Fantastic experience: We had a unique and first-rate 3-hour tour experience with Throwback Tours through all of the great sights of Montreal. At the suggestion of our wonderful concierge, Otilia, from the Hotel William Grey, we met Emerson, the charming, affable, and knowledgeable owner of Throwback Tours, who led us to his 1970 Cadillac convertible. What a phenomenal way to see the city! Emerson thoughtfully provided a fuzzy blanket for us in the back, as it was a bit chilly, and the convertible experience made for an excellent way to see all the sites of Old Town Montreal, downtown Montreal, and Mount Royal Park. Honestly, we were as much of a sightseeing object as the tour stops themselves; every time we stopped at a light, people on the street wanted to come by to get a look at the car or take pictures of the car, as she was a real beauty! One tourist even asked to climb in and take a picture (and although Emerson was a gentleman, I wouldn't advise that -- it is his car). People couldn't seem to help themselves, though -- they were enchanted by the vintage Caddie. His entire fleet is comprised of vintage Cadillacs. Everywhere we went, people seemed to know Emerson, and he was excellent in his knowledge of both Canadian and Montreal-specific history. He speaks both English and French, and he was very considerate and right on time. In our three hours, we received a very comprehensive sense of the city and its place in Canadian history. We even stopped for Tim Horton's coffee and snacks. The tour was very personalized, as well. When he learned that my husband and I are in the medical and educational professions, he made sure to point out stops in Montreal specific and related to both professions on our tour. Overall, I highly recommend Emerson and his Throwback Tours. You will receive a tour experience unlike any other from a charming, knowledgeable, and thoughtful tour guide. Fantastic experience: Took the Cadillac convertible tour. Great way to learn more about Montreal. Our tour guide was engaging, knowledgeable and spoke really clearly. My parents were both impressed that they heard everything he said. I’d highly recommend it!

Negative experience: Horrendous. We rented a car for a Autumn day in Montreal. We insisted in our communication with Emerson and Sergio that we needed a car with a closed top since it would be cold and windy. The car showed up with no functioning electronics. Top down, windows down, all not working. Our passengers FROZE on the way to their destination. We dismissed the car since it was a hellish ride and our passengers had to find rides with other people. We tried to contact the owners to discuss this and have been categorically ignored. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Fantastic experience: We only had 24 hours in Montreal, hired two cars for the 1 hour and absorbed all the facts that our drivers shared with us. Kids loved it, great to get a good view of everything without worrying where you are going. Good for 4 in each car. The cars sounds great too!

Fantastic experience: Was out on a walk about yesterday and saw three different classic Cadillacs on the streets at different times. At first I was sure it was just a collector but by the last one it was clear I had to look more into this. Glad we did! My 14-year old son and I had a great time on the tour with Emerson in his white 1970 DeVille. Emerson hit us up with some great history of Montreal, but even more so was just fun to talk to and ask questions of as this was our first time to Montreal. We really loved both sides of the tour, in Old Montreal as well at Le Plateau Mont Royal. And he dropped us right in front of Schwartz’s Deli with some local tips on best ordering tactics which worked out great! Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone, including those traveling with older kids.

They show you the beauty and culture of the city. They also give you very good recommendations of restaurants and places to enjoy the rest of your stay.

Fantastic experience: My husband set up the tour with out me knowing and when the Cadillac showed up I was amazed. Emerson was a great host, personable, knowledgeable and inviting. He took great pics at cool spots and everything. It was fun for sure.

Fantastic experience: I went on a Throwback Tour in October 2019 with my friends and had an great time. Our Guide Alexander made the tour so interesting. I’m happy we got this tour done at the beginning of the trip because we got to see most of the city early on and got a good sense of where we wanted to go during the rest of our stay in Montreal. Its without a doubt, a must do activity when in Montreal!
