Fantastic experience: Very good guides, extraordinary landscapes complemented by knowledge about the country and its people, good food, different levels of difficulty, small groups... a winning recipe. I would go back with my eyes closed (not too much though) with Karavaniers.

Fantastic experience: I must write my first review ever following this memorable hike in Portugal with the @Karavaniers. Stunning landscapes, viewpoints almost all the time, captivating and varied trails, wildlife more present than humans, warm welcome everywhere, and very good meals... even with vegetables. A beautiful camaraderie and a lot of laughter with this lovely group of hikers. What can I say about our fabulous guide, @Julie Betelu, who skillfully led us from village to village while teaching us about history, language, wildlife, flora, and more. I plan to select my second trip with the Karavaniers in a few months.

Fantastic experience: Memorable trip in Ecuador with a group! I highly recommend it for the flawless organization and especially because of the excellent guide Iván. He is a passionate person with incredible knowledge on all possible subjects and knows how to adapt to different situations. I loved the variety of activities offered and the stunning landscapes!

The team of cooks does an incredible job allowing us to have excellent meals in the middle of the mountains! Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: We did the Inca Trail in July and the organization was great! We were taken care of as soon as we arrived at the airport. The days were well organized and the hiking days were well balanced. The cooking team works wonders in the middle of the mountains! We ate really well. Our guide Diego was really great and shared his passion with us. Don’t underestimate the cold, it is very present as soon as the sun goes down.

Fantastic experience: Human experience and incredible logistics on Aconcagua. Karavaniers knows how to support people in their preparations from start to finish to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with my experience (trek Nepal). Very poor value for money: Karavaniers is surely very good for some types of treks, I have only done one with them, probably the wrong one according to my expectations and the things announced. The Nepalese team was very good. 1/ The trek does not match what is announced on the site: - Trek pace is much slower than announced on the site and by phone: Announced intense and extended days of 6 to 8 hours: Announced: Intense and prolonged effort on long hikes in autonomy. 7 to 8 hours of walking per day, or more on occasion (even if one has to expect, during the pass, a longer day), as well as some exploratory days if you are open to other discoveries. The reality, a lot of 3 to 5 hours of walking per day and half days, with no program in the afternoon. Very slow pace even out of altitude. - Extra hikes were announced to me before departure to make up for short days, none were proposed to me despite my persistent requests. - No flexibility. Everything is scheduled and if the group is too fast, no possibility to go faster (so many breaks to slow down the group). - 'Wild' camping, 80% of the time in the yard of a lodge.. Wow. - Guide is not very open. I feel like I participated in the guide's trek and that at no time did the guide take the group's opinion into account. 2/ Very ordinary food (example dinner: pasta accompanied by water spaghetti and rice) and a couple of very minimalist lunches, a slice of bread, a slice of cheese, and a Bounty..). I am aware that resupply is difficult, however, we passed by several small restaurants with very good dishes at a very affordable price several times a day. 3/ An obligatory extra was requested for a helicopter flight ($$$). The price of the plane flight was not refunded and on the day of the flight, instead of booking enough helicopters for the group, we had to wait for one of the helicopters to return. As a result, with the delays, about 7 hours late, which is longer than the plane! No refund. However, with another group member, we had found helicopter flights for the day before and the morning so there was space, at about the same price as the mandatory extra (without refund of the flight). I did write upon my return, but after a long call, I have heard nothing for several months... I would have liked to read a review of this kind before booking.. Think of your expectations.
