Negative experience: Pathetic. Terrible terrible service. I have spent over 4h on the phone to make a correction on my reservation. I made a booking for my family members and I misspelled one of the name so I called right away to fix the issue, the agent told me to ask the person himself to call back and wait another 4h on the phone. What if the person doesn’t speak English or French ? They should’ve atleast give me the option to put the person on the phone or make a 3 way call. Everyone should be really careful and think twice before booking a vacation with air Canada.

Negative experience: Booked a flight + hotel package to Vegas in Nov for $7K. ACV took money, got confirmation. Day before flight, couldn't check in on Aeroplan app. Tried calling AC / ACV, no answer. Day-of still couldn't check in to flight. Again, called ACV / AC, on hold for over 2 hours. Eventually got hung up on. Went to airport early to check-in at counter. Booking was there, but no tickets were issued. Air Canada said ACV is affiliate and they could not help us. ACV not answering the phone even though it was still business hours. Booked additional tickets for $2300 to not miss our flight. We had thousands of $ in shows and reservations that we would lose. Wasted so many hours on hold during our vacation trying to ensure we had flight tickets home (we didn't). Ruined our vacation. Incredibly stressful traveling with a child. Made a post-trip claim, trying to talk to a human. No one response. So they took my money, didn't issue me tickets for our flights, I had to buy extra tickets, and now they won't respond.

Negative experience: Zero stars, never book any vacations from them. I cannot understand how canadian company do such worse job and survive when there is a competition like costco travels, both being a north american company. Booked cruise from them with one time dining, wifi + excursion credit package provided by the cruise themselve in the ticket. But later realized they didnt include one time dining and niether the other things. Talking to their customer service is a nightmare, most rude person i came across in Canada. They must be sued for the work they do, duping customers most of the time. Feel yourself lucky if you got out with no issues while booking vacation with them.

Negative experience: Return flight was canceled and we had to pay our accommodations, hopefully they'll refund me. Total nightmare. Never flying with Air Canada again!

Negative experience: Had issues with check in the evening before the flight. Their office was closed. Thought we could resolve it at the desk at airport. The air Canada rep told us that we had to call air Canada vacations to correct the issue. Their office was closed until after our flight left. Terrible service/ customer service not available when needed. Will never use them again. Expected much more from Air Canada

Negative experience: Before you book with Air Canada Vacations, please read this review. As Super Elite members, we expected excellent service, but our experience has been far from that. Air Canada Vacations changed our trip to Saint Lucia without informing us, and then canceled it three months before departure. When we tried to reach them, we spent hours on hold and were transferred multiple times with no resolution. Our original room choice was no longer available, so they downgraded us to a basic room, but still charged us for an oceanfront view. Despite requesting a refund, they refused. After speaking to a manager, we were promised compensation, but we’ve yet to receive anything. To make matters worse, while waiting on a delayed flight, I called the resort to confirm transportation arrangements, only to be told they didn’t even have our reservation for the holiday at all! At this point, it’s almost comical. Honestly, I think I could run a better travel agency from my basement with my dog.

Negative experience: I would not even give them 1 star. Just the most incompetent service in existence. Worse then air canada itself. Mistake after Mistake. Just ruined our family vacation. My family will never book with either air canada or air canada vacations. Save the headache book with any other air line or vacation services

Positive experience: I have just returned from Portugal, having booked through Air Canada Vacations, and I could not have been more impressed. The package was an incredible price and included flight, accommodation, with breakfast, transportation to and from the airport... and... train fare to the Algarve from Lisbon. The professionalism and congeniality of the individuals whom we encountered, made this trip memorable... save for the final hotel in Lisbon, the Turim Luxe! We were left standing in the street, with our luggage... finally... an unpleasant young woman came, opened the door, identified the hotel, turned her back on us and closed the door in our faces. She stood behind the counter, (visible from the street) laughing. We banged until she let us in. The verbal altercation that ensued was most unpleasant and required us to call the manager to complain. To say, arrogant and unhelpful would be understatements. I would suggest that Air Canada Vacations reexamine this horrific facility that spoiled, for us, an otherwise wonderful experience. I would, most definitely, book another package with Air Canada Vacations ... but avoid the Turim Luxe like COVID!

Negative experience: On hold for over 30 minutes so I can apply an Air Canada Gift Card to our reservation. I got why the wait time was long during Covid… but now? There is no excuse. Also why isn’t AC gift card a choice for payment on ACV website?

Negative experience: Absolute worst, pre-booked seats. Got switched day of travel. Unable to get my refund and unable to speak with anyone directly. Just hangs up when you follow the prompts. Garbage airline, terrible service

Negative experience: *BE ADVISED THIS RATING IS FOR THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED BY AIR CANADA VACATIONS AND NOT A REPLECTION OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THEM* My family and I travel at least 3 times per year using an airplane. We may not be the most traveled but we travel quite frequently in my opinion. Air Canada Vacations is by FAR the WORST customer service oriented vacations planning division we have ever encountered. We still book with them because we are budget conscious and three months later when your trip finally arrives, you forget the countless hours you spent on hold or sleepless nights you spend trying to access their website that is always down when you need it. Lets break it down: 1. Phone calls take FOREVER. We have spent a minimum 2.5 hours PER PHONE CALL We needed to make to Air Canada Vacations. We don't choose this path but are forced to call since we have an infant under the age of 1. This has also resulted in us losing out on a lower price because we could not contact them the same day. 2. Once you get someone on the phone, they cant help you with EVERYTHING. They often need to transfer you to another department to do something that they can't do. 3. Once you get transferred, the phone system doesn't allow you to key in your choices (option 1, option 2 etc.) and instead hangs up the call resulting in another 2.5 hour wait time. (Sometimes they have a call back feature, sometimes they don't. Who knows how that works...) 4. Trying to do anything online other than booking the actual trip is a mess. I feel like Alice in Wonderland spiraling down a rabbit hole of links and websites and transfers that ultimately require me to call back resulting in a vicious cycle. Spark notes: Unless you value a deal much more than a smooth and comfortable transaction process, I would NEVER book another trip with Air Canada vacations. Having said all that.... Air Canada has always been a great choice when flying. Their pilots don't bounce the planes off the ground when they land, they usually offer complimentary wine and beer, they have decent airplane staff and usually treat you quite well. Book your vacation with Air Canada using EXPEDIA or some other vacation booking system and you wont be disappointed.

Positive experience: I booked a very expensive trip with Air Canada Vacations to Portugal. It was a pre made package deal including some tours, hotels and airfare. So, I thought it would be easy and organized but it was the opposite. It was impossible to get any details from ACV prior to the trip. We did not get ANY details for any of our excursions, there was minimal information on the Air Canada Website prior to the trip and even when I received my final documents. I had asked the agent I booked with before the trip for more info. She asked Air Canada Vacations and they said we would get details upon arrival. I only found out which hotels we had a few weeks before our departure When we arrived we received a one page itinerary. No details about drop off times duration of trips, or what sites we would be seeing. What to expect etc... What is included in tours etc Would have been helpful to have this info so we could have planned out free time accordingly. When I came back home I wrote to Air Canada Vacations to complain about this as it made our trip a bit stressful not knowing the details ahead of time. I waited 4 months for a response from ACV and Basically all they did is apologize, make excuses and tried to pass this off. NO Gesture of good will to me who basically spent a great deal of money and was not 100 percent satisfied with their service. I even wrote to the VP and spoke to a customer service manager. All useless For this reason and the fact that the responses from ACV and the customer service rep was totally unacceptable, I will not book any more trips with Air Canada Vacations. So disappointing!

Negative experience: After spending over 2 hours on hold to reach them when I urgently needed to talk to them about my flight the day-of, they transferred me to customer care after they were already closed and hung up my call. The agent could not answer any of my questions before transferring me and didn’t even know customer care was closed. Worst service ever.

Negative experience: Most uncaring and greedy vacation company. Should have known since it's owned by Air Canada. Took a vacation to Punta Cana, 5 star, all upgrades. The day my wife and I are leaving, she has emergency surgery. Obviously, we missed our flight back. Tried to reach Air Canada Vacations takes hours to tell us talk to your local rep. Wait another day to talk to rep at resort that is only available for 1 1/2 hrs a day. Only wanted to rebook our flight. That would be a fat NO!!! Wanted us to purchase 2 tickets back home for more than we paid to get here. Absolute greed. If you like being treated like a number and only used for money, by all means, book with them. If you want to deal with a company that has any compassion, look anywhere else because they don't even know what compassion means. At the time of this review, still in Punca Cana. Thanks Air Canada Vacations!!!!

Negative experience: I booked a vacation for February with AC tried to cancel. The woman told me that I would lose my deposit of 500 when I asked if they can credit me the $500 she rudely said no. When I asked to speak to a supervisor. She hung the phone up and canceled my reservation. Air Canada Just lost another customer.

Negative experience: Do not, I repeat DO NOT USE AIR CANADA VACATIONS!!! Consider yourself warned. We had booked the “Highlights of Italy” tour, landing in Venice, then travelling to Florence and Rome, and returning to Toronto from Rome. Where do I begin?! Let’s start with not receiving our hotel and train vouchers before taking off for an all-inclusive trip. Trying to get a hold of their office was a joke! Fast forward to landing in Italy without any info; wandering the airport in Venice, it’s a miracle that we found our driver, and at least HE knew where to take us! Then once I reached the hotel and finally got through to Air Canada Vacations, they had the audacity to gaslight me in an email and swear they sent the info. I PROMISE you, the vouchers ally forwarded to me, I had NEVER seen them in my life! Fast forward to trying to return to Canada from Rome. Welp! Do you think I could get a hold of my airport shuttle? For several hours I thought I was gonna be stranded in Italy!! No info was provided until 20mins before we were being picked up—ON THE DAY-OF, because they screwed up the contact numbers that were on the info docs. There was so much back-and-forth via email and phone; even the hotel clerks had to get involved before anything got resolved. The kicker for me was when our driver had to pick up another family at a different hotel (who we later found out had ALSO booked through Air Canada Vacations), but they ended up getting a cab, because they had not received any info about their airport shuttle either! I will NEVER book with Air Canada Vacations again—and I’d advise everyone to do the same. They are disorganized, unprofessional, incompetent, and an embarrassment to Canada.

Negative experience: Air Canada Vacations was notified on September 20th of this occurrence and has still not responded to this matter. Regtag indicates that the contract is between Air Canada Vacations and the resort itself. I have attached responses from both Air Canada, Regtag and the resort in which no one has actually followed up with me! Inquiry Type Post-travel - Hotel stay Inquiry Details I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a serious security issue we experienced during our recent stay at the BlueBay Grande Esmeralda Resort from September 12th to September 15th, 2024. Upon our arrival, we were informed that our room was not available, and we spent some time at the pool. Later that evening, while dining at the Jaal’Ha restaurant, my iPhone went missing from our table. Despite our efforts to locate it, including inquiries with the staff and a report to security, we were unable to recover the phone, although it continues to show a location in Mexico via iCloud. The following day, while having lunch at the same restaurant, we experienced another distressing incident. We placed our beach bag, which contained personal belongings and money, on our table. Upon finishing our meal, we discovered that the bag had been taken. My travel companion sought assistance from the restaurant staff and, after expressing our intention to involve security and police, the bag was returned to us. This incident prompted us to file a complaint with the resort's security, as we felt our personal belongings were not secure. Unfortunately, the situation escalated on our final day. While at the main pool, we became disoriented and lost consciousness. Upon regaining awareness, we found ourselves in a distressing situation involving hotel staff and police. We were arrested and detained until 4:30 AM, during which time $500 USD was taken from us under duress. We were released without our belongings, including money, electronics, and personal items. It is evident that we were victims of a coordinated effort to rob us. The treatment we received from the resort’s security and local authorities was alarming and left us feeling unsafe. We believe that the resort's security cameras hold crucial evidence of these events, and we urge Air Canada Vacations/Red Tag to investigate this matter thoroughly. This experience has deeply affected our well-being and sense of security as travelers. We entrusted Air Canada Vacations and Red Tag with our vacation plans, only to endure a traumatic experience that no traveler should have to face. We implore you to take this matter seriously and ensure the safety of future guests at this resort. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. We look forward to your prompt response.

Negative experience: I have been trying to reach these people for 3 hours. There is no one to answer the phone to help you once they have collected your money. There is someone to help you though if you are making a payment. These people don’t value your business don’t give it to them.

Negative experience: We booked a Hawaiian vacation with ACV expecting to stay at the 3 star hotel, as rated by ACV and their reviews. I wouldn’t give this hotel more than one star. It was filled with mold, mildew and cockroaches. We looked at three different rooms and all were in the same disgusting state. There was absolutely no way my husband and I were gonna stay there for 7 days. 30mins after checking in, we checked out. We then walked Waikiki streets at 11pm, after 16hrs of travel, looking for a suitable hotel, which we ended up paying approx CA$3000 out of pocket for 7 days. This vacation was in April 2024 and immediately upon our return, we filled out the required online forms. In span of five months, several useless phone calls and submitting online requests three different times, we still have not heard from ACV.

Negative experience: If I could give them 0 stars I would. I highly do not recommend booking any significant trip through air Canada vacations. My fiancé and I booked a trip to Mexico for Christmas 2023 in November of 2023. We looked at reviews and booked a resort that came recommended from air Canada vacations. We looked forward to our first solo trip away for over a month. I will say the travel day was smooth, the airport was amazing. The problems started once we arrived to the resort. Upon entering the front gates of the resort we were greeted by broken tiles and a horribly maintained resort. Once we actually arrived in our room, it was stained all over the bathroom and shower. There was also mold growing on the ceiling in our bedroom. Unfortunately since we checked in later in the day the reps weren’t on site so we waited and went to go the next day to speak to them. In the meantime, we walked to resort and discovered so many more extremely unattractive things about the resort. There was construction everywhere, things were tarped off, there was water damage everywhere you went. There were no chairs by the pools, and the pool was an extremely long walk away from any rooms (not as described in the description). We then decided to try the buffet… wow I didn’t think it could get any worse. The buffet hall had no AC so all the food was sweating or already soggy. We could barely find enough to eat. We ended up going to the rep the next day- there was already another couple there complaining about the same issues who arrived the same day. We voiced our concerns and the only thing the rep said to us was “ok I’ll contact my manager to get the refund process started”. She never offered to switch our room or to rectify any of our concerns. We booked a flight home- out of pocket on top of the almost 5,000$ we paid for this trip already and flew home the next day. When we contacted air Canada vacations, they said they had no record of us even showing up or checking in… so we would not get a refund as we did a “no show”. After proving and going back and forth with another rep and even sending pictures of all the issues we had, they said unfortunately they are not to be held responsible for any misleading information from the resort. Even though they recommended this resort, they would not be giving us any compensation for any of the issues we had encountered. This also took several months of going back and forth with an unhelpful rep taking weeks and months to reply to my emails. I gave them many chances to fix what they had done before writing this review, hence why it’s been almost a whole year. We are approaching December of 2024 and we have yet to have any communication of value. Basically air Canada vacations doesn’t care about customer service, they just care about taking your money. Please please please do not book through them for any all inclusive packages. Do not end up in the same boat of loosing 5,000$ like we did. Extremely disappointed, they will never be getting any of my money or time again.

Negative experience: Usually good service, trip to Portugal was not good, tours were awful and AC vacations did nothing to help or make the situation better, they simply said it was their supplier's issue? Um...i paid AC vacations? Do not book a Portugal vacation through them

Negative experience: Do not book with them. They are scammers and are only interested in taking your money. Our group booked through ACV and was surprised with all kinds of hidden fees afterwards

Negative experience: NEVER BOOK THROUGH AIR CANADA VACATIONS. If anything goes wrong with your trip, their customer service is absolutely atrocious and disgusting. No sense of compassion or understanding even for medical issues. Please read my scenario below: On August 24, my wife and I were scheduled to depart from Toronto Pearson International Airport for our honeymoon in St. Lucia. However, just minutes before boarding our flight, my wife experienced a severe and unexpected medical emergency that prevented us from traveling. Specifically, my wife began experiencing acute respiratory distress, characterized by hyperventilation, uncontrollable shaking, and a state of panic that rendered her physically and mentally incapable of boarding the aircraft. The Air Canada agents at the gate, recognizing the severity of her condition, strongly advised against her boarding the flight and suggested she required immediate medical attention, potentially including sedation. As a result of this medical emergency: Our luggage was removed from the aircraft. We were directed to contact Air Canada to discuss our options. We were unable to commence our planned honeymoon trip. Immediately following the incident, we attempted to seek medical care from my wife's primary care physician. Our travel package was booked through Air Canada Vacations. Despite multiple attempts to seek assistance or alternative arrangements, including three separate phone calls pleading for compassion and understanding beyond their stated policy, Air Canada Vacations has maintained that they are unable to offer any refund or credit for our apparently non-refundable package. Their only resolution was to instruct us to submit an insurance claim through our travel card and employee insurance. I was also instructed to request a 'post-trip' cancellation letter from AC Vacations, and have yet to receive that - it could take up to 3 months...why? No idea. No explanation given, no sense of urgency, no care shown from AC Vacations "customer service." All in all, Air Canada Vacations has made an unfortunate and sad situation even worse by causing significant emotional distress and financial hardship. I'm appalled and disgusted by their lack of compassion and understanding in this situation. I will never be booking through Air Canada Vacations again...Air Canada will also not be receiving my money in any future travel.

Negative experience: One of the most unprofessional, and inexperienced people working at this company. After trying to book online and getting several errors msgs to call the reservation number, I ended up booking with Expedia, not one agent could help figure out why the website prices didn’t match, or why no option was available to the customer on the website when it’s clearly advertised? 3 clueless agents and a supervisor who would not take a call? I gave up after 3 hours of trying. Don’t waste your time with this company. You’ll get nowhere

Negative experience: Booked a 5 star all inclusive through ACV because I have the aeroplan status credit card. Never ever again. Room was wrong; flight issues, down graded from business class. Have to put through multiple inquiries to get my refund back. Trip was in Feb and I got my money back for the downgrade last few days of July. Air Canada sent the refund to air Canada vacations and they made it so difficult to get back. Also could not get a hold of anyone from customer service while we were having issues on our trip. Never gave us any credit for booking a diamond level room and paying extra for it, but not getting it. I’ve had way better experiences booking on my own and booking through other travel agents who actually go to bat for you and help you. Do not waste your time booking with them.

Negative experience: AirCanadaVacations said we could book three rooms at BahaiPrincipeSianKaan.went on line. Brooked 1. Booked 2. Then prevented from Booking 3 as promo code no longer available. Had to pay extra $700 for third booking. Irony is ACV website still showed discount 24 hours later Rip off.

Negative experience: Ok last vacation of the year booked through AC Vacations. It was another horrible service. Actually I will never use them again. Not only that, I now dislike air Canada. I use to use them primarily so I could collect my Aero miles buts it’s just not worth it. At least when we book through Costco vacation you can guarantee you are getting what you paid and more. AC is not worth it.

Negative experience: Waiting to hear from Air Canada on a sandals south coast vacation du to fly July 9th. Sandals is lying to AC re the conditions at the resort after the hurricane. Many people who are actually there are telling a much different story and yet we the customers are being hung out to dry. No cancelation, no different location is being offered and or no ability to differ till the resort returns to 100%. No power, no water no anything close to what we are all being charged full price for. AC should be doing more to get to the truth. This is the end of sandals and AC vacations for us if this doesn’t get rectified asap. It’s a disgrace how customers get treated in this industry! Final response and compensation was 15,000 sandals points or $150.00 sandals money. A slap in the face really. Will never use trip central, air Canada vacations or sandals ever again.

Positive experience: We just got back from our trip offered by Air Canada Vacations package Best of the Amalfi Coast from June 4 -June 14, 2024. I would highly recommend this tour. We went with our good friends and the 4 of us felt like we were on our own private tour of Italy at time. Seldom were we with a large group of people which was a bonus. All transfers were on time, comfortable and very professional. The hotel Saint John in Rome, Panorama Palace in Sorrento were both good hotels and San Pietro Hotel in Maiori was exceptional. The only hotel that was a huge disappointment was the Eliseo in Rome. The guest rooms are in need of a total overhaul. Modernizing beds, comforters, drapes, wallpaper, lighting, furniture for your guest’s comfort can still allow the hotel to hold on to your the ambiance of an historic hotel. No one wants to sleep in a room that hasn’t been updated in 50 years. I was very impressed with how the tour was laid out and we saw much more of Italy than we thought we were going to see. Rome, Pompei, Sorrento, Capri, Positano, Amalfi town, Maiori, Salerno.

Fantastic experience: Recently booked a family vacation to Jamaica through ACV - and had zero issues. Based on our experience, ACV provided great communication and service. Also - wanted to highlight the AC Vacations rep at our resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica (Danielle). She was professional, efficient, helpful and provided great customer experience overall (not only for our family but for others who were part of our transfer to and from the airport). Well done.

Negative experience: Disappointing Experience at The Hideaway at Royalton & with Air Canada Vacations The Hideaway at Royalton: My recent stay at The Hideaway at Royalton fell short of expectations, to say the least. Despite the beautiful weather and a few standout staff members, the numerous issues we encountered made it hard to enjoy our vacation. From the moment we arrived, it seemed like one thing after another went wrong. Our phone was broken, with messages flashing incessantly throughout our stay. Despite reporting it early on, it was never fixed, leaving us unable to call for room service the entire trip. The list of problems continued: a leaking toilet bowl, a pervasive smell from the water, and a scarcity of towels that made finding one feel like a treasure hunt. Hand soap was missing from most of the bathrooms, and our NFC key entry broke and fell off. Maintenance issues were abundant with closet doors, shower nozzles, and even the pool all experiencing problems. The Ocean Point restaurant was closed, and the pool remained closed until the second last day of our stay. Despite speaking to three different people about our issues, we weren't offered a room change. We overheard another couple complaining about mosquitoes and they were promptly offered a room change. The inconsistency was frustrating. One thing that compounded our disappointment was the lack of acknowledgment for our anniversary. It would have been a nice touch, considering the occasion. Standout Staff: Despite the litany of problems, a few staff members stood out with their exceptional service. Julio at the Evening Buffet, Alfredo at the Pool Bar, Raul at Armadillo, Valeria the Pool Butler, and Fer from the Vibe Team were all incredibly helpful and made our experience a little brighter. Air Canada Vacations: Our experience with Air Canada Vacations wasn't any better. The flight was delayed, but what was even more frustrating was that they changed the plane to a smaller aircraft without much explanation. To make matters worse, there was no food offered on the plane due to a strike, and we were left hungry for the duration of the flight. Adding insult to injury, the Air Canada rep was nowhere to be found on our last day, despite the chaos. We arrived over 3 hours past our scheduled arrival time, and while technically the flight "departed" just under 1 minute before the 3-hour limit, it didn't change the fact that we were significantly delayed. To add to our frustration, we were offered no complimentary food, wifi, or anything to compensate for the delay. To top it all off, both my wife and I got cholera during the trip, which made the experience even more unbearable. In summary, our vacation experience at The Hideaway at Royalton, coupled with the issues we faced with Air Canada Vacations, left much to be desired. Despite the nice weather and a few standout staff members, the numerous problems we encountered made it difficult to enjoy our time. We hope that both The Hideaway at Royalton and Air Canada Vacations take these issues seriously and work to improve the overall experience for future guests.

Negative experience: We booked a 10 day Italy trip end of April 2024, we did not get the details until 3 weeks before the trip, were not allowed to upgrade anything, not even the train tickets were able to be upgraded not even directly with the rail company. The tours were hectic, with poor guides that barely spoke English. The hotels were 3 stars with some I would have assumed 2 stars, and they were far from the center of tourist area in sketchy areas. Included hop on hop off which are a waste of time because of the long lines and wait times. Barely had time to enjoy the places visited and the Amalfi Coast was spent more time in a car then visiting the places.

Negative experience: What a surprise. 2.3 star rating. I should have check this before booking a holiday with air Canada vacations. Never again ! And should I be surprised? Head office is Montreal based. That says it all. They will not formally reach out to you after submitting a formal complaint. They will just reply by email to an email address that you cannot respond to. Saying everything you said is untrue. Terrible !

Oksana Fediv 1 year ago

Negative experience: Please note that if you have any emergency due to medical reasons, AirCanada Vacation will not even try to understand your situation and will ping-pong you to various services/insurances instead of solving your issue. No refund, not even taxes and fees. I will not book a vacation with Air Canada Vacations ever again.

Negative experience: If you are looking for a legit tour website to book vacations and nothing more - then AC Vacations (ACV) will suffice. However if you encounter any issues during or post your vacation than ACV is probably the worst tour operator I have encountered. I have a very high status with AC and have had so for many years. Doesn’t matter. If you have a claim - you cannot connect directly with an agent. Your only means of communication is via a submitted form online. When you do receive a response it is always via a do not reply email. There is no ability to follow up without submitting another form request. Each time I requested a call instead of email. Never received one call. I encountered an issue with the hotel during an ACV booking. The hotel agreed to refund one nights stay. Multiple emails from the hotel requesting ACV to refund me the relative amount. Multiple submissions on my behalf as well attempting to get the refund - 8 weeks later after a dozen emails/calls finally receive a refund that made no sense and was less than half of the correct amount. This was validated within minutes through their (ACV) accounting department. Issue still has not been fully resolved, although ACV did come back a second time and increased the amount. Still not fully correct. This was the simplest of issues, and it still could not be more of a headache dealing with ACV. Their customer service is truly atrocious. I can’t imagine how bad the service would be without my status - or perhaps the status has no impact. Either way I can’t emphasize enough- Do not waste your time with this tour operator - you may have comfort from the AIr Canada name - as I did. But when things go wrong or an issue comes up- they really are about as a bad as it gets for customer service. The simple fact that you cannot speak live with anyone regarding your issue/claim should give an indication how pathetic their service standard and associated processes are for their customers.

Negative experience: Good vacation to Antiqua ruined by lies post a flight cancellation. Our flight AC1833 was cancelled allegedly due to poor landing visibility, although other flights landed. Flight eventually landed but due to flight crew hours, we could not fly out until they had their rest period. Understanding that we would not fly out until the next day we booked a local hotel for $129.00 which included breakfast. We were then informed by numerous Air Canada Vacation representatives in Antiqua that all passengers who booked with A.C.V. vs just Air Canada flights would be compensated. The local A.C. reps even arranged taxi and stay stating that we would have to pay up front but would be compensated once in Canada. A.C.V. now states that there will be no compensation due to weather related issue. We feel infuriated having spent over $600 cda when we could have spent $129 usd + a closer taxi ride or even stayed at the airport as many did. Trust in big for us and A.C.V. has broken that trust. We were warned by friends about A.C. and now are on the list of many who will no longer fly with A.C., it's a shame that this is our national carrier and they choose to treat customers despairingly.

Negative experience: We initially booked a different hotel for our planned location, only to receive an email days later stating that the contract with the hotel had ended. Air Canada Vacations acknowledged their error but offered limited options: either switch to a hotel with a higher price, accept a refund, or choose another location altogether. This left us unfairly burdened with additional costs if opting for a similar hotel or settling for a cheaper one. Despite saving $100 on the original booking, the experience at the alternative hotel did not compensate for Air Canada's mistake. Not only did the "Impressive Hotel in Punta Cana" fail to provide the preferred room we paid for, but we also had to wait until the next day to secure a room, which again had an obstructed view contrary to our booking. Room service was subpar, and attempting to contact the reception proved futile, as calls consistently failed to go through, while room service conveniently ignored phone calls. And on top of that, Air Canada flights are never on time. They are consistently delayed, and the only explanation provided is technical errors, conveniently avoiding compensation to the customer. Our return flight was more than 1.5 hours late, which was unacceptable considering it wasn't cleaned as they used the same plane that brought customers to the location. Overall, while the location was satisfactory, the hotel's failure to honour our booking preferences combined with Air Canada's lack of adequate resolution left us thoroughly dissatisfied with the entire experience.

Negative experience: I wish I read these reviews before I booked with Air Canada Vacations. Our flight to Cancun was cancelled due to operational issues from Air Canada. Even though the email said that an ACV rep would reach out to us, we never heard from them. We waited 8+ hours on hold to finally speak to someone. The rep offered us a date slide for the missed day and a half of our vacation based on hotel availability. We were told this would be a no cost option for us. During our vacation, after us following up with ACV, we heard that the hotel did not accept the date slide without a fee, and we had to pay for the extra day and flight transfer out of pocket and submit it for reimbursement with no guarantee of a refund. Our return flight got delayed over 9 hours. ACV told us we had to take the original 9:30am shuttle to the airport for an 11pm flight (the flight ended up departing at 12:30am the next day). There is no point of booking with ACV, we had to reach out to the airline, hotel, and even had to book a taxi to the airport on our way home by ourselves. I have no idea what ACV actually does, when the customer has to make all accommodations themselves for a cancelled or heavily delayed flight.

Negative experience: I called customer service 48hrs before a trip due to a personal emergency looking for information and help. Karim (wouldn't give last name or supervisors name) has to be the most rude unhelpful ignorant customer service agent I've experience. Fantastic experience: My experience was quite a bit different than others here. Booked a fabulous trip to Bahamas & missed our flight. The agent was amazing & we were on our way the next day. I was in a panic but the agent calmed me & made sure everything was set for the rest of our vacation. I will definitely book again

Fantastic experience: Second time booking a vacation with AC Vacations. Both were seamless and speedy. Their agent (Emma) knew exactly what we wanted and explained everything in detail. Thank you for helping us with this upcoming trip to Vegas.

Negative experience: By far the worst experience. No help in trying to book a new flight that I missed. Got the run around between air Canada and air Canada vacations which are two different companies. Wait times to get a rep on the phone took forever. On top of that, changed my return flight from Cancun which ended up with a change fee that was 100X more on my credit card statement than what was advertised when I checked out. And again contacted the number that was on the confirmation email to dispute the charge and air Canada said they could not do anything and got the lecture to why I would think a flight change be only that amount. Tried calling air Canada vacations and again wait times are ridiculous so I hung up to enjoy the rest of my vacation. Never again. Worst customer service. AVOID BOOKING AT ALL COST. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU IF YOU CAN EVEN GET THROUGH TO THEM.

Negative experience: No, No, No for Air Canada Vacations. Just back from Portugal trip that they organized, poor organization, poor coordination and leave you helpless throughout the trip. Can't seek for help and assistance when you have questions or problems. No one answer the given phone number. The so called 4 stars hotels that they booked for you are shabby. The trains arrangements are lousy. Supposed to be first class, end up sitting in regional lines, then with your heavy luggage running up and down to bus transfer, worst of all the marked seats tickets are useless. I never go with Air Canada Vacations anymore in the future. Moreover, I advise you don't even think to try them.

Negative experience: Worst customer service ever. Their call center should fire everyone. Their reps are extremely rude and argumentative. One rep says one thing the other another. I literally got yelled at by one of their reps and I was shocked how can they talk to their customers like that. Never traveling with Air Canada again.

Vanessa Godfrey 2 years ago

Negative experience: No cruise consultants available by phone. No one answers the phone...They leave you on hold for hours. Only air Canada flights customer service answers the phone line. These AC flight agents say "sorry I only book flights, can't help you with cruises" Then they may give you a number to call. You call the number and you are left on hold forever as no one answers.. pathetic service. Air Canada vacations should stay out of travel agency services, there is ZERO customer service available by phone. I booked AC cruise online, the promo code never worked. I did not get the discount as advertised and now none is available to help me. I used to love AirCanada, WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN!

Negative experience: After being treated horribly, lied to, and then ignored on our vacation in Mexico we tried to go through the proper customer care reporting process. It took multiple attempts to get the report to actually go through without an 'service error' message coming up at the end of it all. We never got the promised confirmation email so again it took multiple phone calls to even confirm that the report was on file. FIVE months later we were offered a 10% refund on JUST the excursion that was delayed by 3 hours, then completely wrong. Wrong location, not what we were promised and received confirmation about just 1 day prior. A half dau not full day, with no food, no drink, no zipline, or snorkeling. They drove us over an hour to a jungle area where we got only 25 minutes of ATVing and then a cave that my youngest was terrified of and did not enter. We would never have picked such an experience. It ruined that entire day of our vacation (and the next) causing stress and disappointment to us and the other family we were travelling with and then Air Canada Vacation has the audacity to offer 10% (basically $70) five months later with no way of speaking to anyone about the situation and refers to it as 'a customer service and goodwill gesture'. My children are still confused and upset by the entire experience. How can any honest company get away with this? I am still trying to speak with someone who has any level of authority with Air Canada Vacations. All I am asking is that we be treated like human beings and not just another number. After spending over $16000 between our two families on this vacation it is ridiculous that Air Canada Vacations cannot do better in rectifying this error and disservice on their part. If they do not step up and do better they have lost valuable customers for the rest of our lives.

Negative experience: Could not be worse! Stay far far away from them. If you actually want to go on vacation do not book with Air Canada Vacations. I had a flight and cruise booked for Oct 1. I called on June 3 to use an Air Canada voucher towards my next deposit. As always when dealing with them, I had to wait 2+ hours to speak with someone. Their agent applied my voucher but at no point informed me that an additional amount was due. The next day my cruise was cancelled. 3 weeks later another agent called to tell me I no longer have a cruise but I could rebook at todays price: $2,000+more! I’m now left with no vacation, no compensation and hatred for Air Canada. Just the worst experience of my life.

Negative experience: Customer Service is the WORST - Do Not Book a flight+cruise package through Air Canada Vacations Booking the trip was easy enough online but trying to call to talk to anyone after that, you'll be waiting hours and then when you finally get through to a person, they'll tell you you've called the wrong department and transfer you. The rep I talked to today was extremely rude and wasn't helpful again at all. Will never book a flight + cruise package ever again through them.

Negative experience: This company is very greedy. A ticket for a friend of mine, who is 77 years old, was accidentally double booked, because of a misunderstanding. Negative experience: Terrible experience with AC vacations 2 weeks ago on trip to Curacao. We wanted to use Air Canada vacations in order to simplify the experience, and have a proven good, easy, no worries vacation. Typical AC Rouge flight experience with you never know what to expect - was terrible on outbound with basically no service in business class, and great service on return. The AC recommended resort (Sunscape Curacao) was below expectations in almost every possible way. Stay away! The food was simply terrible, with buffet and restaurant options that were just plain bad. No reservations needed (except one which was a complicated process) but you needed to line up when they open to try to get a restaurant spot to have mediocre food by 8pm in order to avoid the terrible buffet. The resort ran out of wine one evening. We paid extra for the so called Sun Club, which was supposed to have additional services, premium drink selection, private beach area. No coffee supplied in our room (just wanted bags for the supplied maker, which was broken anyway) despite asking multiple times, had smelly towels delivered most days, leaking sink, no premium drinks, cold showers every day. The resort was in general disrepair. Beach overcrowded with no chairs, no service. Room service as Sun Club feature - couldn't even get through to them, used their special concierge to order instead, then never shows up after 1.5 hrs. The list goes on and on. This AC vacations Hyatt choice ruined Curacao for us. Positioned as a 4star resort, it is anything but. AC vacations should be ashamed. I reached out, but of course no response. At least the weather was good, something AC couldn't get wrong.

Nilla Pavacic 2 years ago

Negative experience: Booked our trip through ACV and have had no support while on our trip and after coming back. The representatives on the resort are just there to upsell you on tours - if you actually have problems they just ignore you until you leave. I sent in a complaint in through their online form, and it's been almost 2 weeks with no reply. Save your time - find a company that actual cares enough to get back to their customers.

Negative experience: We’ve now been on hold for 6.5 hours. Air Canada vacations and Air Canada keep sending us back to the other one because no one knows how to apply a credit that we have to a vacation we’re trying to book. They won’t let us speak to a manager. They’re extremely rude and have zero patience which is ironic because we’re the one’s that have been on the phone for almost 7 hours on a Sunday. It’s been an absolutely horrible experience. I don’t know how they’re still in business.

Fantastic experience: Needed to make a change in my air Canada vacation package. I called right at 8 am when they open and took less than 10 minutes for someone to answer. The lady helping me was great and I was able to make my changes. Call first thing and you don't have to wait.

Negative experience: Recently I booked air Canada vacation, they charged me 2 times to my Mater Card. They messed-up our Family March break vacation. No recommend to any family vacation with air Canada vacation.

Negative experience: I made 2 reservations for cruise and flight to Barbados on December 19, 2022. One booking was for about $1900 and the other for about $2500. I asked to put the bookings on hold for one week as I didn't want to pay for it right away and did want to think about it. Few days later when I checked on them, I was told that one booking has expired and the other one was still good. By then, the prices went up. I didn't want to pay more so I had to compromise and book cheaper guaranteed cabin which did not have assigned number. Now, I'm not asking for any preferential treatment merely two cabins on any same deck in close proximity. Right now my cabin is on the 8th deck and my girlfriend and her son's cabin is on deck3 on opposite side of the ship. My question that how come nobody has even considered to put us a little closer to each other. I called Air Canada Vacations yesterday and was on hold for 5 hours and then more on hold on and off for another 40 minutes or so. They couldn't help with my simple request. Another issue was seats on air Canada flight to the cruise destination. My girlfriend was assigned a seat with her son, as per AC policy I assume without even asking me or her. But my seat is not assigned and I was told that I have to pay if I want to sit along with them. There were some other ridiculous issues along the way while we're talking with AC Vacations Rep. but I don't want to get too deep on the problems. Bottom line is we are party of three people and that's what we get for $4500 of our money. Nobody cares, nobody asks questions or using common sense to accommodate travelers. The vacation is too close to forgo otherwise I would've been insisting on getting my money back and not going. Meanwhile we want some kind of monetary compensation for extreme inconvenience that we're going through. I am providing a screen shot of how much time with AC Vacations I was on the phone at some point.

Positive experience: We had a good experience with our recent Air Canada Vacations all-inclusive booking. The only challenge was trying to talk to someone - I called three times on different days, at different times - waited on hold for an hour, and nothing. (AC Vacations: Hire more people dedicated to responding to communications!) I emailed, and did receive a response 1-2 weeks later. Aside from that, the rest of the experience was great: the pricing was good, and the booking, flight, and bus transfer connection all went smoothly. The Air Canada Vacations rep at our destination was friendly, helpful, and multilingual. We were a little nervous after reading the negative reviews, but we had a good experience, and will use them again for another booking.

Negative experience: Horrible experiences. All flights with air canada were horribly delayed, resort reps are contracted out to other local companies which in turn give zero cares on if you are taken care of. Held us hostage at the airport for half a day and offered us no other transportation options.

Nicole Clark 2 years ago

Negative experience: The deal was great but that was it. On our transfer to our resort the AC rep said the rep for our hotel would call us via WhatsApp the next day and would be on site to book excursions and our transfer back to the airport - biggest lie that could've ever been told. Our rep never showed up, never called. Air Transat and Sunwing were at the resort religiously and told us that they hadn't seen the AC rep in at least a week. We called ACV a couple days before our flight home and they couldn't find our booking ID but found it another way. Told us our transfer back would be around 1300 for our 1525 flight... that's not possible. We finally called back the morning of our flight and were told the transfer would be there at 10am... Get your stuff together... with the price we paid for the vacation, you should be able to provide some representatives at the hotel. We booked our excursions elsewhere as ACV couldn't even provide a rep at the hotel for one day. If I could leave negative stars I would.

Negative experience: - Wouldn't allow name or ticket changes. - Scammed multiple people out of money for excursions - Told us we could reschedule our private bus if our flight got delayed, then refused to reschedule it with plenty of notice when our flight got delayed, leaving us to spend an extra $1000+ for transportation as a group.

Fantastic experience: I spoke to a kind lady named Pia on January 25 at roughly 6pm, and aside from the poor customer service I received from Air Canada(main line/customer service) this experience with with Air Canada vacations was a relief and a breath of fresh air in comparison (thanks to Pia). She was so kind, pleasant, accommodating, understanding and patient. She did everything from beginning to end of the booking process without a hitch, and deserves accreditation. If you see this Pia, thank you! I’m looking forward to the resort more-so now because you had a great experience and recommended it!

Negative experience: The service rep from Air Canada Vacations (Topal at Bahia in Runaway Bay, Jamaica), was never present at the rep desk for all of the 7 days we were there, at any time. We even tried to reach her via watsapp and phone call and she never returned our calls or messages. On the day of our return our flight was delayed by 5 hrs and Topal was no where to be found or reachable for inquiries until the time of bus pick up to tell us the pick up was delayed as well. It was very frustrating to figure out what's happening and not having the rep available to help. Air Canada gave us $17 meal voucher for 6 hrs of delay, not fair compensation to 6hrs delay. Will not be booking with Air Canada Vacations in the future.

Negative experience: This is specific to their call centre. One star is generous. They don’t answer their phones. We have tried calling for 3 days. Currently, I’ve been on hold over an hour. This is for an existing reservation. What a joke. Air Canada needs to rethink their model if they can’t even do the basics right, like answer a call.

Negative experience: We booked a trip with Air Canada Vacations to Antigua which included a one week stay at an all inclusive resort. We are pretty easy going travelers but not long before we left, we started to read horrible reviews from several sites regarding our resort. Our travel agent couldn’t get updates from Air Canada Vacations as to what was happening at the resort until two days before we were to leave. At this point we were told it was too late to cancel. The resort is definitely not what we expected and we feel ACV is not doing their job. They don’t seem to be keeping up to date with what is happening at resorts. We would have trouble recommending Air Canada Vacations.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service, they don't let you book with points when you have an infant ,and then when you finally get them on the phone line they make you buy air Canada gift cards separately with points and then call them back to rebook (eventhough air Canada owns Aeroplan and air Canada vacations). There are no reps in the hotels when you travel, and no one picks up the phones locally, so if you have an issue you are on your own. They give you no details about the private transfers, eventhough you pay extra for it. Overall, this is my second experience with them and it was not a fluke that they were terrible the first time. Never booking with them again .

Negative experience: Worst customer service experience I have ever had. It took me 6 hours to get connected about cancelling my trip. They also have one of the worst cancellation and re-booking policies I have ever seen. They are effectively taking advantage of customers post-pandemic. Sunwing and Air Transat both offer the option of changing your vacation for a fee. Not Air Canada. We tested positive for COVID 2 days before our flight. You have to beg and plead with them on the phone for hours to get them to cancel or change the booking, or else we lose $4,000. It's amazing how customer service reps are completely non-sympathetic about losing $4,000. What the heck is wrong with these people? How can you not have a system in place for people who will get COVID right after a pandemic. The only option is to lose $4,000? while other vacation packages continue their cancellation policies. Completely non-competitive this airline strangle holding and cutting out smaller competitor airlines from emerging. Their policies are effectively saying if you have COVID and no insurance, please take the flight. I will never ever use ACV again. People save your money and use Sunwing.

We were advised by the rep to arrange our own transfers and apply to ACV for a refund. Upon applying, ACV advised to go through our insurance. What is interesting, is when we were to be picked up for our departure, a. the driver arrived early waited approx 5 minutes for another couple then left and b. as ACV did not give a voucher for the pickup, the driver took a photo of our passport which left us uncomfortable.

Negative experience: We booked a cruise so that the cruise and air flight were with the same company.. hopefully reducing chance of issues! We had to cancel with a member of our party getting COVID during the later part of COVID. We were told no problem .. we could cancel , get our credit and rebook…LOLOLOL Brutal.. workers TRIED their best but there are clearly not enough of them . Average on hold times were 4-6 hours…The accounting department seem to be the only people that can make refunds happen and or credits.. we waited for almost 8 months to get our full credit! HINT: if you are trying to rebook a cruise with Royal.. call RCL tell them you have an Air Canada Vacations credit for cruise and they will call on your behalf to expedite the issuing of Future Travel credit.. FLIGHT PORTION: Call at 9AM and keep pressing until you get accounting .. and grab 2 bottles of wine and wait.. shout out to Jasmine… the only accounting person that could get anything done albeit 7 months later! NEVER AGAIN! Back to Sunwing.. fast call centre and easiest cancellation.. just pay for the Sunwing insurance .. worth it.. people on phone a little rude sometimes but at least they get it done fast!
