Our Mexico City adventure was flawlessly planned, blending iconic landmarks with hidden gems we’d never have discovered on our own. After this journey, it’s hard to imagine exploring the world without their expertise guiding the way.

Fantastic experience: The trip far exceeded my expectations in every respect. The planning, hotels, locales, the guides and the first-rate service. As older travelers, it’s such an added bonus to have the local travel company’s reps meet you at the airport in the location described. The folks also helped us get our bags checked in and pointed in the right direction. Each of the 3 vans we traveled into each site was clean, well air conditioned, equipped with water and wipes. Plus, all of the drivers were engaging and timely. One of the determining factors I weigh when choosing a travel company is the quality of its guides. Servet in Istanbul, Faruk in Cappadocia, Bayhan (sp), in Antalya and Suleyman in Pamukkale, Ephesus and Izmir were ALL outstanding. It’s difficult to discern which place I liked best, although the utter uniqueness of Cappadocia was enchanting. All of the cave dwellings, the underground cities, and the views were spectacular. Of course, Istanbul was mesmerizing. The underground Cistern stood out as well as the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The ancient city of Perge outside of Antalya was stunning. This was our 3rd trip put together by Finisterra and we look forward to planning our 4th!

Fantastic experience: Keri and Nicola put together a fantastic trip to Turkey for me and a friend. The itinerary was perfect, hitting all the most interesting sites. The hotels that they chose for us were all excellent. They also arranged private drivers and tour guides that were just outstanding. The guides were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and were able to avoid the big tour crowds, allowing us to have a much more relaxed experience. This is the third big trip that Finisterra Travel has arranged for me and they have all been excellent. I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I would like to testify about Finisterra Travel, Nicola Wilson, and Keri Montgomery. My wife and I travel extensively and have used Finisterra for over 5 years. They have always planned the most fascinating travel. They are smart, very efficient, cost effective, completely familiar with all of the details of the trip, flexible….but most of all, funny. Finisterra has introduced us to the finest guides in the world, many of whom we are still friends with. They arranged our Turkey travel, twice. We loved our time so much that we went in the spring and returned in the fall. The hot air balloon over Cappadocia was a highlight. They planned my trip to Vietnam with my Vietnam Vet brother, and once again the guides were the best…especially the guide who drove with us south from Hanoi to Saigon and took us to the former Air Force base where my brother was stationed. They have arranged great guides in Rome and Florence. Recently, May 2024, they planned our trip to Albania with 4 other friends. We were there for 15 days, saw the country, experienced the real Albania…and our guide, Blerina Ago of Active Albania, was so knowledgable, so charming, so enthusiastic, and she was always surprising us with "adventures". We were live on Albania’s number 1 TV show talking about our experiences. Farm to table meals-check. Great tours by archeologists to the UNESCO sites of Berat and Gjirokaster-check. Hiking the national park-check. Great food and wine-check. Introducing us to Petrit, the owner of Alpeta winery in Berat, who is a real character-check. Harvesting muscles and eating them on the shoreline of a brackish lake-check. White water rafting and crossing a remote Ottoman bridge for hot springs and a dinner-check. Our trip to Albania was magical and Blerina, the guide, is now a good friend. Bottom line—Finisterra is our go to company for adventure travel.

Fantastic experience: Finisterra Travel planned the holiday of a lifetime for my family to Thailand. This was our first visit to Thailand and it was amazing!! We could not have asked for more. Every day of the three week holiday was incredible. The planning was so well done to accommodate all of our family’s needs. We had the most amazing experiences that we never would have planned if we had organized the trip on our own. We were travelling with two adults, an 18 year old and a 9 year old. It is not always easy to meet the needs of a family with diverse ages and interests, but Finisterra nailed it! We all loved every moment away, from out tropical paradise island stays to walking in the jungle with elephants, enjoying meeting locals, cooking classes and seeing the beautiful temples. Our tour guides were always available to help us get from place to place and were eager to teach us about the local areas we visited. We felt well cared for, comfortable and simply amazed by the beauty of Thailand and the talent of the travel planners at Finisterra Travel who made our holiday dreams come true.

Fantastic experience: The El Salvador Surf Camp was absolutely amazing! The whole process was easy, reliable, and seamless. Keri & Nicole are great communicators and answered all my pre-trip questions fast and thoroughly. They even recommended a ton of helpful info as we went a few days ahead of the camp. As for the camp itself, it is perfect. The rooms were lovely and big, the resort was beautiful, and the beach was so perfect. It was practically empty and the waves were perfect for beginners. The instructors were so helpful and the food was great. I HIGHLY recommend this experience, it's perfect for solo travelers, beginner surfers, and anyone looking for a great travel experience.

Fantastic experience: Finisterra Travel: We have been lucky to have been able to use Nicola’s travel company for two trips, Japan & Great Britain. Nicola did an excellent job in helping us with the itinerary as well as make suggestions as to what we might want to do when we were in the two different countries. When we went to Japan, the app that she provided us with was invaluable in making our way around Japan, since no one spoke any English. The information that Nicola provided for getting to the train stations and our hotels was a lifesaver. Nicola was always patient with us when we wanted to make changes to the itinerary. Fantastic experience: If I could give the Sherry Ott Surf & Yoga Retreat 10 stars, I would! The trip was a perfect combination of sisterhood (for reals!), physical challenge, relaxation, and escape from reality - which let's face it, we all need these days. Hotel Los Mangos is a little bit of heaven on earth, and the surf and yoga instructors were amazing - kind, patient, and inspiring. They helped create the perfect judgement-free environment so I could get out of my comfort zone and try new things! I'm convinced the only way to travel is with Keri and Finisterra Travel - no worries, great adventures, and total bliss!

Fantastic experience: Just back from a fantastic trip to Thailand. We stayed for a couple weeks at 3 different locations and had a variety of experiences (city tour, cooking class, snorkeling trip, massage, hike and cave exploration etc). It was great to have Keri and Nicola provide us with a bunch of different suggestions after understanding our needs and book everything for us! When we did have a few minor issues, they were on top of getting everything remedied for us. I highly recommend Finisterra Travel and plan to go on one of their surfing/yoga retreats in the future!

Fantastic experience: We used Finisterra Travel handle our family trip to Africa last Christmas. Our four children ages 20-28 joined us and the trip was truly a "Trip of a Lifetime!" We wanted to see a lot and over the course of 3 weeks we visited CapeTown, Kruger, Victoria Falls, and Chobe. Keri & Nicola organized a phenomenal 7 day tour of Marrakech, High Atlas Mountains and Agafey Desert for us. The tour was completely customized to match our needs and requests with excellent support from local guides and drivers. Street food tour, hiking in the valley, mountain biking and camping in the desert where all part of the tour. Fantastic experience: On a recent painting retreat with artist Laura Harris in Central Mexico, Keri from Finisterra was an absolute pleasure to travel with. She is funny, upbeat, knowledgeable and all-around awesome. The perfect tour guide! (the fact that she speaks fluent spanish doesn't hurt). I felt completely spoiled and so well taken care of on our trip, both at our gorgeous hacienda and as we traveled into nearby towns. I would recommend Finisterra in a heartbeat!

Fantastic experience: Finisterra organized a trip to the Galapagos and Amazon for myself, another teacher, and 18 Biology students. It was the trip of a lifetime for everyone. This was my second time using them and it exceeded expectations again. Keri was the perfect guide - fun, knowledgeable, and she went out of her way to make the trip special for each student. They put together an unbelievable itinerary and made the planning very easy for the teachers. I plan to use them again!

Fantastic experience: We used Finesterra to book a custom trip to Peru -- it was fantastic. Keri was very responsive and thoughtful when answering all of our questions and really created a trip for us that was nearly perfect in terms of content and pacing. The accommodations booked exceeded expectations in almost all cities. All of our multiple transfers, flights, trains and guides were highly organized with minimal hiccups. This was the most worry-free trip I've even taken. I'm already trying to decide where our next destination with Finesterra will be! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
