Fantastic experience: AML Cruise Great experience

Fantastic experience: This is the second time I go to the red ribbon party! For the office Christmas party. It’s great, delicious food, exquisite service, and the DJ is top-notch; I danced like never before! Negative point: I had sore feet!

Fantastic experience: I recommend the cruise with AML 100%! Very well organized, takes care of all the customers, excellent food!

Fantastic experience: Cruise along the shores of Montreal, lasting 3 hours. Meals available with reservation in advance. Music and dancing on the front deck after the meal.

Negative experience: The worst! Weather was beautiful the crew ruined the experience super obnoxiously loud speakers, giant speakers blasting you from both sides. Asked to turn them down, nothing changed. This was the only portion of the boat we could access due to very steep stairs for all other levels. We were trapped for 90 minutes getting headaches and completely unable to hear each other.

Positive experience: We bought 4 tickets for the brunch cruise, signature option. The upgrade is really worth it to have a table right next to the window; it made all the difference for us. Both the staff at the reception (ticket office) and the waitress were exceptional. The chef went above and beyond to try to serve us something nice despite our multiple allergies, and we never felt like we were bothering anyone; top-notch service!! In terms of food, the only starter choice was good and nice. As for the main course, it was acceptable but not extravagant; you can eat better in a standard breakfast restaurant. The only dessert choice was good. There was also a choice of fresh and good pastries, but they were served in crumbs; one of each (4 different ones for 4 people), so no one dared to take what they really wanted out of courtesy for others. If we requested another basket, it was 4 more...we would have liked a well-stocked basket with at least 2 of each type so that we could eat what we actually wanted. I think a buffet option would be more interesting if feasible, or otherwise, a small buffet section to complement our meal...to consider. We would have been willing to pay a small extra for that...Finally, regarding the trip, the view was beautiful in the first minutes of departure when we could see the Old Port of Montreal from the water, La Ronde, and the Bridge, but the boat was not moving fast, and since 90 minutes goes by quickly, we never went beyond the Old Port to the East, and the view was limited to the industries lining the Port (Lantic and company). It would have been nice to see Bellerive Park, the Boucherville Islands, Varennes, in short, a bit of nature. Overall, we recommend this cruise for the general experience.

Negative experience: We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends and family on AML's Happy Hour cruise on Saturday, September 21. Straight and simple, the boarding experience was horrible. 1. We directed our guests to pre-order tickets online, which they did, same as we did. 2. Why is the requirement to go to the cashier window to collect boarding tickets, and adding to the chagrin, requiring presenting the credit card used in the online purchase of tickets? For G-d's sake, we are in 2024! Already two full decades into the age of online purchases and QR code scanning. What is the use of an online purchase if you require all this hurdle of presenting in the cashier window? 2. The location of the boarding to the ship: AML could have placed clear signs showing the way to the temporary boarding dock, patrons do not need to enter the waiting room and 15 minutes before boarding exit a narrow door and rush all the way 500 meters away up and down a hundred stairs(!!!) to get to the boat. AML could tell people to go there right away after picking up their tickets at the cashier windows and not make them rush there in the last minute. 3. What about the disabled, pregnant women and parents with babies and tots? Among our guests, there were one lady in her 9th month of pregnancy, several parents and grandparents carrying babies and with toddlers, and at least one disabled person who could hardly make the long distance with the stairs, even assisted by other guests, who arrived breathless, sweating and aching to the location of boarding, at the very end of dock. The whole of AML's organization represents cruelty for the sake of cruelty, stupidity, and absolute and complete ignorance of people's needs and expectations, a total failure in human relations and customer service.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the experience, and it's very interesting to look at Montreal from the river.

Negative experience: The ship is clean and the Ride was nice. But one person completely destroyed our experience: the guide frederice! He is extremly repetitive, really loud and so annoying that we had to leave the Deck. Shut him down!

Negative experience: Super signature, what a disappointment. We took the most expensive tickets for a half view because there was a pole that separated the glass since there were too many tables. Very poor value for money considering the outdated equipment and the overcrowding of tables pressed against each other. The appetizer and the starters were good, the main meal much less so, and the service was correct. Extremely noisy, the speaker was just above our heads. In short, I was really disappointed and I do not recommend the signature option (which is the most expensive).

Negative experience: GROSS ZERO for the staff at the ticket office of the Old Port of Montreal. We had booked a 5-course dinner cruise for Saturday, August 10, 2024, and we arrived on time for the boarding time, which is 6 PM. We asked a young man at the ticket office if we were in the right place by showing him our purchase confirmation email. He told us no and had us running around between two docks for almost an hour, only to realize that we were in the right place all along! Frankly, the service REALLY leaves much to be desired. We almost missed our boat. You need to consider that you have to walk 20 minutes between two different docks and have to figure out how to find the EXACT place without help because the ticket office staff are completely incompetent in guiding customers to the right location. The confirmation emails indicate the address 200, rue de la Commune Ouest, but do not specify WHICH dock. When we finally returned to the right place, we had 5 minutes left to board the boat, so I expressed my dissatisfaction to the same young man at the ticket office. He had a really bad attitude, as if it was our fault he couldn’t guide the customers... He complained that we had booked our tickets with different credit cards and that he now had to ask for all the credit cards we had paid with. I pointed out to him that we were a group of 7 people and that we had called in advance to ask if we could pay separately, and one of his colleagues had told us it was possible to pay with different cards. For those who are considering booking a cruise, don’t do it. The price paid for a ticket is outrageous considering that the ticket office employees do not even provide top-notch customer service and do not know how to direct people to the right place. It is really not worth it for almost $200 per ticket; it’s very poorly organized. The cruise was beautiful and the dinner excellent, but the reception we received from the handsome young man at the ticket office on August 10, 2024, at 7 PM means we will never book again. The experience has truly been ruined. I would have given you 0 stars if I could, just for the bad service, the poor organization from the ticket office, and the haughty attitude of the employee.

Positive experience: Positive points: Good atmosphere, artists during the meal (saxophone and harp), nice for couples. Negative points: the tables are really too close together, we spend our time being disturbed. Moreover, for the price paid, we would like a bit more privacy, but clearly the quest for profitability takes precedence.

Fantastic experience: It was good food and entertainment

Negative experience: My wife had to undergo an unexpected surgery, preventing her from traveling while she recovers. We provided Croisière AML with a medical certificate as proof. We had a reservation for four people, including ourselves and two other friends. Given the situation, we informed our friends that we would need to cancel our reservation and reimbursed them so they could make another booking. However, AML refused to refund us and only offered a coupon instead. Despite providing proof that our friends rebooked after we canceled, AML maintained their stance and refused to offer a refund, insisting on the coupon. It's frustrating to feel forced into using a service we can no longer enjoy, especially since the coupon is worth around $660. That’s a significant amount, and we're left wondering what we’re supposed to do with it. A more reasonable approach would have been to offer a partial refund in cash, particularly considering the medical situation and the evidence we provided.

Positive experience: Great Cruise, but don’t order the virgin mojito. It’s just some sugar water with a few decorative leafs of mint and some lime slices. No taste whatsoever

Fantastic experience: Even in the rain, they managed to make this experience first-class and entertaining. The food was exceptional - the best I've ever had on a dinner cruise! The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the surroundings - very willing to answer questions and spend time with you. We didn't feel rushed at all. There was plenty of room to move around, considering it was quite packed. Definitely recommended!

Negative experience: Second time on the boat. Unfortunately, each time it was disastrous regarding the food served on board the boats. Really disappointed. On the other hand, the music was very good.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, far from the experience we expected, having paid $460 for 4 tickets, and being trampled by a boat that was way too full. Very difficult service, the waiters didn't seem interested in serving us. Very far from the fireworks, we were lucky to be on the water but stayed far from them. In the end, the disembarkation was very long and painful, over 45 minutes to get off the boat. You will have a better experience on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge and all for free.

Positive experience: The flyer states evening cruise to see the illuminated city. But we learn that the cruise time is at 4 PM, so in broad daylight. Complimentary drink, which is hilarious. The choice between a beer and a Badoit. The guide provides good explanations and the staff on board is professional. Mixed review.

Negative experience: We paid 450 Canadian dollars for a boat ride including a 5-course dinner. The main dish was lobster that we NEVER saw. Mr. 'Esadic' yelled at us that it was a kitchen error and... Very poor service from this person, they did not refund our money. 'I do not recommend this tour.'

Positive experience: Nice cruise, well-commented in French and English. Seating a bit low for the view and rude people who keep getting up in front to take photos.

Fantastic experience: Good cruise, a must-do to discover the outdoors of Montreal, thanks to the person who perfectly commented it in French and English! It was great ☀️ Just so you know, the 4 PM cruise is a bit cheaper, and one drink per person is included in the price.

Negative experience: Cruise and fireworks, I think I'm not the only person who was very disappointed to find that the boat did not take us closer to the fireworks (at least on the other side of the bridge) but rather moved away so that the bridge was in all the photos. We had very good seating but the boat was so full (no seats for everyone) and people were so crammed together (obviously everyone wants to be on the bridge) and everyone stands up to see the fireworks, so these great seats were useless. Some passengers were crammed into the bridge stairs to film, making movement difficult if not impossible at times. I can't tell you how disturbing and blinding the flashes from a good 30 cell phones were, as well as the pack of arms in our field of vision. The boat was noisy and had to regularly rev its engine to stay in place (because yes, we just went in circles in front of the big dock for 1.5 hours). A huge Canadian flag blocked almost 1/3 of the total view available (for photos ...) and slapped some passengers in the face. Only one staff member seemed to know the basics of customer service; we even joked that the A in AML stood for 'amateurs.' There was no entertainment, the safety instructions were quite rudimentary, and the wait at the ticket office was interminable. I was quite disappointed with my experience; we were even looking forward to it ending. The fireworks were great, but we were too far away to see them in their entirety. At $70/ticket, it's theft in my opinion; so many places where we could have seen them for free, I was really expecting much more.

Fantastic experience: Excellent boat ride. I was surprised to see there was table service; which was great. I particularly enjoyed my Mr. Freeze, which reminded me of when I was a kid. The tour guide spoke French and English very clearly and was knowledgeable about the sights. I would definitely recommend this trip..

Positive experience: It was a nice little crusie. I honestly expected more based on what they were charging. I took the 1 hour crusie. They do a bit of the St. Lawrence River. The bet place to seat is definitely outside. There is a lady that takes photos of people and charges is you'd like the photo. The idea is nice but honestly the pictures are really worth it. They could do more to improve that. Drinks are also pricey. I paid nearly $6 for a coke. But I guess it's to be expected. All in all if you are bored and in the area it's nice. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Positive experience: I boarded this as part of my MTL passport. It was okay, their boarding was very chaotic and they sent me in the wrong direction at least 4 times. The trip is 1.5 hours and it's difficult to say if it's worth it. I did have their amazing Sangria and I must say that our server Bianca was absolutely amazing!

Fantastic experience: Very nice experience on the cruise with young children. A special mention to the bus driver Martial, super kind!! You can see that he loves his job, excellent driver and friendly with the kids.

Positive experience: Let groups go first. We feel excluded when tourists pass before us. Interesting narration, but it needs an update on the outdated statistics. The presentation is out of sync with the tourist attractions. Otherwise, beautiful boat with great views.

Negative experience: We arrived with our almost 100 students today at 1h30 for the 2 o'clock cruise. A cruise that was to last 1h30. At 2h05 we still hadn't left the dock. The captain came on and said it would be another 15 minutes before leaving...by 2h45 one of the teachers went to the staff and said what the heck is going on? We need to bring our students back to the subway station by 4h00. They said it wouldn't be long they were waiting to change a piece in the motor! Finally by 3ish o'clock they were ready to take off but only for a 20 minute ride because they didn't want to be late for the 4 o'clock scheduled cruise. Excuuuuuse us. We had a 1hr delay, but you can't be late for the next cruise. No effort was made to rectify the situation. Not impressed!

Negative experience: We were a family of 4, Sunday morning 90 min cruise for $137. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Better to take the ferry. 1. The guys spoke only for about 30 min and was clearly heard only on the upper deck. If you are in other parts of the ship you can't understand what she's saying 2. We spent like 20 min in the small pocket near the ship terminal where the Bota spa is. I could have watched it from the dock for free. 3. After you pass the old port and the amusement park, there's nothing to see. At least the guide could have said something about the surroundings but no... So unless you're taking the cruise with a fancy meal-just take the ferry or the cheaper versions available 1 star for the friendly staff and 1 star for clean washroom I have to say that I've been to multiple city cruises in many countries and this one was the most disappointing for the price

Negative experience: I have taken several cruises with AML Montréal. The last one over the weekend was really disastrous. Mixing the public room with small party and wedding groups was really unreasonable. He was drunk, drinking alcohol like a drunkard, and constantly screaming very loud. They kept encroaching around the couple's tables. There were several of us who wanted to leave the boat two hours before the end of the trip. I would certainly have great hesitation about going back on an AML Montréal cruise, knowing the risk of reliving the same nightmare. A signature dinner in the trash.

Fantastic experience: A great way to begin your trip experience as a tourist. Plenty of space to move around the different levels. They also have food/ drink services.

Positive experience: The boat ride was great but there was absolutely no parking inside or around the area. I had to park far away and still got a ticket for parking. Not sure where they expect people to park and bus / metro was not an option that day. I recommend car pooling with people or taking a taxi.

Negative experience: Took their ferry across the river. Captain was rude and wanted to start a fight.

Positive experience: A beautiful evening for Christmas from start to finish. The meal was well balanced, the dancing, the service. We enjoyed our experience. A few drawbacks - The windows were fogged up, making it impossible to see outside (we understand there are many of us in a confined space, but what’s the point of leaving the port if we can’t see outside) - Not suitable for people with reduced mobility. To reach the restrooms, you have the choice to climb or descend the steps. So that's something to consider. Will we do it again? YES, absolutely.

Fantastic experience: I went there thinking the food would be average and the main attraction would be the cruise. To my surprise, the food was wonderful, all 5 courses! The choice of live music outside or DJ's entertainment indoors, with the circus being the cherry on top, made for a memorable night! I would definitely do one of their crews again!

Positive experience: Good but disappointed because I thought I would see Montreal at night, which I did catch a glimpse of on the way back, instead we followed the docks. Once you've seen one container, you've seen them all... So I am disappointed that I didn't really get to see Montreal at night.

Positive experience: The combo ticket for the cruise and the light show at the Basilica bought on the AML official website ($69.99) is very cost-effective. The daily sailing times are only 11:30, 14:00, and 16:00, and you need to go to the AML ticket counter by the dock to exchange your ticket. We had an online purchase QR code, but it didn’t work at first. Only with the help of another experienced staff member who changed our proof of purchase into a paper ticket were we able to enter smoothly. The boat is large and stable, with three levels, the highest being outdoors. The journey lasts about 1.5 hours, sailing along the St. Lawrence River, enjoying the scenery of the Old Port area, accompanied by live English and French guided tours. However, due to the noise outdoors, it was difficult to hear clearly. Taking the boat allows you to enjoy the beauty of Montreal from the river's perspective, with skyscrapers, the Clock Tower by the port, the Ferris wheel, and the big tent of Cirque du Soleil all visible. You can also see the special architectural structure of Habitat 67 up close, as well as the thrilling roller coaster rides at La Ronde amusement park. After passing the Jacques Cartier Bridge, we gradually arrived at the warehouse and container area, and the cruise turned back just before reaching Charron Island. Finally, the boat staff helps each table of guests take a group photo, which the photographer did quite well, but the photos being $10 each is a bit pricey.

Fantastic experience: A big 5 stars for the excellent dinner. The beef cheek was to die for. The servers were really nice and attentive. We had a lovely evening.

Positive experience: We took the 1.5 hour cruise from the old port to the Northern tip of Montreal. The 4pm cruise is cheaper and includes a free drink. Really nice cruise, with a great guide. Perfect amount of time to cruise the St Lawrence and grab dinner after in Montreal.

Positive experience: avoid weekends or you have to be early, like real early in order to find a seat and also to find a parking (even paid ones). No organization at all, you'll find a six person's table used by two and they will not allow you to share neither for them to move to a two seat table. If you sit in the middle of the deck or the middle of the inside lounge; you'll see nothing of the river nor the attractions.

Positive experience: Food was good, staff competent and friendly. One small failure. I did not get mashed potatoes with my salmon. As the guest to my right and left had ordered beef and chicken, I figured, theirs came with mashed and the salmon did not. I was wrong.

Negative experience: I spent about $1,500 for this 3 course dinner for my birthday with friends last night, and the food was terrible. I don’t even know if the braised beef was real beef. It tasted and looked like lab grown meat. It was not my first time and I expected dishes that actually looked like your promotion pictures and what I had on my last visit. The waiter was extremely slow and not that great, even though he was a nice guy. If it wasn’t for me being with my friends the food and service would have made my night a real loss.

Negative experience: It was the worst1.5 hr river cruise I have ever been on and I’m from Montreal. I had a guest from Toronto and expected that they would give information on Montreal’s rich history but they did not. We went up the st Laurence river, had alcohol but no information on Montreal. Don’t waste your money and go with bateau Mouche. Way better!!

Negative experience: I purchased 4 tickets for myself and my family for a tour of Montreal along the St. Lawrence River. The tour itself was great, but the atrocious service we experienced practically ruined the whole cruise. The waiters consistently ignored our table and we had to basically beg for them to take our orders and serve us. When we finally placed our orders, the drinks arrived promptly, but the nachos we ordered took over 45 minutes to reach our table. Meanwhile, other passengers seemed to be getting their orders without any issue. We had to flag down a different server to ask about our order, only to be told that there was a problem in the kitchen. While the cruise offered great sights and an enjoyable experience, the lack of attention and the delay in getting our orders ruined the entire trip.

Positive experience: So Signature meal with Fireworks. Impeccable, punctual service (departure, arrival on time), very nice view of the lights. However, the meal did not live up to our expectations. 5 services which should be 4 since the first, of crab and salmon, was smaller than a $2. 2nd service, duck confit salad which tasted good but the freshness was not. For example, the lettuce pieces, all were rusty, the berries were decomposing in short, a service prepared the old. 3rd service, poultry mousse and crostini. Crostini which was neither crispy nor enough for the assigned portion of mousse. Main meal, beef tenderloin which was overcooked for medium cooking with a small lobster tail which was excellent. For the finale, the dessert, crispy chocolate tongue which again was not crispy, like the salad or the crostinis. In general, nice couple activity, nice evening. On the other hand, in my opinion, the amount paid is not worth as much.

Fantastic experience: They have the most comfortable seats and a public washrooms. Cool place to soak your foot on the grass!

Fantastic experience: Nice cruise to see the river and the island. Great view to Montreal skyline. Nice service, drinks and food. We have chosen the upper deck right side. As the tour is down the river and back, it does not matter which side you are sitting. We had the 16:00 cruise which included a drink. The drink was handed out while waiting to board. You could take your glass on to the ship.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful boat with lovely food. We went for a bachelorette brunch it was fantastic, the food was very good. I loved that we paid in advance online and didn’t have to hassle on the boat. Once we had eaten we could go enjoy the exterior and see the view. It’s possible to buy extra drinks at the bar that are excluded from the total price. I wish there music on the boat was better maybe a light jazz from Stingray station or something would have been better than commercial radio.
