Negative experience: Really a horrible experience, whoever desiged my trip he ir she needs to go there at the Caldera View resort and experience the resort for themselves and then suggest to other people making a trip to Santorini. We were at Caldera View Resort from May 20th to May 27th 2024. For the views of the Caldera and the sunset it was good. But ti speak for the resort, itwas horrible. They didnt have proper breakfast ( i cannot give even 1 star for this).No lotion in the room. No cups,coffee and ceram to make coffee in the room, it was expected to be bought. One thing is that there is a bus stop right in front of the resort. This resort is far away from Fira. Had we known before we wouldn't have booked this, we are very disappointed and dissatisfied with this resort. We did not get our monies worth of service from this resort.

The missing lotion is certainly something that could be addressed right away at the reception of the accommodation itself. I am certain, they would accommodate your request for additional or missing lotion in the room. In regards to the breakfast and the location of the resort, information about the resort was provided in multiple of our documents during the booking process and prior to departure. From what we are aware, you had a representative in form of a Travel Agent, whose responsibility it would be, to go through your documents with you; to review suggested properties, to review the day by day itinerary and to address any open questions before departure. We are not responsible or liable for the actions or non-actions of the industry professionals on behalf of your person, that choose our company as provider of services. We can assure you, we certainly provide them with all necessary information, so you can ensure you get the best experience for your funds paid. At any given time and point in the booking process, any queries or concerns with the location or breakfast of the accommodation, could have been addressed with us and we would have made an alternate suggestion, that suited your expectations better. Positive experience: ***EDIT: I am adjusting the rating because since posting this review I was contacted by Goway travel to discuss our trip - they were professional and listened to my concerns and followed up with me. I appreciate their openness and willingness to discuss the issues and come to some resolution. After my conversation with Jennifer I am comfortable booking with them in the future*** My husband and I booked a trip to Australia with Jessica. Initially she was very helpful and gave us what looked like an excellent itinerary. We were also given a what’s app contact in case of issues while travelling. In general we had a good trip but we did have a few issues some of which could have been avoided. We were not advised that baggage allowances varies between domestic and international flights (international checked 23kg and domestic ranged between 20 and 30kg depending on the flight with a 7kg max for carry on) this caused quite a bit of stress when we discovered that upon check in while travelling. As for the tours, we weren’t given options just set tours - several of our scheduled trips were basically hop on and off coaches at specific sites and not particularly active and for the snorkelling tour it was on a large boat with both snorkelers and divers which made us spend more time trying to get into the water than actually snorkelling. We would have liked to have been given a selection to chose from, and would have chosen to spend more if needed for different tours. We were disappointed with our last few tours and have received no response from Jessica or anyone at GoWay after having messaged them.

Negative experience: We booked a trip to both Egypt and Jordan. We had a list of what we wanted to see and do and our agent at Goway did accommodate our list and built an itinerary. This was an expensive trip with private tours, guides and transportation. All hotels, and travel was inclusive. Goway did a a great job getting us emergency travel and rebooking a flight that was canceled. The Goway travel agent seemed to have a lack of attention to detail at times which we found strange as this is a very detailed job. Details like time of day for flights while in Egypt seemed to always be the earliest of flights, when there were many options later in the day. Four times were were up before 4am in order to get to the airport for an early flight, only to learn there were other options and arrival at our next destination didn't have rooms ready that early in the day. The trip was expensive and once on the tour we realized that the uplift of most of our trip was very high. An example is simple things like transportation to a train station was quoted at $100 per person ($400 total) and in reality we paid $14.00 total for 4 people. Other transports and guides seemed to be in line with this. We we were encouraged to hire a National Guide in Jordan for $800.00 total and when we arrived, we priced it directly and it was a fraction of that. Goway uplifts most included detail a very large amount. We expected to pay more using an agent, but multiple times more seemed excessive. Hiring Goway was not hands off. They did not take care of everything. We spent a lot of our own time and effort getting visas, buying insurance, claiming insurance, aligning our itinerary with the guides compared to what we purchased, etc. The local guides that Goway contracts were great, very professional and worked with us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. We just wish Goway would have had that same concern and attention to detail. It was a good trip, Goway was good but could have been better.

Hi Warren, Thank you for your feedback and review! In regards to your feedback about lack of attention to detail I would like to address a few points; flight times are being chosen by our Destination Specialist based on the most economical flights. As you may notice, the more comfortable the flight times, the more costly the flight as well. At any time and point in the quoting process, these times could have been requested to be changed to your comfort level, however this would certainly lead to a higher price of the package overall. I want to address that comparing costs that occur in destination, like taking a taxi from a train station is not a linear comparison to a prearranged private transfer. For the services we offer, if you compare apples to apples, we are very compatibly priced. I also understand that working with a Destination Specialist may occur in no work involved for the passenger at all, however in no way do we encourage clients do be completely off hands as expectations and budget vary widely. We always ask from our clients to read their day by day documents to ensure everything is to their liking, as we can only suggest itinerary items based off our gauge of the client’s desire and budget and then match it to suggestions based on our expertise but it no way does that mean one shoe fits all. Overall I am pleased to read that we assisted well with rebooking your flight when airline cancelled it and that quality of local guides and experience in destination was to your satisfaction.

Fantastic experience: My travel advisor and I used GoWay for Accommodations, transportation and transfers for 5 fabulous nights in Italy. It was seamless! Being met at the airport in Venice, escorted to our private water taxi, then being walked to our hotel was absolutely stress free. Then off to Florence and Milan.

Fantastic experience: We just returned from the trip of a lifetime to Egypt, the Red Sea and Dubai for our family of 9 (Grandparents, parents, and kids ages 4 to 20). We had a phenomenal experience planning our custom travel itinerary with the help of Meg!! She was very knowledgeable about the locations and provided great insight and suggestions for activities that the whole family would enjoy. The trip absolutely exceeded our expectations! Communication was excellent, all transfers, travel, and activities were on schedule, guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and activities were planned with exceptional companies. When our boat tour got overbooked and had to be rescheduled, Meg upgraded us to a private yacht instead!! We couldn’t be happier with our travel experience, their customer service is top notch! We definitely plan to use GoWay for our next adventure!

Fantastic experience: Recently came back from a tour in China and Thailand. I have nothing but praise for Goway. Their guides are knowledgeable and very accommodating. Many thanks to our tour Director - Jimmy Liu for taking such a good care of us and helping us out at some point of personal distress. On a general note, the tours were interesting, well planned and organized, great hotels, always in good locations, and plenty of food. Thank you guys!

Fantastic experience: Recently went on the Tanzania trip with Goway. I had an exceptional time! Everything was well planned out, rides and transportation showed up on time and friendly for every excursion. For travelling alone in Africa for the first time I felt completely safe at all times! The trip was a perfect mix of photography of wildlife, seeing villages and other cool places I didn't expect! I would definitely chose Goway Travel in the future!

Negative experience: This company really let me and my family down. The travel agent failed to listen to or even read my requests sending us to the Maldives for a trip that cost many thousands of dollars and placing my adult 6'4 son on a child's cot. I then spent a full day attempting to get the situation fixed as the agent at Goway kept telling the staff just to put a bigger bed in. I will never work with this company again. I ended up paying for an additional villa and couldn't even be close to my kids for this family trip. In addition had the agent listened to me when I emailed to confirm we had appropriate accomodations for adults this would not have happened had he bothered to check the resort we could have booked a family villa for the adult children which would have cost about 3000 dollars less. I didn't even get back the few hundred dollars it cost me for a triple room which we didn't use because of the lack of suitable bedding. I paid for one adult twice on this trip because of the agent's mistakes and lack of knowledge about this resort. I actually had to beg the travel agent to fix this so that my son could sleep in a normal bed. I begged and cried and he finally fixed it but only after 7 hours of me waiting and repeatedly trying to get help by phone and email. I asked for a refund on the triple room rate and heard nothing from this company. I know many people had a great experience and others had a nightmare. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground with this company. They don't even respond to phone calls and messages. Don't take a chance if you are planning what you thought was going to be a trip of a lifetime. We made the best of a bad situation and had to fight to get it fixed. Not the way you want to spend your bucket list trip.

Negative experience: Off to a terrible start so far-- - No trip itinerary provided now, just 4 mere days before flying out for the trip booked with them that cost over $10,000 (excluding flights which I booked myself). - Their insurance document could not even be opened at first, after paying $900 for the package; every delay like this needed several business days to get an answer back for. - Had no idea this company is what the original travel agency booked with (Expedia tours) would be partnering with. Had I known, I would've checked this company's reviews & seen all the horror stories / stayed away. - Got overcharged + had to go through travel agent to correct them for booking me as being in 2 places at the same time. What if someone had not caught that? Just casually throwing away their money, right? Less than a week left before flying out, let's see what happens***

Negative experience: BEWARE IF THEY BOOK YOUR HOTELS FOR YOU , YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY LOYALTY POINTS NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT THE HOTEL IS. !!!!!! Im talking about IHG, ACCOR, Marriott/SPG. We were not forwarded about this or else I would have happily booked directly with hotel website. Our travel agent did not inform us of this either. Very frustrating to find this out after several hours of web search and phone calls.

Hi Barbara - thank you for your review. As is stated within your hotel's loyalty program's Terms and Conditions, some restrictions do apply depending on how you book your hotel stay. Booking through a travel agent often comes with perks like being able to take advantage of unpublished (i.e. discounted) rates, and as such, it is thusly not uncommon for that applicable stay to not qualify for loyal points accreditation. We were in contact with your travel agent about this concern you raised as well. As I understand it now, all but one of your stays have been credited accordingly after the fact (again, following up with the hotel for each of your stays is recommended, which is what we did, and which is how resolutions have been garnered for all but one stay). I hope this clarifies this concern. Thank you.

Negative experience: In August, we booked a trip to the United Kingdom and Ireland through Goway Travel. They had great reviews and were highly recommended by our travel agent. And, while most of the trip went as expected, they were unwilling to stand behind their errors on the items that went poorly. For example, we made a point that we wanted high end hotels. We have traveled to Europe before and recognized that lodging standards are not identical to the United States. We checked into our hotel upon arrival in Edinburgh, Scotland and imagine our surprise that there was no one available until the next day to carry our luggage to our room, the lift (elevator) was out of order, our room was on the 4th floor, the stair well was not wide enough to carry a large bag (we were traveling for 14 days) beside your body, the outside temperature was an unseasonable 80+ degrees, their was no air conditioning, and the window would only open 3 inches allowing no air flow. This was especially challenging as we were traveling with my 78 year old mother. We were forced to move to another hotel for the two nights at our expense (we had pre paid for the first hotel). Shockingly, Goway Travel was unwilling to refund the pre-paid lodging charge as they advised we had the opportunity to review the hotel online prior to the trip completely failing to address the lack of bellmen, working elevator, narrow stairwell, etc that would never be listed on a web site. The hotel would have been fine had the bellmen been available and the elevator in operation. These two issues made the hotel unsuitable for our stay. Goway's response was that they had bellmen (they did not the day we needed them) and that we could have switched rooms placing my mother on the 2nd Floor and she would have only needed to lug her bag up two flights instead of 4. And, my wife and I should have been able to manage carrying our bags up the four flights (presumably on our heads due to the narrowness of the stairwell). Several other items were just errors by the Goway agent. Their response was that we should have "caught" their mistakes because they sent paperwork multiple times in advance of the trip and thus we were just as responsible as them. Not to belabor the point but this unprofessional approach was consistent throughout our attempt to address with Goway's response failing to address the facts. In total, the trip was great and many of the items went perfectly. However, I tend to evaluate people and companies on how they respond when there is a problem and Goway Travel failed miserably from this perspective.

Fantastic experience: Travelled May 28 - June 10 First, I must say, my husband typically does all the planning when we travel. Except in this case, I wanted to surprise him for his 50th birthday which meant I had to do all the planning. It was our first trip to Europe and my initial plan was do Greece. I was very nervous since I knew nothing about how to ensure we maximize or stay and make sure my husband had the time of his life. This is when I googled Travel Agents/Tours who could assist and chose to give Goway Travel a try simply based on their customer reviews. One of their agents (Amanda D.) picked up my call inquiring about my plans. Amanda did an awesome job at bringing my anxiety level at that time from 100 to 80 immediately. She offered to start, by customizing an itinerary based on my budget for me to review and went straight to work until I was satisfied with the plans. Amanda really put me at ease with her passion and professionalism. Even though my original plan was for Greece, she provided me with options which allowed me to include Italy to our itinerary which grew my excitement. As the departure date grew close, Amanda contacted me to review my itinerary and what to expect during my travels, which I can now say turned out to be quite valuable during the trip. My biggest fear also, was what our experience would be like, moving around the various destinations planned and what our accommodations would look like, however thanks to Amanda and Goway, our experience was seamless, and my husband was quite impressed with our choices and had an amazing time. Hotel were great and in prime locations which allowed us to walk everywhere, our transportation was always there to pick up and drop off when needed….etc. Without a doubt Goway will be planning our next big trip. Big Shout out to Amanda D. for her patience in understanding our needs and delivered!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Trip to San Francisco Our trip was a dream come true - it was flawless from start to finish. The flights, the car service, the key/central location of our hotel, the tours that were booked - everything ran so smoothly. It was truly a stress-free 8 days - now how often can you actually say this! Our agent, Melissa, is clearly an expert in her field. Fantastic experience: A Wonderful Trip to Malta with a Stopover in Paris Although I had some minor issues with the hotels and transfers, my trip to Malta and the city of Paris was very well organized and customized. The travel agent at Goway Travel - Regine Robles - was always available to answer any questions or concerns I had when planning my trip and accommodated any changes I suggested. She made it a pleasure. She also followed up with me after the trip via phone to get my feedback. I would certainly use Goway for any future trips.

Negative experience: BEWARE! If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. We had a trip booked in 2020. They've refused to offer our money back. Instead, they've held us hostage with our own money for over 2 and a half years. We tried to eventually rebook, but their system was conveniently down for weeks. Then we tried to rebook again, and suddenly tours that are advertised on their website are no longer available. They made no effort to communicate with us with regards to deadlines for rebooking. I wonder how many people lost money due to the lack of communication? Let me give you some advice. This should be the last company you choose to book travel with. Book things on your own, or use any other travel company.

Positive experience: Have done some wonderful trips through Goway travel. Peter was especially helpful and found much value priced packages. Our second trip an was planned by another rep, who was only interested in maximizing commissions. Disappointed in our trip when we arrived and decided not to work with this organization again.

Negative experience: THEFT OF SERVICE!!!!! *We have retained a lawyer and are contact the attorney general* On February of 2020 My husband and I booked our honeymoon with a local travel agency. We decided to splurge and do a 2 week trip to Australia from Minneapolis, MN, USA and used a travel agency to ensure everything was taken care of and to take the stress off of us. Our travel agency uses GoWay for Australia packages and we had our trip booked for November of 2020!! We were aware of some countries in lockdown so we purchased travel insurance. Days later the world went into lockdown because of COVID. Our trip was postponed with flight credits issued from Virgin Australia (LAX>Sydney) & Qantas for in-country flights. Fast forward to Feb 2022 when Australia opened its doors to intl travelers again and we began the rebooking process, or so we thought. In July of 2022, we hadn’t been given an updated itinerary with flight info so I began to get concerned as we needed visas still. I also wanted to ensure our flight credits didn’t expire before we were rebooked for January 2023. On august 6 we were informed that VA isn’t doing international air travel so we would need to book new flights ($2200/pp) and we would not receive a refund from VA. Our travel agency won’t refund our money bc our travel insurance that we paid for expired on our original travel date of November 2020 and in order to have gotten a credit for travel insurance our agent would have needed to submit a request for that back in November 2020. I called VA myself who informed me they won’t refund our money either, it’s not in their policy. VA only travels to places like Australia, New Zealand, but nothing from US. Not only did we lose our honeymoon, we are out $3320 largely because of the incompetence of the travel agency. I had always thought travel agencies were white glove luxury services, but this is has turned into a nightmare.

Negative experience: Beyond dissapointed and frustrated at this company. My mom booked a trip to Greece, and was told it was a "group tour." She only booked this trip, as a solo woman because it was going to be a "group tour." When she arrived, she was picked up by a taxi driver, not a tour guide or bus. There was a meet and greet time on her itinerary the next day, and no one met her. She was left stranded, across the world, on her own. She suffered a major panic attack and became unwell on the trip. She booked a flight to come back home as this was NOT the trip she planned. She purchased ALL the travel insurance possible, and was informed she was not going to receive her $10 000+ back from the company. They booked a "group" tour for her, and she did not receive that. Instead she suffered a medical emergency because of this company. Further to this, she tested positive for COVID upon coming back home. I find this company to be fraudulent and will be further reporting and pursuing. My mom deserves her money back, and then some.

Fantastic experience: Egypt should be a bucket list for everyone. GoWay is an excellent travel company. Told them what we wanted and what we expected and after some shuffling they delivered, all we had to do was pay and show up. Jamie Lloyd is the man we worked with and we had the best, most fantastic experience. There was so much detail to be fine tuned in so many locations, and so many flights involved, Egypt is a big place. Cairo is a city of 23 million people and we also bounced all over the country, not a detail was missed, not one disappointment, on-time - every time. Such a huge experience made simple. Goway also employed Emeco Travel in Cairo to "handle" us. They obviously know how to pick their people because we were treated like rock stars.

Fantastic experience: Over the last 15 years, we have traveled with GoWay all over the Middle East, South America, and in the last few years, into China and Japan. We have had just fantastic trips with them. We had a few bumps in our last trip and were writing them during the trip. As soon as we were home, we had an e-mail from Goway saying that they would look into our situation. Within a week or so, they had completely solved the problems. I thanked them for being so honourable. They are a fantastic group to travel with, and we will continue to use only them for our future travels.
