Expérience fantastique: Scuba Refresher Course If you are looking to gain your confidence back to get into scuba diving again, I would highly recommend going to Barrie Scuba House. In the past, both my husband and I took the Open Water Certification through Tim. It had been a number of years since we took to the water but with our upcoming trip to the Great Barrier Reef, we decided a refresher was needed. We were introduced to Kelly. She was very knowledgeable, patient and an all around great teacher. My husband and I left feeling refreshed and ready to head to Australia’s GBR with confidence. We can’t thank you enough, Kelly.

Expérience négative: It disappoints me to write this, but after 4 attempts to book a course with them, not a single person has returned my call. I’ve tried for over a month and no one will respond or assist me. Unfortunately, I won’t be using their services or purchasing equipment from them in the future if they can’t provide basic customer service.

Mohammed is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. His teachings have made me feel a lot more comfortable in water and have gotten me even more excited about my upcoming open water dives. Expérience fantastique: Over the past 3 summers I have been taking scuba courses though Barrie Scuba House. First summer was open water and I was able to take my skills on my winter vacation and dive in Curacao with confidence. The next summer I took my advanced open water to allow a little more depth and further my skills. I took the advanced open water and dry suit courses with Dave and seeing his technique in the water I knew I wanted to learn more, and Dave was the instructor I wanted to learn from. This summer I decided I would transition to side mount and get into tec diving. Dave has always been patient while it took a couple of tries to get a skill completed, Dave was right there watching to ensure I was safe. Dave ensured I had the time I needed in the pool before taking the skills to open water. After the dive, Dave talks though the items to work on and dive feedback on what went well. His passion for the sport is evident. Sue and Darryl in the dive shop are always helpful in answering questions on courses, equipment purchases, servicing equipment and air fills. I always feel they have my best interest in mind.

Expérience fantastique: I have been training with Barrie Scuba House for a number of weeks and nothing but good things to say about my experience. Very professional and thorough approach to imparting their knowledge and skills. Great value for money spent. I just completed more training with Dave Davison of Barrie Scuba House. Dave took me through the ropes of Tec 65 and Tec Rec, using multiple deco tanks and various gas blends appropriate for each depth of deco stop. He sets the bar high so I had to work hard to reach his standards, and I would not have wanted it any other way. 100 meters, woohooo! Thanks, Dave

Cant wait to come back and drop $$$ for a full setup for her. He has earned our business. His tech found me the parts I needed at a fraction of the price of new. Update: Still dealing with them years later. I am a PADI DiveMaster and looking at potentially moving my professional services over to them after my current dive shop sells. They have never done me wrong.

Their attention to detail from fitting to course recommendations was a very pleasant experience. Their indoor training pool rounds everything out with them. There is no second thought that you are in good hands with (tough) Dave and his team for scuba gear, repair, filling, and course (my case TEC) instruction.

I had the good fortune of having Dave from Barrie Scuba House be my instructor while in Bonaire. I can’t say enough about how awesome of an instructor he is and how much I was able to learn within the short period of time. I was able to get a lot time in the water one one one with Dave and I now feel incredible more confident in my skills as a diver in general, not just for the courses I took. Throughout the duration of my course including theory sessions, configuring my equipment, in water skills, and dives, Dave was very patient and thorough. Ended up being a slight mix up with the suits (which was more of a miscommunication that still feel I was more responsible for than them!) but they immediately corrected situation and I couldn’t have asked for more. Expérience fantastique: Recently completed my Deep Certification with Barrie Scuba House. Dave is a fabulous instructor! He clearly sets expectations and then lets the students work through the requirements of the dive. His experience instills a high level of confidence in the student. Having started the course with over 100 dives I still finished with the knowledge that my diving had improved. I worked with another diver as a buddy team. While there were no significant issues throughout the four dives, knowing that Dave was there watching and keeping us safe made the process thoroughly enjoyable. I can’t wait to start my journey into the world of Tec!

Kevin Lepage, my instructor, was terrific. I did all skills needed to participate in a dive. Kevin's manner and instruction were excellent. I highly recommend this dive shop and Kevin.

Expérience fantastique: My journey with Barrie Scuba House began with a chance meeting with Dave Davison at the airport in Bonaire in 2019. We had a chat about possibly doing some Tech Training. Fast forward to 2021 and I started my Tec40 training with Dave. He is a very caring Instructor who listens to your concerns and takes the time to explain things clearly. His skills are absolutely top flight and he teaches how to get better at everything as a diver. I thought after diving for 44 years I was a pretty good diver. Dave pushed me to be better. The Tec40 course was something I really wanted to achieve and Dave got me there. Who knows where it will lead? The staff at BSH (Darryl and Sue) are awesome and very willing to help. All in all a tremendous experience. I highly recommend Barrie Scuba House for all your diving needs and especially Dave and his team for Technical Dive Training. They rock!

Expérience fantastique: Great experience taking the PADI tec 65 trimix course with Dave Davison at Barrie SCUBA House. It had been many years since I had taken a new diving course and wasn’t feeling that confident in my abilities, when enrolling. Dave was reassuring and spent extra time with me in the 87 degree F salt water pool that is on site, to get my skills reviewed and polished up at the start. Dave was familiar with and open to different gear setups and configurations. The shop was stocked with tec gear and accessories, as well as fast dry suit repair (for when my dump valve broke into peices at the end of dive 1). I took advantage of the DPV rental and a strong service technician on site, as well. I felt really confident and comfortable with Dave as a tec instructor. His knowledge base and tec diving experience and skill is amazing and current. He had a very calming and relaxed demeanour. I never once felt rushed or worried he was get annoyed when I needed to practice a skill over again or if I asked too many questions. He was able to emphasize safety and skills while still keeping it fun and enjoyable.

Expérience fantastique: There are some good Dive Shops around, but every once in a while you come across a gem like Barrie Scuba House. With excellent staff and solid product lines, there is something here for every diver from novice to full-on Tec diver. The product selections are very good, there is top-flight on-site service and support, and the on-site training facilities are excellent. Most notable is the Advanced / Technical instruction provided by Dave Davison (owner). I am presently doing the PADI Tec 40/45/50 series with Dave, and I am having a great time. Dave is an excellent Technical instructor, coach and mentor. This is the most challenging program I have ever taken (and I have taken many). Dave has high standards, but he works with his students to grow their skills and achieve. Always patient and encouraging in his approach, Dave inspires confidence and a positive learning attitude in his students, and he is just plain fun to be with. I highly recommend Dave and Barrie Scuba House for all your diver training and equipment needs.

The measurements on my custom fit dry suit (aka big boy suit ...lol) were bang on and I can't wait to get in the pool and try it out then into the cold open waters of Georgian Bay to do the same. This summer has been awesome learning to scuba dive with Barrie Scuba House. Open water, Advance open water, Nytrox and now dry suit training to be finished up. I have learned so much and the training is second to none. Dave your knowledge can not be match and you do all of the that and make those that visit and learn at Barrie Scuba House feel like a member of the family. We signed up for our open water course and completed the in-class and in-pool sessions with Kelly. She was another great instructor! The following weekend we did our open water dives. The team of people that helped us (Sue, Melissa, Dave, Bill and Kyle) are to be commended for the way that they support and care for their clients. Expérience fantastique: One of the best Dive shops in the area. Knowledge Staff, with a large selection of Scuba and Tec gear. They even carry mask for kids. Behind the main building is a beautiful indoor pool and large class room right off the pool deck. All there Instructors are great people that are easy to get a long with. I have quite a few dives with this shop and every dive I have come up with a smile. If you want to know how to dive or want to up grade your skills this really is the dive shop for you.

I started going to this shop in March to obtain Dave's help to become a Padi scuba instructor and I have never met anyone with the determination and expertise that he has! Not only did Dave help me overcome some very big fears that I had to be able to overcome for my end goal, he spent an insane amount of time helping to make sure I knew exactly what I was doing before my IDC. It's all thanks to him, his staff, and his good friend Ed that I was able to accomplish my goal. Dave and Karen have treated me like family from day 1, have always been extremely supportive and encouraging through the struggles I faced, and continue to be 2 extremely good friends. Although I have moved across Canada recently, they still keep in contact with me and I am so excited to be able to go on some upcoming dive trips.
