Negative experience: Poor services. So rude talking.

Fantastic experience: Dealing with Bill Allan was an absolutely amazing experience. I’m very well travelled and have been my own travel agent for many years but having dealt with Bill makes travelling seamless as he is very resourceful. The package he puts together is down to every detail. He is also extremely engaging and you can see he loves what he does. I highly recommend Bill and have already spread the word to friends and neighbours. I was referred to him by someone in the neighbourhood who had an amazing experience with him as well.

Fantastic experience: Wedad delivered on my expectations for my first trip to Europe. She was patient with all my questions and ensured I stayed within budget. I asked for clean accommodations in safe areas and she not only made sure of that but also booked hotels in excellent locations. She freely shared her wealth of knowledge of Paris and several Italian cities, suggesting itineraries and taking care of all the details like car rentals and train trips. Thank you Wedad!

Positive experience: Marlin travel in Vancouver has been slow to adopt modern email marketing lists that allow recipients to opt-out. I had a difficult time getting my email address removed from travel email blasts - even with many requests.. UPDATE: Manager/Owner has promised to remove my email address from mailing list after posting this review on Yelp. Head office in Toronto has assured me that automated opt-out lists will be used in the future. In no way do I believe this 'resolved' email problem reflects on the quality of service clients will receive at Marlin travel - I'm sure their travel service is first rate.

Negative experience: Came in as a walk in potential client. Did my research before coming to see how the travel agency's offer would be different from what's available online. From the first moments, Wedad showed that she is in power here, she is the owner, she knows everything, didn't want to listen to all the details, was cutting me off when i was talking and then arguing with me “it’s not what you told me earlier” when I continued telling my situation; she even said “I'm not going to tell you everything cause you are not booking with me”. And she got offended when I called an offer that she was mentioning as “her offer”, she corrected me “it’s not MY offer, it’s the AIRLINE offer”. Honestly, at that time i was still genuinely considering using their services so that I don’t have to do it myself even though the offer was pretty similar. And I would have gone with a travel agency but solely because of attitude, I decided not to proceed with them. When you plan your vacation you want a good welcoming experience, definitely not to be in a power struggle, especially with someone who is in customer oriented industry providing services to you that you are paying for. And at the background another agent was yelling on the phone, demanding to speak with the manager. Pretty stressful and aggressive vibe at their office. Can’t comment about the professionals with regards to technical aspects of their jobs, but customer service skills are seriously lacking there.

Fantastic experience: Wedad is the ideal and unique travel agent with vast personal experience and knowledge. She is kind and passionate about her job and her resort and holiday recommendations is based on her personal visit to the resorts, islands, holiday destinations. Very hard to find this type of service in this day and age

Fantastic experience: Wedad is the best!! She took all of our family's pre covid travel arrangements, reconfigured everything, found us an amazing new resort, organized the flights and transfers perfectly. Trying to deal with Westjet on our own was a nightmare and frankly we were at the point of giving up and not using our travel dollars already spent. Then we contacted Wedad and she made it easy. The big question is why would anyone not use a travel agency to book a trip? Wedad was friendly, open to suggestions, organized, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. She has been doing this forever. I'm a believer !

Fantastic experience: My colleagues had a gathering in Vancouver recently and Wedad assisted in organizing the team building activities, site seeing, lunch and dinner venues. She is extremely professional and definitely knows what she is doing. She will give you suggestions and direct you in any way she thinks would benefit you in having a good time. Even though the weather was not too good the team had a very enjoyable stay with lots of awesome activities and food. She is highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Wedad was our travel agent for booking our destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta in 2021. She worked with me tirelessly to find a destination, and organize extending the invitation to 100+ guests. As travel rules changed throughout the pandemic, Wedad evolved and adapted with it. She answered all the questions from all the people and was all around an excellent communicator and a true professional. I highly recommend Wedad for your big group vacation, she's great.

Fantastic experience: We've been booking our travel through Wedad at Marlin Travel in downtown Vancouver for years. We have nothing but good things to say about her and her team. If you are looking for an experienced travel agent, go see Wedad!

Fantastic experience: We booked our Alaska cruise (July, 2019) with Wedad. She provided excellent service and addressed all of our questions immediately & very professionally. She also booked our Southern Caribbean cruise for April, 2020, but it unfortunately was cancelled due to COVID-19. While we have a B2B cruise booked for Feb. 2021, she managed our FCC from the April cruise keeping our best interests in mind, despite the unsettling times with the cruise lines. Wedad also booked & managed our air transportation and insurance coverage and sorted everything out for us leaving nothing for us to worry about. Because all of this can be somewhat confusing, she would never leave a question in my mind & wanted to ensure that I understood how credits & refunds were being applied. I always felt that we were being taken care of & would definitely recommend her and her agency. I also dealt with Bill Allen who was fantastic.

Fantastic experience: I was in search of good quality, good value resort for me and 40 friends. Wedad hit a home run in terms of what we were looking for. She worked hard to create an excellent experience for us. I can tell she's been working in the industry for a very long time; she really knows her stuff. Fantastic experience: Five stars for Bill Allen, who went above and beyond to get us a refund when Air Canada cancelled a flight that we had booked in order to avoid a redeye. Bill set us up on a flight home with another airline ensuring that we had a good trip, then followed up on his own time. Negative experience: The worse expirience ever I had with Wedad Bishara, so rude, unprofessional, not listening and constantly talking over you. She proceeded to tell me “I’m the owner, I don’t care. Deal with it” after I told her I will not be purchasing any tickets from her company but she didn’t listen and still charged me for them!!! Absolutely ridiculous! Now I have 2 round trip tickets I never asked for! Horrible service. This is absolutely ridiculous. 4 months ago Faly signed a contract with Miss. Wedad and asked parents who is not interested for ticket to call you and let you know. My husband called you and that is the time when you were supposed to take our son off from the list. But you didn’t, you still charged the Faly tickets for our son without telling them that we called and told you that we are not interested . Of course I understand the percentage was more important then customer service to you. Please don’t mix Faly into this. it has nothing to do with them, We called you before you change them for the ticket.

Negative experience: Awful customer service. The guy helping me was sterotypically pretentious. He was too interested in what was going on outside their building, and had zero interest in listening to me. Regardless, he felt that he obtained enough information while NOT listneing to me, to tell me what I would be interested in most. I would rather spend hours combing the internet and booking every step of my travel on my own, over dealing with these people. I have booked through some great travel agencies in the past, but I would never trust this place to manage my valuable time away, or the expense that goes with it.
