Fantastic experience: A great campervan. The van was just the right size. It had everything needed for camping and cooking. The price was great and it was a smooth experience picking up and dropping off. I eould rent again.

Fantastic experience: This is the only van you will ever need for your next camping trip in Banff NP. 2 weeks in August 2024 It was our first time sleeping in a campervan. And I must say, I don’t miss sleeping in a tent anymore hahaha. The bed is very comfortable, plenty of room for both me and my husband. It is so convenient, that we just pull in the camp site, able start cooking right away, changing is so easy in the van. We experienced rain for a few nights. Sleeping in the van made it so safe and comfortable. At certain campsites, we just drove the van to cooking shelter and drove to showering building. Changing in the van is so comfortable too. Everything that is needed for an enjoyable camping trip is there : cooking utensils, cups, dishes, .. even a refrigerator, 2 chairs, blankets. Every setup in the van is well thought out. We had a wonderful time in the van for the entire 13 days with no problem at all. If there is one thing needs to be done, it will be the curtain. I would definitely recommend to all my friends.

Fantastic experience: Rented a van for 1 week with my girlfriend to explore bc middle of august 2024. I have nothing but good things to say about the van and the experience. If you’re looking for a good road trip experience and don’t want to spend a fortune on an rv or larger converted van this is the place. Michal includes everything you need to camp off the grid. Unlike other spots where basics are an added rental fees such as stoves, utensils etc. The vans are set up great and are easily set up for sleeping in a few minutes. From the moment I booked the van to pickup and drop of everything was seamless, Michal and his staff are great to deal with, explain everything in detail, happy to answer any questions you may have and will help you plan your trip or give you pointers if you have something planned already. Fantastic experience: My Candian Rockies experience was only made as amazing as it was because of Smile Campervans! Michal helped me live out my #vanlyfe dreams by providing an easy to drive car with all the camping essentials. He was very responsive and attentive to my questions and concerns prior to the trip and made pick up / drop off very easy, even after our plane to Calgary was delayed. We got to explore 5 Natl Parks in Canada and 1 in the states. The van was reliable and never gave us any problems. Would definitely rent from them again if ever in the area.

Fantastic experience: Me and my boyfriend rented a camper van for 10 days in June and it was one of the best experiences we ever had. The van had everything we needed and we didn’t encounter any issues. Michal was very friendly and helpful (with advice about the van but also for the hikes we were going to do). He was always quick to reply to any of our questions and the rental process was very easy.

Fantastic experience: We booked the van on the same day, so we were super last minute and lucky. The van was amazing and has everything you could need to cook; we made some great dinners there. And the bed was so comfortable. Some of my best nights of sleep. It’s also small enough to park anywhere so you dont need to plan around that like you would with an RV. Michal is also so kind and helpful. Will definitely use the company again!

Fantastic experience: Great experience! We rented for six days. Communication was easy and clear, Michal is really nice and helpful, and the van was well equipped and clean. We ended up with a rooftop tent since that was the only van left, but regardless I'd recommend it as it makes the trip more comfortable!

Fantastic experience: The car ran faultlessly and was fully as described! We give a 5, although we expected more time to be taken at collection to ask questions about the journey and the blog recommendations. The collection was rather under the time pressure and did not allow for our concerns to be addressed before we set off. Also, the agreed pick-up time was not met and we had to leave 2 hours later than planned. Nevertheless, the most important part, the car, was first class and we highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: What a great simple way to see all the sights! Perfect place to pick up your van in Canada and go and see anything and everything we went to Montana first then traveled back to Canada through Jasper and Banff. I felt good to know that if anything happen Michal would be helpful. The van was clean and worked well the only thing to be honest that was a pain and that was probably for my lack of knowledge was the cooler in the back. It wasn't staying on and things would get warm. So make sure yo get a complete tutorial and Michal make sure it is working because we did what you said and it was wonky. Sorry bud that's the only thing I have to complain about. The privacy shades worked though the back one needed to be reinforced to much movement back there caused the paper shade to give way, not holding up in the back. But such a minor thing who cares it worked I rigged it and that's that I am sure he replaces them as needed because they are a lil flimsy. Other then that Michal and his crew are laid back chill and really no issue dealing with them. Would definitely use them again. Thanks so much Michal and Smile Camper van!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I hired a smile campervan for 16 days through the Rockies. Michal was great throughout, very friendly, easy to contact via email and happy to answer any questions. We could fit one large and one small suitcase in - wouldn’t recommend any more for rooms sake, but Michal was happy to store luggage if we needed it. The van was very comfortable to sleep two, easy to use and drive, and a super convenient way to travel and camp. We got lots of impressed comments from people passing by! Would happily book again!

Fantastic experience: We wouldn’t have traveled the National parks any other way! So much of the park to explore without wasting time driving to/from a “home base.” Had everything we needed & more so we could just drive straight from the airport.

Fantastic experience: We rented a van for a five day camping trip to Jasper and area. We had a 2012 van and it was excellent to drive and well-maintained, with good tires and wipers (needed in highway speed thunderstorm downpours), and had a surprising amount of power: we did not lag behind on hills. The back kitchen area was practical and when we were loading up a few groceries a couple of times we had strangers comment on what a smart setup it was. I think it makes a huge difference that this business grew out of the owners' enthusiasm for camping this way. They even went off camping while we were away: the setup is born from their experience. We'd rent it again for sure. We were a little unclear on pickup and drop-off times and if I can make a suggestion, I'd like to see that added to the FAQs on the website for others. The owners were good to deal with, too. Also: you cannot stay in a hotel this cheaply.

Fantastic experience: Very comfortable beds. Well equipped vans, everything you need to cook, refrigerator was perfect size and icy cold. Bedding was plenty warm for 35F night temps. We are older travelers 60+ and found vans very comfortable, easy to drive and park, also efficient on gas.

Fantastic experience: Michal was awesome at explaining and everything, great vibe from the owner!! The van is more than spacious, I am 6'1" tall with wide shoulders and i never felt claustrophobic while sleeping in, we had planned to maybe sleep a night or two in hotels to split the bad nights but never had to do it because the bedding was super comfortable and we slept enough.... except the mornings we decided to wake up early to admire sunrises directly from our "hotel room" the only downside i found with the van is that taking time lapses videos is very hard as everyone come to take a peek inside the backside and are impressed with it ( as much as we were!) so you have a lot of editing to do on your videos to have good ones hahahaha We drove 1560 kilometres in the van from calgary to kelowna back and forth and had a great experience, i definitively recommend to book with them!

Fantastic experience: We had a great vacation in Banff, Lake Louise, and the Okanagan Valley in the van. We slept there for 8 nights, the bed is large, comfortable, and the blankets are warm. Everything is included, super convenient and very quick to set up/take down. We brought a small Italian coffee maker from home but everything else was provided.

Fantastic experience: Can recommend Smile Campervans. The car was in great shape and relatively new! The way the campervan is organized is great. The bed, small kitchen, clean linnen, chairs, it all made for very good camping. I normally don't leave reviews but I think this company deserves one.

Fantastic experience: My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids ages 10 and 12) utilized a Smile Campervan to explore Banff, North Cascades and Glacier for 2 weeks this summer and had the most amazing experience! The kids slept comfortably in the rooftop tent. The interior bed was comfortable and spacious as well. The interior bed folded in/out quickly and easily. The rooftop tent was easy to open/close as well. It took under 5 minutes to close it all up in the mornings. The campervan was fully equipped with everything we need to camp, cook, hang by the fire and enjoy being outside together. The van was great on gas, drove great and since it is a van fits in regular parking spots. The van was very clean as well. Michal had great communication. We honestly had the best time and cannot wait to go back and use Smile again!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant trip with our Smile Campervan. Michal was very friendly and helpful during the collection and drop off process. My girlfriend and I used the van for 11 nights in Banff and Jasper. The van came fully kitted out with kitchen items, bedding and various other useful items such as bin bags and gas for the stove. Overall made the trip really easy to get settled in. We also loved that this company put a huge amount of effort in to maintaining a guide on their website with helpful info such as campgrounds, things to do and packing guides. Also they have recently posted a YouTube guide for their vans which is handy. As this was our first trip to the area and camping in a van, this was extremely helpful. Would absolutely recommend checking these out if you are thinking of using the company. Overall would definitely recommend Smile Campervans!

Van had all the basics we needed (with the exception of a coffee maker) and did great on fuel. Rented for 10d trip through Banff, Jasper, and Yoho. Mileage allotment was more than sufficient.

Fantastic experience: Just the right balance! There are a lot of higher end options that will cost you a lot more, and there are some sketchy lower end options too. Smile Campervans was perfect for our needs and we saw a lot of very beautiful places in our van.

Fantastic experience: The van was in excellent condition and well equipped. We spent one week with temperatures down to -2°C in the night, which was ok with the bedding supplied and some warm outdoor clothes. The size of the vehicle is great to access any site in the Park. The price compares favorably to other accommodation options and is much more comfortable than a tent with a rental car - plus all the equipment is already there. Michal and his girlfriend were helpful. To plan your trip and before you book the van, do spend the time reading Smile's blog, it is well documented and thorough, this will avoid unpleasant surprises "down the road".

Fantastic experience: Rented a Dodge Grand Caravan for 16 day roadtrip in the Rocky Mountains and it was perfect. Car was ready and just cleaned when we arrived at the location. Michal gave us a great welcome and your of the converted van. Price is great and cheaper than the big company's. Car comes with blankets, extra fleece blanket, stove with one full propane gas tank, two foldable chairs, foldable table, and evrything you need to cook. You will have all the things you need for a great camping trip! Michal is very kind and will be happy to give you tips or more information. Good communication beforehand and while on the trip. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Rented a Smile Campervan for 10 days to travel to and within Banff, Yoho and Jasper Nationalpark. Not only did we enjoy the fully equipped car for our camping trip but also did many people compliment us for the great set up on our way! Due to the current airport delays they unfortunately did not offer airport pickup/dropoff, but it also an easy Uber / Taxi ride from the airport (probably around ~30$ each way). We loved all the Accessoires the van came with (cutlery, plates, cooking utilities, little lights etc.)! Definitely would rent from Michal again and can only recommend!

Positive experience: The Dodge Grand Caravan was perfect for our trip through the Rockies, although we changed models twice before arrival. This also affected the pick-up time, as it wasn't available until the afternoon (forcing us to adapt our day's plan). A discount from Outdoorsy that was not applied, a request for compensation for the lost time that also went unfulfilled... Still, a good rental option at a more competitive price than other larger companies.

Fantastic experience: We had a great time in the Canadian Rockies with the Babybear Campervan. It doesnt need lots of gas, the handbuilt kitchen is super pleasant to work with and the bed is cozy. Can recommend Michal and Smile

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time in the rockies thanks to Michal and his van. He was very friendly and easy to deal with. Being a Dodge Grand Campervan, the car is very (very) spacious, very comfortable when cruising and does not drink gasoline like crazy. He has done a great work furnishing the van, especially the bed which is retractable, leaving plenty of space for our backpacks and to eat/chill during the day. It had everything we needed for camping (cooker, electric chill bin, cutlery, pots, etc.). Just a quick stop at Walmart for beers and food and you are ready to go. Can’t recommend it enough compared to other offers usually at higher prices. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: Had an awesome camping trip around Banff, Yoho and Kootenay thanks to this van. It included everything we needed to be comfortable both on the road and overnight. Pickup and dropoff was easy. Great on gas and the built in GPS helped with the areas of the parks with no cell signal. I can't recommend this van enough if you are in the area and plan to do some camping.

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I rented the van for about 3 weeks in the summer and went all the way from Calgary to Vancouver Island and back. The trip was amazing and so was the van. It has everything you could ask for for a basic, but still very comfortable experience. The van easily fits two people and even the bed was long enough for „taller“ people (1,90). Maya and Michal also were amazing and gave us some of the best, most valuable tips before we headed out into the Rocky Mountains. As we were looking specifically for an affordable and mobile option (we were so happy not to have to park a huge rv/ motor home every night) this was the perfect choice for us. We can’t wait to get back and wouldn’t hesitate to rent from smile campervan again. Thank you Michal and Maya!

Fantastic experience: We rented a van from Small Campervans in September for a road trip in the Rockies and BC. Such a great experience, the van was very functional and clean, with a comfortable bed, storage, double gas cooker, electric cooler, a sink for dish washing and USB plugs for phone or camera recharging. Fantastic experience: We hired a campervan from Smile Campervans in June, spending a fantastic 9 days in the Rockies. The vehicle was a dodge caravan that had been cleverly converted with a fold out bed in place of the seats. The boot had been kitted out with fridge stove sink and storage space. The details had obviously been thought about down to washing up liquid, scourer, cooking utensils, gas for cooker, pillows blankets etc. The car drove really well and was really comfortable. We did about 2000km in 9 days but it felt easy. This is a compact camper so is best suited to those who want to be mobile. You appreciate the advantage of that when you see someone "trying" to park the big bulky campers! From a price point of view it also made the trip affordable. Michal and Maya were really friendly and helpful. They also didn't quibble over a couple of small things we accidentally broke. If we come back to the Rockies which we would like to we won't hesitate to use Smile Campervans again.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I were able to get away for a holiday in Calgary, and wanted to be adventurous with our time. With Banff National Park (and many others) only two hours away, we knew that camping and hiking were definitely on the list. Over the preceding weeks, we researched several methods of accommodation for our stay, including resorts, hotels, hostels, and tent camping. While there were many options available and many price ranges, none seemed to fulfill our objective of quickly travelling from place to place while getting out in nature at the same time. (Note: There are buses that run frequently in many of the National Parks, but each have a cost, sometimes a horrible queue, and will only take you to the “main” trails. So getting to certain trails/locations could be quite difficult.) Then we found Smile Campervans and all of our boxes were ticked. The campervan was affordable, doubles as transportation and accommodation, easily/comfortably fits two people with two checked backs, and comes with everything you need to drive, sleep, cook, clean, entertain, and relax. As a bonus, the campervan constitutes a standard vehicle and not an RV, so you have so many more options for parking at campsites. And with the super easy clean-up/pack-up of the campervan, we were able to stay on the schedule that we had set for ourselves to maximize our stay. Smile Campervan surpassed every expectation we had for our trip to Calgary/Banff. The prices were transparent at the onset, fair/comparable to alternative methods, and true to their posting when our trip was complete. The owner was incredibly communicative and very nice. When we first met for the pick-up, he spent his personal time helping us plan our hikes for the long weekend to ensure we got the most out of our trip. Our pick-up and drop-off times were seamless, and the owner even offered to transport us to our next hotel so that we didn’t have to take a taxi. The campervan was very reliable on the road, pristine condition on the outside/inside, and served every purpose we needed. Our only regret is that we weren’t able to stay longer, the National Parks are breathtaking. We absolutely recommend Smile Campervans to anyone looking to get away in nature. In our opinion, there is no better option if you are trying to quickly move from place to place, explore less-known trails/location, and get out into the wild. We hope to come back soon to rent from Smile Campervans again. Thank you for helping make our trip so wonderful!
