Expérience négative: At the office, I had an okay experience. They helped me get a telephone appointment with an insurance agent. But the phone call with this agent was really bad; he started asking for information that I said was in my email. Then he started being rude, saying, "If you make an appointment, you should be organized and have all the information ready." I asked why he was talking to me like that, and he kept saying that I should be organized and be ready to provide all the information. I told him that I had the information, and he said, "But you said you didn't have it." Then I told him that I didn't like the way he was speaking to me, and he hung up. Worst customer service ever!

Expérience négative: I went to CAA to alleviate my stress about booking hotels, planes etc. Caitlyn messed up our hotel reservation so we paid for the same room 3 times. We are still waiting to hear if CAA managed to get my $800 back. It was the hotel clerk who investigated the mistake done by Caitlyn and found where the money went. Still waiting... Needless to say, my travel anxiety is Really High now. Next time I will book it myself. I can mess it up for free.

Expérience négative: Paid for membership, called when a friend locked the keys in a rental, they left me stranded in Wawa for 6 hours. First they told me the guy will be there in 5 minutes, then every hour they would call me to tell me it will be another hour. Now I'm 6 hours in, I could have had a friend bring me a spare key from the rental place by now. Kick dirt CAA.

Expérience négative: I had the unfortunate dealing with this particular branch of CAA - I booked a virtual online appointment with Breanna Reilly who did not show up at the time of the appt. and did not at least, msg me she is going to be late until I emailed her questioning why she is not showing up for the appt. She called at 12:49 and the appt. was at 12:30 by that time I was already with another travel agency booking my flight. I asked for her manager who gave me more excuses and the dismal customer service. Save the headache and do not book with this CAA branch.

Expérience fantastique: Best place for taking photos for passport in town. You can take physical as well as digital photos (in a usb drive). Prices are decent and staff is super friendly. Also photos are very clear and beautiful. Thank you!

Expérience négative: If you’re trying to contact them by phone, forget it. Phones are likely silenced as when you go in, you never hear a phone ring. When you ask why they don’t pick up, they tell you to leave a message and they’ll get back to you, maybe, eventually. Changing policy details require a personal visit, great if you don’t live out of town. No longer help with trip planning, no longer supply maps but if you want an overpriced hat…. One star because most of the staff are friendly and the parking lot is accessible, other than that, use Canadian Tire Roadside Assistance.

Expérience fantastique: Big thanks to Colin the CAA driver who came to our rescue and tirelessly phoned around to find a shop that would help us. Even phoned his retired mechanic uncle who suggested Thunder Bay AutoParts. He then followed is there to make sure we made it. We are now on the road again. Thanks Colin.

Expérience négative: small garage/shop owner here. recently has learned that CAA's local subcontractor (H&H TOWING) refuses to tow your patrons vehicles to my shop. May be good reason as the owner of said company weaseled out of a labour claim to this company owner to the tune of $8000 15 years ago. they had 30 days to respond to the labour boards ruling and "conveniently" declared bankruptcy friday afternoon and reopened on monday morning. in the past 14 years this company has declared bankruptcy at least 2 more times. What's up CAA? if the customer want's it towed some where and your subcontractor REFUSES to do it, why not send your REAL truck with a company employee? Your customer say's "tow it here". your subcontractor says "NO".....maybe time for a new subcontractor???

Expérience négative: I went to CAA at noon to renew a membership and there was only one person working and a line up of 3 people. The staff person was serving a couple already, which seemed to take forever. Very poor service in my opinion.

Expérience négative: If I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately I am having an issue with communication. I have tried to call Tiffany 2 times this week, and emailed her - I haven't hear anything and it seems they are trying to "point blame" to Sunwing when really it is an staff issue. This is not the only time my phone calls, and emails were not answered. When a costumer is trying to call regarding their upcoming trip, its important that we are called back it is basic customer service. The only way to talk to her is showing up, and sometimes that doesn't work for me. Unfortunately, I will not be booking a trip with CAA Travel Thunder Bay again. UPDATE: I was assured that I would be taken care of by the manager Jo-Anne, however that is not the case. I sent an email on Friday August 25th and I haven't gotten a response. The only way someone reaches out is if I go public with my concerns, which is extremely frustrating. I have been more than understanding of the ongoing technical/admin issues that you have been having - however as a paying customer about to drop about 6K, can you please explain to me why I am not getting a response? At this point I would like to get my deposit back - my requests to make a payment on my trip have not been answered, nor my questions around the trip, and others who want to join our party to spend more money are not being answered. If there was an issue with our trip - I would hate to see the lack of response taking place there. I am not comfortable nor do I feel safe having my family travel under your guidance, and responsibility - never mind the additional insurance for my trip or the health insurance.

Expérience fantastique: Got my IDP from here, very fast and easy. Took 10 minutes! They also take photos here so you don’t need to come with some, however it is a little more expensive to get them taken here than elsewhere

Expérience négative: blew a tire, during a freezing rain event. I have CAA 'plus' membership. 20 minutes after telling me they were en route, they called back and said they were "too busy", and told me to find another option, and submit the receipt. No other service was available. Lucky I can (and did) change the tire myself, but it was unsafe condition changing the driver side tire (so I was on the traffic side), on an icy road in an industrial park in the rain, in the dark of night. Most vehicles and log trucks did not even slow down as they passed. I made a complaint, they said they would respond in 7 to 10 days - 11 days later and nothing, no response to the email I sent either. Don't count on CAA! They will take your money, but not necessarily provide service.

Expérience fantastique: I rarely have to wait to be helped. I need to get an international driving permit. The photos were free (because I'm a CAA member) and taken right there. The permit was issued quickly. Now I am ready to drive around the world!!!
