Expérience fantastique: We just returned from our second trip to French Polynesia booked through “Tahiti by Carl”. Planning with video consultation and Zoom calls were like personal visits. Carl took the time to get to know us and understand our travel style. We wanted to book the Paul Gauguin 10 day trip to the Tuamotos and he helped us with the cabin selection and gave us suggestions for activities for each of the islands. He got back to us a couple of days later with a video presentation of a suggested itinerary and price quotations. We finalized the plan with another Zoom call and booked the cruise, flights, excursions, hotel room and all the transfers. All the details, documents and billings were handled perfectly by Sarah in the office. As soon as our plane landed in Tahiti, we were met by a representative who escorted us quickly through immigration. They provided us with our local contacts, vouchers, and itinerary. This service was really appreciated after a long flight and the uncertainty of arrival in a foreign country. We booked some excellent excursions through Carl. For this second trip, we chose the Papeete Food & City Tour, Tahiti East Coast Tour with Tracey, and the Moorea Nature and Culture Tour with Yvette. All the tours were excellent as well as insightful into the local culture. Carl has personally participated in them before he would recommend them. At the end of the wonderful cruise, we were picked up as scheduled and escorted to the Hilton for a day room to relax before the long flight home. I will tell them how they could be happier on their next trip to Tahiti; use Carl Henderson, of Tahiti by Carl, as I have done twice; once in 2023 to Moorea & Bora Bora and once in May 2024 to Bora Bora only. The last visit was a family trip with me, my two sons, their wives and my four grandchildren, ages 4, 5, 6 and 9. Think about these questions when you want help planning a flawless trip of a lifetime to French Polynesia. 1. Does your Costco Travel agent really know you? Does he/she schedule FaceTime calls with you as often as you need? Can you always speak on the phone to your advisor or do you often get a different agent who is "familiar" with your itinerary? Do you have to wait on hold 5 – 60 minutes during busy times? 2. Does your Costco Travel advisor answer upwards of 60 emails from you during the year leading up to the date of your dream vacation? And, are those emails answered the same day 75% of the time? 3. Does your Costco Travel advisor take a working vacation to French Polynesia every year, staying in different resorts, on different islands and in different room accommodations so you will know the exact differences between a reef view, an ocean view, a mountain view, a beach villa, an over water villa AND the pros and cons of each? 4. Does your Costco Travel advisor have a working relationship with the sales department of each resort? Does he/she have a working relationship with the vendors who take you on snorkeling, diving, shopping, fishing, local food tours and ATV excursions? If he/she does not know if the snorkeling vendor has life vests small enough for a 4-year-old, do they call the vendor and get you the answer in two or three days? 5. And last, after giving opinions on several local photographers that are good at photographing families and not just weddings, does he/she ask to see your photos of Bora Bora afterwards? Carl, of Tahiti by Carl, does all of the above and then some! This review is not written to disparage Costco Travel. In fact, I use Costco for all my vacations except to French Polynesia. In this case, planning a trip of a lifetime, a bucket list trip and an expensive trip, I want the absolute best expert working on my behalf.

We tried to plan our trip without assistance; and while not usually an issue at all, the logistics of trying to organize this trip quickly became too much. Our introduction to Carl was actually through the local agency that he works with, Tahiti Islands Travel. We sent an initial email and when they discovered that we are not travel planners ourselves, they referred us to Carl. Even though the communications came in late our local time on a Friday night, we had a welcoming email from him early Saturday morning. We were able to quickly schedule a call with him where we talked through our goals of the trip, a little about our travel style, and any specific requests that we had. Within just a short period of time, we had two proposals, either of which would have been perfect. The one we chose offered an opportunity that we did not even realize we wanted until we saw it in writing - a private helicopter ride from one island to the next! Additionally, Carl responded to our multitude of questions without hesitation and always was so friendly (even when I am sure we were driving him crazy!). The trip itself was almost flawless and 100% met our expectations. It was so wonderful to have someone meet us and escort us every step of the way as we explored Moorea, Taha’a, and Bora Bora. Even though there was one small glitch with a tour, we received exceptional service from Tahiti Islands Travel to try and resolve. And in no way do we feel that this caused our trip to be less than perfect. Upon speaking to Carl and him customizing a trip itinerary including activities which were sent via email and a complete walk through video, immediately switched. Carl has complete knowledge of all hotels and activities which took out all the research I would have needed to do and saved me a whole lot of time. Not only does he send a video itinerary, he also send digital magazines explaining what to pack, Tahiti facts, basic travel info, island info , restaurants, what to expect and much much more. The agent pointed us to Carl's website to look at the great maps he had of each hotel so we could select a room. Our entire trip was so well organized from start to finish, and we felt taken care of everywhere we went. He gave us all the info we needed in order to travel smoothly (especially with the always changing Covid regulations). He created an online itinerary with every detail of our entire trip, & even explained thoroughly with a video! He answered all of our questions in a timely manner & overall gave us the BEST experience! We highly recommend over water bungalows, and we visited Taha’a and Bora Bora, both insanely gorgeous locations. Even better than Google pics when you see it in person! Every excursion that Carl recommended was amazing, and we wouldn’t have known about them without his help! He knew all the ins & outs of each island and resort - definitely listen to & trust what he tells you to do! We were so thankful to know everything he told us about! I truly can’t recommend working with Carl enough! We were truly so happy and thankful for him every day on our trip because there’s no way we could have put together such a wonderful trip by ourselves.

Expérience fantastique: I can't say enough how much of a lifesaver Carl has been for us. We began planning five months prior to our honeymoon. Prior to Carl, it was something I was stressed about planning. After we found Carl, he wiped all that stress away by listening to our wishes and requests and built a custom itinerary for us that even had the small details (like transportation) figured out. Unfortunately we planned our honeymoon during peak week of Omicron, a hurricane (cyclone) in Fiji, and a tsunami in Tonga. This resulted in the cancellation of the majority of our trip. Carl was on it though and put together a new itinerary within a day. Even though it was different than the original trip, we still had the best trip ever in Bora Bora and Moorea and will have amazing memories. Thank you Carl!

Expérience fantastique: This review is way overdue but very well deserved nonetheless! Carl helped my husband and I plan the PERFECT honeymoon last July and it was nothing short of perfection. We had always wanted to go to Bora Bora/French Polynesia and Carl set us up with the most amazing experience. We send everyone we know to Carl because we know he will cater to their every wish and budget. We still rave about our honeymoon and cannot stop talking about all the fun we had in Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. We loved every excursion, meal, and resort we stayed in. Carl made everything super easy for us- all we had to do was show up! He helped us navigate traveling during COVID too, which was a lot to handle! We can't thank you enough, Carl! Expérience fantastique: Where do we start? My wife and I tried to book our vacation by ourselves. We were at the point of weeks before the vacation was to start and were not feeling comfortable at all about how it was going to go. So we got a hold of Carl and BAM! he was on the case. He immediately responded to our initial inquiry. Within a matter of days he had us doing SO MUCH MORE FOR SO MUCH LESS!!!! Carl KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING and will ensure you have the vacation of a lifetime in Tahiti. You will be doing yourself such a favor by going to Tahiti by Carl. You get more for less money. Expérience fantastique: Carl is the best. No need to look for anything else. The vacation package he provided was so customized, so catered, and so complete that I think coming to Tahiti through any other source would not have been the same. During these pandemic-restriction days, he was always on top of any requirements needed, new documents that were added or changed. Any flights that got cancelled (and they did, twice), Carl worked to rebook them. He even booked extra excursions last minute, even while on the islands! One of my favorite things about Carl was the patience and info he gave me. I called him many times to talk about budget, total days on the islands, locations, excursions, etc etc. Regarding my own result, my wife and I had our honeymoon at French Polynesia. 1 day in Tahiti, 6 days Moorea, 3 days Bora Bora. We did a waterfall tour, 2 atv tours, 2 full day snorkeling tours (the one in Bora Bora is a MUST SEE), and a jet skii tour. We stayed at Le Tahiti, Sofitel Moorea, and Le Bora Bora. We will be back for more Bora Bora!
