Negative experience: Don’t ever fly this airline, this 3.3 stars is a lie. Only good part is the plane didn’t crash

Negative experience: Reservation F9QIX7 made on June 6, 2025 for a June 11, 2025 flight (Yul to FLL). Although I never received any email to do online check-in 24 hours prior to departure as all decent airlines send, I did myself my online check-in more than your two hours prior to departure policy. I did check the cases to receive my boarding pass by email but never received that email (2nd failure from your own system). I then try to obtain my boarding pass using the Transat app, but it does not let me to receive it. My Uber drop me at YUL at 5h39 AM. I walk to the Transat desk, which I should not even have to do given I do not have any bags to check-in and am extremely surprised to see the employees abandoned the desk more than 1 hour before the fight departure. I call Transat to see what this mess is and the person on the line hung up on me. What a HORRIBLE way to treat customers. I. have time to book an Air Canada flight, go through Custom and Security, walk to the Transat gate for which I had no way to obtain boarding pass given the HORRIBLE way Transat is conducting business and speak to the boarding employees. Even though the Transat flight for which I paid to get in had not departed, the employees refuse to let me get into the plane and even go on with a string of insults. My check-in was done absolutely on time, and I should never have been blocked to board my flight or forced and rushed to book a ticket on another airline to pursue my trip because Transat computer systems are not working as they should. If Transat believe it will get by with this HORRRIBLE attitude toward its customers, then it truly deserves the bankruptcy it is heading toward. Banks should cut all links with such a dishonorable company and withdraw all lines of credit and loan facilities. I flew to Florida 5 times in the last three months with airlines such as AC, US Airways, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines and by a long shot the Transat attitude toward customers is by far the very worst.

Fantastic experience: Beaux avions, propres, personnel naviguant très gentil, places spacieuses, personnel au sol souriant ! Que dire de mieux sur la meilleure compagnie aérienne au Canada :)

Negative experience: Je met une étoile à défaut de ne pouvoir en mettre aucune. Cette compagnie a refusé le sac de voyage de mon chat en cabine sans raison valable (celui-ci respectant les dimensions et les normes). J’ai du prendre un autre vol à mes frais et attend toujours un dédommagement ou ne serait-ce qu’une réponse à ma réclamation. Pire compagnie selon tous les agents de voyages de l’aéroport de Montréal ! Aucune assistance et abandon total des passagers dans une situation compliquée. De plus étant diabétique et en crise d’hypoglycémie, j’étais en situation de détresse sans aucune soutien et humanité.

Negative experience: Yet another story on Air Transat… TLDR: BE CAREFUL OF THEIR DISCREET PRICE CHANGE ON THE PAYMENT PAGE!!! NO WARNING FROM THEM!!! You’ll be given no explanation. Is it a normal increase? Maybe they are adding taxes (maybe VAT as in other websites on the checkout page, or maybe one of these creative travel taxes like tourist tax, or fuel surcharge…)? Nope, in fact, they just change the discount they apply, giving you no warning and no explanation, hoping you don’t notice it, or hoping you don’t understand what happened. And when you click “confirm order”, they just scammed you and you didn’t even realize it. During black friday, I wanted to buy a south package for my family. The one I set my choice upon, was advertised at 1769$ per adult in the search engine, indicative total of 4100$ for my family of 2 adults + 2 children during the whole “option selection” process. At the payment page, the payment total changed to 4500$, no warning, no explanation. Wondering if the package price had suddenly changed, I went back to the search page. The package was still advertised at 1769$ per adult, indicative total of 4100$ for a family of 2 adults + 2 children. I went through the whole option selection again trying to understand the 400$ difference. On the payment page, there was no explanation of why the total changed. I tried to understand if they were adding taxes but it was all grouped in a single line of the total. I ended up supposing the difference was caused by my older child who needed a seat on the plane, and paid a higher price, than my younger baby seating “on laps” on the plane. I bought the package. A couple days later, wondering if I had a good black friday deal, I went back to the website. The advertised price was now 1969$. So I first thought I had a good price. But, after going through the option selection, the final payment total was the same 4500$ that I paid. That’s the moment I realized that this time around, the total didn’t change between the indicative total (4500) and the payment total (4500). And that’s because this time around, they didn’t discreetly change the promised discount. So my first time around, when the total went from an indicative total of 4100 to a payment total of 4500. This had nothing to do with surprise taxes, this had nothing to do with child price. They just literally changed the discount and bumped up the price they advertised to another price at the last moment, giving me no warning, no explanation about it. Some of you will probably think “yes we know they can do this. That's just the way these companies work. They can announce a price and charge you another.” Indeed, it was my first time buying a south package, and I didn’t know they could do this. Now 400$ is not a huge amount, still I feel scammed by their false advertisement on their nice website. I tried calling booking assistance, they told me it’s completely and utterly normal that the price changes on the final payment page, and that they couldn’t do anything for me. They redirected me to customer relationships. Customer relationships tell me they understand my frustration given this experience during my booking process, but it’s completely and utterly normal that the price changes on the final payment page. They redirected me to booking assistance. Booking assistance now tells me “Yes, the payment system is always up to date. But there can be a few minutes delay before the advertisement/search system is updated”. I answered “the discrepancy stayed for hours! During the whole evening! I had the time to compare prices for different dates and talk my wife into finally buying a south package.” But, booking assistance concluded with a “I am sorry, I don’t have the authority to correct a price.” What a scam! I cannot understand, I went through the loop quite a few times, from mid-afternoon to mid-evening. So their payment system knows what’s the current discount it is applying for this particular package, and yet their system never updated the current discount on the search/advertisement page?

Negative experience: Pire compagnie aérienne au Canada. Après plus de 15 appels + de 25 h passé au téléphone et j'exagère même pas , on m'offre un crédit voyage de 100$ pour avoir annulé mon vol , et envoyé sur une autre destination a plus de 800km et le tout avec plus de 24h de retard , ca a completement gaché mes vacances , Je n'ai pas pu embarquer sur mon vol , car nous étions trop nombreux , le vol est parti sans plusieurs passagers, en aucun cas Air Transat ne nous a indemnisé comme le prévois la loi sur la protection des voyageurs aérien du canada Aucun moyen de parlé avec une personne du service a la clientèle dans cet entreprise. Lors de mon dernier appel au numéro d'air transat , Claire du service client , m'a fortement conseillé de faire une poursuite au petite créance . Quand on dit le mot OTC , personne ne semble connaitre cela chez Air Transat , Je vais faire une plainte a l'Office des transport du Canada et je vais entamé les démarches au petites créances. Negative experience: Long story I booked an 10 nights all inclusive package in an air Transat travel agency located at 56 Church St, Toronto, ON M5C 3C8, Canadá. On May 23th without any noticed air Transat cancelled the returning flight, I noticed it in the App so then a contact the travel agent named John Wilkie who surprisingly told me oh yes I have noticed it but I had not had time to let you know, he explained to me that air tansat had modified that package that would now be 9 nights the he said not worry because the price was going to change considerably to reduced one night, and that we would only have to wait for air transat to send the new price, this took a long wait of more than 1 month and when he finally had the information he told me that the price difference would be $26 dollars and not $180-$200 as he had told me, at that time I told him that I did not agree and that I wanted another option and the agent gave me the option of a full refund and I accepted and here comes the whole problem, I paid with a debit card from my country and they did not They respected that and gave me the refund through a check from Montreal which I cannot change or cash it because I do not have a bank account here in Canada and I have not been able to change it anywhere and I think I will lose my money. Is there anything you can help me with?

Negative experience: J’ai réservé mon vol le 28-03-23 pour Puerto Vallarta départ le 20-11-23 en club,3 semaines avant le départ je n’avais pas reçu mon billet d’avion, mon agent apprend que l’avion a été changé pour plus petit pas club ok ça été réglé, mais le retour qui devait être le mercredi 20-03-24 mon agent a reçu un courriel le 30-12-23 que le vol serait remis le jeudi 21-03-24 (en passant tout les vols du mercredi on été remis au jeudi en mars et avril ), en pleine période des fête je dois faire les démarches pour avoir une nuit de plus à l’hôtel (Je louais un appartement) pertes de temps et beaucoup de stress je ne peux pas avoir la réponse sur le coup j’ai du attendre quelques jours heureusement ma chambre était loué à partir du 21 j’ai pu la garder et payé, en plus de toutes les dépenses supplémentaires les repas et pour ajouter encore plus de problème à l’aéroport ils on enlevé le comptoir club la priorité que j’ai payé je l’ai pas eue il avait un comptoir pour club,option plus,flex donc pas de service 1 1/2 d’attente les employés me répondent on peut rien faire ils on coupé un comptoir portez plaintes à mtl (je parle espagnol). Mon agent a porté plainte il a reçu une réponse 2 mois plus tard la notification a été envoyé plus de 14 jours avant le départ aucune compensation. Je décide de porter plainte, je reçois une réponse, raisons opérationnelles attribuables à la compagnie aérienne, elle ne donne pas droit à la compensation, Cela veut dire que, air transat ne respectent pas leurs engagements ils décident de faire ce qu’ils veulent et nous les clients devons subir les conséquences, ça fait 27 ans que je voyage avec eux. J’ai porté plainte à l’office de la protection du consommateur ils son dans l’obligation de respecter le contrat si non doivent dédommager le client ,j’ai envoyé les documents à air transat, et je vais aller jusqu’au bout

Negative experience: Air Transat est définitivement sur la pente descendante tant au niveau du service à bord qu’à l’arrivée. Ce n’est qu’une question de temps avant que cette entreprise disparaisse. Ils n’ont malheureusement aucun respect pour leur clientèle et leurs représentants à l’aéroport sont blasés et arrogants. On leur demande un renseignement ou de l’information et ils te répondent comme si tu leur tapait sur les nerfs et tu les dérangent. Je ne comprends pas que ce soit toléré, ils font la loi et profitent de leur position à l’aéroport pour te faire sentir imbecile. Et ce n’est pas un cas isolé. Plus jamais dans mon cas!

Negative experience: REPLY TO TRANSAT: I already know these details , otherwise I would ask for my legal rights. Why did Air Canada returned my ticket but you could not??? What is your point Elisabeth??? Why can't you answer my question?? Your tool does not contain all the different travel document types so It is not fully clear or functional tool, that does not disclaim your part that Air Transat could not do what Air Canada do :) Again, You can have regulations but no customer loyalty plan at all. You keep arguing to disclaim here rather than at least apologizing. ________________________________________________ My feelings about Transat honestly changed 180° last summer. After I enjoyed my all inclusive with transat vacation + purcheses on the flight, I bough a ticket to Miami and checked-in at airport but I was discharged from the plane in preclearance because of a passport issue. I lost thousands $ from my bookings that day. Most disappointing one, Air Transat did not accept to return my 1 way ticket however Air Canada did for my return flight even though discharge was not their concern at all. If they did, you also could. Air Transat did not offer me even a coffee for consolation. Ugliest, I have to see your big billboard from my apartment in downtown everyday. A free flight something would change everything for me, now I never use transat, and I have been keep telling everyone who can afford a flight, to not to chose this fair weather friend. You can have regulations but no customer loyalty plan at all.

Negative experience: We bought tickets to go from Montreal to London and one month after they cancelled our trip and gave us the money back. I tried to reserve again and I saw the same trip at the same time but more expensive. Finally I had to buy the tickets more expensive but with another company!

Negative experience: My recent experience with Air Transat left me with mixed feelings because of the company's unpredictability in customer service and in enforcing their luggage policy. I flew from Canada to Portugal with a carry-on (a standard carry-on bought years ago, one which I used for many travels with several airlines without problems). However, on the way back, the airport staff in Porto did not accept my same carry-on because of the dimensions (the weight was less than 10kg, same for my inbound flight) and required me to pay 75 euros to check it. It is impossible to understand why a same carry-on luggage which kept the same dimensions and weighed less than 10kg would be accepted for one flight but not for the other with a round-trip ticket. I paid for a fare which included a carry-on and was denied boarding with it. Also, I was treated unfairly given how other passengers in my flight left the counter with their carry-ons the same size and/or bigger/more bulkier than mine. What made my experience even more unpleasant is how the Air Transat employee named Ana Pinho treated me at the counter. She was very rude and wouldn't listen to me when I explained that my same carry-on was accepted for the inbound flight and as I pointed out how other passengers around me were allowed to proceed with their carry-ons the same size as mine. I talked with her in English (not my mother tongue) and in Portuguese (also not my mother tongue), and when she heard my Portuguese with a Brazilian accent, she started treated me even more badly and would somehow mock my accent. I cannot understand how someone who works in the service area can make a client feel that bad at a personal level and have this type of prejudgment. I will not fly again with Air Transat.

Negative experience: J'ai effectuer un achat le 24 juillet et une demande de crédit à été faite une demi-heure plus tard, je devais recevoir ce crédit sur la carte de crédit au plus tard dans 5-10 jours. Après avoir contacter trois personnes de qui j'ai obtenu trois informations différentes je suis toujours en attente du crédit, aujourd'hui on m'a encore mentionné un délai du 5-10 jours. Un gros manque de professionnalisme.

Negative experience: Mauvaise représentation des produits sur le site (circuits) . Achat de produit qui a été modifié par la suite, aucune compensation $$$$. Ne respecte pas le contrat avec ses clients. Il existe un département des plaintes au téléphone chez transat. Il suffit de le demander et d'exiger des remboursements selon le code civil et la loi de la protection du consommateur.

Positive experience: Leur lignes téléphoniques sont tellement occupés que ça sonne même plus. Ça fait 1 semaine que c'est comme ça au moins. J'aurais pas besoin de vous appeller si votre système m'avait envoyé mon numéro de dossier en premier lieu suite à la réservation Je met 3* vu que j'ai été assez chanceux pour mettre le nom d'une agente de voyage dans ma réservation faite en ligne, donc j'ai du aller payer directement en magasin, mais j'ai pareil perdu mon temps avec le service téléphonique impossible. Mise a jour : le probleme de communication etait du a cause de l'agence de voyage en majeur partie. C'etait un numero de conformation sunwing acheté avec voyage transat provenant d'un courriel transat, donc le numero fonctionnait sur le site de sunwing. Dur a suivre mais ca a bien terminé

Negative experience: Manque dans le service à destination au Mexique et vraiment mal conseillé pour l’hôtel qui était pas censé avoir beaucoup d’enfants et que c’était le contraire. Chambre la propreté était à refaire.
Negative experience: J'attends mon remboursement depuis plus d'un an. J'ai dû rappelé au moins huit fois la banque et 20 fois air transat et continue de me faire baladé sans me rembourser.

Negative experience: Nous voulons repousser notre voyage à l’année prochaine. Je comprends vos politiques et procédures, mais faites preuve de bon sens. Le gouvernement du canada l’a réitéré encore, il faut éviter de voyager jusqu’à nouvel ordre. Qu’est ce qu’on Ne comprend pas ? Plus de 80 pays ferment leurs frontières. Alors nous voulons plus de flexibilité. A bon entendeur salut!
Negative experience: Never got threw!
Negative experience: AirTransat did not want to reimburse a ticket, even for serious family illness impeaching me to travel (severe cancer). Even with medical statement and even if they could still sell the seat for another costumer. Not even a credit or a change on the dates was possible. A company that has zero humanity and does not care much about costumer relationship. I will never buy any products from this agency in the future and I suggest no one to purchase with them without buying ten types of insurance. Because they cannot understand one's tough situation and escalate to resolve a problem. I'm really disappointed.
Negative experience: No customer service when complaining. No one from customer relations will call you even after 30 days and after multiple e-mails letter and promises. A company to avoid at all cost. Pay extra somewhere else for service
Negative experience: Be VERY careful booking with Air Transat. Their ticket maybe cheaper but they will hit you on the baggage fees. Even for an international return flight they charged my $55 each way for a checked baggage (Total $110!). They ended up being more expensive than the competition. Will NOT be booking with them again.

Positive experience: Great location. Pleasant to look at. People seem to enjoy what they came here to do. Could have better parking for drop off/pickup.
Negative experience: Cette compagnie c’est beaucoup dégradé dans le service à bord Les prix sont de moins en moins intéressants Les compagnies comme air Canada, Air France ect... proposent des prix équivalents et souvent bien plus interessant quand vous achetez un vol régional dans le pays visité Pour avoir sollicité leur service clientèle, les réponses reste froides, souvent irritantes , limite insolentes

Le service client ne cherche pas à solutionner vos problèmes mais uniquement à raccrocher le plus vite possible pour prendre plus d’appels à la suite j’imagine. Vraiment déplorable je vous déconseille d’effectuer des réservations sur ce site en ligne. Bonne journée.
Fantastic experience: So far, the best !
Negative experience: Very unpleasant experience flying Barcelona-Montreal, with family after holidays, 1 out of 3 suitcases was lost. Our luggage was a Priority and it was a direct flight. Montreal luggage claim office promised to reply in 48 hours. Nothing, not replying on the phone either. Finally I've got someone answered the phone in Montreal airport office after 5 days. The lady didn't have information about the suitcase and advised me to email to the central claim office of Transat. What I did, and again no reply. Very disappointing customer service , 8 days without any news from Transat.
