Negative experience: Beautiful country. Too many planned roads, we would have preferred to have more time in certain places rather than getting back behind the wheel right away. About 4000km in 3 weeks in an RV. Very disappointed with the activity proposals, not suitable for our son's age, 6 years old. Bad family experience. (Regarding the activity, a girl of about 14 years old also had to leave the boat)

Positive experience: Good company for those who prioritize price. 'Experts' are not experts at all, very young and without much experience. Knowing only partially what they offer and not taking care of the details at all. We have to review everything ourselves point by point and check the ferry schedules, site openings, tides, etc., and ask them to make the necessary adjustments. Suggestions for cheap hotels with no atmosphere, little planning of what to do or see. After a 1-month road trip, we returned without having seen 'Authentic Canada.' What a shame. In short, a click & check company that with a bit more investment in AI (already at the current state) could easily do without all its 'experts.'

Negative experience: Run away! Don't count on them to help you. Used to book a rental car from a provider (AVIS) months before our trip, we received an email the day before (while we were already on site and with a busy schedule) indicating that our car would be 4 to 5 hours late. After calling to verify the accuracy of this information and to avoid going there for nothing, we were told to go to the agency anyway, that we would be upgraded. FALSE! Upon arrival, we were offered another vehicle but we would have to pay for the 'upgrade' or wait for the infamous vehicle. Result: here we are off for 5 hours of waiting with luggage and a backpack, (you might think they could take the opportunity to make a tour, but that would underestimate the Matéo and the somewhat shabby and ordinary commercial area that we have all around us). Conclusion: Difficult company to reach and perfect for wasting your time.

Fantastic experience: Car rental: pick-up of the vehicle in downtown Halifax at a hotel, return at Halifax airport. In both cases, great service: no extra fees, free upgrade, warm welcome, very quick vehicle pick-up and return. Very advantageous prices. I recommend for vehicle rental.

Fantastic experience: We came to pick up our vehicle a day early by mistake. That day, many people were unhappy because the rental companies had no vehicles available, even though reservations had been made online six months in advance. The person at the counter explained to us that there had been delivery issues with vehicles for the three different rental platforms. To avoid any problems, we returned the next day two hours before our appointment to ensure we would get our vehicle for our road trip across Canada. To our great surprise, we received a free upgrade, as there were still no vehicles available in the category we had reserved. We ended up with a high-end electric vehicle, which was more comfortable. I am completely satisfied with the commercial service and the professional attitude of the seller who managed the situation with a lot of courage, especially after the difficult day the day before.

Fantastic experience: I went through AUTHENTIK for the car rental. Very professional. Everything went smoothly regarding the documents and the information provided by the site. The rental with Avis was a bit less pleasant but that's another issue.

Negative experience: In preparation for our upcoming trip to Canada, we were looking to rent a car and visited the Authentik website, which offered us a vehicle for the price of €993 for 19 days. By the time I made an internal transfer to fund my account, I couldn't confirm the order on the same day, and I logged back in the next day, having received an email from Authentik urging me to confirm the rental in the meantime. SURPRISE, the price for the same vehicle, for the same period, had risen to €2,600! I replied to Authentik's email asking for an explanation, and all I received today was an email from the same person asking if I needed help confirming this rental!!

Negative experience: Very, very disappointing experience with Authentik Canada, not to mention the prices charged that could justly warrant good service (about +40% compared to actual public prices with taxes) and not counting the negative performances of some partners. No transparency on the quote, take it or leave it, no reflection period, no arrangements proposed, no discussion or commercial counter-offer from Authentik. Never seen that. No interest, no support! Thank you very much! We made this choice to avoid managing things and to offer ourselves the trip of our dreams, but we received no support from Authentik Canada, neither in the preparation in April 24 nor during in August 24 with Alyssa: No preparation advice, everything is available on the website or will be in the Roadbook you'll receive at the last moment, you find the information yourself, no help to find accommodations in Acadia on August 15, fundamental to our trip noted as early as preparation in April, and this despite the intervention of a so-called 'manager from Authentik Canada' who confirmed to leave us in our own troubles despite finding accommodations ourselves instead of being managed by Authentik Canada. Services ordered but canceled because no longer available without explanations and without proposed upgrades on the Airport/hotel transfer ($110 requested instead of a $47 taxi but I was asked for an extra $110 to find a solution!). Bookings poorly made or half-made like at the C3 hotel in Quebec, for example, which had not received the booking for parking (and this was not the first time according to the hotel) which we reported to Alyssa but she did not intervene by reminding the hotel to find us a solution (there are more expensive parking lots further away) or the rental car that charges you for the second driver while Authentik Canada normally includes the spouse! Booked services but poorly planned on the route like CIMEAVANTURE 140 km from the hotel in PERCE on our route but from the following hotel a day later that we had to rearrange ourselves by managing directly with CIMEAVANTURE to avoid a back and forth to the PERCE hotel of 280 km to pass in front a day later. The first step in Montreal of half a day upon arrival is of no interest (too short) with the car rental pick-up in the city 2 km on foot with the luggage from the Best Western hotel. It would have been better to start directly in Quebec with the car pickup at the airport. Cancellations of partner services before and during when I asked Alyssa to check and inform us to organize but she did not intervene with the providers (due to the storm in Canada in August) like the ferry in GODBOUT which we had to reschedule ourselves with the provider. What's the use of taking a travel agency? To pay and then be told afterward that it was canceled, manage it yourselves directly? Does that really have value or is that called another practice? Also beware of cancellation conditions that even with the 'cancellation plus offered' option, after 72 hours they will still withhold 20% regardless of the reason, never seen that either! The polite responses are always the same but without proposing anything 'We are really sorry that you are dissatisfied but we remain available if you have any other questions,' thanks but that doesn't help, do your job!

Negative experience: We recently rented a vehicle through this agency for a trip to Canada. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short due to extremely difficult circumstances: my partner was urgently repatriated due to a double fracture of the feet, and I lost my father during this same trip. Despite this exceptional situation, the agency refused to refund us for the unused rental days, on the grounds that the contract could not be modified once opened. What is even more disappointing is that, although we informed the agency that our insurance would not cover this situation, they showed no empathy or flexibility. They referred us to their general conditions without even considering a commercial gesture, even though it is likely that the vehicle was re-rented during the peak tourist season. The lack of consideration for clients going through such difficult times is deeply shocking. We will never go through this agency again, and I strongly advise anyone against using them. Moreover, it is undoubtedly much more interesting to go through the rental company directly than through them: we had made the opposite choice because the rental company no longer had a vehicle directly. We are planning a second trip to Canada next year but it goes without saying that we will never go through Authentik Canada again.

Positive experience: The car rental experience was excellent. Adeline from Authentik was impeccable regarding communication, responsiveness, and kindness: thank you to her. Everything that follows only concerns Avis: We had to wait 45 minutes before getting the car... the return of the car should then be adapted for free (being able to return it after as much time as we waited). It was not a Hyundai Elantra but a Toyota Corolla. Luckily, we had 2 medium suitcases and 1 large one because otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to fit all 3 suitcases (3 suitcases indicated on the site... so watch out for the suitcase dimensions). Otherwise, the return was done easily (a smile and a less annoyed tone from the employees would be appreciated... especially from the lady). The car is very pleasant to drive, was clean, and had a full tank...

A customizable road trip from the choice of vehicle to the choice of accommodations, everything is adjustable (and the navigation on the site is intuitive). The roadbook provided after booking is a true travel bible. Our advisor was available and efficient in the rare cases we had to contact her. No unpleasant surprises. If we have to go back to North America for a new road trip, we will work with them again without a shadow of a doubt.

In my case, there was a small hiccup when renting the car, and I can tell you that I was more than happy to have Authentik Canada by my side (especially Marine who supported us from A to Z). She knows her job, she listens to you, she follows up, she calls you back, she sends you emails, and she acts as an intermediary with the provider. Wow!! You feel like a VIP, and we are thrilled that everything went so well; I really don't regret it. If I had to do it again, I would trust them with the entire trip, completely blindfolded, and if you expand to other countries, I'm with you!! Thank you, Authentik Canada, thank you, Marine. The 'customer service' in its true sense still exists; Authentik Canada proved it to me, it's unfortunately very rare, but they can boast about having real customer service!! I wholeheartedly recommend this service! As far as pricing goes, they are very competitive for vehicle rentals, and the service is on point, as well as the organization for everything. Even though in hindsight we would certainly have adjusted a few points, overall it's a big thank you for the organization. The activities at the 5-star farm were great, the people we met (guides, servers, cooks, members of the organization) were all very kind and attentive. A bit disappointed with the city of Montreal but very happy with the city of Quebec. Regarding the activities for visiting the cities, I still recommend preparing everything well in advance because there were times we searched a bit for what to visit to avoid unnecessary travel, but it ultimately comes down to each person's choice based on their preferences and the organizer's advice.

Negative experience: Worst car rental experience of my life. 3 hours of waiting at the rental desk (Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty group) while other rental companies were operating normally. Vehicle clearly prepared in a hurry and poorly cleaned: the front AND rear cup holders were all sticky with dried sweet coffee, dirty mud carpets... it’s shocking. Authentik Canada does not seem to adequately 'manage' its suppliers and seems satisfied with that, showing no regard or empathy for its customers. Very disappointed with this second experience with this tour operator.

Fantastic experience: Ravie d'avoir utilisé ce site pour faire ma location de voiture de Montréal à Québec pendant 11 jours. Tout s'est bien passé même si j'étais légèrement réticente à la location (par rapport aux notes de la succursale...). Je recommande Authentik Canada pour la location de voiture, et le bon rapport qualité prix.

Le Québec est une région du Canada merveilleuse, les paysages sont splendides et les habitants très accueillants. L'Ontario est grandiose et démesuré, on se fait tout petits quand on circule dans les grandes villes que sont Ottawa ou Toronto. L'organisation du voyage était parfaite, il n'y a eu aucun accroc, toutes les réservations se sont bien passées, et les informations pratiques du roadbook nous ont été très utiles. Merci mille fois Alyssa pour ton travail. Le seul petit bémol, puisqu'il faut quand même qu'il y en ait un, est la fermeture de nombreux établissements (restaurants, musées, attractions...) lors de notre séjour, mais c'est la période qui voulait ça (fin octobre-début novembre), et il y a tant de choses à faire et à voir que ces petites déceptions ont été vite oubliées. We really enjoyed the beautiful autumn colors!---------- A superb 3-week journey practically tailored based on the 'Canadian treasures' circuit thanks to the very clear and practical website and our advisor Karolane to finalize: from Montreal to Toronto through the parks of Gaspésie, Mauricie, Mont-Tremblant... but also Ottawa, the Thousand Islands, the Saguenay fjord... with sightings of whales and bears and on the way visiting the Omega Animal Park... A very complete and practical roadbook. The advice provided is important but should be complemented by travel guides for certain activities and dining. A good pace with a few slightly long stages but it is necessary to go through there: - Notre Dame du Portage: 1 night (long drive from Montreal) - Escoumins (Bay of Chaleurs): 1 night - Percé (Bonaventure Island cruise): 1 night - Gaspé (Forillon Park): 1 night (this stage deserved 2 nights) - Gaspésie Park: 2 nights - Les Escoumins (whale safari): 2 nights - Baie St Paul (bear watching): 1 night (note: bear watching can end after 4 PM then quite a long drive to Grandes Piles) - Grandes Piles (Mauricie Park): 2 nights - Mont Tremblant (mountain, lake, and park): 2 nights - Ottawa: 2 nights (see Omega Park on the way) - Kingston (Thousand Islands cruise): 1 night (see Fort Henry in Kingston) - Niagara Falls: 1 night (see Niagara-on-the-Lake and Fort George) - Toronto: 2 nights (using the Sightseeing bus with a 48-hour pass and a cruise in the islands facing the city) GPS rented with all pre-recorded destinations (sometimes a bit off upon arrival!? but we always found our destination by cross-referencing with the vehicle's GPS...). Round trip flights with Air Transat, no issues (don't forget your headphones; otherwise, it's chargeable on board!). Almost new SUV type vehicle (Jeep Compass) rented from Thrifty with vehicle pickup in Montreal (Convention Center) and drop-off after more than 4000 km in Toronto (Union Station): note that all declared drivers must be present at the vehicle pickup to sign the contract!? no attempts to sell services or insurances not mentioned, on the other hand, drop-off fees are much lower than announced on the site ($100 instead of $400)... good news to start the vacation! Additionally, the gas was filled up for free contrary to what was advertised on the site (tank to be returned full of course!). All accommodations were of quality, well-located especially in Ottawa and Toronto, diversified from very family-friendly B&Bs to large hotels passing through a few chain establishments. Always a very warm welcome especially in hostels... and gargantuan breakfasts (small for us!)... The Natakam Condos are very pleasant apartments with fully equipped kitchens, and a superb view of the St. Lawrence. The Mont Albert lodge is also a very comfortable establishment ideally located within Gaspésie Park (remember to ask for picnic bags, very complete for lunch during hikes). All planned activities lived up to our expectations: whale safari, bear watching, boat cruises in Percé, the Thousand Islands, and the Niagara Falls. It should be noted that the nature parks with paid entries are very well arranged and maintained, the paths well marked and signposted, with very clear documentation available in the discovery centers. In short, perfectly successful holidays!

Fantastic experience: Very satisfied with the intermediate service for renting a vehicle from Hertz-Thrifty. However, the Hertz-Thrifty assistance service was strictly unreachable during a serious issue with the rented vehicle. Each time varied atmospheres as we wished. A change of scenery despite speaking the same language. Freedom and time for our own discoveries combined with a highlight activity just suggested by our manager at each spot. Impeccable. Neither too much nor too little. Also, the Roadbook helped us A LOT, we were immersed in it all the time! Super well-constructed, well-introductory, great suggestions for our free enjoyment, invaluable time savings... and the fact that the first experiences were okay, we only used the Roadbook as a guiding reference for our activity and restaurant choices! Impeccable car! Organization before and during was okay, accommodation was okay, fantastic Roadbook, quality within our budget, touching kindness and discreet presence, professionalism and listening, knowledge of must-see places and subtle suggestions of spots a bit off the heavily tourist paths. Top Authentik Canada!

Fantastic experience: Authentik Canada m’a bien accompagné pour trouver ma location de voiture au meilleur prix, sont très réactifs malheureusement je suis tombé sur une agence de location pas terrible, qui annonce louer la voiture avec le plein hors une fois récupéré on est plutôt sur un demi plein, pneus sous gonflé le lendemain de la location qu’il a fallu regonfler à nos frais, voiture sale, plusieurs accrocs sur la carrosserie alors que “l’état des lieux” de départ annonce une voiture niquelle. Pneus avant lisses, pas rassurant lors des journées de pluie

Positive experience: Authentique Canada is responsive in its answers and the circuits or road trips are well designed. However, no one was friendly and the service was rushed when picking up the car from Avis (mandatory to pick it up at the airport even though we were in the city at the hotel where the Avis office is, stupid!). Additional cost to get to the airport!

Fantastic experience: Serious company I want to thank Maryse, Émilie, and Jessica for their professionalism and for always being attentive to our needs (who do not hesitate to leave you a message on your mobile). We changed contracts three times to get a less expensive rental, as prices had dropped rapidly, and with exemplary efficiency, barely within 24 hours, they refunded the difference as they say (the balance) and new contracts.
