Fantastic experience: The Peru tour by Approach Tours was fantastic! Approach Tours put a lot of thought into this trip, finding wonderful places to stay at, having delicious meals prepared and served to us 3 times a day ..... every day! Local guides, as well as our incredible Guru Rasha Salem, took us to places one could never do on their own, we always felt safe and well looked after by excellent bus drivers, the guides, and Rasha. We met new friends as the group formed into one big family sharing many laughs, challenges, and new experiences as we traveled the beautiful landscapes that Peru offers.

Fantastic experience: Our 21 day trip to Vietnam & Cambodia was an excellent trip. We travelled from North Vietnam (Hanoi) to the South (Ho Chi Ming City) and the Mekong delta and then onto Ankor Waht and Siem Reap. The trip was action packed and we saw a lot beautiful places in our travels. The food was excellent as was the accommodation. We loved Viet Nam and its people. Approach tours did another excellent job packaging a trip that gave us a well round feel for the lovely country of Viet Nam . Fantastic experience: Just home a week ago from our trip to Peru with Approach Tours. It was everything promised and more! We saw and did so much in two weeks, I can’t really say what was my favourite part. Our group was super compatible and easy going. Rasha, our group guru, deserves all the kudos for keeping things going smoothly - with grace and her huge smile! Every detail was looked after - transfers, hotels, airline tickets, meals, tours. Our only suggestion is that we would have liked a bit more time to explore and wander on our own. When I discovered Approach Tours on line, I thought the reviews could hardly be true, but since travelling with them I would highly recommend their tours.

Positive experience: We are just back from Peru and our first trip with Approach Tours. Overall it was a fabulous trip- Peru is a fascinating and diverse country. We had a packed itinerary which took us all over and to areas we never would have seen on our own. The beauty of an organized tour! The hotels we stayed in were excellent, as were most of the meals- we would have appreciated at least 2 options with dinner, however. Transportation was very comfortable with extremely skilled drivers on the challenging Peruvian roads. As for our Guru- Rasha was absolutely superb. She is such a genuine and lovely person to be around, and took care of all situations that arose with grace and compassion. She is extremely well organized and attended to the thousands of details involved in herding a group of 25. Thank you Rasha! Our local guides, especially Alvaro and Manuel, were great- very knowledgeable and eager to share an honest perspective of their country. I will say we found the itinerary a bit gruelling and would have appreciated a bit more built in free time. The altitude also was challenging for many of us, and I would recommend that Approach clearly articulate the risks that altitude can pose- in their promotional materials. We will certainly recommend Approach Tours.

Positive experience: Local guides were amazing - really brought their knowledge and experiences to us. Group Guru worked exceptionally hard - thank you, Rasha! Food was often poor (although lunches tended to be great). Schedule was overly demanding (tour bus leaving at 6 or 630 most days...after late dinners the evening before). The physical demands of the trip were understated in advance - lots of uneven/high stairs at altitude. Loved Peru and plan to go back independently.

Positive experience: 4.5* As advertised! Everything was included. Transportation, tours, meals, tips, etc. Our guru Rasha, was 5*+++. As a traveller, any issues that may have arisen were seamless. Rasha micro managed the minutiae behind the scenes. The hotels were well located and well appointed. The couple of hotels that were more secluded, well, getting there was all part of the adventure. And the tour guides! Alvaro and Manuel specifically….you could feel their passion for Peru. So knowledgeable, well spoken,, funny and friendly. There is so much to see and do to really appreciate Peru. My rating of 4.5 * and not 5* is because the pace of ‘getting it all in’ was at times a bit overwhelming; the meals, although plentiful and delicious became somewhat repetitive; and the trekking to some sights at the high altitudes were beyond what most in the group could manage. Group size of 25 was ideal. We had a lot of fun together. Helped each other out as needed, and we laughed a lot! I would absolutely recommend travelling with Approach Tours and if can, go with Rasha. No point in including pictures of the scenery. You’ve see them on the web and frankly seeing it yourself beats any pictures. So I share a few fun moments of our adventure.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from Peru and my first trip with Approach Tours. When they say all inclusive, they deliver. Hotels were wonderful, great food, comfortable transportation and our Guru who accompanied the tour was an absolute gem. Rasha attended to the needs of everyone with grace and compassion and never lost her smile. Thank you for making my bucket list trip so wonderful.

Positive experience: Recently returned from South Africa tour. South Africa was a “trip of a lifetime”. Disappointed that the “Guru” appointed for this trip had never been to South Africa before - he did his best but with no prior experience so wasn’t a “go to” person. The food was mediocre and full meals at lunch time not necessary, no “light lunch” alternative. Too many buffets. No welcome or farewell reception. Be prepared for 12 hour + days - there is no “down time”, not even an hour before evening meal. The accommodation was fairly good. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, but not flexible. Cape Town coach was “luxury”, Durban and Victoria Falls not so much. Guides should have a policy for seating on bus. We had a very good group on the coach and did enjoy the trip. However, it needs some tweaking. It would be beneficial to have a more detailed itinerary. The Safari guides were exceptional. Saw all of the “big five” many times.

Fantastic experience: Just returned home from our South Africa and Victoria Falls tour. From the home pick up to home drop off and everything in between it was absolutely amazing!! Far exceeded any expectations I might have had. Guru Connie and local guide Jacob took very good care of us all. Our fellow travellers were so much fun and I was so sad to say goodbye to them. Will definitely look at another trip with Approach in the future.

Negative experience: My wife and I recently finished the Colours of Morocco tour with Approach Tours.. In all honesty we cannot recommend this tour. Our guru Tracy was terrific as well as our guide Tariq but the local guides were sub par . One even got lost not once but twice. As we were a small group 31 in all, we expected having good meals in different venues that celebrated Moroccan cuisine. Unfortunately, we were lumped in with every other tour group resulting in meals that we far overcooked ,dry etc.and it was the same every day. I think we had 5 good meals on the trip.Hotels (with the exception of 2) were highly overrated by Approach. We would classify them as 2 to 3.Definitely not the 4 that Approach listed in their advertisements. This was our first trip with Approach and it will be our last. BUYER BEWARE.

Fantastic experience: My sister and I had the immense pleasure to experience South Africa September 2024 with Approach Tours. First time travelling with an all inclusive tour company and folks, Approach Tours did not disappoint. It was so relaxing to have our days filled with amazing sites, terrific meals, lovely scenery, great lodging and an abundance of safaris. Kamille, our guru, and country guides, Deon and Douglas were outstanding. We returned with over 500 photos to scrapbook to share our amazing adventure with family and friends. We have fond memories of good times with all our fellow travellers. Put South Africa with Approach Tours on your bucket list as it was a trip of a lifetime!

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from South Africa & Victoria Falls. It was an amazing trip definitely a life time experience. Seeing the big five up close in their natural environment is fascinating. Victoria Falls are breathtaking. It's a very busy tour but we wanted to see as much as possible & Approach Tours did that for us. Our Guru Annette was amazing, she is upbeat and positive. She had a number of difficult issues to deal with but still had a cheerful attitude for our group, which was very uplifting. Our local guides were also very good. The history of the area & so much information about the animals...very interesting.

Fantastic experience: We returned from our South African tour a few days ago. If you have ever considered this tour, you need to do it! When they say all inclusive, that is exactly what it was from the moment we left. It is so hard to describe all of the incredible adventures we encountered, including land/river safaris, cultural experiences, world renowned landmarks and more. Our guru Annette was so much fun and she went above and beyond. We were so lucky to have her and our local guide Warwick to make this tour so amazing. We will definitely be looking into more tours from Approach in the future!

Fantastic experience: South Africa was amazing. The food was great selection of local cuisine. We're never left hungry, but you can gain a few pounds. Approach Tours and our Guru Annette handled all problems be for we were aware. Our Guru Annette was with us for the whole trip. She's an amazing person who engaged with me everyone on the tour (25).

Fantastic experience: I just returned from the tour to Portugal with Approach Tours in September. The tour was wonderful, encompassing all the charm and beauty that is this beautiful country. This was my third solo tour, and all have been fabulous. The quality of the hotels and food were excellent, the guides and gurus first-rate. Our guru Natalia and Portugal guide Idalia were amazing and delightful. Thanks Approach for another great holiday experience. Have booked Croatia for 2025

Fantastic experience: I just returned from the South Africa/Victoria Falls tour. It was fantastic! Everything promised was delivered plus several unmentioned perks. Our guru, Craig, ensured that everyone was always well informed, solved problems before they happened and managed a few challenges along the way like a pro. The accommodations and food chosen were very good. The excursions and guides, especially the South African guide, Rich, were superb. This trip delivered on everything in the itinerary except maybe not quite as much walking as anticipated.

Negative experience: We booked the African Safari tour May 2023 for Sept 18/24. We expected a 4⭐️trip. Another tour was added to this date and because of them, we often felt like we were getting leftovers. We had 7 different accommodations that ranged from a 2⭐️to may be a 4⭐️but this room was without AC. We even had one room where one side of the bed was against the wall so one person had to crawl into bed. (Hotel Sky in Cape Town) This place also had a closet for shirts and tops only with 4 hangars. No fridge. The sink had the tap in the corner so nearly impossible to wash your hands. We stayed there 5 nights. Our coach was older and not that comfortable for the long trips that we went on. The other Approach Tour that travelled the same time had a much better coach. The food at the hotel restaurants were mainly buffets. No Gluten Free options. We did have some meals that were better off site but the choices were basically the same every day…chicken, a beef stew, squash and potatoes. The same chocolate cake with custard for dessert many times and of course ice cream. The itinerary was amazing but it was rush rush rush with little down time. The safaris were amazing and the guides were so knowledgeable. We did see the Big 5. The early morning safaris were usually a bust until about halfway through the 3 hours. The afternoon safaris were much better for animal seeing. I would advise to book your own flights. The layover coming back from Johannesburg to Toronto was 7 hours long. We figured our travel time homeward bound was running into double digits. They booked KLM and the food was not that great but complimentary sodas, water, juices, wine, and beer. There were some neat things included such as a back pack with some travel items. The limousine service to and from the airport was a nice touch. But I do not recommend Approach Tours. My husband does.

Fantastic experience: Just completed the 14 days - tour of Ireland. WOW! WOW! WOW! This is the best trip to visit all of landscape, culture, and food that Irela d can offer. It went beyond my expectations. So much history. Hotels were amazing and top rated; and food…well you were never left hungry from breakfast to dinner. Thank you Approach for taking care of us with the Canadian Guru, the Ireland guide, and a top notch driver.

Negative experience: Went on a tour with them and they were fabulous so we booked a second tour. Then we received a call that my partner was going to have surgery so we wanted to postpone the trip. We have contacted them 13 times with no response. They are great until you need help.

Fantastic experience: 2024 South Africa, it was great met some new friends, food was good, accommodations were good with one exception but corrected vvery uickly. Colene was great and knowledgeable Victoria was a great help and funny tks for a wonderful experience.

Positive experience: We just returned from our first group tour experience, which was the 16 day Signature Italy Tour with Approach Tours. Overall it was a wonderful experience, for many reasons: ▪︎ one payment covered our airfare, travel, accommodations and 3 meals per day. ▪︎ we zigzagged from northern Italy to southern Italy and were able to see all of the major attractions. ▪︎ there was no way that we could have figured the trip out on our own - where to stay, which restaurants to eat at, how to obtain tickets to the attractions, how to hire a tour guide, how to arrange for transportation (buses, boats, trains), etc. ▪︎ we had a wonderful group guru - Annette Trudelle - who was with us from the start in Toronto, to our return to Toronto. She swiftly dealt with any issues that arose, and always with a smile. ▪︎ we had a wonderful Italian organizer - Francesca - who arranged everything and also went above and beyond to handle a couple of health issues that arose. Not only did we see everything that was promoted in the trip details, but she also arranged for other excursions that weren't included. ▪︎ Francesca also arranged for local tour guides each day, who were entertaining and had a wealth of knowledge. ▪︎ we had time for shopping at each destination so it was no problem to achieve our allowable limit before returning to Canada! ▪︎ aside from the major attractions, it was great to go to the parmesan factory to learn how the cheese is made and to sample their products; to visit an olive orchard and learn about the process of harvesting olives, and sampling their products; to visit a mozzarella farm and have the best caprese salad ever; to visit a 7th generation winery and taste 8 wines. ▪︎ we ended up with a wonderful group of people from BC, Saskatchewan, Ontario and New Brunswick, and many great friendships were created. ▪︎ we used a group WhatsApp page, which enabled everyone to share their photos so that we all have copies of all of our memories without missing anything (some people even stopped taking taking pictures on their own). This page will stay open, and we've been able to continue to stay in touch with the other people in our group. There were a few areas which could could have been better: ▪︎ the pace of the trip is quite busy, with days starting around 8 am and ending around 5 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm. Perhaps scheduling a quiet afternoon every couple of days would help people to relax and recover. ▪︎ locating hotels within vibrant neighborhoods so that you could go out in the evening and explore the area. In some we felt isolated, but that was likely due to their proximity to the attractions to be seen in that area. ▪︎ the hotel quality was less than expected from the hotel websites - we felt that the first hotel was a 4*, and the rest were 3*. ▪︎ all dinners except for the farewell dinner were held at the hotels. That made it easier to gather, but it would have been nice to go out to a local restaurant maybe 4 or 5 times. Dave & Janice Sinclair

Fantastic experience: Trip to South Africa and Victoria Falls has always been our dream and going with Approach Tour this September was the best trip we had made in our life. Everything was so well organized from the time we booked to the time the limo dropped us home. Nothing needed our attention or planning. Our Guru Rasha Salem is so caring and brought so much joy and laughter throughout the trip. We had the best national guide Raymond Rich who took care of everything from the time we wake up to when we sleep. He kept us informed of what is ahead and adjust the schedule so we would not miss a must see spot due to weather. Would recommend Approach to one looking to be jn South Africa.

Positive experience: Attended the Portugal tour in Sep and had a wonderful time. Would have been a 5 star but unfortunately a number of us contracted COVID at end of tour and when back home, which I believe could have been minimized by further segregation from the original infected tour from Quebec and mandatory use of masks by our group. Unfortunately that didn't happen. The tour itself was marvellous. Our guru Aimee was an absolute pleasure, as was our national guide Marta...just a wealth of info. Our bus driver Mr. Joao was a good as it gets. Great group of Canadian retirees (mostly ) to travel with. The hotels were good and meals very good. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour and the Approach on-ground team to anyone. Obrigado

Fantastic experience: Our approach tour experience to Portugal was wonderful! Our group guru Aimee, and our local guide Marta as well as our bus driver were extraordinary! They all went above and beyond what we expected in terms of service, passion for their jobs and meeting the needs of all of the people on the tour. We saw so many aspects of Portugal and so many areas that I do feel that I came away with a true understanding of what Portugal is all about! Aimee was always thinking of ways to make our experience better and then implemented her ideas to our utter enjoyment!! Marta’s sense of humour and her vast knowledge about everything gave us many chuckles and many things to think about. Our bus driver was in full control of the vehicle at all times, and we never felt unsafe, even when we were going along hairpin turns on top of a mountain! Approach tours did a fabulous job of giving us many opportunities to see what Portugal is all about but it was Aimee, Martha, and our bus driver (who I apologize I have forgotten his name) who made this trip so memorable! 10/10!

Fantastic experience: I've traveled solo before with other tour agencies and have to say Approach is certainly at the top. I particularly liked that we not only had local tour guides (Deon) being one of the best in the industry but we had Kamilla as our tour guru throughout which she made sure all of us were taken care of no matter what was the circumstances. Accommodations, food & flights were what was to be expected - but what I was there too see was Africa and they certainly delivered that. The Itinerary is a busy one. The safari's most certainly got you close up sometimes only 15 ft. away from the animals. It is truly a trip of a lifetime & I'm blessed I shared it with the folks I did.

Fantastic experience: When we first signed up for the Ireland tour we were impressed by the reviews, the tour schedule and all that was promised. We were excited, but a bit skeptical. Boy, did they ever deliver what was promised and then some! Both the tour guru Morgan and the national tour guide Ray made the trip super informative, fun, and worry-free. There were unexpected extras coming our way sporadically throughout the tour, such as free Irish coffee, ice cream or other treats. The scenic places we visited, the culture we experienced, and the people we met were just spectacular. Besides the incredible landscape and the rich history of Ireland we particularly fell in love with Dublin and Donegal, both exuding Irish charm in their own special ways. If you are looking for an immersive, worry-free, and all-inclusive introduction to the Emerald Isle, this tour by Approach Tours is for you! Our next trip will be to Italy with Approach Tours.

Fantastic experience: Most amazing tour of Ireland with Approach Tours. Everything was completely taken care of . All we had to do was show up. We had an the modt thoughtful and caring Guru named Morgan .if anyone needed anything at all she was there. She also was very kind and through in some extras thst we awere not expecting on this trip. Best National guide ever named Ray and are experienced bus driver Eddie. He did some extrodinary driving. Food was amazing . Morgan and Ray took special care of all of us . We even did some non tour sites but most of all we made some pretty special friends . I would recommend Approach Tours to everyone thst wants a carefree and fun filled vacation! Fantastic experience: From the moment we met Kamille in Toronto and the rest of the 20 days, everything was organized and ran smoothly. We saw all of the Big 5 and being able to visit the Swazi and Zulu villages we wonderful Deon and Kamille worked well together and we were informed each night of the plans for the next day. Deon was a wealth of knowledge concerning all our stops in South Africa I cannot say enough to express the wonderful time which is a credit to bothof these folks. The extra surprises of the occasional drink added was great and it certainly was a blessing to be able to use the lounge during the long layover en route home Kamille with her ever present smile and assistance was great If you are thinking of going on this trip I would highly recommend it

Fantastic experience: This approach to her South African trip exceeded our expectations. It was well organized and packed with Safari adventures. The tour guide Rasha Salem and Raymond Rich where knowledgeable informative easy to talk to and very responsive to all our questions. They organized our daily activities well keeping us well informed of what was upcoming. The Safari trips were fantastic with numerous experiences with the large animals of Africa at close range. The accommodation was outstanding. The food was delicious. The travel Arrangements worked seamlessly. I would highly recommend this trip if anybody wants to do an African Safari Adventure.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful trip to South Africa! The fun began before we even left home when we received a welcoming call from our Guru Rasha. She made sure that we were hooked up with the Whatsapp group and that all was in order for the trip. Throughout the trip she looked after the entire group as if we were her family. The national guide, Rich was also amazing. They worked together to provide the best experience for us. Our group truly felt like a family. South Africa is like no other destination. The trip is chock full of so many great experiences. The itinerary is a busy one with little downtime. We were treated to lots of local foods and taken to a variety of historical, cultural and natural points of interest. Go with an open mind and you’ll love it.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time travelling solo and with Approach Tours on the South Africa, Botswana and Victoria Falls. Superb, such a fabulous itinerary! The countries, scenery, people, food and of course the animals! Fabulous land and water safaris!The group guru, Rasha and the country expert, Rich made everything run so smoothly and I feel heightened my experience . Rasha was so full of life and enthusiasm; always with a big smile and heart and so proactive and great attention to every detail.Rich was a great source of information and always delivered with a smile. Fantastic experience: Just returned from the South Africa and Victoria Falls tour. WOW! It was incredible! Every little detail was taken care of for us by our guru Rasha Salem and our national guide Rich. They were both so passionate about giving us the best possible experiences while having a ton of fun at the same time. Our trip would not have been the same without their dedication and passion. The hotels were great, the glamping was awesome! It is a busy tour and it could use a little more down time built into the schedule. The boat trips were so relaxing too, all while seeing the wildlife, especially the Chobe national park one. I would encourage anyone considering this tour to go for it! You definitely will not regret it!

Fantastic experience: Approach Tours - South Africa &Victoria Falls (sept 2024) We truly enjoyed this trip with Approach Tours (local guide Pieter Van Kraayenburg) starting in Cape Town and ending in Zimbabwe. Great itinerary with lots of time to see all kinds of wildlife, birds and terrain via land and water. Accommodations improved as we traveled out of Cape Town. One will never go hungry on an Approach tour. Pictures don’t capture the experience. Pieter (the local guide) and our group of 20 travelers was one true highlight. We are off to Thailand with Approach in February. Looking forward to it!

Fantastic experience: We’ve just returned from a 14 day tour to Greece and the Cyclades. It was a trip beyond our expectations. John our Tour Guru had our itinerary so well planned and kept everyone on track. He went over & above to make sure all of us were well taken care of. Our country guide Nenna’s knowledge of the history of every site they brought us to was exceptional and she told the greatest stories. We saw places that we would have never seen if we had tried to do this on our own. We’ve come home with a lifetime of memories and a great group of new friends. Positive experience: We had a lot of fun. Ireland is a beautiful place and the group we were with was great. Our trip guru Rasha was wonderful. Meals were very good but lighter lunches would be better. The hotels were great. Also the overnight flight left us jetlagged for the first few days. An option of flying in the day before would be wonderful

Fantastic experience: We booked the Iconic Greece and the Cyclades, 2 week tour, leaving May 7. Included was home pickup and drop off by limousine, round trip airfare, all transfers, luxury coach, ferries, meals, tips and gratuities. Our Tour Guru, John, met us at the airport check-in introducing himself and giving us directions on where to check-in and meet our fellow travellers, 24 in all including our Guru. He was with us the entire trip, informing us of our itinerary for the next day and keeping everything moving smoothly and on time. We met out National Giude, Nenna once we arrived in Athens. Nenna was an exceptional guide, her knowledge, experience and ability to keep your attention with her stories of Greece, its history and mythology, was captivating. Our tour included 11 cities and 3 islands, covering all the historic highlight's of Ancient Greece. We highly recommend Approach Tours for this terrific tour of Greece.

Positive experience: What a trip! The Tour of Ireland was a wonderful experience filled with people, places, and experiences. Grand Cathedrals, World Heritage sites, and compelling stories from local tour guides. The accommodations were first rate and encompassed modern, historical, and interesting! The food was top notch and offered varied menus and superb service. What a great value for a great experience.

Positive experience: It was a great worry-free tour of Greek islands. We liked the idea that from the home pick-up to drop-off, everything was taken cared. Fantastic experience: This trip was a trip of a lifetime. I had always wanted to see Africa but as a single apprehensive traveller who had never been on a tour before, I didn’t know where to begin. A friend mentioned Approach Tours. When I read the itinerary for South Africa and Victoria Falls it ticked a lot of boxes for me - penguins, game drives and Victoria Falls. Everything was included which made it so very convenient for me. We had a hiccup at the beginning when KLM cancelled the first leg of the trip the day before we were due to depart but Approach was able to get us on the same flight the following day. Karin, our trip guru kept us updated on what was happening. We didn’t miss out on any of the trip as our tour guide, Deon was able to organize everything so that the people who arrived as scheduled didn’t see the same thing twice and we didn’t miss anything. The accommodations were great, from top notch hotels, to glamping tents and a private game reserve. Deon was an outstanding tour guide. I enjoyed hearing about the history and culture of his homeland from him. He and Karin made a great team, making sure that every stage of the trip ran smoothly. It would be hard to pick a favourite part of the trip as everything on my bucket list was ticked. I saw most of the Big 5, missed the elusive leopard, although others on the tour did see one. It is hard to describe being surrounded by a herd of elephants as there isn’t anything to compare it with. It will be always be a favourite moment for me. Fantastic experience: Portugal was magnificent in the sites and architecture that we experienced. Our international tour guide was a walking book of knowledge and our approach guide took care of all our needs and extra interests we had. Everything was professionally done by Judite and Kathleen. All the travellers were caring and pleasant and our bus drivers were tremendous. I would recommend this tour to one and all.

Positive experience: Our Approach tour to Italy was fantastic. Our guides RASHA and Giuseppe were always there and ready to help. They hired guides for each location that were very knowledgeable. We learned lots. The tour could have been a little longer to allow more downtime for resting or shopping. All in all we had a great time and definitely would recommend to anyone that would like to learn about the area they are visiting.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from an APPROACH Italy tour and I fulfilled a bucket list trip. The trip Gurus Rosemary and Francesca went above and beyond to meet and exceed my very high expectations! I travelled solo in a mixed group of 20 including couples and solo travellers who were not only inclusive but whom I now consider friends. We hit all the hotspots but also enjoyed the “surprise” visits to family owned farms and vineyards for delicious cuisine and of course wine! I will definitely recommend Approach to my friends. Positive experience: A good trip in Italy to have an overview of the top tourist spots. The guru Rasha was excellent in helping problem solve and providing support for the group . The local guide Guiseppe was adequate but perhaps needs some additional training to understand the different clientele that he will experience in an Approach tour .

Fantastic experience: AMAZING, We selected Approach Tours not knowing what to expect.  Everything was absolutely worry free. Home pick up to airport, from airport to home and everything in between was seamless. From the start of our Italy tour to the finish…. trip Guru Rash Salem (a.k.a. “Momma Bear”), was simply the best. Rasha was always ready to make the Italy experience the best for everyone. Always going above and beyond to make everything perfect. Our local guide Giuseppe was wonderful as well. A great representative for Italy.  Giuseppe’s interesting facts about Italy and his great sense of humour was enjoyable. The many historical sites and building we visited were astonishing. Our cheese, wine, olive oil and limoncello tasting were some of the most delicious culinary delights of the trip. Fantastic experience: I am so glad I chose Approach for my first taste of Italy. It was delizioso! The well planned, all inclusive tour made for an active, worry free experience. Positive experience: Italy Tour: Spring 2024. Our first tour ever and didn't really know what to expect. We were very happy with the tour and would have given it a 4.8 rating if we could. Our trip guru was unbelievable. When you spend 16 days on a tour, there are always issues that come up, and how you handle them is what defines a great tour guru. Our guru (Rasha) handled them all with a smile on her face. Basically, she worked very hard to make all people on the tour happy (NOT an easy job!) Our national guide (Giuseppe) also did an amazing job, always tweaking the itinerary to make the majority happy and willing to research different ideas to accommodate our special requests. He was entertaining, funny and has a wealth of knowledge on Italy. All the places we went to were fantastic. I think we saw every "must see" destination that Italy has to offer. I just can't put into words how breathtaking some of the Cathedrals and Basilica's are. Also, seeing the ruins of the Roman Empire was very special to us. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was, at times it was too busy. Meaning, too many things booked in a given day and very little time for lunch (30 minutes is not enough time for lunch after you have walked all morning). This only happened on a couple of occasions, and in these cases, the morning tour ran long. Most of us on this tour agreed that more "free time" would have been better. All in all, it was a fantastic vacation and one we will remember for the rest of our lives. We would not hesitate to book another Approach tour. Very professional Tour Company!

Fantastic experience: Just came back from the Signature Italy Tour April 17 2024. Enjoyed a wonderful trip…well planned, and managed. Fantastic experience: Wonderful trip for my first tour with a group. It was well organized & exceeded all my expectations. Laurel, our guru, was simply amazing. Together with our local guides she took care of all the details & let us know what would be happening (down to a weather forecast for the next day). We shared an amazing 20 days learning about South Africa, seeing all of the Big Five on safari & enjoying our time with fellow travellers. The meals & lodging were all good & I would not hesitate to recommend this particular Approach tour to family or friends.

Fantastic experience: This was a well planned tour throughout South Africa, into Eswatini and Zimbabwe. We saw so much more on this tour than we thought. And there is no way we could have done this on our own. Our tour guide was fantastic. Deon provided so much context on South African culture, history, life in general along with the regular info on the sites we saw. Hotels were very good also. All meals included. Can’t think of a better way to tour the country.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I went on the Vietnam & Anchor Wat tour from February 16-March 6, 2024. We absolutely had a fabulous time and would highly recommend this tour with Approach Tours. We liked that Approach Tours is based in Canada and the prices quoted are all inclusive. There are no hidden costs. Communication with the company before, during and after the tour was excellent. We felt very looked after by our Guru, Miriam and our Vietnam and Cambodia guides. They were very professional, approachable, well organized and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested and open to experiencing an active fun-filled tour filled with history and cultural experiences. The Vietnam & Anchor Wat tour journal and iternary is very well put together and is very informative as to what to expect every day. We would not hesitate to book another tour with Approach Tours.

Fantastic experience: I just returned from a Vietnam/Cambodia tour held during March 2024. It was a wonderful tour managed by three very passionate tour guides. They always looked after our needs and wishes. All the places we saw and activities provided were very varied and interesting. Everyone had a lot of fun. Food was delicious and wonderful. We even visited a couple of places where Anthony Bordain and Obama had dined. Accommodations were also all very good and appreciated. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Positive experience: I recently traveled solo for the first time and chose Approach Tours because of its all-inclusive pricing for Vietnam and Cambodia. Terrific value for money! There were many add-ons along the way at no extra cost. We really got to see and experience the culture of both countries in a very big way. They shared personal stories that really gave us a lot of insight into what day-to-day life is like. Fantastic experience: I worked as a Guru leading a trip to South Africa. Not only was the itinerary very well planned out and organized, but the people in my group made the trip wonderful and memorable. I enjoyed the responsibility of looking after the 30 travellers in the group to ensure they were having the best possible experience. For many of the travellers, this was a once in a lifetime bucket-list trip and it was heart warming to experience it with them. It was my job to help foster an environment to build friendships among the group in order to further contribute to their overall experience. Fantastic experience: I have worked with Approach as a Group Guru on 12 tours which included 8 different tour itineraries. I have led tours for Approach in Sicily, Croatia, South Africa, Morocco, Greece, Vietnam, Portugal and most recently, in Egypt. On each tour you will find a unique experience with local food and culture – but what really makes each tour stand out to me is the people. As a Group Guru, it’s my job to create unity in the group and turn 30 strangers in friends. I love being able to connect with people and bring them together in this way. Before every tour, I call all travelers to gain an understanding on who they are, what they’re most excited for, and what they are really hoping to gain from their tour. Sometimes its sisters travelling together, or a married couple hoping to celebrate an anniversary, or sometimes it’s a recent widow who’s anxious to return to travelling as a solo traveler. To be a part of their experience abroad is incredible and I love being able to help make their tour as special as possible. It has been fun to watch this company evolve and grow and be a part of their successes and growth. As an individual that has traveled to all 7 continents, I love their product and have no problem recommending it.

Fantastic experience: My first group tour and everything was perfect! The tour content, the accommodations, the different food venues were first rate. The tour guru Rosemary Bartlett was an excellent guide and friend to us all, our Irish tour guide Maggie was the most knowledgeable, pleasant and funniest Irish lady who entertained us all around Ireland and John our coach driver charmed us all with his smile and helping hand! Lastly our 30 member tour group proved to be the best companions and new friends for laughing and joking and eating and drinking our way around Ireland! Highly recommend Approach to provide the very best tour experience!

Positive experience: Food was not as expected or described in the information. Buffets and pre-made meals that had little to no thought put into them. Same meals pretty much everyday..chicken or fish. Some Local guides from Greece tour were not very helpful. Basically only saw them at lunch!! Our Guru Caroline was good and tried to ensure everyone was doing ok. Overall it was a good tour but i think it was a bit overpriced for the accommodation and meals were very basic..not what should have been for an expensive tour.

Negative experience: Vietnam/Cambodia Review DO NOT use Approach tours if communication is important to you. Do NOT use Approach tours if getting to your destination in a reasonable time is important to you. We took Approach tours Package to Vietnam and Cambodia. Instead of being routed going west from Toronto, Approach Tours sent us East through Europe. Our travel time going was 35 hours with long layovers and our travel time coming home was 43 hours for the same reason. This routing caused us to miss our first day and night in Hanoi. We did not get our flight information until 9 days before scheduled departure. Had we known this was the route that they chose, we would NEVER Have booked the trip with this company. Their brochure stated we would fly Cathay Pacific. When we called to confirm, we were told we will be flying Korean Air instead. This was not the case. We understand Approach tours has the right to change flights at their discretion, however receiving flight information 9 days before did not give us time to make other arrangements. There was inadequate customer service from head office. Communication was extremely poor, as we had to leave many messages without any callbacks. KLM cancelled our flight the day before we were to leave and we could NOT get in touch with anyone from Approach tours. Fortunately we had the contact of our guru and she was able to contact Approach tours on our behalf and provide us with the new flight information. The actual tour in Vietnam and Cambodia was excellent. The guides were good, as was the food. Our guru, Caroline was excellent as she went above, and beyond to make sure that everyone’s needs were met. We wish we could say the same for Approach tours.

Positive experience: Vietnam & Cambodia -October 2023 The positives: The home pick up to the airport and back is a nice perk. Our Guru: We flew out of Calgary and met our Guru Caroline at the Toronto airport prior to our flight to Paris. She was friendly, caring and made sure that we met others on our tour and guided us through a maze of flights safely to Hanoi. She continued to be an amazing, steady presence throughout our trip. Hotels: They were all very comfortable, safe and with all the amenities that we required. Breakfasts were provided in the hotels and most offered a buffet and omelet station with something for everyone. Meals: Lunches and dinner were very similar with multiple courses and strategically situated to coincide with our tour agendas. The service was great and the food well prepared and presented. There were slight differences between the meals in Northern Vietnam, Southern Vietnam and Cambodia. Our only complaint was there often was too much food as many of the restaurants served a set menu and individual service. Highlights of the Tour: Hanoi: Temples and pedicab ride in the old neighborhood. Ninth Binh day trip. Ha Long Bay overnight trip which was advertised as a cruise but the ship was anchored the entire time. This area is very beautiful and popular with tourists. Hue and Hoi An: These are smaller cities and we enjoyed the colourful markets and the chance to explore on our own. We also enjoyed the Ocean Cloud Pass scenic drive to Hoi An. Ho Chi Ninh City (Saigon) the Cu Chi Tunnel, Reunification Palace, Tien River and Phoenix Island were great experiences. Cambodia: Siem Reap - We enjoyed the local night markets visited by TuK Tuk, Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat and the floating village at Toni’s Sap Lake. National Guides: Although all 3 were very good, Vien, who was with us the longest, was exceptional. His grasp of the English language made it easy to communicate with him and have all of our questions answered. The Negatives: Communication with Approach Tours was especially poor after we made our final payment in July. They sent us a magic link with a bot to answer any questions but the bot would only invite us to call by phone where we were asked to leave a message. Messages by phone or e-mail were never returned. We didn’t receive our flight itinerary until 10 days before the departure date which caused some anxiety! Then we found that we were traveling East from Calgary instead of going West as we had on a previous Asian trip and our journey would take 4 flights, long stopovers and 2 days. Our electronic ticket was dated September 27th, so why did it take until October 16th to receive our flight information? The return journey wasn’t any better. We arrived back in Calgary exhausted after 4 flights and 48 hours airport to airport travel time. Will we use Approach Tours again? Not likely.

Positive experience: We recently returned from Vietnam, Cambodia. The trip was lovely overall, but with very serious failure to get us there and back reasonably quickly. Times other people noted are true-- many legs and long waits between them. Company defense that they were left scrambling by cancellation by the arranged airline (Korean) seems fair, but some of us suspect that more money thrown at the problem might have improved the trips. After all, we were not promised a great tour if all goes well, but a great one in any case. My partner and thought the meals and buffets were excellent and reasonably varied, if not perhaps as exotic as they might have been. Many excursions were charming, (although some commentary by country gurus was inadequate). We got opportunities to pursue our own plans occasionally. Goodwill from the group added much and, it should be noted, was offered by people who had reason to be quite angry about the situation the company put us in with the travel arrangements.

Fantastic experience: WOW! Amazing trip to Egypt with Approach Tours! Door to door service and everything in between was well-planned. Food, hotel accommodation and Nile cruise were all top notch. Travelled to all the must-sees of Egypt with a great group of people. Tour guide, Mahal, made Egypt come alive for us. We are looking forward to our next Approach Tours trip!

Fantastic experience: Returned from my Approach Tour amazing trip to South Africa a week ago - it truly was a Trip of a Lifetime. As they claim, literally everything was taken care of. How lovely being picked up at your house at the start of a big trip - and even nicer being dropped off at the end of a long travel day!!! Other than the fact we ate too much (!!) it was absolutely wonderful. The hotels were great - the beds were comfortable!!!! Annette, our Guru (5 stars) was approachable, informed, helpful, and fun! The safari's were exceptional - the local guides so knowledgeable and informative, and being up close to so many spectacular animals in their own environment was breathtaking. In addition to the animals, the beautiful countryside of South Africa (and the other countries we visited) was an added treat. Blyde Canyon, Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula, the Three Rondavels.... Also appreciated was the ease of crossing so many borders and knowing everything was taken care of. I would absolutely do another Approach Tour - Five Enthusiastic Thumbs up!!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent Approach Tour to Egypt. Itinerary was perfect and well thought out. Local guide was a knowledgable Egyptologist and kept things interesting. Our trip guru's Mariana and Caroline where fun to travel with and made sure all was well and fixed problems as required but there were few. I was initially reluctant to travel to Egypt with what is happening locally but we felt safe at all times. The only issue that Approach needs to work on is pre trip communication. We tried several times to contact Approach with questions via phone, email. Facebook with no or slow response. This needs to improve. Looking forword to another Approach trip.

Fantastic experience: I just returned from a fantastic adventure through the time and history of Egypt thanks to Approach tours. Our fabulous Egyptian guide, gurus and fellow group members made this a fantastic trip for me. Egypt offers so much! The tours were not for the faint of heart as we trekked in the footsteps of the ancient Egyptians! We were rewarded for our efforts by a great variety of food and comfortable amazing accommodations.

From the pick up from our house to the airport and our drive home from the airport and everything in between was perfect. Fantastic experience: The Approach tour to Egypt was the realization of a dream! Approach planned a fantastic itinerary and were extremely responsive to group wants and needs along the way. The travel Guru and the Egyptian Guide both made this a worry free adventure full of history and new experiences. I would recommend this tour to anyone 55+ based on tour pace, locations, quality of food/accommodations, guide knowledge and just plain fun!

Fantastic experience: Exceptional well thought out tour. The national tour guide provided us with in-depth Egyptian history from early civilization to present day. The pyramids & temples were breathtaking. There was a nice variety of activities beyond archeological sites such as museums, a few opportunities to barter for souvenirs, a visit to a mosque & historic church, a camel ride, sound & light shows, a felluca ride and always a mix of meals for the culinary delight. Cruising the Nile, it was just what the doctor ordered after a busy week in Cairo. The scenery and tranquil farming lifestyle floating by as you lounge onboard, all while getting ready for the next port to experience more of Egypt. The cherry on the cake, the resort area of Hurghada on the Red Sea. What a gorgeous area, an easy rival to the Caribbean! Very much appreciated in country flights on some days when sites were just a bit too far away; no need to spend your entire day on a bus to get somewhere. Of course, no tour would be complete without a great Guru and amazing travel mates. Approach, you've done it again, what a fantastic trip!!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were searching for a way to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary when we came across Approach Tours South Africa + Victoria falls tour it seemed perfect. Boy was it ever! When they say all inclusive they really mean it, the only expenses we incurred were alcoholic drinks and souvenirs. The itinerary was packed full of history, culture, beautiful landscapes and awe inspiring safaris, accommodations were so varied and fun from big city hotels to safari camp glamping, but it was the attention to detail and the personal touches, that will keep us coming back to Approach. Having our group guru Caroline was such a blessing, she made sure everything ran smoothly from hotel changes to bus trips to border crossings and visas solving any hiccups before we even recognized them as an issue. But it was her ability to learn the wishes of every tour member to make each and every one of us experience an amazing trip. The party she organized for our anniversary day will stay with us until we take our last breaths! By the end of the tour we made 30 new friends and travel companions! We would say it was a trip of a lifetime but we plan many more trips with Approach so we now look forward to lots of epic trips in the future! Thank you Approach and dear travel companion Caroline!

Fantastic experience: Just got back a few days ago from a 20 day tour to South Africa. It was very well designed and we did a lot of safari's as well as toured historical sites. I have special dietary needs and the guide made sure I was taken care of and food prepared to my needs. Our Guru Caroline came up with an unexpected stop to see how people live in small villages. No show just reality. Very humbling.I would highly recommend Approach tours to anyone looking to travel . They are prompt in answering questions and in assisting in your booking. Sue McNeill

Fantastic experience: Recently in May my sister and I decided to try a group tour trip and booked 16 days in Italy with Approach Tours. Best decision we have made. The trip was amazing from start to finish. From our dedicated guru Rasha Salem, to our Italian tour guide Tony ,they were both outstanding. From the hotels, the excursions and of course the Italian food, it was the best trip ever. I happen to celebrate my birthday and Rasha and Tony went out of their way to make it so special. From decorating my hotel room door, to having the band at dinner sing me Happy Birthday and bringing out a cake. It was amazing. They also bought me a gorgeous cloth weekend bag !! We have already booked a trip to Ireland next May with Approach Tours with Rasha joining us as our guru again. I would highly recommend Approach Tours.
