Negative experience: My 89 year old father is a client of CAA and had a squirrel chew through the wires of his car. According to CAA, the car is unfortunately a write off. The worst part of this process has been his claims adjuster. From the beginning, Andrew Tanner has continuously repeatedly ignored the calls and emails from my father, reinforcing how insurance companies love giving customers the run around. I got involved, given how my dad is elderly and became frazzled. Andrew Tanner did actually call me back that one time, saying I am not authorized to speak on my father's behalf. So, I called CAA's number and after an hour trying to get in touch with a live person on CAA, my dad and I spoke with someone to get me authorized to speak on his behalf. My dad has since sent in the forms to settle the claim. Crickets over at CAA. Quite honestly, what a complete and utterly disrespectful way to treat clients, especially an elderly one. Shame on you.

Negative experience: I made an appt to see Helene to help me book a trip to Asia and when I got there she was seemed very frantic, being very rude and curt with me before I could even sit down and talk to her as she was still with her previous client. She said she couldn’t help me book anything as I already had my flights booked and she would only help me if it was with everything, including flights. I don’t travel often so I wanted to sit down with someone to figure out other bookings (hotels, tours, etc). She seemed annoyed I already had the flights taken care of even though I mentioned to the person on the phone I already had them booked. She offered me a phone number to call. She seemed to not want anything to do with me and wanted to rush me out. All this as she still has her other client sitting at her desk. Considering cancelling my CAA membership as aiding in travel plans was the reason I got it in the first place. Very disappointed.

Negative experience: Called for tow flat bed . I’ve usually had good experiences with tow drivers but guy I had real jerk . Been a premier member long time and shouldn’t have to jump thru hoops to get a simple tow . Likely won’t renew

Fantastic experience: My family went to get our Irish passport photos taken here today, and Dominique was very friendly and helpful with the process. She had great customer service and retook photos to make sure they would be approved.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here recently. Due to an address change my CAA card got mixed up. Brittany did an amazing job of figuring everything out for me. She went beyond the call of duty, as did Margaret in Member Relations. I was also able to get my international driver’s permit as well. Thank you again.

Positive experience: Went there to book a trip, and the payments got goofed up (mistakenly charged double the deposit) and didn't want to update the receipt to reflect until final payment was made.... once the final payments were made, caused high anxiety by calling and saying they couldn't confirm with the airline receipt of payment even though the money clearly was withdrawn from the account(but one showed the airline and the other CAA so who knows what happened there) regardless after the initial call causing us panick, took over a week to finally ensure it was all sorted snd good to go with little to no communication during that time... for me was a one and down going through here to book a trip in future.

Negative experience: I joined auto club to get cheaper air flights. They told me they could get discount prices. They cannot. My first appt. the travel agent was angry with me and accused me of being half hour late. I went home and found my appt. print out...I was on time. She refused to give me an information sheet on the guidelines of what you can bring to an airport. Second appt. ,she called me and talked like she was yelling at me...was very course, abrasive. I got yelled at if I asked a question. Never had worse CS treatment in my life.

Fantastic experience: Went to this location for a membership CAA card. Staff was very helpful, got great automobile insurance. Zeal the agent was amazing answered all my questions and got me a very good price and quote. Very happy with the service!

Negative experience: Though I'm a CAA member, I don't recommend using their roadside battery replacement service. CAA sort of rushed me into a battery replacement that didn't fix the underlying problem, a battery drain. The battery for which I paid CAA $250 needed to be replaced two-weeks later, and there needed to be an assessment of what was draining the battery and destroying its capacity / health. The battery drain was something simple and obvious. I don't completely trust CAA's battery health assessment. I wonder if we'd given the car a boost and found the battery drain right away, if the battery would still be viable.

Fantastic experience: This review is to the entire CAA Team in Hamilton. Situation where we needed to have our vehicle towed to the Honda dealership. Paul arrived with his flatbed to load up the vehicle. Arrived in a very timely fashion and was very helpful. Paul was very professional and made the experience much better than it was. Fantastic experience: My muffler fell off on the north side of the Burlington Skyway bridge on the weekend and I was able to drive to a local Esso on Lakeshore in Burlington. CAA driver Muhammad haji Shair from CAA Hamilton arrived within 30 min and had my car up on the tow in no time. He was awesome, very kind and polite explaining everything he was doing. He then drove me back to Canadian Tire in Welland, which was in the opposite direction for him and a 60 minute drive each way for him. I really appreciate that he took the call despite the distance, and his professionalism and friendly attitude. Thank you CAA and Muhammad for a safe and quick solution to my problem!!!

Fantastic experience: Staff were great in helping me get my passport photo taken! I was able to have my photo taken in my wheelchair. The entrance is wheelchair accessible and the aisles are wide.

Fantastic experience: The travel office tries to help us the best they can being abroad and canceled flights, recommend, if possible go to the airline office locally. Thank you to Andrea in Hamilton mountain office for her efforts!!! We were the canceled fights with Copa, be prepared to wait in line for hours, but totally worth it!!!

Fantastic experience: Joseph the terrific rescue driver was able to give a boost to our van which we were able then to drive it home. Originally we thought it was the starter. Positive experience: The parking lot was very busy. There was a lineup to get service. Once I got parked and to the front of the line, the service was fast and efficient. I miss the location in the west end of Hamilton. It was all-round more convenient for me.

Negative experience: The brokers are ok it's the claims department. Took one week of me calling daily to speak with an adjuster. Another two weeks after that to be assigned to total loss adjuster. 3 weeks have passed and I've heard from no one after leaving countless messages. I'm stuck in the country without a car to use thanks to them

Negative experience: We had an appointment to book a trip, money and passports in hand...travel agent was extremely rude and condescending. Kept pushing cuba on us and when we said we did not want to go to cuba she literally said we were too poor to go anywhere else...didn't even ask how much we were willing to spend, just took one look at us and said low class...we just got up and left, will spend my thousands somewhere else and I encourage everyone else to do so

Negative experience: Horrible experience. The lady sitting on the last desk was way way rude. She misbehaved with us like anything. She is racist. Will never ever recommend any one to visit this place in their life. Negative experience: Paid for a gold membership, called CAA after going in a ditch, hitting the low spot and popping back out the other side. They basically told me they can't help me. Apparently if I'm stuck, their tow trucks would get stuck too. I'm hurt and they did nothing for me. What's the point of having a membership? *writing this from the ditch with a bloody nose and sore face*

Negative experience: My wife and I went for travel assistance. She sent us via email 11 potential spots that met our criteria. We left and have been unable to reach her by phone or email no return call. Its been over 3 weeks. We have since booked with trip central. We r CAA members

Negative experience: No follow through. We had booked an appointment and had the whole family show up to arrange our march break holiday for 11 people with Helene. We spent an more than an hour discussing different options with her. She was in a big rush to leave the store and had her coat on and left before any us. Before she rushed off she told us that she would email us all the options we had discussed with more information. We waited days and despite expressing the urgency of booking the holiday, no email showed up to the multiple people in our group that provided email addresses. Junk mail was also checked. Only after sending an email prompting a response did she send only one of the multiple options we discussed with no further important information. We decided to book our vacation quickly and easily with another travel agency. Won’t be going back to CAA travel.
Negative experience: The travel agent was always busy, said we need to make an appt. We leave for our vacation one week from today and no one has contacted us to pick up our tickets. When I called and spoke to her she said she was busy and would call back. No one has called, finally someone else called back and booked us in just to get our tickets. If they are that busy you need to hire. I don't like the way this went.

Negative experience: I went there to get passport photos done and the customer service rep I had was absolutely awful. First, I said “hello I would like to get the free passport photos done” and she rudely interrupted me and said “well no they won’t be free do you even have a membership with us??” And I said “yes I do” and showed her my card..: she swiped in angrily and said “ok fine: also this passport picture is for you correct?” I said oh, no it’s for my daughter..:. And she snapped at me saying “absolutely not this is for the cardholder only” I said “oh okay I wasn’t aware of that.. I’ll just pay the cost then” and she’s like “ okay it’s $10.11 and I need that before I take the photo” so I paid… then my daughter who is already shy stood in front of her and she said to my daughter “move all that hair out of your face” so my daughter put her hair behind her ears and she said “oh that did absolutely nothing”…: treating my daughter like a reject. She snapped a photo.. didn’t even show us… and said here u go… and put it in a crumpled up envelope! I will never go back to CAA hamilton again..: I’m sure if it was a retired person with money going on their various trips they would never be treated with the lack of respect I was given.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. Have upgraded membership with my daughter on it, nice day 20 degrees out and she got a flat and was stranded on the side of the road with her dog in the car. Called and they said they would be there is 20-30 minutes, called back when they didn't arrive, they said an hour later they would be there, then when they didn't show up during that hour, called again and said they would be there in another hour.... on the side on the highway.. stranded. Then when I called they said 'oh sorry its just a nice day, and we are busy lots of people getting out into the nice weather.... well that's great I dread to see what happens when winter comes.. complete waste of money for upgraded membership and I think any membership...CAA really needs some good competition to improve their services.. 3 hours for a flat.... awful service...
Negative experience: Helping my senior father for his bookings. For booking and paying...all easy. If you need to cancel or make changes...it's the worst place to do business. I've been waiting for a return email or phone call for 2 months. Had to drive there from Guelph to get the cancellation done. We DO NOT recommend doing business with the travel side of this store.

Positive experience: They're very quick to see if you need help. But there's hardly anybody there to help you and you actually need it. They're always all busy so it's best to make an appointment

Fantastic experience: I Have Been a Member since 1992. Great service when Your Car or Truck Breaks Down. The Membership price is Worth even if You only get 1 Tow. It's Piece of Mind for all Your Roadside Assistance. Perfect example. Just Had CAA cone and Tow my Truck out of the Underground Parking lot. What a great Person that was Doing the Service. We Got it out within in a Hour as We had to Tow it from the Back with a chain to get it out from the Underground 2 floors Down . He was polite and very knowledgeable about what He Does. . Don't Hesitate get Your Membership it's worth it.

Positive experience: The staff are mostly friendly and knowledgeable. I first booked a travel appointment as I wasn't sure if I was going to make a pitstop on my way back from visiting Croatia. I ended up booking my flights on my own so the travel agent Nancy still assisted me with my travel insurance even though she seemed a little annoyed. You don't need a travel appointment to get your travel insurance you can just purchase it through member services. Well personally I like to ask questions and make sure I'm 100% aware of what's covered. So Nancy still helped me with that but like I said she was a bit annoyed and had a slight attitude but I just ignored it and she did help me and answer all my questions. My only big issue is that there isn't enough people working there for the volume of customers at that location. Also the call center leaves you on hold for ever! I called 2 different times and was on hold for over 30 minutes and had to hang up because I couldn't wait any longer. But back to the store it's the only location in the Hamilton area so they should have more staff on hand to assist because the store was really busy and I stopped in on Tuesday at 12:30 PM. By the time I was finished with my few questions with Nancy and then purchasing my insurance at member services I was at the store for an hour. When I got into the line for member services there was 3 people ahead of me I believe that day and there was only 2 agents working on that side handling all member services which includes passport photos as well. Hire more staff Update: So I had someone from the office reply to my review and say to email them with more information. I reached out the very next day and that was a couple weeks ago now and still haven't heard back from them so what was the point in asking for more info on my experience? I also noticed that you have deleted your response as well from my review why would that be? I don't know what's going on with your office there but like I said in my review initially you guys really need to get your staff in order and get more service for your customers. Us as members of CAA pay significant fees every year to be a part of this membership and you should be providing better service for your customers.
