Expérience fantastique: The level of instruction was outstanding! I recently completed my Advanced Open Water Certification with Float and Flag on an organized trip to Bonaire. Brad was incredibly supportive and thoughtful, thorough yet not overwhelming. Also on this trip there was a glitch in the room we were assigned and my husband and I are convinced it would not have been resolved if Tammy had not sprung into action! Everything was very organized and well-planned. This was our first trip travelling with FNF and they couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly toward us.

Expérience fantastique: Wonderful atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I took my Open Water here and the owners really try to create a community. As a new diver they encouraged me to go on their Tobermory trip to meet other divers and gain experience. Now that I have experience, done lots of diving on my own, and a few more certs, I keep going back. I've joined a few "Pool N Pub" nights and now 2 international trips. They have built a wonderful, supportive community. I went on their Egypt Trip this year and it was one of the most incredible trips I've ever done. I knew I could trust them for such a big trip. And they didn't disappoint, it was so organized. I was looking for our group trips the day I got back! I always encourage people looking to get into scuba to come here, they will set you up for success.

I was a bit nervous about starting scuba, but everyone at the shop and in the course made it welcoming and safe. Expérience fantastique: We signed up but didn't pass the medical. I spoke with Dave a few times; he was very understanding and assured me we would be able to get a refund, even though the course fees are nonrefundable. It was right around the Tobermory weekend so it took a bit of time but Brad confirmed soon after that everything was taken care of. Steve in the shop was also straight with us and advised against buying any equipment until after the medical. We appreciated everyone's honesty and caring, with no regard for the $2500 we would have spent. We will definitely be back once everything is cleared with the medical.

Expérience fantastique: I registered with Float n’ Flag to complete my Open Water Diver Certification, not knowing what to expect, or if I’d enjoy diving. The instructors for the in-pool courses are amazing, and I was able to complete my checkout dives in Curaçao! I made new friends, learned an awesome skill and had the BEST time. As an individual traveller, I loved the added comfort of travelling with a group. Tammy took care of EVERYTHING! I didn’t even forget my toothbrush thanks to her super packing list. HIGHLY recommend Float n’ Flag for all your diving needs. Brad and Tammy are amazing and truly take amazing care of everyone!

The highlight of my experience was definitely Chris, my instructor. His passion for diving and extensive knowledge were evident throughout the entire course. Chris was patient, clear in his instructions, and always made sure we felt comfortable and confident in the water. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best learning experience possible. Expérience fantastique: Did the ice dive and drift dive certification courses with Float N’ Flag. My instructors were Brad Snyder and Michael Matthie. Both did an excellent job. There was a prep day where we went over procedures and logistics. The day of everything went to plan and everyone was on time. Everyone was nice and friendly. Sometimes they’ll even go out afterwards the celebrate completing the specialty courses. I’d recommend Float N’ Flag, and I’m already signed up for 2 more speciality courses.

Expérience fantastique: Great group of people that provide exceptional service and practice what they preach. I have taken several courses with Float n Flag with several different instructors. There is continuity in how they teach and they ensure everyone in their classes get the attention they require to succeed. Store staff are very knowledgeable and are not pushy. I have been told on more than one occasion that they will not sell me items I don’t need. I have also been on some of Float n Flag’s dive excursions and Tammy has set me up with great dive shops to use while on vacation. I couldn’t be happier with the service and products that they carry.

Expérience fantastique: This was our first group trip with Float & Flag travel, and I have nothing but amazing things to share about the trip. They planned and took care of everything! It was an extremely organized trip and had such a personal touch (for example, they picked up Bonine for everyone prior to flying out) so people would not get seasick on the boat. I have never had an experience on a trip like this one! We truly felt valued and appreciated. I highly recommend Float and Flag for all of your travel needs as well as any scuba gear or course you are interested in. EVen if you need more information before a purchase, go in and talk with the team. They will answers all of your questions and point you in the right direction.

The service is remarkably great with huge variety of equipment and brands to purchase or rent. And people, omg, people is always the most important part! Folks like Dave and Brad are so friendly, very knowledgeable and extremely funny Chris kindly helped me choose my gear and with lovely Pat and Mary I’ve done my ReActivate course. They gave me a lot of useful information and very very supportive! I drive an hour out from Toronto to go to this shop specifically. Have done my Equipment, O2, Rescue, and (most recently) Ice Diving courses with F&F over the past 5 years. The shop owners, instructor staff, and technician / equipment guru are all top-notch.

Expérience fantastique: Just went to Grand Cayman with Float N Flag , the diving was top notching. The dive resort was very comfortable for divers and non divers with a kitchen, private bedroom and stores close by. Tammy and Brad are the owners and they accompanied us down there. They made sure everyone was having a great experience and made sure everyone was safe and felt comfortable after each dive. Especially the newer divers or people who hadn't done ocean diving. They also helped people to figure out how to get their car rentals, how to get to the restaurants, how to repair broken gear. Also took the group out to some optional land tours. This was great for the non diving spouses who came. It made them feel like part of the gang and a dive t-shirt for them made them feel included too. Float N Flag is a top notch diving centre.

Expérience fantastique: We recently travelled to the Maldives with Float N Flag. What a fantastic experience. It started with a few days in Istanbul touring all the sites. Tammy and Brad did a great job setting up an unforgettable experience in one of the world's great cities. We loved it. Well organized, lots of fun and we saw so many wonderful things. Then we were off to Male to begin a week of diving. The Maldives is all that you think it is. Beautiful turquoise waters, white sand islands, hotel rooms stretching out over the beautiful blue. The live aboard was great with wonderful accommodating staff. The diving was super convenient from the separate but integrated dive boat. Brad, Tammy and the crew made everything easy. All we really had to do was jump in the water and go explore. The planning was meticulous, and everything went smoothly. No easy feat for a large group globetrotting to exotic destinations. Transfers, tips, what to do next, what paperwork was needed shortly, etc…; all taken care of. Much like just ‘jump in the water and go explore’ these details of travel were looked after for us. Tammy and Brad also did a great job navigating the waters of two group travellers testing positive for covid. They managed the situation very well, keeping the group up to speed with the latest developments and plan changes to accommodate the two. The situational management was unnecessarily stressed by a complete lack of personal accountability and entitlement demonstrated by the two (the reviews are here blaming everyone else). But here again Tammy, Brad and the boat leaders lead our group through it. The balance of the travel group was sure glad to have them out front leading us though this. Just the kind of leadership you need when these unexpected events arise halfway around the world. You can’t control irresponsible entitled travellers but good leadership contains it. Beautiful blue waters, white sand beaches, mantas, whale sharks, fantastic eating, laughter, storytelling and lasting memories. I’m not sure what more any traveller could expect. We have already booked several other trips with Float N Flag and fully recommend them to anyone who loves to travel, see amazing sites, have world class diving experiences and immerse yourself in other cultures. Expérience négative: Went in asking questions and they tried hard. Some answers weren't good but you can't blame the guy on the floor for outdated training. He gave me lots of his time. Been in the business over 20 years. I know when things are lacking. My new club has to be one I trust with my money and my safety. One of the other places told me to check reviews and boy it's good that I did. I see why they call Float and Flag BIG RED FLAG. You can't heap roses on a pile of horse waste and think people don't smell it. Looks like they're trying to hide problems here. It's still just a pile underneath. No thank you. Censoring reviews now? The comment from the owner makes me laugh because you saw my review and answered it by telling me to come back in and talk and now you say didn't get one. All your rebuttals are unprofessional. Report it as spam if you want pal i bet your spam folder is full of negative comments. Freedom of speech prevails even up here. Owner, you say this is spam and delete it. I put it back on and you change your comment to 'you put it in the wrong place' but that's a joke. Do you think I meant to leave a review for a St Huberts but got confused? Their stores smell like roast chicken and your store smells like neoprene wet suits. I know the difference. I knew what what I was doing when i left it here and you know there is no mistake. Expérience fantastique: I successfully completed the divemaster certification with the Fn'F dive centre team. it was a challenging but fun experience. I learned so much over the months. The Fn'F team are all very approachable and knowledgeable. My instructor (Jenn K - with support from David C) really took the time to make it happen for me. The highlight - and eye opener- for me was how much fun it was to be helping new student divers begin their dive journeys and the folks taking the discover scuba classes.

Expérience négative: This dive shop is definitely one to stay away from.There are so many red flags it's hard to know where to start with my review. I personally witnessed a student weighted 25 percent more than her bcd could compensate and then publicaly humiliated to the point where she was in tears. I also talked with another diver at Sun Resorts asking how much weight she was diving with and she said 26 lbs because she said she was told she was a floater. The student that was weighted at 34 lbs which seemed excessive to me being that she was of a small build around 120 lbs after a few diving tips is now diving with just 12 lbs after just 2 dives. Why couldn't the instructors resolve her issue instead of just adding more weights Both myself and another student were told we needed to purchase materials or we couldn't take the course and these same materials were never used in the courses. I am pleased to announce that she obtained her AOW with ease at another dive shop diving with just 8lbs salt water and 4 lbs fresh water and also just obtained her enriched air certification. It was also mentioned by the 2 dive instructors with combined over 30000 plus logged dives where she obtained her AOW and Enriched Air Certifications that the FNF should be charged with attempted murder with the amount of weights they had on her. It just goes to show what the difference between the quality of instructors can make and how if you are comfortable and not ridiculed, belittled and have proper fitting equipment how enjoyable getting certifications can be.FNF commented on her post "safety first" I just dont see it with this dive shop. One might ask about their safety record . Although I was not on their Saba trip I wonder why anyone would arrange to travel on dive boats from St Maarten to Saba when the main ferry stops running and other charters cancel do to safety concerns. . It was also mentioned in FNF the comments she was forced to take this course by me which is an outright lie. The owner of FNF bragged about rebuilding the air compressor for the tank refill himself who has zero certifications to do so . If this was not enough, personal information about myself and others is freely distributed throughout their network and I was shocked when I learned they kept my credit card on file. Also unlike other dive shops they have a no refund policy on many of their products including trips. I was also verbally attacked in front of instore customers for returning another divers rental equipment who wasn't able to return it that day. I have found that Bob's Scuba and Rec and Tec dive shops are a better choice. Be aware that most positive reviews are from family and long term friends of the owners. Fellow divers just remember you've been warned⚠️ Dear Brad It would seem that it is ok for Steve to repost his review to bury mine . I stand behind my review and it would seem you have a short memory because I remember all to well the way I was treated at your shop by you. I also tried to have a conversation with you about the students weights and you put it all on her .

Expérience négative: I am not impressed with the service and knowledge of staff I received after signing up to do my advanced open water training and dives. First of I was told to buy several items that weren’t used, the included rental gear did not fit after trying many different sizes in women and men’s wetsuits, finally got a men’s medium full suit and a x-large shorty which went over my nose when zipped up. At the first Gulliver’s Lake training session I was ridiculed in many different ways in front of everyone present and was so uncomfortable I wanted to quit before I even entered the water. I arrived with my right foot in a walking cast due to an ankle injury which I removed to dive, after setting up my gear a friend helped me to enter the water and I was reprimanded for the help received and was told I would fail the course if I couldn’t carry my gear. After entering the water I felt unsafe due to a very fast approaching thunder & lightning storm, nobody wanted to make a decision to cancel the dive. The second & third dive wasn’t much better, I was over weighted by the instructor at 34# when I dive in salt water with 12# later on I noticed my BCD maximum lift capacity is 27# not sure what would have happened if I was in 80 feet of water. After talking to PADI I was made aware of the severity of danger I could have faced. After going a few more times at Gulliver’s with a friend who is a rescue diver I was diving with 12# and my buoyancy was under control. There were several other issues regarding equipment pickup and return and toxic environment where I found out my name and situation came up with other members of the shop’s dive community

Expérience fantastique: Float ‘N Flag is an excellent dive shop managing all aspects of your dive certifications, equipment, dive trips and travel arrangements plus destinations wish list. When we hit a snag in our trip due to weather they jumped into action to ensure everyone was well looked after and accommodated. Brad and Tammy are very knowledgeable about all aspects of diving, willing to share and teach, without preaching. You won’t find a more caring couple that provides genuine concern for their divers well being on everything from their classes, to outfitting a diver properly. I highly recommend their shop for all divers. Edit: Negative review given by David Staples today is not an accurate depiction of his trip cancellation experience. I was the one who originally booked the trip on our behalf and in no way did he wish to cancel his trip with FNF except for 2 weeks before, despite a break up 6 months ago in May where I begged him to cancel. He refused multiple times and in fact wanted me to share accommodation with him which was completely inappropriate and I refused. From the beginning he failed to book his flights with FNF for this trip because he thought he could do better price wise, and pressured me to do the same. I booked with FNF instead and was happy with my booking. I suspect he didn’t get a better rate than FNF group rate for flying and prices went up, as a result he then decided to cancel last minute to which he was not entitled to a refund. He told me the night before the trip he cancelled the trip “as a favour to me” because it was my dream to go to Saba. I didn’t believe it for a minute because I know him and he wouldn’t do me that honour 6 months prior. I met many people on the trip who have had long time affiliations with FNF and some new clients like me. The general consensus of the group I was with seemed very positive in all aspects of FNF. It would seem to me the bad google review is because he didn’t get his way and was responsible for paying for a trip that later didn’t meet his personal needs, in which case he should have been charged fully.

Expérience fantastique: Saba was an amazing adventure. A hurricane, cancelled ferries, all handled seamlessly by Tammie and Brad. Somehow everything was rescheduled and the trip turned out to be great! I am booking further trips with them and already looking forward to it

Expérience négative: Toxic Gossip & Drama, Controlling People & Friendships, Mistreatment of People, & Disclosure of Personal and Financial Information. (Reposted, Review deleted by owner 4x). My husband contracted COVID on a Float N Flag trip to the Maldives. We were disappointed, but knew the risks. He self-isolated immediately, & when he was told there were no rooms, he agreed to isolate outside on the front deck 24/7 to protect the passengers. We take exception to the inhumane treatment by the owners of FNF. A woman on the trip told FNF co-owners T & B that she had COVID symptoms, but they did not ask her to mask while in close quarters with others. The woman did not want to get on the boat, but T told her it was too late to make other arrangements. T should have helped the woman self-isolate. T should have required the woman to mask pending test results. By allowing her to mingle unmasked, other passengers were needlessly exposed. I was the one who finally asked the woman to mask up, & she complied. Owner, T SHOULD NOT HAVE: -angered & inflamed everyone by telling them the woman withheld her test results & was defiant- this was NOT true -told everyone the woman should be confined to her room below deck for the entire trip without access to fresh air - told everyone that she yelled at the woman, telling her that everyone was furious and that she would not be safe if she left her room, possibly subjected to abuse from other passengers. The woman remains traumatized and afraid of backlash. -sabotaged the possibility of finding land accommodation for the woman to isolate, telling resorts that she was uncooperative and defiant -made up her own unlawful rules about quarantine, contravening Maldivian law by not following their protocol. She should have conceded to the boat director, who argued with her about her abuse of the sick passengers. The boat director apologized to my husband, D for the way he was treated. Owner, B SHOULD NOT HAVE: -left a sick passenger in wind and rain, soaking wet with no shelter. He should have called in the boat director to find a room to isolate. He did not check on D the day after the monsoon, knowing what D endured. He went diving instead. IT IS NOT OK TO LEAVE A SICK PASSENGER EXPOSED ON THE DECK DURING A MONSOON -told D to go to the salon where he would expose other crew members and passengers who were sleeping there -ignored D’s multiple urgent requests to help the woman, who was distressed and at serious risk of self-harm. D spent 48 hours trying to support and keep her safe. D eventually spoke to the boat director, who helped the woman (she consented to this review) B asked me to tell D he wasn’t allowed on the rear deck when the other passengers were away diving. I protested- it was the only place that D could access shade from the tropical sun, and you can’t catch COVID from a lounge chair. T told D he was breaking the rules, and would be confined in the room we shared, exposing me. The boat director intervened and shuffled people around to make room for D to isolate in a cabin. Many divers have left FNF due to disagreements and drama. We enjoyed our first couple of years with FNF, but became increasingly uncomfortable with their gossip about people in the community, breaching privacy. -discussing with us whether or not they would fire a group of people who had gone to Curacao without booking through Float N Flag. B said they would have to choose between their friendships and the shop or be fired. T punished them by splitting up the group on a subsequent trip so they were not on the same boat -trying to exert control over who associates with whom. We were strongly discouraged from associating with the Curacao group -gossiping about customers who had health issues, addictions, financial problems -badmouthing customers, disclosing personal financial details - complaining about novice divers, saying they won't dive with them again -the Galapagos Sky boat gives a 5% discount ($1000) to returning customers. We were eligible, as were others, but FNF did not inform us or give us the rebate.

Expérience fantastique: Over the past 15 years, since I became certified as a Scuba diver, I have been a active part of the Float N' Flag dive community. I have participated in many local dive trips to Tobermory, Brockville, Niagara River, as well as international dive trips to many of the Caribbean islands, Galapagos, and most recently to Saba in the Caribbean in October 2023, completing my 400th dive while there. One of the things that has impressed me, and keeps me diving with Float N' Flag is the detailed planning and execution for all of these trips, and the utmost concern for safety for all of the divers. The trip to Saba was no exception. Although our trip started with an unexpected delay caused by a hurricane going through, Tammy's responsiveness to the situation provided alternate accommodations in Saint Maarten fro 2 nights, and then safely transported us to Saba. While in Saba great attention to detail made everything flow smoothly, so I was able to complete 13 dives, participate in Sea and Learn presentations in the evenings, and of course enjoy some great food at the local restaurants. My diving experience has certainly been enriched by Float 'N Flag, and Brad & Tammy with the integrity and professionalism they show in running the shop, in interacting with new and veteran divers, and operating so many amazing dive adventures.

Expérience fantastique: Just got back from an amazing trip to Saba with the FnF team. We travelled the day after a hurricane came through, challenging conditions! What was amazing was the tireless reaction from Tammy to get us to our final destination. While other groups that were supposed to be enjoying a week of diving on Saba turned around and went home, we were able to get to Saba and enjoy all of the 14 dives that were planned! It was only through Tammy's connections, relationships and determination that we got to Saba on Sea Saba's dive boats when the ferry was cancelled. The most incredible part was she did all this juggling with a smile and positive energy. Saba was everything you could imagine; stunning landscapes, professional and fun diving with Sea Saba, warm people, awesome food and beautiful accommodations. Everything you could want from a dive travel experience was checked off; amazing diving, fantastic group of people, opportunities to learn (Sea and Learn, Blackwater diving) and a laid back welcoming island. Looking forward to many more adventures with the FnF team. Thanks for opening our eyes to the world above and below water.

Expérience fantastique: I should have been here sooner but life and tech has delayed me. I joined the Maldives trip in April and my my overall experience was amazing. I met many great folks and was in awe of all the hard work that the F&F family put into making this a great holiday and dive experience. The work that went into the planning for extra excursions was incredible, i was amazed at what I saw and learned. Thanks Tammy! Yes Covid presented a hurdle along the trip, it was handled in my opinion safe and manner with consultation with the boats crew. Was it perfect well that could be debated for years, especially when involving 20+ personalities. Overall for me I had a great experience and hope to join the F&F team again soon for another great adventure. Again thanks to Tammy & Brad for all your hard work.

Excellent advice! A discerning reader will note that in the past 6 days there have been 11 reviews. An astounding number considering that in the past 5 months, there has only been 15 reviews. Without a doubt there is dissention and a toxic environment at FNF. The common thread is that each of these people traveled on the FNF Istanbul/Maldives trip in March 2023. There would have been 12 reviews in the past 6 days had an initial negative review not been removed which sparked the sudden onslaught of reviews. FNF owners seem desperate to counter negative reviews, by “whipping the vote” and encouraging others to post positive reviews. Why would these reviews suddenly appear 5 months after this infamous trip? It is perhaps only with this Google review that I can prevent a similar situation happening to others. I informed FNF owners that I was not feeling well the day after we arrived in Istanbul. Upon arrival in the Maldives, I told them my condition had worsened, I did not want to get on the Liveaboard if I had Covid as I would EXPOSE OTHERS as well as be unable to dive. Owners assured me that the liveaboard was aware of my health concerns and all would be taken care of. I felt that I had no other option being a single diver halfway around the world from home, but to comply with the owners. The Liveaboard Director informed me that I was Covid positive only after leaving port. Meanwhile, the FNF owners continued diving. They did not check on me out of their own volition as concerned, compassionate tour operators would normally do. When one owner finally did come to talk to me only after my repeated requests, I got the full brunt of her anger. I was told that other divers may punch me if they see me or at the very least say not nice things to me. I did not get any inquiries as to my health. No offers were given for the simplest things like a Tylenol or throat lozenge or decongestant. I found out later that the FNF owners informed others that I intentionally hid my Covid results. This is absolutely UNTRUE! FNF was aware that the boat Director was assisting me obtain lab results from the hospital as I was unable to obtain them myself. The FNF owners told me that there was a vote regarding the rules of my isolation. There was NO VOTE; no group decision. Instead it was owners making up isolation rules to suit themselves and were not based on any knowledgeable basis of how Covid is transmitted. The boat Director told me he had never encountered such an unreasonable, rigid organization. He said his hands were tied since the FNF owners were directing 22 of their 24 divers on board. The FNF owners subsequently told me that another diver had tested positive in such a manner that it was inferred that I was to blame. I was at fault for ruining his vacation and putting his wife at risk. So, the verbal abuse and shaming continued. In isolation, I was physically ill. I was only checked on by the crew delivering my meals. I feared physical and verbal abuse when I was let out of my cabin after isolating for 7 days. I did not know who to trust or reach out to. I had trusted FNF owners to look out for me. Nothing could have been further from reality. As tour operators/owners of FNF, they are coming from a position of power. In my case, they wielded this power with an iron fist and crushed me. I was traumatized, isolated, threatened with physical violence, marginalized and lied about and to. I will never dive with or place my trust in FNF again. I strongly recommend to Google readers – especially those travelling as a single diver -- to be alert to the negative environment of this shop.

Expérience fantastique: As a business owner myself, I tend to pay a lot of attention to customer service and product offering. That being the case, I can say without hesitation that Float 'n Flag nails it on both counts. In fact, by my second visit, I already felt like a regular and valued customer. Being relatively new to the sport, I have a million questions and I need lots of gear. I have yet to ask for something the team can't get for me without hesitation and without trying to talk me into something they already have in stock (unless it's genuinely a better option). Their wisdom, guidance, and no-pressure support never fails to impress. Short version: If you're a diver in the southern Ontario area, you'd be crazy not to stop by.

Expérience fantastique: I recently did the Underwater Navigator course with Float N' Flag Dive Centre. Brad Snyder was our instructor. Over the 2 days of the course, I was impressed by how prepared he was ahead of time having arrived much earlier than us to setup the courses. He took his time explaining things, answered all of our questions, made the course fun and interesting (rewarded us with candy underwater when we navigated to the correct locations) and voluntarily requested feedback of his own performance and if there was anything he could do better from our perspective to make the course a better experience for us. I loved that he was open to feedback even though we didn't have much because he was already so awesome. I would definitely do a course with them again and would cross my fingers to have Brad as the instructor again. :-)

Expérience fantastique: My family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) recently completed our open water dive certification with Float N' Flag and had the best experience from start to finish. Staff and Instructor Dave was patient and informative and set us up with required gear in store. Master Instructor Paul and Divemasters Blake and Sarah were so attentive and knowledgeable and made us feel safe during our pool training. Special arrangements were made for my daughter to finish her skills when she had to delay training due to illness. So grateful to owner Brad Snyder and Paul! Float N' Flag's professionalism and expertise continued through our Open Water check out weekend at Gulliver's Lake. We were in the capable hands of Instructors Dave and Samantha and Divemaster John. Now certified, we returned to Gulliver's Lake for an evening dive. Feeling nervous, we were happy to still have the support of experienced divers. Divemaster Lisa helped navigate us through. Counting down the days now to our first scuba trip to Curacao and owner Tammy Synder has organized our dive itinerary for us. Thank you! Great first experience for all. Expérience fantastique: My experience at Float N' Flag Burlington was exceptional from just simply calling into the business to inquire information about starting to scuba dive to actually taking the scuba open water diver course. Dave Loveland really helped draw me in and then guided me to take the steps to get my certificate. Once I came out to the shop in-person he dedicated his time to personally to answer all my many questions, explain the process and help fit me with all the gear that was necessary. When I found that I wasn't comfortable in the wet suit I tried on he really went the extra mile to find one that I felt comfortable to dive in. He was also very transparent, honest and I felt fair with what I would actually need in terms of gear. Never once did I feel like Dave was trying to over sell me on anything and the pricing was very good. Then when taking the confined water scuba dives I had Dive Master's Sarah and David who were Amazing. When I struggled with a couple of the skills they took the time to talk to me, help me aside and make me feel comfortable, safe and confident. I also witnessed all of the Float N/ Flag team members being super with everyone who was in the course, You really couldn't have found such a charismatic and excellent team to work with. Expérience négative: We have had horrific experiences with this company, although it started out great. The personal drama and side issues caused us to declare our complete separation from this operation. We walked away from the diving and the friendship recently after a nightmare trip. We began diving with Float N' Flag in 2018. The service was impressive and competence impressed us. However, within 1-2 years of diving with Brad and Tammy, it became clear that they are always surrounded by extreme negative drama. The extremely personal gossip about their clients began early but became more troubling as our time with Float N' Flag continued. We questioned our friendship a few times when they disclosed information about other clients that was so personal that we were uncomfortable. Tammy and Brad have tried to influence our friendships with people who have left their dive community, or have offended them. They are very pushy in this regard with many in their dive group. Dishonesty and vindictiveness became a serious concern. We went to the Maldives on a live aboard trip this year. Through negligence on their part, there was a Covid infection on board. Myself and another passenger were treated like criminals. I was placed in isolation on a couch outside, at the front of the boat. There was a monsoon that first night and Brad came out, suggesting that I return to my cabin, despite the risk of infecting my wife. He suggested I sleep in the salon area, but that would infect staff who were sleeping there. Brad offered no real help. He hurried back inside to keep dry. I was left standing on the couch to keep my feet out of the water on the floor. There was an electrical cord in the water, which presented a risk of electrical shock. The couch and blankets ended up being soaked. When I was sunburned the next day, I sought shade the next day at the rear of the boat while the divers were away on the smaller boat. As the boat returned, I went back to the front of the boat, away from people. I was reprimanded and told I was being punished. Tammy yelled at me and told me I had broken rules. She yelled at the other infected passenger until she was distraught. Tammy viciously lied about the other passenger, telling the divers that she had intentionally withheld her test results. This was proven false partway through the trip but Tammy continued to claim that it was true. Tammy angered other passengers, telling them that we were both resisting isolation requirements, which was untrue. I tried to speak with Brad, but he offered no help. He is unable to reason with Tammy. Brad supported Tammy's offensive treatment. I missed half of the diving and experienced such degradation and hostility that I could never trust either again. The treatment of the other passenger was cruel and unnecessary. In all of this, I saw a side of Brad and Tammy that was beyond disappointing. Despite their claim to the contrary, at least 5 passengers contracted Covid on this trip. This was the second time I was infected with Covid on a Float N' Flag trip. It was the second time we witnessed unethical and vindictive behaviour towards those infected. It was one of MANY times that we witnessed Brad and Tammy issuing ultimatums about who could have a friendship with whom. Brad states that giving customers false information about dive trips is justified because "it's marketing and does not necessarily reflect the reality of the situation". They lie to their friends without conscience. Personal drama interferes with professional conduct and standards, and havoc ensues. Even if you leave the dive group, the drama and persistent communications continue. (Edit: I continue to receive unwanted harassment regarding this review). Those who depart out of necessity are denied deposit refunds. "Shop policy" is justification for things such as withheld deposits. Float N' Flag is no longer an operation that I can trust. I once endorsed them enthusiastically but I now recommend doing a lot of research before becoming involved with them. They also report unfavourable reviews as "fake" to silence them.

Expérience fantastique: Since I started diving in 2016( got my open water certification at Float and flag), they have been awesome in the care and support of myself and the other customers that I see who come to the shop. The planning and execution of all the dive trips are second to none.have done numerous trips to Tobermory. A little side note: The “Tobermory takeover “ that they plan is the largest gathering of scuba divers in Canada. About 70 divers . Please correct me if I am wrong. Maldives,Bali, Truk, Galapagos, Fiji, Bonare, etc Wow!,

Expérience fantastique: I was able to check off ✔️ one of my bucket list trips when we traveled to the Maldives in March 2023. Impeccably planned from start to finish - we started off in Istanbul. We were in Istanbul on a previous trip to Indonesia which was also fantastic - we decided to go back! Maldives was full of epic wildlife encounters (I went for the Manta Rays), great people, fantastic dive guides, unreal boat amenities and some wicked awesome drift diving! Hold onto your reef hooks! There were some Covid-19 cases on board, but that is the reality of travel in the post pandemic world. One just has to deal with it as it comes. Boat and shop staff were able to pivot and adjust to a constantly changing situation - making sure everyone was okay under the circumstances. These efforts did not to unnoticed. It was unfortunate to see fellow divers having to isolate, some of which were so excited to be on the trip. An unbelievable adventure despite the sickness on board, but you can't let that take away from the trip of a lifetime. I will definitely be travelling with this group again.

Expérience fantastique: Over 20 years ago, I obtained my open water cert from Float N Flag and, while I wallowed in it as a lackadaisical hobby diving once, maybe twice a year, I always returned to FnF. I wasn't diving more because I didn't have a network of divers to reach out to or to reach back and do more local diving. One of the FnF team members suggested joining them at Gulliver's and/or doing a dive trip to open that network. It was life changing! From doing 5 dives a year to 5 a day, for a week on a liveaboard, had a dramatic effect on my skills and abilities, building my confidence and making lifelong friends. The adventures with FnF continue, from Georgian Bay to the Indian ocean, I have always felt that my safety was paramount to the team around me. I have said (and been told) more than once to my DMs and buddy's, I am trusting you with my life. Through effective training and advice from the more experienced around me, I have continued to grow as diver and as a person. A lot of that is credited to FnF and the community I am part of. I am having the best time of my life. Changes in latitudes really does change attitudes!

My time in Istanbul was nothing short of mesmerizing. The city tour allowed me to explore its rich history, from the awe-inspiring historical sites to the bustling Grand Bazaar. The boat cruise on the Bosphorus provided a unique perspective of the city's stunning skyline, and the food! Istanbul's culinary delights left me craving for more. The real magic happened when I set foot in the Maldives. A week aboard the Emperor Explorer, scuba diving in this tropical paradise was beyond words. The underwater world was a spectacle of nature's finest creations. The coral reefs were vibrant and teeming with life, from graceful turtles to elusive octopus and mesmerizing moray eels. And let's not forget the heart-pounding channel dives with sharks, a truly exhilarating experience. The absolute highlight of this trip was the opportunity to dive with Manta Rays. Float N' Flag took care of every detail, from travel arrangements to accommodations. It was a seamless and stress-free experience that allowed me to fully immerse myself in the adventure. My trip with Float N' Flag to Istanbul and the Maldives was a bucket-list experience of a lifetime!! Despite the extraordinary experiences I had in Istanbul and the Maldives, it's crucial to acknowledge the impact of COVID-19 on our travel plans today. Unfortunately, this did rear its head during our trip, affecting some of the individuals on board the Emperor Explorer. It was incredibly disappointing to see fellow travelers having to isolate and miss out on the incredible diving opportunities we had. I can only imagine the frustration and disappointment they must have felt at not being able to partake in the underwater wonders of the Maldives. It serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic. Float N' Flag & the Emperor Explorer crew took proactive measures by providing masks, hand sanitizer, and rapid tests for all passengers. The communication provided by the boat staff and tour leaders kept us well-informed about the situation and ensured that everyone was aware of the necessary precautions to take. Despite the challenges, my trip was still an incredible adventure!!

Brad and Dave will help you with any questions and help you get ready to start your training in scuba diving. We had two awesome and fantastic instructors (Mike and Paul) who taught us what we need to know and more to make sure we had the the tools to become drivers with there knowledge we couldn’t ask for better instructors. Expérience fantastique: We have a lot of choices when it comes to shopping at a dive shop, and different people are looking for different things. Great service and great selection are two of the things I'm interested in. I purchased a pair of fins from FloatnFlag and after a couple years the fins started to delaminate where the two colours and two materials join. Certainly this isn't the fault of the store, and the fin brand isn't important, but what is important is what happened next. I returned the fins which were three years out of warranty, but my previous pair had last twenty five years so I was disappointed. The store staff mentioned that they do see this delamintation on rare occasions and would contact the distributor to see what could be done. With no hassle and little effort on my part, I received a replacement pair of fins from the store and another diver is a happy camper. -Rob

Each time since then I have nothing but positive experiences with Brad and Tammy and everyone else who works with the shop. Initially I thought I just wanted to learn how to dive. After taking the Open Water course in June 2017 I realized I NEEDED more. In September 2017 I did the Peak Buoyancy course and then a week later the Advanced Open Water course. The experience you gain from each dive is amazing. By the end of the Advanced course you are exhausted but your confidence underwater has increased tenfold! I would (and have) recommend Float n Flag to anyone interested in learning to dive. By far the best, most knowledgeable, and supportive dive shop around! Expérience fantastique: I can't believe my luck in finding Float N' Flag. Dave and Brad are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. They are able to assess what is best for each of their customers, and inform, educate, and advise. And that is before the fun even starts!! I went to them because I had broken my trusty prescription diving mask of many years, and I can testify that it is no fun being under the water, but only seeing a blur!! Past experience had made me skeptical about finding a properly fitting mask easily. Dave and Brad managed to find a new mask which fit my old prescription lenses, saving me money. But I was nervous of being left without a mask for another winter in Barbados, so I asked them to order me a second mask. So now, happily, I have two scuba masks, with prescription lenses. Expérience fantastique: I recently successfully completed the PADI Rescue Diver course. It was a challenging course (for a slow learner like me) but I was in good hands as the team at FnF were professional and friendly with safety at all times front and center. Paul (the instructor) worked well with the students and his support team (the dive emergency victims.) It is a great set up at FnF and a great environment to learn and advance your skills as a diver.

Expérience négative: Complete rip off, I wish I could rate it 0*, we rented 4 tanks and paid $200 for them, which to begin with was a rip off, any respectable dive shop we rented tanks from was never more than $20/tank. To add insult to injury, they refused to refund us even half when we returned the tanks full, 1 day later and explained the trip was cancelled due to inclement weather. This is not the spirit of the local dive community we came to love. Avoid this place at all costs if you don't want to be ripped off, plenty of accommodating Dive shops in Oakvile and Hamilton.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent Customer Service. While travelling with FnF in Fiji, I had a medical issue. I was not comfortable with going to the hospital there. I mentioned to the owner of FnF travel, Tammy Blake-Snyder, the medical issue I was experiencing. Tammy dropped everything she was doing and went to the hospital with me, she stayed by my side through the ordeal. She made arrangements for the transportation there and back, she even had a staff member from the hotel accompany us. I really appreciate your kindness and support Tammy! Thank you

Expérience fantastique: Two years after my first dives (Mexico), I'm upgrading from Scuba Diver cert to full Open Water, and needed to complete pool training in Canada before travelling south again. My experience with Flag n Float has been first-rate thus far -- like, nearly perfect. Early tell-tales gave me confidence. Brad, who runs the place, would reply to emails in a few hours with a lot of detail -- fully thought through plans, not form responses. When I'd bump into him in the store, he'd refer to details of my trip and other parts of our conversations. My pool session was excellent. Brad made it fun, wasn't rushed, and seemed to have a good eye for dialing up/down our cadence based on my confidence/readiness. I'm too new a diver to say EVERYONE MUST LEARN AT FLAG N FLOAT! Which is dumb, anyway -- I haven't tried every dive shop. In the past four weeks they earned my trust. For not a lot of $$$, I received a 2-hour equipment refresher from Mike -- really practical, I applied at least one arcane tip a week later -- plus an exam and the 4-hour 1:1 pool session. I can't imagine they made money on that. I was kind of waiting for the other shoe -- pushing me to buy gear from their shop. They didn't push at all. They just built trust. As they should.

Expérience fantastique: I came to Float n Flag to do my open water course and to get all the gear I needed to do my Commercial Diving course at Seneca College. Brad the owner of the store helped me to figure out what gear I needed and how to get it. The customer service he provided was absolutely exceptional, when the dry suit I ordered through him was delayed due to covid reasons he leant me a dry suit at no extra cost so I could continue in my program. Float n Flag isn't just a recreational dive shop and is a great place for people in the commercial diving industry to go if the need gear or help with their dry suit.

Expérience fantastique: I was told that i can bring my paintball tank to be tested here. So I called and ended up speaking with Brad. Not only did he go and take the time to explain as i am new to this, but he also went above and beyond to research the information based on the pictures of the stamping i sent him. Within a couple hours he got back to me and told me the unfortunate news to say my tank was gonna expire. So i need to get a new one.. that being said..His professionalism and care to go above and beyond is why im leaving this review! He really took the time to explain everything to me where he could of easily just shrugged me off and also suggesting to take pics b4 i drove their coming from Toronto was also great! Expérience fantastique: I have been a customer of Float N Flag for several years and have bought equipment, did courses and went on some trips with them. Every experience I have had has been 5 stars. The owners and staff are all very professional, knowledgeable, safety conscious and passionate about diving, while still having fun. Their trips are amazing as they plan and arrange everything both below and above the water and always have a great group of divers to hang out with. I have had more than one trip of a lifetime with them, and I am grateful for that. Also I really appreciate all that they do to educate and support the sustainability of the oceans and the marine life within it.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve gone on two international diving trips with Float N’ Flag Travel and I very highly recommend them for your next diving adventure. As a single traveller, I appreciate the safety of travelling with a group and knowing I am diving with well trained and experienced divers. On a recent trip I was even paired with an instructor and was able to finish my Advanced Open Water certification in the warm waters of Bonaire. Tammy took care of every detail so we could relax and enjoy our vacation. When we were delayed in Curacao on our return flight because of a winter storm in Toronto, she arranged day passes for all of us at a local resort so we could spend the day on a beach instead of at the airport. She turned this unexpected set back onto an awesome adventure! The challenge with Float N’ Flag travel is that they offer so many great trips that it’s difficult for me to choose!

Expérience fantastique: I recently took in my Atomic Cobalt dive computer as it had died on a dive trip. I loved that computer. Owner Brad was very understanding. He gleaned that I was the type of individual who wants update messages so they looked at it locally then sent off to the national service office. Since it was taking some time Brad even offered for me to use his own Cobalt if mine was not back before my next trip. Brad followed up and ultimately it has been replaced with the Cobalt 2. All of the assistance I received was with a smile and a great discussion about diving and equipment. This is a fabulous shop for gear, trips and experiences and informed people and I will use it regularly. I am very thankful to the team.

Expérience fantastique: I just completed my open water class & check outs with this company. They were phenomenal from booking to certifying me. Brad (the owner) has such a positive and engaging personality that extends to the rest of his staff. They are all so excited to scuba dive and impart their knowledge to others and make everyone feel included in their community. They are personable and have so many community events to make gaining diving experience practicable and accessible. I am so excited to join this community of divers and continue to gain diving experience and education! 10/10 - couldn't recommend more !!
