Expérience négative: Unfortunately, my experience with this company was a hit or miss. My first trip in November 2023 was great & my family was content, so I booked my next Umrah for December 2024. I understand December is busy, but I paid for proper care. The group lead was inattentive, managing multiple groups, and barely available. The worst part—I was left alone on Jabal al-Noor at 2 AM, despite repeatedly asking the lead not to be forgotten. They didn’t offer much help afterward and simply advised me (a 24-year-old female) to Uber back to Mecca Tower alone. Thankfully, I made it safely, but they should have ensured better organization and headcounts. Each experience is unique but sadly my last one wasn’t unique in a good way and I was a bit disappointed.

Expérience négative: Terrible customer service. I emailed them several times about an Umrah package for April prior to booking and they stopped answering my emails. Next thing you know, I see that it’s fully booked and there’s a wait list. Do better and promptly address people’s questions and/or concerns. What a joke of customer service.

Expérience négative: I would not recommend this agency for any Hajj or Umrah trip. Last year we took one of their hefty price packages for Ramadan. We were very excited to go with a reputable group and see their hospitality. Aside from visa, ihram and a cab to the hotel the group did not provide any help once we were in Makka. We arrived in the fajer time and the hotel was not allowing us to check in, no help from the group. We had to find our own cab to go back to the airport, which was part of the package. They promised us zam zam water at the airport, but we did not receive it. Our guide basically ignored all our calls and messages. If all they can do is to reserve a hotel and leave us on our own, then we can do that by ourselves as well.

Expérience négative: I’m based in the USA and participated in Hajj 2024 and bought a package on Nusuk per Dar El Salam recommended packages, mine was with Seera, package TKV1. Everything was great during registration process and preparing for hajj. They do excellent job with webinars and educations. They assigned a guide and an imam to our group, setup a WhatsApp group to communicate, and made lot of big promises. Then on the day of travel, our package group received a message from Dar El Salaam saying they are no longer responsible for our package, and we are on our own with Seera. No explanation, no justification, no apology. Just pulling themselves completely out. Then the service provider “Seera” assigned us to a French group and we stayed under French guide the whole duration of Hajj. Very disappointed with Dar El Salam and their lack of accountability.

Expérience fantastique: I can't say enough about Dar-El Salam company for their Exemplary service and organization for our Unrah trip last year. It was an unforgettable experience. They go above and beyond for you. Our experience with them was that they went out of their way to make everything we wished for happen. They had a lot of nice and thoughtful gestures. For instance, once we arrived by bus to Madinah they had hot meals ready for each and everyone in the group. They brought phone company representatives to us in the airport upon arrival so we can buy new Sim cards with complete convenience. They gave each and everyone of the group a very nice quality prayer rug as a gift. And I can go on. I can only say God bless you for your wholehearted efforts in serving the visitors of Makkah and Madainah. We have been praying for you.

Expérience négative: Had the most awful experience with Dar el Salam Travel. We spent months listening to DST videos, following their group chats and announcements and purchasing a package through Nusuk that they advised would be part of their program. We were informed that we would be picked up from the airport and supported throughout the process. Unfortunately no one showed up at the airport and after much worry and run around we found our own way to the hotel. After following up our representatives at DST on the first day upon arrival we received a group message that our whole group had been dumped back to the service provider and DST had wiped their hands clean. From then on, no more messages were replied to, no more emails were attended to and all communications from DST seized. It was incredibly selfish and unprofessional and made our group of Hujjaj feel embarrassed and lost. For them to cut a deal behind the scenes with the service provider and not even have the decency to give us an explanation shows what sort of organisation they are. Be very careful when considering DST. I would suggest alternative companies or even booking directly with the Hajj service providers.

Expérience fantastique: Alhamdulillah went for hajj 2024 with Dar el Salam. It was a wonderful journey alhamdulillah, 10/10. From the start till the end, we had great guidance when booking packages and help was also available. The journey itself durng hajj was smooth, we had sheikhs who did lectures. We had doctors available if anyone got sick. Our camp at majar al kabsh was outstanding, food options were great with lots of options for drinks such as laban, several kinds of juices, milk, yoghurt, and soft drinks. The camps itself was nice and cool, it used to get warm during peak sun hours but ACs can't do much with makkah's heat. Washrooms were clean and we had unscented soap available as well as toilet paper. My fav part of the camp was the break room which was open 24/7 for snacks (cakes, bars, juices, instant noodles and many more). The break room also had coffee/latte machine and my favorite Karak chai machine. Alhamdulillah for the opportunity and may Allah bless the Dar el Salam team for providing the best service to the hajjis. JazakAllah Khair

Expérience fantastique: Wow I can't believe I had started my review before Hajj and never submitted. Alhumdulilah I went for Hajj with dst in 2023 and it was the best experience ever. The communication prior to the departure was very minimal so I was a bit concerned but Alhumdulilah our whole journey from start to end our guide was supportive, knowledgeable the package was great. They manage to navigate the disaster Nusuk with ease that shows their years of experience, knowledge and that it truly is worth it to go with them if you can. Now one year later I am going back with them for Umrah and taking my 12 and 13 year old. I would highly recommend dst and can't thank them enough for making our Hajj journey memorable. All my duas are with them always and forever.

Throughout Dar El Salam, the entire team and group leader (Azhar) looked after all of us with patience and smiles. I would highly recommend all my family and friends to travel for Umrah and Hajj through them. I can't wait to go back with Dar El Salam again Inshallah! Additionally, most recently I also had the opportunity to go alone with my mother without the group. We had chosen a different hotel (ZamZam Pullman Madina), which was little far for ladies to walk. To go to the women's prayer area, you must walk across the Masjid al Nabawi (about 10-15mins). My mother struggled walking between salahs. Dar El Salam not only chooses 5-star hotels, but also makes certain that they are all within walking distance of mosques for both men and women.

Expérience négative: Save your money and plan your trip on your own. This was my first time going for Umrah with kids and mom and decided to go with this company because they were highly recommended. However, they over promised and under delivered! Problem started right in the beginning when i had to request several times that my mom is in a wheelchair and therefore she needs an appropriate seat…not only was she not given her request but she was seated away from the rest of the family on both flights there and back - And no one would make the change - just bouncing the blame from airline to agency. I left emails and messages and no reply! Once they have your deposit you are at their mercy. And the tours they promised also didn’t exactly happen and described. We had 10 mins at Masjid Kuba and we basically waved from the bus to Masjid Qiblatain and other ziyarats- very disappointed with the tours! Its just better to book your own flights/hotels and a private tour guide - you’ll get what you want and save the hassle. Hotels on the other hand were great - Movenpick in Madina & Fairmount Clock Tower in Makkah.

The hotel we had in Makkah was very poor, too far from Haram and eating was always very rushed. They play favorites with some if they know them. Once they have your deposit you are at their mercy. Make sure you do your own research before you use them. Check all reviews on yelp, trust pilots, & other sites. Some of their reviews seem fake.

Expérience fantastique: Would absolutely recommend! Performed Umrah with them in Nov 2023. Zafar Iqbal took care of my group and he did so seamlessly. There was clear communication from the very beginning and they take care of everything including visas, flight/hotel bookings, and transportation. They definitely take on all of the stress so you can just step back and focus on your own spiritual experience. Both our hotels in Makkah and Madinah were optimally located. They even take our checked luggage separately as to avoid the stringent luggage requirements of the haramain train. Brother Azhar did an awesome job of going over the steps of Umrah before the trip. And he also was an excellent sightseeing tour guide of the historical sights in Makkah and was able to answer all questions with expertise. I also appreciated that Zafar took us on extra excursions which weren't on the itinerary and special shout out to him for all the sabr that he showed my aging parents on this trip. My parents having been raving about the trip to all their friends and also want to perform hajj with dar el salam in the future. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience for all of us and we cannot thank the dar el salam team enough!

Expérience négative: Very unfortunate that they don’t keep an eye on their tour guides or make sure that their “tour guides/imams/scholars” are actually doing their job. They had SH. Furhan Zubairi who was suppose to be with our group and we had three families who had never been to Ummrah before. Mr. zubairi brought his entire family khandan with him…wife, kids, elderly parents AND in laws. Not only was he too busy with his family to give us proper guide and tour but he made friends with another family in another group and during travels on the bus he would ditch our group and go on the other bus. We were left to fend for ourselves. Very very disappointed in this company as well as mr. Zubairi who used the tour for a vacation instead of helping those who have never been before to do ummrah properly. I will not use this travel company ever again for the prices they have and the tour guides they don’t regulate.

Expérience négative: This office staff is very unorganized and disrespectful to people who they are taking to Umrah , particularly if people wish to add their own desirable hotels and flights. They per force want you to go their way. Their choice of hotel in Makkah was very poor, too far from Haram and dinning room was another Marathon every morning. My best advice: Before you book sit down and calculate , assess everything yourself , they just want you pay the deposit so you are bound to pay the balance no matter what are you desired hotels. They will not change anything for you. Very unprofessional and showing anger/ emotional with the people they are taking as a group, like to do a favour to some if they have known them for a long time. Unethical practices while on this sacred journey. Very disappointed. The gentleman with the long beard who leads the group was taking everything so personal.

From receiving us from airport when we arrived on Madinah to dropping us to airport on way to coming back , every where there was different people to assist us. All were excellent , helpful, always present on time. only thing DST didn’t provide us was ziyarah on Makkah, which we did by ourselves. But with their exceptional service , I didn’t mind it. I first want to thank sister Sabiha, who assisted us in Canada office, a very nice lady, always reply my all the queries with smile, she is really excellent . Then I want to thank each and every one who assisted us , brother zafar, brother asif, brother Ahmed every one ( I am sorry I don’t remember all of their names) Special thanks to our group leader , Shaykh Saleh, excellent human being, always replied our messages, my doas for him, I wish to perform my next trip with Shaykh Saleh as well. At last I want to say , I want to travel with DST again and again, and I hope they maintain their quality. Thanks to everyone.

Expérience négative: This is a crooked organization. They take money from wayfairing pilgrims and do not deliver. They failed to provide me with the ihram which they said they would provide. I had to pay for my own private transport for a 6 hour journey to do the Miquat. My wife came after me and Sabiha explained that there would be someone to pick her up from the airport. This was another lie. I had to arrange for a private vehicle to transport her from Jeddah to Mecca for a woman travelling alone after a 23 hour journey. The same happened to my brother and his wife with failing to provide immunization records that they collected. I would urge anyone who is considering this company to find any other travel agency. They charge literally twice the price for if you were to book yourself and provide no service they promise. It is the basis of an unfilled promise which as we all know is against Islam. I normally do not write reviews. But as someone who has just completed Umrah and would only speak the truth - I speak only the truth and warn anyone from considering this company.

Expérience négative: This will be my first umrah and I had been referred by a colleague of mine to speak with someone from Dar Al Salaam. I do not have a mahram and wanted to join a group so I e-mailed inquiring about their February and March Umrah packages but didn’t hear back. Every time I’d contact Dar Al Salaam, there would be static on the line and every time but I pursued trying to speak to a rep. I filled out their documentation online, sent an e-mail and called about 4 different times with front desk who always took my name and number down and insisted I’d receive a call back. Needless to say, I never received any calls or e-mail back. On the 5th attempt, a front desk rep by the name of Mehta or Merra connected me with one of the reps Aarif and he provided an e-mail for me to get to try and contact him through. Aarif seemed very polite and gave the impression that he was willing to help arrange the trip. However, I was advised there weren’t many seats left for February and was basically advised I needed to hurry up and pay the deposit and submit the form. I indicated I didn’t feel comfortable rushing into submitting a deposit especially after having initially had such a hard time speaking to someone internally for more info. After replying to the e-mail, I never heard back. It appears the organization is either they're struggling with onboarding and managing accounts or aren't interested in people's business.

I am sure they care less for a 5 star review as they are dedicated group of people focused of helping people get the best experience for a trip of a lifetime however I am writing this for those people who are aspiring to perform umrah/hujj for the first time. As first timer, I was a bit skeptical and was asking lot of questions to Zafar bhai and he was answering them patiently :) Sometime answers were not coming as fast as I would like but that all changes as your departure comes within 3 weeks. You get everything in orderly manner and from the time you arrive in Jeddah, you will see how large and efficient setup they have. We were thoroughly impressed by their dedication and service. Special thanks to brother Azhar, brother Arif, brother zafar for their hard work. And last but not least the group religious leader shaikh Abdullah who was such a wonderful and passionate and knowledgeable individual to be around. While we were there, it felt like they work 24/7. If anyone had an issue or had a question, they dealt with it with utmost urgency. The price of the pkg was totally worth it. They have earned our loyalty. May Allah bless them and allow them to extend their service to many more pilgrims in years to come.

Transportation within Saudi Arabia was also arranged and it was really convenient and on time. They also took us on a tour of other important religious places in Makkah and Madinah and it was very informative. Phoned them again for an Umrah package, but could not be accommodated as the group package was full, however Bro. Yasser El Sabbagh wasted no time to customize an itinerary that suited our schedule at a very competitive price. Their ground staff coordination between Bro. Muhammed Asif in Madinah and Bro. Abdullah in Makkah is highly commendable and greatly appreciated. I was worried since my dad's older and may have a tough time since Hajj is physically challenging. However dar El Salam made it seamless and their hotel and mina camps are located at convenient spots not far from the Haram which made our walks to the masjid easy. The convenience and comfort they provide ensures you can devote all your time and energy to praying.

Expérience négative: The staff at this office is polite and seemingly professional, but the services they sell are questionable. If you used this agent 10 years ago, they were exemplary. Not anymore. Despite purchasing their best VIP package, we had several issues during our trip. The most serious one was that they dropped us at the wrong terminal for departure from Jeddah, and then abandoned us - did not answer or return our calls. The local contact numbers they provide are useless. In our desperate effort to avoid missing our flight, we approached the immigration officials who were extremely professional and helpful. Dar el Salam had dumped us and left us in a very difficult situation at the wrong terminal. Other issues: Upon arrival we were met by their agent who rented the smallest possible vehicle which could not even hold one piece of luggage each - a very uncomfortable drive to the hotel. They do not arrive on scheduled times to pick you up - sometimes almost an hour late, even for departure to the airport. The Mazarat tours included in the package constitute false advertising - they rush through a subset of the sites listed on their website. And the list goes on .... Overall, a terrible and unacceptable experience. We had been recommending this agent to our friends based on our past experience, but will likely not use or recommend them anymore because of what we experienced on this trip.

Expérience fantastique: This was a phenomenal experience, where all we had to do was show up and Dar el Salam staff took care of us from the moment we signed up, until we arrived home from the trip. The preparation before traveling was really informative and helped us as first timers, feel more comfortable. It helped us get ready and be in the mindset of Umrah. The WhatsApp group leading up to the trip was extremely helpful during our stay. With the hotels having wifi, it was almost not required to use additional data during our stay. The tours were really informative and gave us insight into the early stages of Islam. Visiting all the historical sites helped gain a better understanding of what it was like during the times of our Prophet SAWS. With the help of Dar el Salam, our stay in Madinah, helped us become better Muslims, and with their help, our stay in Makkah helped us strengthen our connection to Allah. The conferences both in Madinah and Makkah, really helped bind the entire experience and allowed us to really learn and bring those lessons back home with us. The dinner in Arafat was a pleasant surprise and "icing on the cake" towards the entire experience. The group leaders all deserve a special mention here, for without them, none of the experience would have been pleasant. They were very friendly and were always available to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be using Dar el Salam again, for all of our Islamic travel.
