Our comment from TraTraTravel about G Adventures:
G Adventures is a renowned travel company specializing in immersive and culturally rich tours across the globe. Many travelers appreciate the company's commitment to offering small group experiences, which enhance personal connections and provide unique local insights. The emphasis on sustainability and community involvement, such as the 'G for Good' moments, are frequently highlighted as significant advantages that set G Adventures apart from other larger travel agencies.
Positive experiences from numerous travelers include:
- Exceptional Tour Guides: Many customers have praised the knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness of G Adventures' Chief Experience Officers (CEOs), which greatly enhance the travel experience.
- Well-Planned Itineraries: G Adventures offers diverse itineraries that cater to a variety of traveler interests, often incorporating local culture and history.
- Strong Community Focus: Travelers appreciate G Adventures' commitment to supporting local communities, which adds to the overall travel experience.
However, some feedback points to areas of improvement. Certain users have expressed concerns regarding:
- Poor Customer Service: Multiple travelers reported difficulties in reaching customer support and delays in response times, which have caused frustration.
- Unpredictable Pricing: There have been several mentions of price discrepancies, where early bookers felt they paid significantly more compared to last-minute travelers.
- Variable Accommodation Quality: While many appreciate the focus on local lodging, some guests experienced issues with cleanliness and the comfort of provided accommodations.
Overall, G Adventures continues to be a popular choice among travelers seeking adventure and meaningful connections, but potential customers are advised to be aware of the varying experiences and prepare accordingly.
G Adventures: Reviews
Fantastic experience: We are repeat customers. I understand the comments about not price matching later sale discounts. The issue becomes getting reasonable flights such a short time before departure. It doesn't make sense to get last minute discounts if the additional cost for flights outweighs this. As always, shop around and consider ALL costs. For me the small group focus is the real value. We have travelled on 50-person group tours with larger travel agencies. It isn't the same. We like the local G for Good moments. They have been some of the highlights. Also, we have found that the quality of the CEO makes a big difference and we have not had a negative experience with G Adventures in this regard. Lastly, we are not under 35 or 39 years of age and certain tours exclude us because of this. However, we have so far mixed well with travellers of all ages. That can be part of the adventure and we have made friends of all ages all over the world. Why exclude the traveller demographic with the most money for such discretionary spending? If the view is that old folks can’t keep up with young people, this has not been our experience. Age does not equal physical fitness or sense of adventure. We find many younger travellers lagging behind us. Don’t age discriminate.
Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to send through such a thoughtful perspective. You've outlined a great point about flight cost and booking windows, and I appreciate your feedback very much. Regarding our Roamies and 18-to-thirtysomethings product, please know the decision was in no way based on the idea that older folks are unable to keep up. There was a period of time where the restriction was merely a recommendation but during that time we received scorchingly negative reviews from clients of all ages. We found that expectation management was nearly impossible and client satisfaction suffered greatly. As a result, the leadership team made the decision to strengthen regulations surrounding these tour styles. We understand this left a few holes in our product line and in response, we have been rebuilding new, non age restricted itineraries that mimic the alternatives - if you're interested in seeing what we've come up with, please reach out to our sales team and they'll happily discuss further. We strive to provide the best tour experience we possibly can and all post tour feedback is taken seriously. Thank you again for your invaluable feedback - our world deserves more you. (And we can't wait to host you again in the future)
Negative experience: Did the Canadian Rockies Eastbound Express. The days started late (breakfast at 9 or 10am and then drive, long stops for lunch or snacks at places along the way that weren't particularly scenic, resulting in late arrivals at our destinations) and there was not enough time in Banff (less than a day). There was poor communication and almost no information provided about the history, culture, geology, etc of the locations that we visited. One of the hotels we stayed at was quite run down.
Hi Cindy, Thank you for sending through your feedback; I appreciate it very much. I'm sorry to learn that your experience fell short of your expectations. If you haven't yet, please be sure to log your concerns into our post tour evaluation form so they can be tracked by our local operations and customer solutions team moving forward. Our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: Just a warning to potential g adventure trip participants. I just finished a sailing trip and although the trip was amazing, I was really disappointed in corporate G Adventures. Between the time that I signed up for the trip (about 6 weeks before) and the actual trip they lowered the price by 500 euros! I contacted them and they wouldn’t honour the lower price for me. They have given me a 200 euro credit for a future trip but I still feel ripped off that the person sitting next to me paid 500 euros lower than me. So just beware.. if you see a trip you are interested in don’t sign up until the last possible moment or you could be paying way more than your fellow travellers!
Hi Beth, Thank you for your feedback regarding promotions. Promotions can occur at any time and fall in line with various marketing campaigns, holidays, etc. I appreciate this was a source of frustration for you and I'd like to extend my heartfelt apologies.
Fantastic experience: I got back last Wed night from my Best of Eastern Europe Tour and have to say it was amazing. Everything was perfect except for the fact that there was way to much to see and do in one trip. So that is why I am already planning another trip next year. Our CEO was great and I hope to be able to see him again, the hotels were all great as was the transportation. As this was my very first trip outside of North America and of this kind I was very nervous but that went away very fast. The planned/included activities were perfect and there was even more free time then I had anticipated, which I loved very much so. Again, Thank you so much and I look forward to next year.
Hi Jason! This was so great to read - thank you for writing in. We can't wait to host you again when the time is right! Our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: I don't recommend traveling with GAdv. This April we had a 7-day trip to the Inca region of Peru with GAdv. The company is very disorganized and that started showing prior to leaving. Then it was worse during the trip. We suffered through chronic poor communication, overpromising what would be seen during the day, one hotel with black mold in the room, and changing the group leader on a daily basis. Only positive is that the guides were knowledgeable and friendly.
Hi Tricia, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to send through your feedback. I would also like to extend my heartfelt apologies for your experience not meeting with your expectations during your time with us in Peru. Please know that I have passed your comments to our Customer Solutions team and they'll be in touch shortly. Thank you again for coming forward. Our world deserves more you.
Fantastic experience: I have just finished my “Absolute Türkiye” 14 days tour. I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to G adventures organization to pull together this tour with beauty, grace and professionalism. First of all, I would like to thank our CEO Nurettin Haliloğlu. Hate off to his professional, ethics and knowledge!!! He managed whole trip absolutely smoothly and ease which showed his strong grip on his skills. His work commitment was above and beyond. Performance 10/10. Second, our diver Jamal; what a great human he is!His dedication to his work was fantastic. He made sure to keep our travelling easy and joyful. Overall, in a nutshell, this trip was executed skillfully and beautifully I like the way G adventures, incorporated local culture experiences in an itinerary.. I would highly recommend to anyone who want to learn history, culture and grandeur of Türkiye Go for G adventures!!! My one suggestion: Kindly, increase the days in Istanbul because 1 day and half is not enough to explore the beauty of it.
Hi Amina, Thank you for the kind words! It's so nice to read about Nurettin and Jamal and how positive their impact was for you. Whenever you're ready to travel again, we'd love to host! Our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: I was looking to book a trip with G Adventures that was almost full, so from what I understood, you had to pay full up front to hold your spot and then staff would confirm if room was in fact available (and if not, an issue would be refunded). I paid for the trip in full, but an error prompt came up upon payment. I was then confused because I had a pending transaction in my bank account with G adventures. I had reached out to staff who then recommend I attempt repayment as they hadn’t received my payment. Once the payment was posted on my bank account I reached out again and received the same answer that they hadn’t received my payment. Frustrated, I called the bank who confirmed the successful payment. I then contacted G Adventures requesting a refund since the stress of having thousands of dollars charged to my account with no confirmation of a trip tainted my willingness to continue with this company. They had mentioned they had no record of payment and couldn’t refund me, which at this point was almost two weeks after my original payment date. I told G Adventures I opened a claim with my bank and somehow the next day all the money was refunded by G Adventures into my account, which was odd to me considering they claimed they never received my payment… It’s unfortunate I had this experience as I’m sure others have enjoyed their trips, but considering all the stress I endured even just trying to book one I won’t be booking with G Adventures again
Hi Meg, thank you for taking the time to send through your feedback. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for the challenging experience you've outlined to me. I can appreciate how frustrating that must have been. I'm unable to pull your file with your name listed here but I'm glad to know a refund was processed to you. Please, should you have further questions regarding this situation, continue speaking with the G rep you've already been in contact with and they will happily assist further. My sincerest apologies once again.
Fantastic experience: I recently had the incredible opportunity to embark on my first solo trip to Morocco, and I can't thank the team at G Adventures enough for making it an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. Our CEO- Abderrahim T (Abdul) was exceptional - friendly, calm, and always so well- organized. Despite facing a few unexpected challenges along the way, he managed everything with such grace, ensuring that everyone in our group felt completely at ease throughout the trip. It was clear that they were not only highly knowledgeable but also passionate about sharing Morocco's rich culture and history. The itinerary was fantastic, perfectly balancing visits to key landmarks with immersion in the local culture. Every stop offered something unique, and I felt like I truly got to experience the heart and soul of Morocco. I highly recommend booking a trip with G Adventures if you're considering a journey to Morocco. Their attention to detail, expert guides, and focus on culture exploration made this solo trip something truly special.
We love to hear it, Aishwarya! Thanks so much for the kind words. We can't wait to host you again - our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: Here is our disappointed story of the trip "from Budapest to Istanbul by train". First of all, the tour guide was fantastic. Without her, all the following sentences would be stricter. We booked the hotel a few nights earlier through gadventures to get some impressions of Budapest before the trip. But when we arrived at the hotel in the evening, nobody knew about the reservation. As almost all hotels in the city were fully booked due to a motorbike festival, we had to beg for help at the reception until late at night until we finally got a room for one night. Unfortunately, the service hotline of gadventures did not help us. When we asked the tour operator for a refund for the overpaid price, we did not get an answer for a fortnight. When an answer finally came with the refund amount, we were shocked. Not even the full price of the additional hotel booked that night and no compensation for the helpless night. The journey through Eastern Europe was promised on the German homepage as a journey by train. "Von Budapest nach Istanbul mit dem Zug" is a customer deception. We only sat on the train once for two hours out of about 40 hours of travel at least. We were very disappointed because we specifically wanted (and bought) a train journey. We would like to warn everyone not to be deceived by this. This is travel by mostly private buses. We are still hoping to get financial resolution for the problems and falsely advertised trip.
Hi Eva, Thank you for sending this through; I appreciate it very much. I'm unable to pull up your file with the information here but if you email [email protected], they will happily investigate further.
Negative experience: Canceled my trip unexpectedly and lost me lots of money on flights and deposits. Make sure you try to make your other plans refundable just in case
Hi Vienne, Thank you for writing in - I'm so sorry to hear of your departure. I see what you've been in touch with our sales team. Please raise these concerns with them so they can fully investigate and work toward a solution.
Positive experience: Looks like many people have had a similar experience when it comes to booking early... wait if you can; Wait until a few weeks out to get the best deals, been reading that early bookers sometimes paid more than double that of the last minute bookers! Luckily, after we booked early there was a big sale a few days later so G adventures had no issue reimbursing me for the difference so that was super great! Just be aware of this and keep an eye out for price drops on your trip, cause it sounds like the company is totally willing to help out the early planners if they needed to give major discounts to last minute travelers or they issued a big sale just after your booking. Specifically for the 30 day Southeast Asia trip for 18-30somethings (combination of the shorter cambodia & vietnam & laos/northern thailand trips): This is a low budget trip that just shows you glimpses of many cities in these countries. In general we were never in a town long enough to do something adventurous; most of the trip we spent our time in transit, with free time in the city, or doing some of the offered (additional cost) watered-down activities. Nothing is included besides hostels/budget-hotels, trains/buses/1flight, and local guides who usually don't actually do anything- they just tag along on the trip (and you are required to pay an additional small fee to them). If joining this tour just remember, the G adventures trip in SE Asia is all about supporting as many local people as possible, not actually about your experience as the traveler. However, the trip small group was great and someone we met said he had been on a lot of the G Adventures trips and he had enjoyed so many of them, so maybe just consider one that isn't in SE Asia with the company... I will! But anyway, SE Asia is easy to navigate on your own, even last minute, (which is what I was concerned about and why I booked a tour) but many people speak english and there are crazy amounts of options for transportation, even in more remote areas, and opportunities to stay in beautiful accommodations you wouldn't normally be able to afford anywhere else. Honestly you can skip cambodia (visa is strict anyway) and just focus on a few cities in Thailand, mid/northern Vietnam, and Laos to really enjoy yourself and get a feel for the countries/culture. If you need a visa in any of those countries, just put the entry date as the general start of your trip to give yourself flexibility, I learned that the entry date doesn't have to be exact; you can get in after that date, you just can't get in before. -I wish I had known that beforehand!
Thanks, Brandi, for your honest review. We appreciate it and your advice to other traveller. There are certainly advantages to booking with a group and advantages to travelling independently. Some trips provide more of an overview and others are more in depth. However, this is great feedback and we will pass it along to the relevant teams.
Thanks, again, for your post.
Positive experience: Beware G Adventures pricing! From October 22 to November 12, 2024 I was on a G Adventures tour from Montevideo, Uruguay to Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula, ending at Ushuaia, Argentina. The destinations and the sights we saw at each of them was absolutely incredible! It was like being in a nature documentary on TV. I thoroughly enjoyed this part of the trip. I was also very impressed by the expertise of both the ship’s crew and the G Adventures staff members on the tour. They were all extremely capable, knowledgeable, personable and thoroughly professional in everything they did. You could tell they all loved what they do. Everything was transparent and all operations were conducted in a very well-organized and systematic manner, with the utmost focus on safety and security of the guests. There was, however, one big negative on the trip. The tour was not sold out and G Adventures slashed prices prior to departure. I booked early and paid CAD $20,000 for a shared berth. I met a lady from Toronto who said she paid CAD $11,500 and she told me that just before the tour was ready to depart, places were being offered for CAD $ 9,800. I met a father and son from Bristol, England that booked two weeks before departure and they said they paid half of what I paid. Another guest on board had a higher class of berth and paid 25% less than what I paid. A discount of a few thousand dollars wouldn’t have bothered me, but we’re talking ten grand! How would YOU feel if a person enjoying the same trip and the same experiences as you, paid CAD $10,000 LESS than what you paid? You couldn’t help but feel like a sucker. You couldn’t help but feel totally ripped-off. My niece booked an African safari through G Adventures and she said the same thing happened to her. There were people on that trip that paid much less than she did because they booked late. Obviously G Adventures was trying to maximize revenue by avoiding a sailing with empty places, but not a good move from a marketing standpoint. A terrible way to treat good customers who had the misfortune of booking early. I sent an e-mail of complaint to G Adventures and to their credit they gave me a 15% refund. But of course they had to take their shot at me. In their response they said “sales and promotions are not uncommon. I’m sure you are well aware of this.” I wasn’t aware of it WHATSOEVER! I’ve never been on a cruise or expedition in my life, so how would I know these things? Maybe naïveté on my part, but I didn’t know this. Moreover they said that a few days after I booked, there was a 15% discount. There was a promotion imminent, yet the agent never mentioned anything about this to me at the time I booked. Anyway, to the point of this review. If you are contemplating booking with G Adventures, my advice to you is book last minute if you can manage it. You will save huge $$. Of course booking last minutes presents other challenges and increases the risk that you may not get on the tour because it will be sold out, but so what? For me, saving $10,000 is worth the risk. Besides, there are lots of other tour companies offering similar itineraries.
Hi Daniel, Thank you for taking the time to send through your feedback; it is much appreciated. I'm glad to know that you enjoyed your time on our little red ship. The staff onboard are truly top notch and the scenery is unbelievable. I've reviewed your file and, as you've said, the Global Lead of Customer Solutions has been in touch to work toward a resolution. I appreciate you remain dissatisfied and for that, I would like to extend my sincerest apologies. Please, if you have further questions regarding this matter, do not hesitate to contact the Customer Solutions team once again and they will happily assist.
Fantastic experience: I have traveled with G Adventure for 8 trips and definitely enjoyed the enriched experience including nature, culture, history and charity. The best part is that the CEO will facilitate transportation, hotels, optional activities, which is of huge help and so easy for us. I can only focus on having FUN!
Hi Yan, Thanks so much for the kind words; I appreciate it very much. We can't wait to have you back! Our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: Save your money. I did the Central America trip, which was allegedly the best rated trip. We were crammed 5-7 people in tiny rooms with 1 bathroom often. The accommodations were the worst I’ve ever seen as I’ve travelled a lot. I ran the numbers and the costs of the accommodations and how many they cram of us into these tiny rooms is disgusting. This company makes a fortune. Some of the hostels and hotels had broken door handles, toilets, foists, bad odours, no hot water, flooded water and no good wifi. I can’t make this up lol. Would rather be sleeping in barracks with the army than the accommodations I paid for. Travel - couldn’t fit well in these tiny buses they had that created more of a stiff back and neck. (Yes they have proper buses in these countries, even the Japan buses I was in had more room) I travelled all over Panama with a buddy for a fraction of the price, made friends at hostels everywhere and had very Good accommodations. This trip - You travel sometimes 8 hours and the first thing you do on your arrival to the next stop is get an hour sales pitch by their business partners for activities you were already told about. This is a mandatory part of the briefing which is annoying when you just want to settle in, chill, or get food. They don’t tell you what hotels you’re going to in advance prob for this reason as they try to find the cheapest for they save more money. I heard contik tours has way better accommodations such as 2 persons a room when they have bigger groups. The activities were found by a number of us without the ‘business deals’ G adventures had for literally half the price. Everyone in my group (20 of us) all felt the same, including people who have travelled with G adventures multiple times and were not impressed. I recommend you take the time to plan and book a trip yourself and the prices will speak for themselves. End of the day this was one big money scam from a business perspective I was not impressed as the company would still have made good revenue instead of cramming us all in the worst hotels just to make a lot more money. I posted this review here as the review through g adventures is under their company and I don’t believe would be accurately published. I hope this helps anyone looking into it, as I was really excited for this trip. This was my experience with this company and my last.
Hi Josh, thank you for taking the time to send through your thorough feedback; I hope you had a nice holiday. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for your experience not meeting with your expectations. I am unable to see your file due to limited information here, but I am happy to provide some additional information in the event you have not yet been in touch with our Customer Solutions team. G Adventures boasts multiple travel styles ranging from Roamies and 18-to-Thirtysomethings (basic service level with multi-share accommodation) to Geluxe (more inclusions, upgraded service level with twin-share accommodation), and others in between. In having read through your comments, it appears that you took part in a one of the multi-share itineraries and it may not have met your preferences. That said, if you haven't, please be sure to fill in your post tour evaluation so any issues with our contracted properties can be addressed with our operations team. Client feedback is incredibly valuable and learning from their feedback is one of the best ways to ensure our suppliers meet G Adventures' expectations. Likewise regarding tour pricing, I can appreciate that looking at individual hotel rates has led to the feeling of receiving poor value for money however I’d like to comment that a G Adventures tour is a combination of many things, of which hotels are only one part. There are many ‘behind the scenes’ aspects integral and dedicated to ensuring a safe and pleasant experience, this includes our operations team who makes sure each supplier has a robust standard operating procedure and all services are arranged, a 24-hour emergency support line should something unexpected happen, and a CEO available to assist with your needs throughout to name a few. All that said, I understand your expectations were not met and I would like to apologize once again. Should you wish to give us another chance in the future, we could be happy to host you once again.
Negative experience: I have done several tours with g adventures more bad experiences than good at this point. They outsource their tours which creates less accountability to company / what you pay for. My last tour we had to deal with cockroach infestation in the hotel the tour booked which his friend owned. I highly recommend you look elsewhere!!!
Hi Kristen, thank you for reaching out with your feedback; I really appreciate it. I was sorry to learn that your experience did not meet with your expectations. Please know that your comments have been taken on board. In interest of providing more clarity, G Adventures' tour leaders play no part in contracting our many local suppliers. That process falls in the hands of our local operations team the world over. In the event of a post tour concern, client feedback is reviewed and addressed with operations then provided to the supplier to adequately address. G Adventures takes great pride in changing lives through travel and strict processes are in place to ensure we are continually improving. In having reviewed your file, I can confirm that your post tour evaluation comments were read and passed on as per the process mentioned above. Likewise, I understand you’ve been in contact with our sales management team regarding the booking process for your upcoming itinerary. Please continue to speak with them should you have further questions or concerns regarding that matter. Post travel, if you have any pressing feedback, please fill in your post tour evaluation or email our customer solutions team who will happily investigate further. Thanks again for taking the time to provide your thoughts. Our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: I was left sick and stranded on the Southern Spain Tour. I am a 72-year-old senior who speaks little or no Spanish. I've traveled with the group several times in the past. This trip was unusual because I had three leaders over two weeks. I came down with a virus in Seville. It was my bad luck to get sick and have a leadership change during this period. I had to stay in the hotel until I recovered. My wife and other tour members went on to Barcelona. I contacted all three tour leaders and the 24-hour hotline. I got no text, phone call, or assistance from either. I was left to my own devices to make it to Barcelona. I tried to report this when I got it. I tried to get through to everyone. I suspect you will have a good experience with this company if you stay healthy and avoid injuries.
Hi Arthur, Thank you for taking the time to send through your feedback; I hope you're well once again. I had a look at your file and can see that a member of our local operations team made email contact with you on the 24th of October. This message may have been filtered into your spam folder and if that's the case, please accept my heartfelt apologies. G Adventures takes great pride in ensuring our passengers are safe and secure, and we have a stringent policy in place should situations of this nature occur. I appreciate your experience may be different, but please know that you're welcome to contact our Customer Solutions team to discuss in further detail. Thank you again for reaching out with your concerns; I appreciate it very much.
Positive experience: I've had a great trip with them in Patagonia and plan on using them again. The logistics and guide were great. Having said that, their tech situation is very bad. I've spend thousands of dollars and it's unclear on their (very slow) website and app if the bookings are actually being made. I recently requested to join a trip and I had to call them to actually get my request put in the system - after they charged my card over six thousand dollars! This is basic tech stuff, pretty important when you're charging people thousands of dollars!
Hi Cody, Thanks for taking the time to send through your feedback; I appreciate it very much. I've had a look and can confirm that your request has been sent, and I see that you've been in touch with our sales team. In the event an itinerary is on request, full payment is required to confirm services necessary to build out the tour. Should we be unable to confirm this itinerary, a full refund will be provided back to the original form of payment. Please, if you have further questions surrounding this process contact our sales team who will happily assist further. Thank you again for your feedback; our world deserves more you.
Fantastic experience: Did 10 days in Vietnam and loved it all.Our tour guide, Tu was Amazing!
Thanks so much for the great review. We are glad you enjoyed your time in Vietnam with Tu.
Negative experience: If you are hoping for a good or smooth experience I URGE you to avoid G adventures at all costs. They charged me more than the going rate and when confronted they gave me the run around regarding any refund. Katherine Johnson who works on the Charlotte St. Location was exceptionally rude. I have been an Internal Medicine Physician for over 7 years and not once was I treated so poorly by a "service industry" member. She was friendly and helpful until she saw me in person when she abruptly became apprehensive and dismissive. I believe she may have prejudices towards certain individuals/groups and ought to be investigated further. Honestly its companies like these and people who run them that are tearing the fabric of Canadian society. WORST AGENCY EVER, USE EXPEDIA OR AIRLINES DIRECT!!
Hi Suraj, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback; I appreciate it very much. I can confirm that we do not currently employ someone with that name but I'd like to extend my heartfelt apologies regardless. G Adventures is an inclusive tour operator and prejudice of this nature will not be tolerated. I understand that you may no longer wish to use our services but if you do decide to give us a second chance, I am confident that our sales team will provide exemplary service, as that is the expectation. Thank you again for reaching out - our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: too bad there is no minus 5 star basically all tourism company is a scam either choose to get scam or go by yourself you know what? ppl in the world are actually nice most of them are not criminals just like in Canada from outside we look like a mean stupid white people who rips off everyone like US ppl. but we know we are not so why do you think it is different in other place? ditch all the tourist companies, just go by your self world is better place than you think. basically I am saying G adventure is terrible business company they shouldn't exists in Canada it is disgrace they are allowed to operate in Canada. Do you need proof for my review? I have all the records of chat transcript and emails between me and G adventure. In case you wonder G Adventure Canada I will visit you at point grey station. it is so shameful how they treat their employees in other countries and I do now allow that as Canadian. Shame on you
Hi J, I'm sorry to hear that your expectations weren't met during your interactions with us. Please email [email protected] and our team will happily investigate further. Thanks for coming forward with your concerns.
Fantastic experience: Just got back today from a tour of a southern part of Italy. Our tour guide Cinzia was amazing. Friendly. Helpful and very personable. My wife and me had a wonderful trip and this person did such an awesome job we will be booking with G adventures again. Thanks for the great tour Cinzia! So glad to meet you! Will and Becky
Love to hear it, Will! Our world deserves more you.
Positive experience: I've done 2 trips with G adventures and loved each one. The exoeriences were priceless, I felt safe, they give back so much locally. I truly have so much love fir this company and they're Canadian. The itineraries are bucketlist material. The hotels are nothing special.
Thanks for the kind words, Harpreet! Our world deserves more you.
Fantastic experience: I appreciated a well organized trip in Costa Rica. Love that they arrange accommodations and travel and let you decide how much you want to do on your own or with local groups. Highly recommend G adventures!
Hi Sheri, Thank you for taking the time to send through your feedback! So glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with us in Costa Rica. Our world deserves more you.
Negative experience: Please AVOID. I booked a trip with Gadventures to Kilimanjaro Marangu route as my friend chose them. Firstly, they lied about the success rate on the Marangu (they said it was 86% and this isn’t tue is barely 45%) and the process of acclimatisation, when I expressed concerns about how fast we seemed to be climbing - summitting on the third night! -. I was told we could hike high and sleep low and this didn’t happen. The way the portray the trip as a 7 day is also deceiving, it’s a 5 day climb and you sleep 4 days in the mountain and 2 in a hotel. So 6 nights. Secondly, On their trip details they also state that single travellers will share tents with those from the same gender. This is also a lie. My friend and I are both female and we were asked to share with 2 males - which we declined, then with a couple from a different group - which we declined too!-.In the last hut we had to share with a couple and two males from our group as again no huts available and the couple had to sleep on mattresses on the floor. Furthermore, they allow they or the agency they use in Tanzania pay peanuts to the porters and allowed them to sleep on tables there weren’t enough rooms in the huts for them. Appalling. Certainly avoid climbing with them or the Marangu route. I have been to the Himalayas before and climbed 5,600 peaks and I have never seen this level of people being ill and this disregard for health and safety of both climbers and porters and guides.
Dear Patricia,
Thank you for your review. We were so sorry to hear these concerns. We take this very seriously. I can see that our Customer Care team has reached out to you. They have advised that they are investigating your concerns and that they will respond to you in due cousre.
Thanks agin for your review and the team will be in touch as per the timeline advised.
Negative experience: Went on their Antarctica expedition last Nov. Incredibly rude expedition crew.
Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with how Gadventures is handling their Jordan tours during the Israel-Hamas war. I called them multiple times and asked them to give us an option to postpone the trip or get a travel credit to use towards another trip since I don’t feel safe to go on this vacation in this situation. However, they are not compromising at all and I am losing all the money that I paid for. I am a returning customer and have already been to Peru with them so I was expecting better service from them. Will never travel with them again. Safety of their customers does not matter to them!
Hi Solmaz,
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing these problems.

Positive experience: I have traveled with G to 8 countries in the past year. The itineraries were always awesome. The hotels used were hit and miss with location choices. While lots were definitely not the cleanest, I can ignore that if they are good cultural representatives of the country and in a walkable location so free time can be used appropriately. The guides make or break such a tour and while some were amazing, my last one fell absolutely flat. It definitely matters, best to ask who the guide will be and what their background is. On my last tour we found ourselves many times eating in tourist traps with 300 other tourists, at an elementary school production of "professional" belly dancing and a magic show that was so cringe worthy at times our table couldn't even make eye contact with each other. The tour buses, so important for viewing were cramped, our last one and to be switched out twice. The administration: absolute nightmare. There never was a call back service over this year of travel, there is no way to get in touch with a WhatsApp account, I got charged for optional tours I never took and so many hours wasted on hold was just ridiculous. Overall I would recommend certain tours like Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Africa, but I do not recommend Morocco. I think these tour write ups need to include information on who the guide is, it just makes all the difference.
Positive experience: Good travel agency
Positive experience: It was indeed an Adventure with G. Itinerary is well planned suitable for different tourist preferences. The guides are knowledgeable and approachable, speaks English well, takes care of the group and welcoming. All breakfast included and duffle bags available to borrow without fees. Customer service are responsive and quick with communication.
Fantastic experience: Love love LOVE G Adventures!! I've done 3 tours with them and they've all been fantastic. As a solo traveller, it's a great way to see new places and meet a great group of people. The groups always become super tight-knit by the end of the trip, even with differences in age. G's itineraries always offer a mix of must-see destinations with some local flare that you probably wouldn't experience or find on your own. The guides are great and knowledgeable too. Can't wait to get back to travelling with G (after covid)!
Negative experience: Booked with g adventures before the pandemic and then everything was cancelled. Will not refund us our $300 op deposit, it is now 3 years later. Give us our money back G adventures!!! This is not right
Positive experience: Excellent tour , great guides, no problems. Looking forward to the next trip.
Fantastic experience: My first trip with G was 14 days in Costa Rica last month. It was a National Geographic journey. We had an amazing time. Hotels and transportation were decent. Meals were delish and our CEO Danny was very knowledgeable and did his best to make everyone happy. Our group was small but diverse and we had a good time together. I will certainly go with G again. I am not sure why these Google reviews are so biased. Glad I did not make my booking based on that. If there is one thing I have to suggest for improvement, I would say it’s the wait time on the phone or online for customer service. Way too long! Once I reached someone live, my concerns were properly addressed though.
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience with G Adventures! Travelled in United States. My tour was affordable, my small tour group was amazing, my tour guide was exceptional. Had excellent communication leading up to the trip. Looking forward to my next trip!
Fantastic experience: love for g! so good times.
Negative experience: This review is strictly about the company as itself and not on individual employees. i was on a trip when covid hit. our guide was great and cared and was helpful. this company was horrible, they didn't help us at all and offered a pathetic credit that didn't even cover half the cost. A credit which had an expire date as well. absolutely disgusting customer service. if anything were to ever go wrong with a trip with gadventures now? i would not be safe nor would i ever be compensated for a trip lost, irregardless of insurance as they easily found a way around that last time.
Negative experience: Im writing out of frustration, Ive book a trip to Bali and now have been sitting on hold for the past 41/2hrs, Totally unacceptable ! I cannot speak to anyone about a few questions to finalize details. I think is will be my last G adventure. Very disappointing and I haven't left home! First and Last "adventure"
Negative experience: G Adventures is a joke. Don't trust them with your life or money.
Negative experience: We are quite disappointed with G Adventures and Carlos in particular. He gave us a quote and a holding date. When we went to pay before the holding date, the link was broken. When we questioned them about it, they reported they had withdrew the offer and said the price had gone up almost $1000US extra per person. Very dishonest and not impressed with the service at all. If a hold was given, it should be honoured.
Negative experience: Don't waste money booking with G adventures Accommodation wise, all 3 hotels in 3 different cities were horrible even though the amount paid was decent The guide was so unprofessional and forced the group to places that the company deals with even tho there were so many other CHEAPER options Never recommended!
Negative experience: Never recommend G adventures - don’t ever waste money dealing with them! Decent amount of money for less than basics services. On top of that, the amount paid for each trip still has a lot of money that you’re going to pay during the trip itself so never believe that number shown online!
Fantastic experience: Thank you for this amazing tour to ancarctida !! Best 100 stars, thanks MARIO expedition leader
Negative experience: I booked in December 2022 for february 2023 departure and the staff was lovely. But now that I need to update my passport info to include my middle name and to inquire about the addresses of hotels booked for me by G Adventures to get eVisas but I was on hold for hours and nobody is calling me back when I opted for a callback. What happened?
Negative experience: WARNING DO NOT BOOK WITH G Adventures WARNING! WORST COMPANY ********************************************* Would give a zero if I could! G Adventures has the worst customer service policy that I have ever experienced. They 'suspended' my tour (purchased in Feb. 2020 for April 2020) due to COVID and have refused to issue a refund. The credit at 110% does not cover the cost of the trip due to the increase in pricing. The company also wont let you transfer or gift your credits, so if you can't use the credit, you lose it. Save yourself the hassle of working with them. It is only an adventure when everything goes smoothly.
Fantastic experience: We had a blast with our small group of like minded travel companions and an incredibly knowledgeable, personable and professional guide who not only stepped in unexpectedly to guide us to Machu Picchu, but also managed our expectations and safe exit in Peru's current state of emergency. Thank you Javier! The Porters, Drivers and all the support staff were top notch!
Negative experience: Best of South India November 2022. The tour guide and bus driver were both excellent: helpful, cheerful very knowledgeable and hard working. This was also true of the 3 local guides we had during our tour. The itinerary was also very good. However THIS TOUR IS VERY OVER-PRICED for the following reasons: (1) Many of the hotels we stayed in were filthy: including dirty linen on the beds, dirty, sticky surfaces and furniture, very malodorous bathrooms; and just all-round general poor cleanliness. Definitely not 3*. I found my own room for my last night's stay in Forte Kochi because of the very poor standard of hotel provided by G Adventures. This room was spotless and cost only INR1800 ($22). (2) India is a very inexpensive country for wages by Western standards. (The wages and our rooms would be only a small proportion of the daily rate paid to G Adventures - so I am curious how much of the amount I paid actually went into the wages of the people on the ground in India ie, tour guides and driver. G Adventures suggests, but it is expected, a large daily tip for the tour guides and driver. With 9 of us, this was a sizeable amount; and I do hope this tip is not designed to top up inadequate wages. The tour price I paid would more than adequately cover good wages - and still have a lot left for a large company profit.) (3) There are not many meals included (I think it was only 4, maybe 5 if you count the one on the train that made one of our party sick - I didn't eat it). (4) I notice that the Max size of a group has increased from 15 to 20. There were 9 in our group which was probably as large as you would want for a 'small group tour'. I have sent an email to head office of G Adventures in Canada with my comments, as above, but have yet to hear anything back from them. Michele Sydney, Australia
Negative experience: We did the tour "Best of Southern India". The tour including our guide Sanna was brilliant, there is so much to see, learn and experience in India. Sanna was really friendly, open minded, organized the tour really well and she was always there when we needed her. So 5 stars for Sanna and the tour itself. What makes me really upset is the money that g adventures takes for additional services. We booked a transfer from the airport to the hotel and then back from the hotel to the airport at the end of the tour. They charged us 50 Euros per transfer, so 100 Euro in total. When we realized that this is way too much for Indian prices (it should have been way less, even if the driver is tipped really well), I contacted the customer service and they said that it is not refundable. This is inappropriate in many ways. Also, another person from the group only payed 35 dollars for the same transfer, so g adventures doesn't even offer the same prices to everyone. Also, we arrived one day earlier and we payed 50 euros for the extra night. The hotel "Fort Kochin" was really dirty and unpleasent, and thus not worth the money at all. As g adventures did not offer any solution for this, I only give 2 stars. If that will change, I will adjust my rating. Anyways, the tour was great but don't book any additional service through g adventures, as the prices they charge are inappropriate and they refuse the refund.
Fantastic experience: We just used G Adventure for the first time and were extremely satisfied, and would certainly use them again. We went to Morocco, and we knew some things we wanted to do and see, but having never been to the region, we had no idea how to organize all the activities effectively and transport between them. We always had fun, and felt safe throughout. We found a tour which fit our goals, and not only was it very easy/streamlined, but they had tons of activities, took us to interesting restaurants, and so on, that we would have never even thought of doing or found out about by ourselves. I hope to travel with them again soon, and would highly recommend for people traveling to regions they aren't familiar with/ are less comfortable exploring and organizing by themselves. Also I should add the tour guide was top-notch (Abderrahmane El Ghal). He went out of his way to help us with an issue caused by our travel agent (so not G-Adventures itself) and always knew of spots to go to on free time.
Negative experience: Awful experience. I booked a trip for 2 people and fully paid for it. One person had a family emergency so we wanted to change the name of one participant to a different person. G Adventures insisted on charging more than $800 for 'cancellation' even though we were not cancelling and we were simply trying to switch one person on the reservation to a different name well in advance of their 45 day deadline for changes, and then said they can't even guarantee the 2nd spot on this trip even though our 2-person reservation was already fully paid. Furthermore their phone lines are 1.5+ hour hold and the online chat is spotty at best. This is extremely disappointing and will be the last time I use them for a vacation.
Fantastic experience: Just completed the 8 day Highlights of Jordan tour and WOW. What an incredible country, and this tour was a perfect way to see it. Our guide Khader was knowledgeable, funny, approachable and passionate, doing everything possible to make our experience 10/10. Each day was unique and packed with things to do, a few early starts, but coupled with relaxed nights this was no problem - it's easy to get up early when you are excited for the day! My highlights were the day at Petra and our time in Wadi Rum, although every day was great. I did almost all of the optional extras as they seemed a no-brainer to make the most of your time. Our group was a good size, transport was comfortable, food was delicious (if you like hummus + falafel you have come to the right place), and everything was organised well. 5* is not enough, I will happily book with G Adventures again. If you want to see Jordan, I recommend this tour! Thanks Khader :)
Negative experience: I have tried calling on several occasions to reach an agent to talk with (at different times during the day) as well as online, and I have never reached anyone, even when I leave a prompt to call me back no one calls and when I go online I'm told there are no agents. I have to say I am very unimpressed. I have never used G Adventures before, but if it's this hard to reach them I don't think I want to travel with this tour company.
Negative experience: I went on the 3 week Latina America trip several years ago. Before one of the tour guides tried to demand that I marry him (and other in appropriate things I won’t get into) so he can move to Canada… he had his friends rob me at near gun point - they took all my money and my passport. I was then abandoned in Honduras for over a month. Stranded with no money and no travel documents. Please note that this happened on the 3rd day of a 3 week trip - was never given my money back. Was in numerous dangerous situations and never once did I receive the support I asked for. Tried to sue and they even changed their fine print right after :)
Negative experience: My initial review was deleted but I think it’s important for it to be seen. I was on a Volcano trail: Waves and local ways tour in June 2022. To start with, note that I had contacted Gadventures previously to my departure date to ask about COVID regulations on the tour if ever any traveler would be infected during the trip itself. G always responded rapidly. They assured me the only consequence would be that the given traveler who would have contracted COVID would be forced to leave the group and be left behind, which to me, is fair enough. BUT note that our CEO caught COVID. It happens, I mean we just ended a worldwide pandemic, no issues there. My problem is Gadventures required us to pay 65USD for a PCR test and wait for the negative results before we could go on with the tour which would mean us loosing 2 days of traveling for a problem that wasn’t ours. At this point, we were in our last leg of the trip, in Costa Rica. Once you contract COVID in a specific country, that country’s law applies. We all had our own antigene test and offered to get tested in front of the doctor they had called. They refused, asked us to contact via videocall our local doctors and get a legal letter or code confirming we were negative, that was their only alternative. Let’s be clear, we were all on different time zones and we know how Western countries medical assistance is like, it’s never immediate. They assured us our insurance would cover it but after several calls to our individual companies, we found out none were. I find it ironic because being Canadian and G being a Canadian company, we aren’t required a PCR test anywhere in my country and it also wasn’t a requirement in Costa Rica so we felt like G was just trying to make quick bucks when it was their CEO who got sick, so basically not our problem. We all refused the testing and funny enough, when the new CEO heard us talking about signing off the tour and pressing charges because nowhere in the fine print was it indicated that this would be a consequence of someone contracting COVID, they let us off the hook…also, the CEO with COVID and the replacement CEO had been discussing all of these matters in the hostel’s lobby, a very small reception lobby where the owner and the doctor were also in. You can understand that even if they were all wearing masks, the risk of the new CEO also contracting COVID was high and we pointed out to him that his behavior could cause us to go through this whole process again and we were all angry and very dissapointed in the way it was adressed.
Negative experience: My friend got robbed by her own tour guide and stranded in Latin America for months (no money no passport) and when she wrote a review it got deleted…
Positive experience: This would have been my 5th tour but unfortunately it was cancelled. It wasn't totally unexpected since we are coming out of covid and a rep mentioned that might be the case on one of my later calls into customer service, but it's the third time that a tour that that was supposed to be a guaranteed departure was cancelled. G Adventures needs to stop saying tours are guaranteed departure. The main issue I have now is that I needed to fill out the flight information section on the Good To Go checklist by a certain date, June 8th in this case. Which meant I had to buy my plane tickets first. Unfortunately, we wouldn't know if the tour was on or not until two weeks later. They need to change the due date for the the Good to Go sections until after they they can confirm the tour status, so we don't waste time buying tickets only to find out the tour is cancelled.
Negative experience: I am a 22 time g adventures traveller and i would not travel with g again. i went to west coast with g thinking it was a canadian company and should be good. Post covid, they pushed some guide had never done the trip, brought us to wrong places, gave us only 10min at some places -maligne canyon which should be 2h. The guide had a nice personality but was clearly too young and inexperienced and not trained at all except for an email he had.
Negative experience: We just came back from a Classic Peru trip with G adventures. It was the first time booking with them. The sales office in Toronto made an error in our booking and put us on the Inca Trail while we had booked Cusco Stay. When the sales team was contacted they said it was our error, no exception would be made and we would have to pay $320 CDN per person to change this if there was availability. Our CEO who was caring and passionate about his job, arranged a meeting with the local manager at the Cusco office, who acknowledged the error and stated this had happened before and this was sorted at an operational level. There was the same disconnect between sales and operations team when it came to a booking for an additional night stay at the hotel. The quality of the accommodations was overall poor with little insulation for noise and warmth and often not hot water and sometimes no water at all. The included meals were inconsistent and were not nutritionally balanced leaving you feeling overall not great. We suffered from upset stomachs and were I’ll when we returned home. The included meals also did not include drinks, even water which should be a minimum. Sometimes hot drinks were included. What was positive was our CEO, the guides and the group we traveled with. We saw some wonderful things but also felt our time was wasted as they combined a few tours together so we had to go back and forth to collect the trekkers when we could have carried on. We had little to no free time to do our own exploring. I doubt we would rebook with G Adventures again.
Negative experience: Be very careful booking with G Adventures. If you have any issues or concerns, there appears to be no avenue for assistance, I have spent hours on hold, left my number, phoned head office — and been promised a return call within an hour — crickets into the wind. Once they have your money, they cling to it like Gollum. The brand espouses ethics, environment concern and so on, but the reality is they do not care about travelers once they have your money. Which is very disappointing because the tour operators are excellent and deserve more. In these times of turbulence and uncertainty, it’s not worth the risk of your hard earned travel budget. If you do decide to book, make sure you read EVERY line of fine print, and disregard what you are told should you talk to their global connection officers before they get their deposit.
Negative experience: Terrible customer service! They cancelled my trip weeks before it was meant to leave due to COVID-19, but I was already living in the location the tour was leaving from and none of the countries were closed for tourists (which is the reason they gave us). Also were required to be fully vaxed - if you knew you would cancel anyway why schedule the trip? At first they refused to give me a refund at all, only a credit (despite it being them who cancelled) and once I complained long enough they agreed. It’s now been over 7 months and I still haven’t received my refund. Have been told twice it’ll be “expedited” with no fruition; now I got pushed to “mid may” when they cancelled this trip in September. Totally unacceptable! I’ve travelled with them before and will absolutely not be again. Not trustworthy!
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience. I was able to get a return calls as required and they were always sending me emails etc to get ready for my trip. I had to cancel due to Covid and they were great to deal with. For airlines you need to make sure you have cancellation insurance.. this has nothing to do with GAdventures. Plus be aware of any visas needed.. this is on you to make sure you have it as well as any other requirements when entering a country.
Fantastic experience: G adventures lived up to the expectations 100%. The tour is organized very well and has some amazing locations I wouldnt have found myself. Travelling can be tough at times ironically and when things are tough, G adventures works hard fix any issues (and quickly) to ensure you are sastisfied and enjoying your time. See you next winter!
Negative experience: We had encountered G Adventures groups on a previous tour and it seemed like a great tour company. We were excited to book an upgraded tour of Costa Rica. Sadly, the tour did not live up to expectations and when G Adventures was contacted (by everyone on our group and our CEO) there was no response and no resolution. The contact form on the website indicates that they will respond within one business day. It has now been a full week, with a follow up email sent a couple days ago, and still no response. Two people in our group spoke with representatives on our trip and they were told that everyone on the trip would be contacted, at this point no one has. G says that great customer service is one of their core beliefs, but this is not what we experienced. I would not book with G Adventures again.
Negative experience: They don't pick up and don't get back to you .. very hard to reach a live person as I have been on hold for 2+hours.. not to mention that I am still waiting for my refund since March 2020..... I don't recommend booking from them as they are non-responsive and don't care to give people's money back for a service they did not provide.
Negative experience: My dad has left numerous return calls as well as emails, chat doesn't work. Now I have been online for over 2 hrs waiting to get a LIVE person.
Fantastic experience: Wow what a great experience with Tasia. Wonderful to deal with and went above and beyond! Can't wait to book my next trip.
Negative experience: I feel that I should complain about my (first and LAST!) experience with G Adventures. Robbery at the hotel. The report has been submitted by local CEO.Not a single apology or compensation was given by G Adventures. No one ever contacted me with apologies for the experience and stolen watch , reported by CEO to G Adventures and hotel. I feel that it is hotel fault and G Adventures. We were scared and could NOT sleep in the same room, because locks were broken. The Hotel window lock was broken and opened. No security guard was present on site at any time or anyone at the reception. The thieves just walked in while the whole group was sitting by the pool , 1 minute walk from the room where we got robbed. Also the key for the safe did not match and we could not use it. Overall this is the only hotel on the whole trip , which had security safe. It is not acceptable. Other countries I traveled to had PIN code safe free in every hotel. The worst part is that after my complaint and multiple emails to G Adventures "supervisor" refused to further talk to me on the issue. G Adventures did NOT apologize to me in writing for the experience , lack of acknowledgement of the issue, no compensation and finally very rude and not acceptable answer from "supervisor" Sam Beszelzen , who refused to communicate with me and refused to provide management contact information to escalate (he should be forbidden to do that). The complaint was also submitted to TICO, but it turned out to be useless organization with no help or solution. Stay away from G Adventutes as they do not care about their customers. Attached is the proof screenshot of their last email.
Fantastic experience: We have enjoyed a number of Gadventure tours and love their sustainable approach to travel.
Fantastic experience: I had to cancel my 2 trips with Gadventures because of covid-19 and I was really happy with the service I got. I called and the agent quickly rescheduled one of my two trips for the same time next year and the price I paid this year. For my 2nd trip, sadly they aren't offering it at the same time next year but they offering a similar (but slightly longer and more expensive) tour. They gave me that tour at the price I paid for the original one (which had even been an on sale price). I definitely felt like my business was valued and that they were doing their best to help me go on my dream trip, just later on. Thanks Gadventures!
Positive experience: Tours are great, but the customer service is rubbish. Email them and you either don't get a reply, or you get one weeks later. I live in a country where there is no local phone number, so if I really need to call them, I have to pay long distance.
Fantastic experience: They have a slide..
Positive experience: Had a great experience in Cusco, Peru. Though, it did feel very rushed for the price. The staff were friendly and fun. There seems to be some organizational issues though. I purchased some Alpaca wool souvenirs that were held by staff during our time hiking. At the end of the trip everyone was given their souvenirs back. Somehow mine was lost. Quite an expensive loss.
Fantastic experience: We had the better trip than I could have imagined, Rachelle our CEO made sure every day was the best it could have been. She made adjustments to our that hit everyone wish list..
Fantastic experience: Beautiful office amazing travel company
Fantastic experience: I've traveled with G Adventures twice now and am looking to book a 3rd trip with them. My two trips so far have been absolutely great (Cuba sailing trip and cross Central America trip, now looking at China). I'm a big back packer and traveler myself and have done a ton of solo travel, and GA strikes an amazing balance between that and an organized tour (particularly in areas where language accessibility is tough); they craft amazing trips that enable you to see the best of whatever the region you're in has to offer, taking all the hassle of worrying about logistics out of your vacation... and their business model of giving back to the communities you visit is something I'm very happy to get behind. One of my favorite companies (not even just travel!). Looking forward to the next trip already!
Negative experience: The website is very deceiving. We booked a tour thinking it was on sale (since that was what the website said!) And then it goes 200 dollars cheaper. Called and they claimed that our price was never really a sale and that they would "let marketing know". How unfair! It's our first time ever booking an organized tour, and we are already regretting it. Thought booking with gadventures would save us a headache but I would have preferred just organizing this trip myself.
Negative experience: I booked a tour with G Adventure for Portugal and it was overall the worst. Our guide Daniel was rude and unprofessional. He had mentioned often that he rather not be there. The hotels booked were not acceptable, at one place we had to change our room 3 times cause it was either dirty or something in the room was not working like the toilet. The planning was poor, the quality was unacceptable. I would never recommend G Adventure to anyone and I would never book with them again. I did complain to G Adventure personally and it’s been about 6 months since our trip and I never heard back from them.
Fantastic experience: I've done many tours with them (6 or7), GREAT Company, the guides (CEO: Chief Experience Officer ; interesting title by itself) are very knowledgeable and very friendly and also great story teller. I love the fact that in most groups there are people from all around the world which is a big plus/bonus to learn from their place and culture as well. I also love the way they select their accommodations and restaurants (local and typical of the country we visit). My next trip will again be with G
Fantastic experience: G Adventures offers hundreds of exciting tours at very reasonable prices
Negative experience: Horrendous customer service. I have no confidence booking with this organization. Terrible support
Negative experience: Signed up 7 days Iceland trip. End up it only filled with 2 day activities. Majority are free time with optional activities which you have to pay extra for that. I really think that the trip is overpriced.
Fantastic experience: Staff has great knowledge of the products and is very customer friendly
Positive experience: Cool place
Fantastic experience: Travel company with tours to all seven continents.
Fantastic experience: Nice modern office with classic pacman, Foosball table and Street Fighter 2. Oh, they also sell adventure trips.
Negative experience: No good
Negative experience: Traveled with this company before. Such a shame that customver service is so bad. Had an issue that has been several weeks in the dealing, and what a multi million dollar company offered me was 10% off. I mean that included that 5% as a returning patron. Shame on them. They took no responsibility and acted as if it were my fault and they were doing me a favour. Still no call from senior management, and not even gone on the trip yet. Think twice. All good until there is an issue and you have to go through hoops to get anything done . I am the number one Trip Advisor Reviewer in Toronto. I have been to 50 countries. Buyer beware. I was questioned twice on the legitimacy of my claims. The customer is not always right here.
