We had a driver named Nils that went above and beyond in every aspect, i don't think I have ever met anyone so passionate about their job and community. He went out of his way to show us some cool areas around Robert's Creek on our way to our destination, and was very educated on local history. I have traveled to many places in the world, and Nils stands out as the best driver/tourist guide I've ever encountered. 10/10 Nils is the man.

Expérience fantastique: Feeling very grateful for Costal Rides and Nils this evening! After my travel arrangements went awry I ended up needing a ride from Langdale terminal to Earls Cove. Nils was extremely communicative and friendly, coordinating pick up time perfectly with my walking off the ferry. My drive with him felt like catching up with a friend! He shared stories about his experience on the Sunshine Coast, took me down the scenic routes, and offered suggestions for places to check out. Expérience positive: I love how easy-to-use the app was! The approximate pick-up times were pretty accurate. Used this taxi service mainly for my commute to and from work. The only downside I’ve noticed, is that it’s super busy around 0600-0700, so after my night shift, I’d have to book in advance or walk home. Otherwise, drivers were friendly and vehicles were clean!

Expérience négative: Joke of a service! No 6+ seater which is fine, we were willing to take two separate cabs, which they only had one so half the ppl would have to wait for the next trip. But the kicker was they wanted $70 for the 18 km trip per cab each way =$210 Definitely a opportunity for someone to open up competition

Expérience négative: Asked driver to drop me at the top of my very very steep driveway because I had a lot of heavy groceries to lug up. He said NO because he would then have to reverse back down the driveway. ‍♀️ so I had to put all my stuff on the curb and bring everything up one by one. Not impressed. This is especially hard when you are a shift worker and have been on your feet all day. Not appreciated at all.

Driver was lovely and helpful as well as extremely professional. When I tried to call a taxi, I was told first come first serve, which is not what a single woman wants to hear coming home from a long vacation in the middle of the evening. Comox felliw Airport is a long way in the middle of nowhere if you don’t have a ride.

Expérience fantastique: We used Coastal Rides twice for emergencies due to a mechanical breakdown with our SUV. One ride was from Sechelt to Pender Harbour. The drivers were fast, efficient, and friendly. The app is very user friendly and intuitive (just like Uber or Lyft). Coastal rides is highly recommended by our family.

Expérience négative: So basically that was the least safe I have ever felt in a car. Driver started by being irritable and swearing, and then proceeded to pick up a different passenger in the middle of our groups rides home (without offering us much of a choice). The speed limit was loosely obeyed and so were stop signs and circulation lines. There had been some kind of mistake with the system, but that doesn't explain why our driver decided to ignore road safety laws. Thank you Nils. (I got home 1.5 hrs after leaving Sechelt [I live in Roberts Creek]).

The app also gives pickup times and shows the live location of your car. Our driver was friendly and informative. Would most definitely use again. Awesome modern taxi service!

Ride request confirmed immediately upon requesting, after a local competitor informed me that he was on available,, three days after i had made my request on his website. Will definitely be using these folks again.

Expérience fantastique: We used Coastal Rides this weekend to get from the Gibsons/Langdale ferry terminal to a trail head near Earls Cove ferry terminal. We were 2 people + bikes and paid $160, all in. The price point is similar to Sunshine Coast Connector, but the Coastal Rides comes out on top on a few counts: (1) it’s out of season and they are still running, (2) they are more flexible with routes and timing, and (3) they can carry more bikes. Booking was straight forward. The app only allows bookings 6 days in advance, so we emailed support and got it done in 2 emails. The branded minivan was easy to spot, and was marked in the app. Loading the bikes was quite quick. Ryan, our driver, was great company on the drive. 5 stars. Will use the service again. Would recommend.

They went above and beyond to make sure all our guests arrived on time and returned home safely. The communication was extremely concise and helpful, Ryan did a great job and gave us confidence that everything would be done as discussed. Expérience fantastique: I pre-booked two rides for a large group of 10 in June 2022. Ryan from Coastal Rides was very responsive and answered all of my questions . Because I was booking for such a large group, I made an online request and corresponded with Ryan via email. Once the booking was complete, I could see my pre-booked rides confirmed in the Coastal Rides app. On the day we booked, the driver of the large vehicle we needed was injured, but Coastal Rides quickly found a solution at no additional cost to us. I would definitely use Coastal Rides again!

I had originally been concerned about ride availability because living in a much bigger city I sometimes find this an issue with Uber and Lyft, but we never had a problem getting a ride and the drivers went above and beyond in helping to store my father's walker as well as ensure that we were comfortable. Will happily use this service on our next trip.

Expérience négative: This is my second attempt at booking a ride using the app with the exact same result, I hesitated on my first review to give them a second chance, but they failed me twice in a row, so here we go: Before I clicked confirm it showed available drivers on the map and said it would be about 12 minutes for a driver. When I applied the local coupon and clicked confirmed on the ride hail it searched for about 30 seconds and then gave me a message saying there were no rides available. A friend in a different account logged in and showed the same available rides. I highly recommend you do not support this ride service.
