Expérience négative: Contacted them for assistance with travel plans. Their office is only open until 5PM weekdays, so needed to leave several messages and communicate via email. Initially an agent told me that they would be away for 2 weeks, and would research for me when they returned. I had to follow up. Once I did, the info provided for hotel and flights was the exact same as what we pulled off of the websites ourselves. I was told they do not offer discounts, they only wave service fees for members, if they are RESEARCHING this info for you. I may have misunderstood, but I felt by reaching out to CAA as a member, I would be able to obtain further assistance with further discounts. Not the case.

Expérience négative: Our car died in the Soo, waiting for tow truck for almost 3 hours , no updates or contact from CAA dispatch or driver Weather is sunny and dry, I wish I could give less than 1 star Still waiting for tow truck and I received an email from CAA apologizing for the delay and an email to discuss with a CAA representative…… the link does not exist….surprise,surprise

Expérience négative: I purchased travel insurance thru CAA. Sadly we had to use while away in the states. It's been 4 months no payment to the hospital on the insurance end. Paper work and everything sent to company CAA sourced out. No help from CAA. All I was told was don't pay anything.

Expérience négative: Buyer beware!!!!! My car was written off in a 3 vehicle accident. I called CAA and was on the line for 20 minutes when they dropped the call. I didn't have the time to call back for more terrible service. They knew my number, where I was but never called back. Since no one was hurt no police came so I had to get pictures, names, insurance info, witnesses etc etc. When I needed CAA the most, and the only time I needed them, I was ghosted. But they sure took my money in a timely and efficient manner. I called to cancel my membership and received more terrible service. I was left on hold for so long I eventually just hung up. Multiple times. CAA you suck

Expérience négative: Have waited over8 hours for boost. No eta given, no contact or updates. An automated voice telling me a higher tha n usual call volume in my area? There is no weather event happening here and no major accidents . In a city this size everyone would have to be iin need service to justify this delay. I have had to cancel my requestt and will have to start all over. Disgusting.

Expérience négative: Cancelled my insurance over the holidays, by mail, DURING A POSTAL STRIKE. Then you have the audacity to hike the price up and I have to redo insurance ALL OVER. Screw you guys.

Expérience négative: This review is about CAA in general, while I just happen to live in The Soo. It's a warning to others in the Algoma Region at how ridiculous their dispatch & coverage network is set up. The fact that they lump Sault Ste Marie Ontario in with Southern Ontario boggles my mind. To be considered Northern Ontario you have to live in a place like Kapuskasing or Manitouwadge. I think somebody at CAA head office should go back to school and learn a little bit about geography and, moreover, demographics. Terrible dispatch service, I was going to have to wait ar least 4 hours (on a pleasant summer day likely because they can't find anyone to work for them, there was no way they were that busy) just for a battery boost. Managed to find a complete stranger to help me out within 15 minutes. Reconsidering my auto renewal, since moving to Sault Ste Marie from Southern Ontario the service is exponentially worse than it has ever been. Had service in Cambridge Ontario a few years back, waited less than an hour, and that was for a tow. Up here I've been told it could be 6 to 8 hours for a tow on a NICE day. Really not worth paying the same annual membership price as they do in Southern Ontario, for the service level it should be almost half. And certainly not worth saving three cents per litre at shell, any vendor savings just don't amount to much in the long run. And don't get me started on their insurance coverage, I've heard nothing but horror stories from people in The Soo that used to be with them when they had an automotive property theft claim & were denied.

Expérience fantastique: Staff here were very helpful in answering my questions and getting me set up for Canada and USA wide insurance for health & my vehicle needs. They had some really great packages I took advantage of and now am more confident in my ability to travel worry free.

Expérience négative: This review is about CAA in General, not this specific location. CAA is one of those companies you likely grew up familiar with, if you live in Ontario. That said, being familiar with them and actually working with them are two different things all together. While their rates were somewhat good, it should be interesting to note that how CAA corporate treats clients is deplorable. I'm a 45 year old client with a perfect driving record. No tickets, no claims, nothing. I was shocked in January to find out the insurance rate on my 18' Mazda 3 was going up, even though the vehicle was one year older. When I inquired why I was told it was, "due to inflation and losses from the previous year". Yep, CAA passing their losses onto consumers who've done nothing wrong. In addition to this, CAA has absolutely zero forgiveness when it comes to late payments. The second your payment goes NSF they hit you with a fee and send you a nasty cancelation letter through registered mail. My own policy with CAA was canceled, with no option to remedy, even though I made a manual payment the very next day when I had noticed the NSF occurred. CAA simply took what I owed from the manual payment I made and refunded me the rest, leaving me without insurance. Other insurance companies would at least give you some leeway to make the missed payment. Not CAA. Such a garbage company. Avoid them!

Expérience négative: Terrible service from caa dispatch. Unbelievable how rude and how uncooperative the call center agents where, ran out of tows, good thing for the final call under my membership, he ran out calls trying to get his car to the garage. The member is elderly and recently lost his liscence, and does not hear well or understand what is going on. The agent refused to let anyone else represent him. They where told time and time again that he is elderly. The first tow driver needed more training. The first driver was not that helpful at all. Ran out of calls on thier membership. Not even sure why we ran out of calls, nothing was done, the car never moved Nathan saved the day, excellent service Nathan..thank you for going over and above, even calling to let me know what the issue was. Nathan gets a full 5 star rating..even more for going over and above Nathan from caa/Pine Ridge towing Excellent service what caa should strive for. Thank you sir, merry Christmas

Expérience négative: I was not happy, to start1 with no one would answer the phone. When i went into store, no one greeted, i went to the counter, was ignored, there was a group of ladies standing in the middle of the floor talking, after standing at the counter, " a very busy" salesperson came to me and told me i was behind the group standing talking in the middle of the floor. I walked out, thanks but no thanks, if that was service, you can keep it. I,wanted to ask a question! You no longer are a travel service, you spend lots on advertizing, but it's not represented in your store. I just renewed my membership, but I'm thinking it's only for my car.

Expérience négative: I started having chest pains so I thought I better get checked out at our local Sault Ste Marie hospital when I had no chest pain. I spent three days in ICU and a stent inserted into an arterie near my heart. When I was released I was informed that I can not drive my car for thirty days by law from the dates of the stent procedure. I called CAA to get my car towed to my home and was told if the car isn't working they will tow it but not for my reason which was a heart attack and can not drive my car for thirty days. Was that right for CAA to turn me down?

Expérience fantastique: We are planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the East Coast and decided to visit the CAA for guidance.....best decision ever!! Very helpful staff, excellent suggestions, useful tools to take with us....you know, if I didn't know any better I would guess that the staff at CAA actually care about helping people get the most out of their travelling experience and keep them safe on their journey. Two thumbs up! (one would be hitchhiking, and that's definitely not safe)

Expérience fantastique: Excellent service. I bought a set of luggage at CAA and the zipper broke on one piece while on vacation. Upon returning I went into the CAA office to see where I had to ship the luggage etc. The luggage has a 10 year warranty. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I was told "just bring the piece in and we'll send it away and call you when it's retuned fixed." It was that easy and seamless. I recieved a call when it was ready and I just picked it up. Customer service at its best!
