9am rather than 10am. If you are that busy and want to keep the customer happy, give them some service without the long line ups and waits.

Fantastic experience: Pretty busy when I went to apply for my IDP. However, the line moves fast and the staff are efficient and kind. Sue was able to get my passport picture and give me my IDP very quickly. They accept your temporary license with your old drivers license photo.

Negative experience: What a bad service, I called the CAA for the service, told them that it is on the way, I told them that it is Audi Q7. They assigned the tow truck and told me that when the tow truck will be on the way we will send you the message, after 40 minutes the guy came with smaller truck and wanted me to take the blame if the vehicle will get damage. I then called the CAA about that and asked them to send me the flatbed. The person I talked said to me that she is going to send me the flatbed. I called the CAA again after one hour because I was not getting the message, they said there is no service call assigned. They assigned the service call and then the same problem, guy called me that I will be there in 20 minutes he came after 45 minutes. Then he is asking questions what happened to car and so on, get the ID confirm the person and tow the car don’t ask too many questions, This is the worst experience I ever have.i don’t recommend CAA TO ANYONE. Because my wife is on the dark street for 3 hours at 12 at night.

Negative experience: I'm surprised to say that my experience was not great at this location..to start as soon as I walked in, and everyone looked miserable. People talking to customers and not a single simle on anyone's face (except one). When my turn came, Aneesh called me over for my passport photo (again, no smile) just get in get out attitude. Took the photo and it had a shadow, I requested a retake, which he did but this other Staff member commented "good thing it worked out" smiling at the one who took the photo with the notion as if I was difficult. I just asked for a retake once. It just felt very uncomfortable, and I kept quiet the rest of my time there. I was afraid to speak, thinking they would assume I'm a horrible customer for asking any question.. also be aware they do not answer phone calls. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I was out quickly. Since it was quiet at this time.

Fantastic experience: I would have never thought if a CAA store to be anything more than an office, this turned out to have a lot of merchandise as well. Pleasantly surprised! Staff was very friendly and helpful and explained different options available to me.

Negative experience: Slow service and there was no line-up. 3 staff for 3 customers on a Saturday. I ve been a CAA member for 20 plus years.

Fantastic experience: Came to this location to get my international drivers permit, and I must say I was impressed with the service. Sue greeted me almost instantly and brought me over to the desk and began the process within a few seconds. Joe took my photo quickly and even gave me some goodies for my travels. The whole process took me a total of 5 minutes. Shoutout to Sue and Joe for the efficiency and great service. Would recommend this location to anyone I know!

Fantastic experience: We went to the CAA store to get our international driving license permit. We parked across the street for free. The wait time was very minimal and acceptable. We were served within about 10mins. The staff were really friendly. We took our pictures for the new permit. For the permit it is $31+HST and picture was around $9. Very easy and straightforward process. All the items in store had a members price and a non-members price. Members get 30%-50% discount. Overall a pleasant experience.

Positive experience: 5 stars for the gentleman who helped me and my wife get our IDP - a truly consummate professional. 1 star for the experience - this location was criminally understaffed and reflects very poorly on upper management. Do better. Overall 3 stars.

Negative experience: They have only one person serving the entire lineup for the most needed reason to come to the store on a Saturday. Not sure if the strategy is to lose membership?

Negative experience: I was there getting travel insurance and an international licence. The lady was rude and short with me. I think she was having a bad day. I use CAA all the time and found this to be a one off. The funny thing is I forgot to take my licence with me to Thailand. I gave it a 2 star rather than 1 because the store was not a good overall representation of CAA

Fantastic experience: Went to this branch to get passport photos for an infant. The staff there were very friendly and did not rush us. Despite not being set up specifically to do baby passport photos, they took the time to ensure we got a photo that likely to be accepted by the passport office. Would gladly give them business in the future.

I've had to use their roadside assistance on two occasions, and they arrived within 10 to 30 mins. They also send you a link to see where their service truck is. Needless to say, I'll be renewing my membership

Negative experience: Waited 20 minutes in line just to buy something despite 5 workers sitting around chatting. Also they don't have physical cineplex passes anymore and the deal is much worse than last year.

Positive experience: The new store looks really nice but they've got to find a better way to serve customers. On Saturday the lineup was out the door and on Tuesday it wasn't much better. It's one lineup for all the different departments. They should be separate lineups for insurance or passport photos or whatever else

Negative experience: Painfully slow line up. Membership issues and international driving permit line together. Expect to wait over an hour even in the middle of a weekday. Even if you have your photos and application ready and just want to pay, you wait in the same line. They should have a separate line for IDPs.

Negative experience: Be prepared to wait, bring water, snack. Super slow service and long lines. Expect to wait for at least an hour for anything in this place. Will cancel my membership today.

Fantastic experience: I was helped really fast and efficiently. I’ve been to this location twice. The first time they helped me get my international drivers license and it was so last minute I was freaking out I wouldn’t be able to get it on time (my flight was the same afternoon, only found out I needed it the morning of). The lady who helped me was so friendly and helpful she quickly put me at ease and as I mentioned it didn’t take long (maybe 15 minutes). I recently went this second time and am now part of the CAA family as I activated an account with them AND switched over my car insurance to CAA. super happy with it this far (price point and service). Fantastic experience: Amazing stuff. Went on a weekday. Was advised going on a weekend for a International license would be a long wait. There were plenty of staff. The website states 45 mins for international license but me and my mom got it within 20 mins not even. Just make sure to bring 2 passport size photos. They take them there too but if u have the membership 1 photo is free. But you can ger your photos done cheapie else where.

Positive experience: The staff took care of my international licence provided excellent service. -1 point is due to lack of nearby parking spot compared to the previous location and a setting in the store; there was a service desk in the middle of long line-up and a staff was taking care of a guest for her travel insurance without any privacy - all people in the line-up could hear her medical history! The website tells you you have to fill a form and need a both sides copy of your driver's licence to make an international driver's licence but don't bother. At this site, you just bring your Ontario driver's licence and they will take care of everything - even you can get ID photo taken here too. Great store overall.

Negative experience: Stay away from caa ppl unless you absolutely have to . There terrible at communicating they change adjusters a lot . There confusing when u put a claim in. They fight you on everything. They make you feel like you have done something wrong . And good luck challenging them on a claim cause there are like no lawyers out there to cover this stuff or when u do find a lawyer and the run conflict of interest on the company they end up not helping cause they some how they have worked with these insurance companies in the past . Paralegal can help on anything over 35000 . I could go on and on I’m a book of knolage on this . Caa has become a terriable company. Then they black list ya so when you try to get insurance somewhere else you now pay triple . And at the end of the day you as the client have done nothing but pay on time ect .

Negative experience: The service (or should I say lack of service) at this location is appalling. I mailed in my International Driving Permit application mistakenly thinking it would save me some time because I don't own a car and all CAA locations are quite far from me. Due to privacy legislation, you can't provide your credit card information on the application and a representative of CAA is supposed to call to obtain payment details once they receive the application. Someone called and left a voicemail on my phone asking for payment details one week ago. Great, I'd love to give that information. No dice. I have called every single day they've been open since then, multiple times a day. No one ever answers the phone. I have left two voice messages. I have emailed. It has been one week and I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me. I understand not hearing back for a day or two. What I do not understand is no response after one week. My application seems to be stuck in limbo for the indefinite future. Moral of the story: do NOT mail in your IDP application or go to another location.

Fantastic experience: Went here for to get an international driving license and literally took 2 min. Just bring your drivers license and photo. I think they also take photos inside CAA.

Negative experience: Called caa during snow storm couldnt start the vehicle, told useless AI answering machine that I did a battery test already on my truck, and it failed, asked to send driver with replecement batteries, even mentioned the battery model. Driver came 1 hour later without a battery, and he couldnt boost my truck, reported to customer service and lady replied that battery test on my truck was ok, they couldnt even boost the truck, and he agreed with test done! called chrysler roadside and they boosted no problem and confirmed charging system ok battery bad, they repleced battery and no problems after that! Uselless CAA with bad AI systems and no proper customer service, just horrible all around, I would give negative stars if possible! Even after complaint placed they invent excuses!! I have a receipt for the batteries from other place!!! I will not renew caa, horrible management, they should be replaced! Sounds like managers at CAA do not care about customers.
