Negative experience: caa has the most useless and laziest people working for them.. 40 days with a claim and no answers or any near in sight. my adjusters name is Prapaash Luedeke only call me for the first time after 30days.. then could never get a hold of him and every time I called they would say within 24 hrs and it's been 10 days after the 24hrs to hear his voice after calling 3 days back to back and hearing withing 24hrs someone will call you...save yourselves the headache and don't use caa... now my wife is at home with my 6 month old and we live in a rural area with no way of going anywhere if my newborn has an emergency...

Negative experience: My husband and I were trying to switch our CAA insurance from NS to ON. After trying for a week on the phone with long wait times and no luck we decided to head right to the CAA store in Barrie. Well, unfortunately our experience was worse live and in person. The lady in charge of the car insurance immediately had an attitude after we explained our situation. She said we can't help you because you need an appt. We explained we tried on the phone for so long and now we're driving with expired NS plates. She didn't care and said "you do have 30 days to switch it over." To which we said "we've already been here that long so can you help us?" To which she replied, "sorry NO I can't!" My husband said you're not sorry and walked out and she walked away. I literally stood there with my mouth open in shock with how rude and how discourteous this lady in charge of insurance was. She didn't seem to care that she just lost an insurance customer and we've also decided to not renew our CAA Plus membership which is supposed to renew mid month. We do not recommend CAA Barrie.

Negative experience: Called several times to have 1 simple question asked in regards to my policy and emailed......no response! Called the toll free number on insurance slip over 1 hour wait for 2 days, and I was traveling the next day and required the information!!! Ridiculous!! STOP ALLOWING PEOPLE TO WORK FROM HOME!!!!!!!

Negative experience: I recently visited my local CAA office to get my passport photos taken, and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. From the moment I walked in, I could sense the stress in the air. The staff seemed overwhelmed and rushed, which immediately set a tense tone for the visit. The person who took my photo was visibly stressed and didn't seem to have the time or patience to provide good customer service. I felt like I was just another task on their to-do list, rather than a valued customer. There was little to no communication or effort to make me feel comfortable during the process, which is disappointing considering how important passport photos are. The whole process felt hurried and impersonal. Instead of taking a moment to ensure that the photos were done right, the staff member seemed more focused on getting me in and out as quickly as possible. This led to a rushed photo session where I wasn’t confident the pictures would meet the necessary standards. Overall, my experience at CAA was stressful and unsatisfactory. While I understand that the staff may have been under pressure, the lack of customer service and the tense atmosphere made the experience unpleasant. I left feeling more anxious than I should have, especially given the importance of having proper passport photos. I wouldn’t recommend getting your passport pictures done there if you’re looking for a smooth and professional experience.

Negative experience: Insurance rep nice but impossible to reach on phone, goes to voice mail. Called central number on hold for 30 minutes and still holding. 62 minutes still holding. Customer service is terrible, worse than terrible. What happened to the days when a person picked up the phone?

Negative experience: Last year, my wife and I took an Alaskan cruise. in Preparation, we arranged flights and travel insurance through CAA. On the cruise, we contracted COVID-19. My wife's asthma caused her to be very ill and she was hospitalized in Vancouver on Sept 26, 2023. Unfortunately, she passed away on Oct 26. I lived in a hotel for 5 weeks thinking my expenses were covered. Not so. I was not told at time of purchase that the maximum trip interruption benefit is $4,000. My hotel and meal costs were over $15,000. The company CAA uses, Orion Insurance, was very uncooperative (or incompetent) and I have been unable to speak to anyone there. The number CAA provided is CAA's own call centre and they cannot reach Orion either. My advice is to not get travel insurance through CAA. Google "Orion Travel Insurance" and read the reviews. I wish I had.

Fantastic experience: As a member, received reliable personal care for an upcoming road trip. Received "paper" road maps & the opportunity to have our trip put into a "trip-kit". This store has everything you need to travel! Need passport photos, luggage, travel essentials, insurance (travel, auto, home), this is the one stop shop. Personal touch with the staff looking out for their customers!

Fantastic experience: I went into a reinstate my package specially now that winter is upon us we don't know what to expect and you don't know when you're going to need a tow truck or repairs on the road and it's always good to be prepared as the good old saying goes it's best to be safe than sorry there was no line up so the young lady that looked after me was fast and efficient a great personality and I think there should be more employees like her that treat people like they are somebody and that's important

Negative experience: Busy place! I had an appointment to book a flight. Melissa brought me in early and walked me through the processes and answered a bazillion questions! Two weeks after posting my initial review I am editing it. While my in person experience was great, follow up by CAA was very poor. I have emailed and phoned numerous times with no reply. I did get a call from CAA Brampton but could not get through when I called back. I'm very disappointed with CAA Barrie's poor follow up and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Negative experience: I called for service to change a tire and CAA left me stranded on the side of the HWY in a very stressful situations. Absolutely horrible service through their call center, they were more than happy to take my money and the sales agent said I'd be covered, then turned around and refused me service because they were not forthcoming with all their restrictions. On top of all that, when I asked to speak with a supervisor the service agent hung up on me ... ! Never recommend them ...ever!

Negative experience: Waste of time, buy on Amazon instead. It will save you time waiting for the lack lustre staff to check you out. Went in for 2 small items and ended up leaving after waiting almost 10 minutes. I was told “I’d be a while”, lol that’s an understatement to say the least. Total bust!

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my service. I took off from work early to arrive before they closed since they are only open 9-5. The woman who assisted us asked for payment for travel insurance before providing us any of the details of the coverage - we had to force her to describe the policy (which she did at light speed) before we paid for it. We then asked for a vehicle rental and were given no guidance. She took down our information but didn't comment on the fact that the rental agency would be closed the days we wanted the rental to start and end. She then told us there was 4 people ahead of us in the booking queue and that we would get a call the next day to sort out the details. After 3 full business days passed, I called and was told they had no such booking on their queue. I ended up booking online because it was much faster and allowed me to check what dates the service provider was open. The discount at enterprise was nice but was only about 5% off. I plan to return to get my trip planned (route, hotels, etc.) and will see how that goes, but ultimately it will still only be a mediocre experience even if that goes swimmingly.

Negative experience: The cheapest for a reason. It's been two months and our claim is still not sorted. They don't answer the phone or emails. It takes them weeks just to complete simple tasks. Do not expect any customer service b/c you will not get any. I still cannot believe what we have dealt with. They just do not care.

Fantastic experience: No one loves buying insurance but I came in here to buy roadside assistance for a Christmas gift and it was a very positive experience. The store/office is very clean and well laid out there is a store section where you can buy luggage which I didn't know . The staff was super friendly and I will definitely be back next year to renew the membership.

Negative experience: Supposed to have 24 hour road side assistance, however the towing companies aren't open at 5 am. If I'm not mistaken 5 am is withing the 24 hour time frame
Negative experience: Terrible service - planning a once in a life time vacation - went for an appointment and met with the travel advisor - gave her our wish list - never heard from her again - she promised an an itinerary the following Friday -called on Monday - call returned Tuesday with someone saying they would get back to me immediately - never heard from anyone again - CAA not the place to book your vacation - - went to another travel agent and got the service we had expected from CAA - definitely do not recommend CAA

Negative experience: After 8 months of my yearly membership CAA informs me that they no longer cover my vehicle. 2017 Sprinter Cargo van. My membership was paid 1 year in advance and I cannot get a refund for the remaining months. Had I paid month to month I would have not lost any money. Buyer beware. They can change their policy at any time and they will not notify you.
Negative experience: Returned a device to this store weeks ago then got a letter from CAA this week asking for my tracking device back or they will bill me for it. They can bill me all they want. I returned it to this store. The lady who served me was confused .

Very polite and was able to get me a new membership going that day and was available to have my broken down suv towed from brampton to midland ontario for only 130ish $ plus I still have 3 more tows available if needed this year aswell as they will bring me gas if I were to run out and or a boost if my battery dies! Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with CAA. Because I am a healthcare worker during COVID, they provided a free tow for me. They arrived in less than 10 minutes, and even though no one wants to have their car towed, it was as seamless as it could be from the reception taking my phone call to the tow truck worker. Thank you for wonderful service!

Called all day, about 160 times and just get the same " were busy with customers" bs So I went in and sat in a chair and tried calling them while staring right at them laughing and giggling and having a good time helping NO ONE. Phoned 17 times and no one answered even though they were clearly doing NOTHING. caa insurance is great, but good luck getting them to answer the phone at the barrie office -10000 stars
