Expérience fantastique: Luxury Egypt What a wonderful trip! Our guides, especially our guide on the Sun Goddess, were spectacular! We also normally had the guide all to ourselves, just the four of us. We learned a lot, could always hear our guide, and were able to be agile in navigating through sites. We loved the suite rooms with balconies on the ship and on the last day in Cairo they upgraded us to suite rooms.

Expérience fantastique: This was the first time our family utilized Platinum Holidays. We selected a Safari trip to South Africa because of the itinerary and value. We will come back to Platinum Holidays for other adventures because of their high level of service and attention to detail. Theo was exceptional in her communications and problem-solving doing winter storms in the US and regional flooding in South Africa. When we realized that winter weather may impact our flights, we called their office and a representative kept us on the phone as they received updates from both airlines and the Safari lodge. They even arranged a car service while we were in Johannesburg so that we could do extra touring before we flew out. All the arrangements held up well and the trip exceeded our expectations. This group gets our highest marks and we will use them again!

Expérience fantastique: We went to South Africa and stayed at Shiduli Game lodge in the karongwe region. The game drives were amazing and the guide, Gilbert, was knowledgeable and got us in places to see ALL the animals. The food and service was amazing. Then onto Victoria Falls where we were met by our private driver for our entire 4 days. NTando took great care of us. We learned a lot from him and he wanted to learn from us. He helped us book extra fun things to do, showed us around town, and walked with us through Victoria falls and told us all about the history and pointed out the best picture ops. We added the helicopter tour at Victoria falls and it was well worth it. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation while seeing all the big 5 plus. We also did the chobe national park and river drive. Excellent vacation. All the transfers and flights were seamless. Thank you Platinum!

Expérience fantastique: Theo and her team at Platinum went above and beyond every step of the way to make our trip to Africa an amazing experience. Beyond helping us with all the little things that come up with any multiweek trip pre-departure, they even worked through the night and across time zones and borders to help us get medication issues handled quickly when our youngest son developed a reaction to malaria medications en route to South Africa for a safari. They had a local rep waiting at the airport with the new medication we needed when we landed at midnight local time! The tours and the people were beyond lovely in every country we visited and the hotels and experiences they booked for us were truly incredible. We've visited over 60 countries, but this was our first time using a travel company to handle the trip, and we would use Theo and her team again in a heartbeat!!

This was my second trip booked with Deodene who went above and beyond to make my trips incredible. Everything was seamless, the accommodations and food were fantastic and, of course, seeing the Big 5 and Victoria Falls was amazing!!! Expérience fantastique: It was an absolute joy and blessing working with Junior Singh of Platinum Holidays for our six-day Golden Triangle journey (Jaipur–Agra–Delhi) in India. From the very beginning, Junior’s warmth, professionalism, and unwavering attentiveness made us feel completely supported. His expertise and quick responses gave us such comfort and confidence as we prepared for this long-awaited trip. We were met at the Mumbai Ship Terminal by driver Pramod Bhuse, who arrived right on time—actually earlier than expected—and immediately put us at ease. His skill in navigating the bustling streets of Mumbai made what could have been a stressful ride feel surprisingly calm and even enjoyable. After our flight to Jaipur, we were greeted by Mr. Rakhesh Schag, our guide, and Mr. Nitin Kumar, our driver, who stayed by our side throughout this entire journey. Mr. Schag was an exceptional guide in every sense—knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly kind. He shared the history and beauty of each site with such passion that it truly brought India to life for us. His resourcefulness in helping us bypass long, overcrowded lines was something we appreciated more than words can say. And Mr. Kumar—steady, skilled, and caring—ensured that every ride felt safe and comfortable. We trusted him completely. The hotels arranged for us were clean and comfortable, and two of the three offered wonderful, varied meals that we genuinely enjoyed. Even when one property did not meet expectations, the overall experience far outweighed that minor disappointment. At no point during our travels did we feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Instead, we felt welcomed, protected, and deeply enriched by every moment. This trip was more than just a vacation—it was an unforgettable life experience that we will carry in our hearts forever. I will wholeheartedly and joyfully recommend Platinum Holidays to all of my friends and family. We are already looking forward to planning another journey with them in the near future. Expérience fantastique: Brian from platinum was a pleasure to work with in booking my 8 day Sicily tour. He was informative, responsive to emails and phone calls, helpful and kind. Walked me through the booking process dates, travel insurance needs, flights and bookings. I cannot recommend this company enough. And the tour itself was phenomenal. Tour guides Angela and Rita went above and beyond for everyone. Their knowledge of and love of the island of Sicily was obvious. Restaurants and hotels were very good and excursions were outstanding. Angela’s kindness and attention to their clients was amazing- recovering several lost phones, bags etc. Angela knows the art and architecture of the island as well as the history and local knowledge. Rita was so kind to set up a special birthday cake and celebration for one of the group. Amazing !

The Nile River Cruise was excellent with good service and staff. The local guide Tony was very nice and knowledgeable. He made all the history interesting and gave us free time to look around without being pressured. The safari and lodge were outstanding. The animals we saw, the staff, and the food were amazing! Would definitely recommend. Our guide in Victoria Falls was the best. She was with us most of the time and was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. She went above and beyond. I’m not sure if the add-on’s were worth it except for the flight over the falls. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Expérience fantastique: I was a bit concerned about this company b/c I usually travel with another company. However, this Egypt/Jordan tour far outweighed other companies itineraries in terms of sites visited, beautiful hotels, all breakfast and dinners included and value. I will definitely give them a "10" and I even had my own private driver throughout the entire 2 weeks. I felt quilt fortunate to travel with Platinum Holidays and am so glad I booked with Bob!

Expérience fantastique: September 2025 Review: Junior Singh of Platinum Holidays created a magnificient itinerary with Planet Tours. This was our second trip to Egypt with Platinum Holidays and our first experience with Planet Tours, the ground operator. I must say this trip exceeded the previous trip. Our trip was fantastic. Kudos to everyone involved, from airport greeting and meeting to drop off; Sherif our tour manager was very efficient and ensured all pickup times were adhered to. Each Representative was excellent. Each of Planet Tours representatives , Youssef, Mario, Fady and Omar were polite, engaging and did an excellent job getting us to out destinations be it hotel or airport. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, every detail was meticulously planned and executed, making this journey through Egypt a perfect blend of adventure and culture. Planet Tours' logistics are to be commended for their efficiency. The hotels were good, and we ejoyed them both as well as the Nile Cruise. The only down side to the cruise was the cabins were very small, but pristine. The boat staff and crew were exceptionally service oriented and engaging. The itinerary was packed and due to timing, we forfieted two of our excursions but that did not diminish our experience as we had done these previously. We were surprised, when our road trip from Hurgharda to Luxor no longer went through the villages, but was all highway driving with little traffic. Planet Tours was very accomodating to my request for a larger vehicle in lieu of a small car to transport us from Hurgharda to Luxor, a four hour drive which would have resulted in stiff cramped legs and feet. . The company went above and beyond and transported us in a van. Many thanks to them for that. Also, the Planet Tours’ guides Mina K Nashed and Medhat Meladf were excellent tour guides and are both very knowledgeable of ancient Egypt history. Both of our Guides took exceptional care of us to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. The luncheons at very nice restaurants were also a plus. Planet Tours offered us excellent restaurant experiences. Thank you for organizing such a fantastic experience! We highly recommend Platinum Holidays and look forward to another well planned trip. Thank you again Junior!

Expérience fantastique: We booked an 18 day Egypt and South America trip with Platinum Holidays. Deodene, our trip advisor did an awesome job. She answered emails quickly and everything went according to plan. All of the accommodations, hotels and lodging were fantastic. The Nile cruise and egypt guides were exceptional! The activities and tours were amazing. We saw the big five up close and personal! Everyone got a “window “ seat in the open safari vehicle. The package was fairly priced and worth it! I highly recommend this company and tour.

Expérience fantastique: I just returned from the Greece and Egypt tour, and overall, it was an incredible experience. Everything was very well organized — there was always someone available to greet us, assist with transportation, and help with anything we needed along the way. The tour guides in both Greece and Egypt, as well as on the Nile Cruise, were exceptionally knowledgeable and personable; I truly feel that we left with new friends. The itinerary was action-packed, which made for a full and exciting trip. While some of the flight times and scheduling were a bit awkward, everything ran smoothly, and I have no major complaints. My only suggestion would be to use caution in the shops included on the tours — some of them seemed to offer inflated prices under the guise of “special deals,” which is fairly common in tourist areas. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable journey, and I’m very grateful for the experience.

Expérience fantastique: I found Platinum holidays on a TravelZoo deal as I wanted to go to Egypt for my 40th Birthday. Wow, was this the best decision ever! Bryan was fantastic and helped me plan and answered all my million questions. Once I got to Egypt, the entire staff was outstanding. I felt so safe they were so organized and extremely knowledgeable on the history and all the sites - and they made it fun. The staff was extremely warm, friendly and hospitable, in perfect English. Whatever we needed, they provided. The hotel (Swiss Inn Pyramids Golf Resort in Giza was wonderful) and the entire trip the food was top notch and slept like a baby every night as we did a lot but not overdoing it. This is one of my favorite trips of all time. Thank you to Bryan, Platinum Holidays and Blue Sky in Egypt (Sam, Sahar, Kareem and Miki) for a trip of a lifetime. Expérience fantastique: Our safari trip was outstanding!!!! Everything was well planned out and executed. The resorts were beautiful and the food was amazing. The only complaint that I can comment on was the amount of time driving and the conditions of the roads. The roads were unbelievably rough and bumpy!!! And you do spend quite a bit of time on the road. But that had nothing to do with platinum holidays. Brian was awesome in communicating with us throughout the process(and we did have airline issues) and made sure that everything was in order. I highly recommend this trip through platinum holidays!!!!!

Expérience fantastique: I would give more stars if I could. I worked with Brian and can not say enough wonderful things about he and the company. He and the company they work with in Peru set up a dream trip for me. I felt like a Queen. Everything was pre arranged for me all I had to do was to show up. All accomadtions (all with amazing breakfast buffets), transfers, guides, tickets time if you can think of it it was handled. They worked with Domiruth Peru travel in Peru and there Mr Noi Trujillo was in charge. Amazing if I had questions or concerns he was just a WhatsApp away no matter where in the country I was. After the first couple days I just relaxed and enjoyed bc I felt so secure that everything was handled, all I had to do was look for a sign with my name. All the guides are extremely knowledgeable, funny and kind. Shout out to my girl Victoria my new friend, Ronnie, Walter, Andre, Willy my driver for Cusco and surrounding areas. And please know to all I left off the list you were AWESOME also. I did a solo trip 16 days. They set this trip up in a way that I climbed slowly in altitude as my experience moved forward, which I believe is a big reason that I never had any altitude sickness, I come from sea level SW Fl. I could just go on and on. In the end just know you will get to see everything you want to see and do in the time you have. They don't try to up sell or talk you into anything. They will be my travel agency for life now. I am sorry I can not upload pictures as my phone did not sync with computer.

Expérience fantastique: The Egypt tour Jan 2025 was superb, first of all big thanks and shout out to Junior for taking care of us right from the start until the very end, with seamless booking, with answering all our questions and keep us updated at all times . He and his team is truly professional and wonderful to work with. The trip was amazing to Egypt. Everything went smoothly and seamlessly. The Nile River Cruise was excellent with good service and attentive staff that made it memorable for us. Wine, beer, and soft drinks were provided free of charge at lunch and dinner. Great meals and different cuisine offered each night. Abu Simbel was very beautiful. We did the hot air balloon ride as well and it was spectacular to see the sunrise. Overall the hotels, the river cruise, the local reps Planet Tours all did an excellent job and we felt safe at all times. The local guides were friendly, knowledgeable especially Ibrahim and Tony (Nile Cruise) and Mecho (meet/greet us at the airport) all met our expectations. They were Knowledgeable about history, mythology, art, architecture and culture I have had 5-6 friends already asking me to share my itinerary and I am still talking about my Egypt trip. Egypt stole my heart and thanks to this great group of folks who made our 30th Anniversary a trip of a lifetime to remember. Thanks Junior and I will be booking future trips with you (Kenya/Tanzania and S. Africa and some more) now that I have had a great experience. Highly recommended and highly satisfied with this tour. Our PH trip coordinator, Brian, was fabulous! Since this was the first overseas trip for my husband and I (me as an adult) I was somewhat nervous. I had so many questions and, with ease, Brian answered them all. His professionalism and kindness were beyond stellar. BIG thanks to Safari tours and our tour guide, MacDonald, who were amazing. We were greeted, as promised, at the airport without a hitch. Macdonald's knowledge of the animal kingdom and African fauna, not to mention the African customs and beliefs only enhanced an already amazing trip. Expérience fantastique: Platinum Holidays is Amazing. Binod and Junior set me up with Kenya Tanzania holiday. It was amazing. They arranged 5* hotels and lodges. From the moment they picked us up from Nairobi airport till they dropped us off at Nairobi, everything was taken care of. It was a 11 day Kenya Tanzania. If you want to have a safari trip of a lifetime please book with them.

Expérience fantastique: We took the 8 day Masai Mara, Naivasha and Nakuru Safari. These guys were amazing!!! I'm singing their praises to everyone I know and will definitely use them again in the future. The accommodations/food was great, our private tour guides were awesome and so knowledgeable, and the safaris were a once in a lifetime experiences. The additional add-on of the elephant orphanage was so worth the money. In addition, I will forever be grateful to Junior for turning a potential trip-ruining mistake into a non-issue. After we arrived at the airport (on a Sunday) there was a problem with our Kenyan entry forms that was going to keep us from going on our trip, Junior stayed on the phone with me for 3hrs and was able to fix the problem ensuring we didn't lose out on our trip. I will be forever grateful to him and the other employees at Travel Discounters.

Expérience fantastique: What an amazing trip! We toured Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa and couldn't be more pleased at how flawless the three-week trip was moving between counties and camps. The safari camps were wonderful and staff at each was so helpful and friendly. I greatly appreciated the wonderful cake and dance one camp organized for my husband's 70th birthday party. Would we recommend Platinum Holidays? ABSOLUTELY! Would we book another trip through Platinum Holidays? IN A HEARTBEAT! A big thank you to Bob and all involved in arranging this trip and letting us simply sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of Africa.

Expérience fantastique: The tours of Greece and Egypt arranged by Junior Singh at Platinum Holidays were just terrific and smooth as silk. We were met punctually to and from airports, and the accomodations in hotels and on the Nile cruise ship were beyond my expectations, as were the delectable buffets. I couldn't recommend more highly this reasonably priced organization. We originally booked a combination of two packages, Egypt and Israel. Unfortunately, with the horrific attack on Israel by Hamas, and the ensuing conflict, we had to change our plans. The team at Platinum (Bob, Junior, Sean, Lily, Sandy, and Binod) were awesome. They talked with us about options and then we decided to go to Kenya after Egypt. We are so glad we did! Both trips were incredible and so well planned and prepared, down to almost every little detail. The "in-country" tour providers/hosts that Platinum works with are amazing! In Egypt, we were with Planet Tours. Everybody with Planet Tours was wonderful. Joseph, our host guide who met us at Cairo Airport was so thoughtful and so attentive to our needs. She was so lovely and knowledgeable. She really made our day perfect! The Sonesta Nile cruise ship was beautiful and the staff were outstanding! Big shout out to Essam in the dining room! Our Egyptologist and guide for the sites, Zizo, was fantastic! He is a wealth of information, and funny! This guy has his PhD! We were so fortunate to have Zizo for our tour, we got so much amazing information at each site! His passion for Ancient Egypt made every site come to life. In Kenya, we were with Pollman's. Again, everybody was just so amazing, attentive, and caring. They had all the details of our itinerary and ensured we had a stress-free experience, and could just enjoy the beauty of the natural wonders and the beautiful people of Kenya. Special shout out to Fred! Congratulations buddy! At the Masai Mara Game Reserve, we were with the Mara Engai Wilderness Lodge. OMG! This place was amazing, beautiful, and romantic! The food is wonderful, the attention to detail is incredible, the amount of work they put in to ensure we had an amazing experience was beyond anything I have ever seen before (and we travel a lot), and the accommodations (referred to as "tents") are posh and luxurious. It is the true definition of "glamping." We were so impressed. But, it was the people that made it so fantastic! Joyce, lots of love to you, you made us feel so special. Henry, you are the best bartender in the wilderness! Special shout out to Judy my "mama in Kenya." And a very special thank you and lots of love to our safari guide, Dickson! He was just amazing! So attentive, so smart, and had the eyes of an eagle! He spotted wildlife we would have easily missed, but instead we got to experience. The experience on the Masai Mara with Dickson was nothing short of magical, and we are so thankful to have had Dickson as our guide! When you go (not if), stay at the Mara Engai Lodge and ask for Dickson! So, if you are even just thinking about using Platinum Holiday/Travel Discounters, think no more, book it! They are fantastic! Expérience positive: We just came back from a wonderful journey. 21 days in Africa 1) Egypt 2) SouthAfrica ( Karongwe plus Cape Town) 3) Zimbabwe plus day trip to Botzwana Chobe National Park. The Egyptian part of this tour was Marvelous and both our Cairo Egyptologist and valley of the Kings Egyptologist were fantastic. The representative in Cairo convinced the majority of our group to buy Egyptian Pound and in the end it was impossible to used and he himself refused to get paid in local currency. The Swiss Inn hotel was not a good accommodation Expecially for the last day returning from the Nile cruise. I think putting the group near the airport would have been much better. The SouthAfrica part of our package was FANTASTIC. Cape Town after four days in the bush a welcoming change of pace. Zimbabwe three nights was too short and putting the day trip to Botzwana the day before the 33hours journey back to Washington DC was brutal. I would have liked only three days in Cape Town and four in Victoria Falls so that after the day trip to Chobi National Park we could have a leasure day rest at the lavish Inkisa Hotel. Victoria Falls escursion IS a true masterpiece.

Expérience fantastique: this is the second trip we have taken with Platinum Holidays, the planning, activities and accommodations are top notch. The South Africa Safari/Victoria Falls/ Capetown add-on was exceptional. I was amazed by how close we got to the animals on the safari - no need for binoculars! Our guides were born in the bush and had a wealth of knowledge. We saw more animals than I expected, lions, cheetah, leopard, white rhino, magnificent elephants, antelope, kudu, impala, wild African cat, giraffe, cape Buffalo, zebra and others, and totally new species of birds and plant life I didn’t know existed. We had exceptional service at Shiduli, very nice facility, sweet and helpful staff, wonderful food! Victoria Falls was incredible, and Capetown was a very educational. We are now fans of South African wine, the Pinotage was our favorite. I highly recommend this trip - great value for the money, exceptional scenery, people, history, birds, fauna, animals and people!

Expérience négative: DONT BOOK IT! This is the WORST EVER. I am an avid traveler 4 to 6 major trips a year and I DO NOT recommend this agency... STIR AWAY! They are only concerned about their bottom line and have no concerns about the sensibilities of western tourists. During the Pandemic they were willing to send us to Israel, while most sites were closed … I should have learned my lesson, but I’m always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, we scheduled an Egypt trip for an Oct 20th departure . Just as the US Dept of State has issued warnings about traveling to the Middle East. My travel companion & I have dependent elderly family members, we requested to change schedules & expressed our willingness to pay a fee for the changes and were met with complete denial, as protests erupt in Cairo. I will NEVER book anything thru this outfit… they are all about their own benefit … STAY AWAY !!! Use Gate 1.

Expérience fantastique: I was on your Oct. 7 to Oct. 23, 2022 Greece/Egypt tour. I just wanted to say how very pleased I was at the accommodations, the guides, the travel arrangements, and the professionalism of all the people involved in making the trip so enjoyable. Our Egyptian tour guide (Tut) was the best of any I have ever experienced. He was extremely knowledgeable about Egyptian history and a wonderful guide down the Nile and through all the Temples. He was very professional and helpful to all of us, as were his assistants, Kareem and Mimi. All three of them were available 24/7 and extremely helpful at all times. They made our trip so much more enjoyable and fun!! I certainly hope they continue to work for Travel Discounters because they are a tremendous asset!! My only complaint was our room accommodations on Santorini. The room was small and shower/bathroom inadequate. I would not recommend The Aegean Plaza!! The rest of the accommodations were outstanding and the trip was superb!!!! Thank you, and a special thanks to Tut, Kareem and Mimi.

Expérience fantastique: First of all, I want to say thanks for all your help. Everything went fairly smoothly and we were able to see everything I had ever dreamed of. It truly was the trip of a lifetime for me, since I had been dreaming of it since I was about 15! Our tour guide, Kareem Kordy in Egypt was wonderful. Our Egyptologist, Kareem Zohny Shemis was the best. I can say enough good things about both of them. Our private driver in Jordan, Kamel Odetallah was the nicest, most professional man. We were so pl,eased with him and all the extra benefits he provided for us. The Steigenberger Hotel in Cairo was awesome. Location was perfect. It truly is a 5 star resort. The Swiss Inn Pyramids is NOWHWERE near the pyramids. In fact, we were further away from the pyramids there than when we staying on downtown Cairo. The resort is very nice though, but WAY away from the airport and town. The Nile Cruise Ship was very nice, but I wouldn't give it more than 3 stars. We were on the MS Semiramis. Meals tended to not vary much from day to day. The problem was the hotel after the cruise back in Cairo. After arriving at the Swiss Inn Pyramids at 3:15am, got everything off the bus to check in (along with the other 30 people), Abdul (tour guide in Cairo only) told us we were the ONLY people, NOT staying there! We loaded our stuff back up on a different van which took us to a different Swiss Inn. While trying to check in after the van dropped us off, the hotel had no idea who we were or what we were doing there. Mind you, it is now 3:30 in the morning and we had to be back at the OTHER Swiss Inn by 8am for breakfast and our ride back to the airport for our flight to Aswan. Needless to say, less than 3 hours of sleep that night and 2 very unhappy travelers. All internal flights were fine. Would have preferred an earlier flight from Aswan back to Cairo as our 10pm flight was delayed until around Midnight. Jordan was amazing! The hotel in Aswan was great. Location was excellent. Can't remember our guide at Jerash, but he did a great job. The Rose Hotel in Petra was OK. But, they wanted $86 US to use the hot tub for 30 minutes! They must be crazy! Luckily, we were only there for 1 night. Petra itself was incredible! Our local tour guide was Asem Hasanat and he was really good. Provided lots of info and took us on some extra walks that weren't really included on his daily schedule. He really went above and beyond. The Masayen Luxury Camp in Wadi Rum was very cool. Probably our best dinner of the trip! The woman at the Lacosta Hotel in Aqaba was fantastic! She provided the best lunch ever when we arrived. Fresh local grilled fish, salad, veggies and cheesecake with strawberries for dessert. The Ramada Resort Dead Sea was nice. I did manage a swim and a mud bath there! Can't tell you how much we appreciated you guys providing the hotel for our last night at the Amman Airport Hotel. Kamal dropped us off there about 5pm. Since we didn't need to leave for the airport until 2am (for our 3:40am flight), we were able to get a shower and a few hours of sleep. It really was a lifesaver! All in all, I really would not have changed a thing about this trip (except maybe some of the flight times!). All hotels were a minimum of 3 stars and some higher. I would highly recommend Travel Discounters (and already have!) and to work directly with you in particular.

Expérience fantastique: Great experiences with the small group Africa tours. We did the South Africa and Victoria Falls tour in 2016 and had such a great experience with Jackson that we had him book our Kenya and Tanzania tour this past August 2022. Similar to our tour in 2016, the tour was handled by local operators and all logistics were superb. We ended up having a private tour for our group of 4 for the entire trip.

Expérience négative: We are on a trip by Travel Discounters and they have been the worst tour company we have ever used. They first were dishonest in planning our trip. We only booked with them because they told us their tours were ten people or less. We had up to 36 at one point (before they split us after complaining) but still had 18. Then they mismanaged our transportation and left us at a ferry dock in the dark with no way to get to the Greek Islands we had paid for. They should have booked us a flight but booked the ferry for us, knowing it often doesn’t run this time of year. When the ferry was cancelled we were stuck with no way to even get back to the hotel. I called our representative and he told me it wasn’t their problem and that he hoped we had travel insurance. Fortunately we have been all over the world and are seasoned travelers. We were left to book our own flights to Santorini, two nights extra hotel, all at our cost. They refused to help us. We did manage, on our own, to get our trip back on track but I would tell anyone to NEVER use this company.

Expérience fantastique: I hope this review is helpful to those traveling abroad. We traveled in the Fall of 2022 and the Travel Discounters staff was 5 Star service. They contract with Blue Sky Travel tour guides and representatives in Europe who meet and greet you at all airports and transport you to hotels, tours, etc. The representatives handled passport and Visas for us and checked us into our hotels with ease. They always made sure we were never left stranded or abandoned. Our assigned guide, Ashraf, on the 3 night Nile River cruise from Aswan to Luxor in Egypt was superior in service. I cannot say enough about his kindness and expertise. At one hotel, in Barcelona, we needed to reach a representative in the middle of the night for a maintenance issue that was not properly handled by the hotel and we had no problem reaching the emergency contact number supplied by Travel Discounters in advance of our trip. They left no stone unturned for our itinerary. In addition, as senior citizens, we had many questions during the planning stage of our travels that were always answered immediately even in the middle of the night at all hours. We were assisted with step by step planning of our extensive trip through Spain, Italy, and Egypt. The only recommendation I would make is that travelers, especially seniors, be given information regarding the extensive amount of walking and hiking in extreme sun and heat that is required to visit all the famous historical sites. We had so many sites planned on our itinerary each day that we ended up canceling some tour days just to rest. In Egypt there were so many stops in each days’ tours that it was exhausting for older persons. Many tours included stops at artisan shops where you are expected to make purchases or have to forcefully decline buying goods. Travelers should be warned ahead of time to expect to be pushed to buy local goods on the contracted, planned tours. One note to mention, as they are located in Canada, check your credit card information and make sure you are not paying foreign transaction fees when making payments with your card if you are located outside of Canada. Lastly, the tipping guide for tour guides and drivers, baggage handlers, and representatives meeting you at each airport, etc. should be fully explained in detail as we were sometimes confused when and how much to tip every day on every tour, half days and full days. A printed tipping guide would have been most appreciated and helpful. All in all I highly recommend Travel Discounters for foreign travel and tour packages. Our trip was successful and memorable with the guidance from the agents at Travel Discounters.

Expérience fantastique: Based on my recent trip in September of 2022, Egypt has bounced back and is more spectacular than ever after being shut down during the pandemic. Many of the archeological sites have been further excavated and cleared with improved access. I felt very safe and well cared for by my hosts.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing experience with Travel discounters! Will definitely use again if we travel to a destination they offer. We were originally booked to travel in 2020 and COVID hit so, airplane tickets were cancelled. Then the same happened in 2021 and we finally did the trip this year. Junior was extremely accommodating and patiently answering all our questions and adjusting the schedule to give us the best experience despite having to re-book everything over and over again. Local agents were also very well selected and provided great experiences. The private reserve had really good game drives and we had a few more safaris in the itinerary. Saw all big five and many, many more. Every safari was an experience of its own and real fun. Hotels were great. It was an incredible experience in all 3 countries, S Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. A couple of hints: If you visit in April-May be prepared for quite cold mornings and evenings on the safaris - we had skiing type hats and dressed in layers which were taken off one by one when the sun came out as it was getting warm very quickly. If you visit Victoria falls when the waters are high be prepared to get very, very wet - think Niagara and multiply by 5 at a minimum (don't know how it is during the dry season). Bring shoes that can get very wet. We thought of Iguassu falls where we used hiking shoes and were unprepared... The local agent was very considerate and took us to a shop to buy shoes similar to Crocs but much nicer and cheaper (we are still using them in the garden). But if you can, don't rely on this and be prepared:). Recommend definitely taking the helicopter ride - very reasonable price for an add-on but will give you a really good view of the falls which cannot be seen walking around (I think there is no boat like at Niagara). And lastly, if you can, go to Boma even if you don't try the worms:)))... - the rest of the food is very good and the music, the drums (every guest gets one) and dancing experience is really fun. Expérience fantastique: Travel Discounters and "Junior" really took care of us...we recently took a family trip to Machu Pichu and Galapagos, along with other Peru and Ecuador stops...awesome sights, experiences, and trip! Had been waiting two years since the COVID shutdowns and we had to switch our trip from the Egypt/Israel/Jordan package on relatively short notice - Travel Discounters flexed and made it happen! Very smooth connections and excellent tour guides at all tour sites!!

Expérience négative: They always had people where they needed to be to pick you up, drop you off and get you where you needed to go. We never felt in any danger or that we were abandoned, we always knew where we needed to be. The staff and representatives that interacted with us were friendly and knowledgeable. On that level they did great. Where we had our problem is we were always felt like 2nd or 3rd class travelers. The other couples alway got waited on first (by the company), they always got better airplane seats (sometimes they got first class tickets that they didn't ask or pay for, and we the put in the last row on the plane on the same flight). The other couples always were always seated 15 to 20 rows ahead of us. We were sat away from the other members of the group at restaurants, etc. When we were split up at different hotels, the other couples always got better rooms and locations. My wife has bad knees and we always got the room as far away from the lobby as they could get us with the most stairs (most hotels had no elevators). It got to be kind of a running joke towards the end of the vacation. The provided meals were mostly not good. The wait staff could be rude and would give us plastic glasses and other couples would get fancy glass glasses. The wait staff would argue with us about getting ice in our glasses and give other couples ice without asking. They had extras (drink packages, extra tours, etc.) that other couple had that were not offered to us and negatively affected our vacation by not having them (we even tried buying them there and indicated it would be too much paperwork to add it then). Some of these extras were given to other couples free and we couldn't even buy them. Medicines were scarce as well as medical care. We could add a lot more, but this aspect was very disappointing for us and detracted from our vacation.

Expérience fantastique: Travel Discounters did an excellent job of arranging and carrying out our long delayed trip to Egypt and Jordan. Our trip had to be rescheduled twice due to Covid. Originally we were supposed to also go to Israel but they extended our trip in Jordan and added sites there (Red Sea and Baptism Site of Jesus) since Israel has remained closed. In Egypt, the accommodations were quite lovely from the Ramses Hilton to the cruise ship. The staff in both were helpful and courteous especially at the Ramses Hilton restaurant. Our guides in Egypt were knowledgeable and helpful. In Cairo, Sahar helped us know what we were looking at, why it was important, and she protected us from the vendors! On the cruise, Hamada was the consummate storyteller - it was easy to follow from one site to the next how the history flowed. They were both considerate, accommodating, and helpful. I would definitely want them again if we were to return to Egypt. In Jordan, Kamel was reassuring and helpful. He made sure we knew what our options were, where to shop, and what was going to occur each day. The accommodations were very nice. Our guides, Saddam and Ahmad, were both excellent! It was easy to see they were passionate about what they were showing us. While the buffets were great and offered us a way to try different foods, we really enjoyed the local meals: the Egyptian BBQ or the maqluea or the Bedouin pit food or the ful. Overall, this long delayed trip was incredible. It was apparent that the people of Blue Sky and Bridge Travel were proud to be showing us their respective countries.

He made us feel comfortable and welcome from the first moment we saw him as soon as we got off the plane. I never once felt like I was confused or didn’t know what to do. He paved the way for a fantastic trip. He reached out to us every couple days to check in to make sure everything was going well. If I had been worried about anything I would’ve felt very reassured by his watching out for us! The guides were so fun, knowledgeable, helpful and brought history to life. Tut in Cairo was the PERFECT way to begin and end our journey - he is an inspirational teacher and we learned so much from him. He was a great joy and a blessing to be around. He taught us so many different parts of Egyptian history, culture and way of life. He is so charismatic and we felt like he is a good friend immediately upon meeting him. We enjoyed every moment of our time with him. Hamada in Luxor and on the cruise was excellent as well. He is a gifted storyteller and painted beautiful verbal pictures especially about the ancient gods and goddesses. I knew the basic stories of some of those but he brought them to life which is so amazing especially in a second language or perhaps third language for him. Both of these men made the trip! You could tell everyone in their area loved them – so many people stopped and gave them a big hello when we were going by. It felt like they knew everyone in town and everyone in town loves them as much as we did. They did what all good teachers do and they made you want to learn even more about the subject.Their Enthusiasm and love of Egypt is contagious. The drivers were fantastic and fearless especially in the awful Cairo traffic! Sheref was very helpful accompanying us to the airport upon our departure and waiting through all the different lines early in the morning. We arrived home last evening, tired from the long series of flights, but still exhilarated from the experience. We loved Kenya. The people were welcoming and we were treated like family everywhere we went. If there was a “downer” in the entire journey it would have to be the Nile River Cruise experience. Since the riverboat was "branded" as being a "Princess Cruise Ship", we were surprised, having had good experiences with "Princess " on ocean cruises. The dining was the worst of the trip. The staff did the minimum possible. Just getting a cup of coffee was more effort than ( it seemed to us and the others at our table) the half-filled cup was worth. We had laundry done and it was returned more wet than damp. We had to spread clothes around the room to dry them so we could pack. On the upside, viewing the rural Egyptian countryside from the ship was amazing. Seeing how the desert and the Nile are in constant struggle over such a narrow strip of tillable land was enlightening. The local guides in Egypt were excellent. Tremendously helpful and knowledgeable. That being a guide requires a degree from a four university shows how serious the Egyptians are about preserving their history. Our driver/guide in Kenya (Daniel) was amazing at spotting wildlife and driving simultaneously. He also had a great sense of humor and we quickly developed a rapport. The resorts (Lake Naivasha Sopa and Elewana Sand River) were very different, but both wonderful. Lodging, staff, location, dining, game viewing were all unforgettable. Zebras on the resort paths and giraffes in the yard were not uncommon, thus the requirement for an escort from dusk to dawn. We’d happily return to either. At Sand River, one staff member deserves special mention - Phillip was most attentive and personable. The "tents" we were lodged in take "Glamping" to a whole new level - beautiful. While COVID-19 added extra stress and forced radical itinerary changes, Travel Discounters and Pollman Travel went beyond any reasonable expectations is shepherding us through the ever-changing regulatory landscape. We’re forever grateful and would not hesitate to place ourselves in the hands of the professionals at either company. Here’s hoping we get a chance to do just that in the future. Once we landed in Cairo everything was organized and very professionally done by Blue Sky travel. We saw the highlights of Cairo, the pyramids, the Grand Bazaar, had a 4 day Nile Cruise and a visit to Abu Simbel. Our guide Kareem was phenomenal and exceptionally knowledgeable of Egyptian history. Also had Hamada, another great guide, during our cruise. We were never concerned about safety and felt comfortable the entire trip. Expérience fantastique: We just completed the 10 day Luxury Tour package of Egypt through Travel discounters (Blue Sky travel in Egypt). This is the first that I have written a trip review. The trip involved 3 days Cairo, 2.5 days in Hurghada on the Red Sea and a 4.5 day Nile cruise. While in Cairo we stayed at the Ramses Hilton, in Hurghada at the Marriott resort and the cruise was on the Sonesta Sun Goddess A detailed overview is as follows In the order that we did it: first afternoon was free to lounge in the pool area and later a traditional Ramadan dinner. IThe touring was as follows: Saqqara Step pyramids, visiting a traditional alabaster factory (about a half hour), Giza pyramids with camel ride, two days on Hurghadas white sand beaches and clear blue waters at the Caribbean-style Marriott resort (four wheeler safari in the desert and snorkeling- amazing); Nile cruise (visiting Luxor and Karnak temples on day 1 of Nile cruise, Visiting the Valley of the Kings, King Tutts tomb, the Temple of The Queen Hatshepsut on day 2, visiting Edfu and later in the afternoon the Kom Ombo Temple on Day 3 of the cruise, optional tour of Abu Simbel temples on day 4, and highlights of Aswan including a short journey on an Egyptian sailing boat, a stop at unfinished obelisk and an unexpectedly good journey by boat to the Philae Temple); with a final day in Cairo visiting the famous Egyptian museum with King Tuts artifacts, the citadel and Mehmet Ali mosque, Coptic Christian churches and synagogues and at the Khan Al Khalili Bazaar. Traveling during Covid presents many challenges. From the beginning, people at Travel Discounters were responsive by email and phone to manage these challenges. I worked with Akhil and Binod. Both assisted me with logistics issues and spent significant time designing the itinerary that I wanted during the dates that I wanted. Akhil even responded to me on his days off. Binod was very supportive even in the last moments when I did not think I would be able to get Covid results on time to travel. He gave me his personal cell number and told me to call him anytime that I had questions about the trip or Egypt. I will travel with them again. Blue Sky was well-organized and responsive in Egypt making sure that all parts of the tour went smoothly. Representatives of Blue sky were available 24 hours a day by WhatsApp, email and phone in each location. Using WhatsApp was simple from my US mobile phone. It would be very difficult to overrate the individual tour guides. During our time in Cairo we worked with a fluent English speaking Egyptologist named Tut (Tawfiq Shaer). He was hospitable, kind, engaging, knowledgeable, passionate about his country and ancient Egyptian history,accommodating and made our trip successful . When I go back to Egypt I will specifically request him. During the Nile cruise we had Ahmed Nagy another educated Egyptologist. He is Another pthat I would specifically request if I go back to Egypt. Ahmed has a more serious personality than Tut, but is highly knowledgeable, kind and has a penchant for organization and taking care of his group. Logistically this is the most complicated part of the trip with numerous pieces to put together ( timing, transportation, ticket purchases etc.). He managed this flawlessly - he did the worrying so that we did not have to. The accommodations were all five star. I was particularly impressed with the cruise which gave us a two room luxury suite. At each location food was included and was very good. Staff in all locations went out of their way to please: Magid (front Desk at Marriot), Yasser (wait staff at the Marriott), Mohammed (chef at the Marriot) and Samer the Blue Sky rep in Hurghada; Mahmoud, Ibrahim, Samy and Emad on the Cruise and Abd El Wahab who managed all logistics for Blue Sky in Cairo. The hospitality of the Egyptian people is amazing. This is balanced by some of the most persistent Street Merchants I have seen anywhere in the world.

Expérience négative: Booked a trip to Greece for the fall. Given the uncertainty around travel because of the global pandemic, I tried to cancel or rebook for a later date. Travel Discounters refused to cancel and charges a minimum of $800 to rebook. I had a separate trip to Panama scheduled with a different company and they were wonderful and very accommodating. If you book with this company, just understand that even in a global pandemic, you aren’t getting your money back.

After spending hours researching an African Safari trip I finally called and spoke with Akhil. I told him exactly what kind of trip I was looking for, where I wanted to go, what I wanted to do, and within 15 minutes I received 3 itineraries, one of which was exactly what I was looking for. The rest of the booking process went extremely well and smooth, from promptly receiving a quote through to booking the tour and flights etc. it’s not the simplest trip to plan and book but Akhil made it very simple. As for the trip itself, it was amazing. The tour companies they work with in Africa are top notch and everything went smoothly from being picked up on time from the airports/hotels, quality of accommodations, and quality of safaris. Before departure Binod was very helpful, answering all our questions immediately and to our satisfaction. Upon arrival we were met by Abdul before we got to the passport control, and he took care of all formalities at the Airport and hotel. Everything went very smoothly, our cruise was better than expected. Food was various and tasty, local drinks drinkable, except whisky. Stay away. By the way, drink package includes not only beer and wine, but also local hard liquor. Our tour managers Abdul and Ashraf were great and very helpful, made our life very easy. Cairo tour guide Maged was great. But Egyptologist on the cruise Yasser was beyond all expectations. Published author and TV show host he was absolute highlight of the tour. My wife was scared to go to Egypt, but turns out everything was absolutely safe. And, sightseeing is absolutely mind-blowing. Everyone we met was fond of USA and American people, very friendly and nice. I strongly recommend Travel Discounters Egypt tours!

We were met in Cairo and taken care of the entire trip. Hotels was beautiful, buses were comfortable and roomy, tours and tour guides were amazing. Never felt unsafe...cruise was perfect. Expérience fantastique: This was our second trip booked through Jackson at Travel Discounters in Toronto. The first was Africa and it was EXCELLENT. We did the Greece seven day bus trip (intense), three days in Athens, and three days in Santorini. As before in Africa, we were met at the airport to start our journey. Dimitria Papadopoulou was our guide for the seven days bus tour. She was knowledgeable (unbelievable so), courteous, and very patient with close to sixty people on the bus. There was the Thomas Cook travel company collapse which some of our group had booked through and she had to inform our fellow tourists and deal with that (ouch). We were covering a lot of territory and there were times the group did not get to spend as much time in a particular spot as desired. Getting to see so much of the country and learn its history was worth it. The only problem was the hotels provide a similar menu and food became monotonous. Finding some little Greek restaurant was an adventure and usually very good. Our driver was Kostas for GO Tours and his skill level with one of the larger buses was amazing. How we made it without any incidents in those streets and traffic can only be attributed to his abilities. These two people really made the trip great. Our three days in Athens included a cruise to three islands and a half day tour of Athens. The cruise was good, staff handled us well, boat crew was experienced, and the side trips were worth it. The half day tour of Athens was alright, but the tour guide George was awful. First was his presentation of his educational background to prove he was qualified. This was probably a method to cover up his traits of being a poor people handler and a person that blamed everyone else for problems. Second, he publicly called out a young man who needed a restroom. Third, his directions were unclear and he refused to answer people's questions to clarify. Santorini was our final destination for three days. We did an evening dinner cruise through Caldera Yachting on the boat Serenity. We loved the perspective of seeing the island from the sea. The captain and crew were excellent and the captain was a GOOD cook too. The next day was a bus tour of the island and the guide was good. The spots we saw from the water we now were visiting. We ended at Oia at sunset. We can say we have been there and done that. Overall the trip was superb. There was only one guide who was a problem. On leaving, our contact people, alerted us that Athens was going to experience a strike, and recommended we leave for the airport earlier. They picked us up at the new time and we missed the city shutting down. Jackson, you did a good job.

From the time we were met at airport to the time we were taken back to airport were always with an extremely knowledgeable guide. History was incredible our Egyptian history guide. Kareem very well educated , excited about his sharing his Homeland with us. This is a tour that was reasonable but first class.

Expérience fantastique: I used this company to tour Egypt and Jordan. It was fantastic service and the tour companies they utilized in Egypt (Blue Sky) and in Jordan (Bridge Travel) were top notch. I will use them again for my next trip if they provide the service to that part of the world, which will be Peru to visit Machu Pichu. They took care of everything and allowed me to do the airline upgrades in all my flights.

Expérience fantastique: Travel discounters did an incredible job of putting together an outstanding African safari and Victoria Falls travel package. All of our accommodations were first class. We had someone watching over our travel needs the entire trip. Our stay at the Shiduli Safari Lodge was a once in a lifetime experience. We had 4 safaris with our expert guide Evan's. We saw the big 5 the first day! The rooms were extremely comfortable and the meals were delicious. Victoria Falls was beyond belief. We saw both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides. In May the water level was at a high so the falls were raging. You must wear rain gear and water shoes because you will be soaked. Binod took good care of us. All travel materials were given to us upon booking so there were no surprises. The only negative is the flights to and from Johannesburg were extremely tiring between the long flights and long layovers. This trip was probably one of the top 5 trips we have ever taken. I would highly recommend it.
